Was denied service after telling them I needed four brand new tires installed on my car after seeing that I had wheel studs installed. I told the workers that you guys don't have to worry about it because they have been torqued then proceeded to say that it's gonna be an issue because they would still have to torque the studs after installation after I told them that they have already been torqued. All you guys are doing is messing with the lugs and the wheels and tires not the studs, made an appointment with CS Motorsports for installation and they had no problem with the wheel studs. Did I also mentioned that I had two leaks on my lefts sides and they didn't even bother to plug them or fix them either, just a horrible experience, I do not recommend. read more

Service manager today (7/2/24) denied patching because of a previous plug done in ~2021 by Discount Tire off South Blvd. This is the only place this vehicle has been serviced (tire wise). I needed a spare tire mounted on an after market rim. They said they would have it ready in about two hours. Which is normal because this store is always busy. They called and told me that they had the tire ready but they scratched my rim. They told me they would fix it free of charge. They did and they went above and beyond to make things right. They tried to sell me new tires and proceeded to say they couldn't work on it bc they could not remove the lug nuts. Filed a police report and went to the Tryon location where I had zero issues. Took my car here for a tire rotation with 25,000 miles on my current tires. Was refused tire rotation and told I needed 4 new tires!! Whatever you do, do not buy the tire rotation plan. They will try to sell you new tires way before time, then refuse your rotation unless you buy them. This also happened to my brother in law and a friend of mine. Took cars to a different place with no problems. This is probably a sales gimmick handed down by corporate since it has happened to multiple people. 4 new tires at 25,000 miles!!! This is my second time here and I have to say that they are quick and efficient! I would however recommend making an appt because they get really busy and walk in's could take forever! I tried that last Friday and was told it would be a 3 hour wait!! Whaaaaaat?! No way, 'ain't nobody got time for dat'! Anyway my only issue with it had nothing the do with service. I did not like the fact that they did not require that EVERYONE wear masks. I think that is just not safe for anyone, customers or employees. I brought my own tires and the rep said it would cost me $30 per tire. $10 to unmount, $10 to mount, and $10 to balance (which was a discount because they usually charge $17). So $120 plus tax to mount and balance the 4 tires I needed to. I just choose another tire shop they did the whole thing plus a 6 quart oil change for less then that including taxes and they didn't discount anything. There's literally nothing showing on the tire besides the nail which caused the issue. The guy then proceeds to tell me that I needed to change all four tires or at least the two in the front. All information that I didn't ask for. I repeatedly said what I came in for. Finally, after getting my keys back, he makes the comment that "no one will fix it for me in that condition". I have two cars and a truck. I alway get my tires here . They have my records in the computer and can suggest the make of the tires I need or want. I like that they ask what kind of driving I will be doing. They know how many miles I got on the set they are replacing. I always call ahead so I have an appointment time so I don't have to wait around too long. You can opt to pay for a warranty where you get a replacement if you get a flat. I don't get that. I don't get many flats. The tires come with free balance and rotation for the life of the tires. I stop in from time to time and they correct the air pressure for free. There are chairs, coffee, and magazines if you want There is a restaurant right next door to get a drink while waiting . There is a babies r us and a Home Depo right behind the store too so I never have to just sit and wait read more

Absolutely amazing service! When my tire started hissing as I pulled into work, I completely freaked. I saw a huge metal piece sticking out of it. I had purchased my tires here last year and when I called they said I could come immediately. As soon as I parked my car, Sean Calvin(assistant manager) was outside greeting me. He shook my hand, introduced himself and reassured me that I would be taken care of. They are currently fixing my tire at no charge. Best customer service ever!!! Ken was very helpful, ordered what I needed and got everything installed. He even got my quick prices on some other tires I was debating for another vehicle. The only reason I deducted a star was because when I called to make an appointment to come in I would talk with Ken. I would then get a call later on from someone else saying my stuff was in. Originally took my classic 1970 chevy truck in for a full set of new tires. Hit a snag when my scheduled installation came and I was informed at their shop that the full set of 4 were not available. Back a few days later to get job completed. Then I took wife's car in for another $800 set of new tires. Couple days later I discovered that they screwed up my truck's install by not providing new set of valve stems which would match ones they removed and extend beyond my factory stainless beauty rims. Now I have to remove beauty rims just to check tire pressure or adjust tire pressure. Contacted Asst Manager Alex about the issue with a request to schedule appointment to refit my wheels with proper valve cores . and of course I never heard from him or them again. I love the service Discount Tire stores in Atlanta and in Gastonia offer, but you have to make sure you go over your recite very carefully when you purchase tires from them both. They always charge me for the tire pressure sensor kit and my truck doesn't have them. Also the store in Gastonia took my after market steel value steam caps off and put the cheap black plastic ones on. So when I went back to get the ones they took off, they couldn't find them! They did replaced them with some they sale. They are not a swag as mines but they better than the plastic ones. read more

Went in to proactively get a tire replaced and everyone I encountered was friendly. Popped in at what appeared to be a very busy time and it still only took them 30 minutes to get my tire put on. Evan assisted me and got me a used tire (that was basically brand new) for $54. He didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want and was kind enough to let me know I needed to consider getting two other tires replaced in a non-pushy way. I do not know how many set of tires I have bought here over the years. Never had any problems. I alway check to see if I can get the tires I want cheaper any place else. Never have found them cheaper any where else with the level of service you get here. They know their business. I have had flats repaired and two tires replaced due to road hazards. No questions, they just replaced the tires. One thing you need to do I learned over the years. Go online and order the tire(s) you want. Will give you final price and whether they are available at the store. You make your appointment online at the same time. That way you go to the store, you know your tires are there and you go ahead of walk-ins. Last time I went I ordered 4 tires and made my appointment online. My appointment was at 10:15. I arrived at 10:05 and the store was crowded. They checked me in and then took my truck in ahead of all the walk-ins at 10:15. At 10:35 they pulled my truck out and it was done. 30 min, 4 tires. The dude checking me out was super helpful, and even gave me a discount on the "Tire Certificates" that guarantee your tires if something damages them. Didn't take long at all to change 2 tires, quick and efficient with a very clean waiting room (which is rare in any sort of auto shop). They specialize in tires, so they are really knowledgeable which is great. And you can make an appointment online after checking prices on tires, so you know what you're getting into. Great value on a set of wheels and tires but the service was less than satisfactory. Went back 5 times before the tires were properly balanced. The first two visits after install they did nothing but attempt to add more weight to balance the tires and elevate the shaking I was experiencing. On the third visit a gentleman decided to check the tires and found they left off center pieces and a weight was found in one of the tires. (I was told this was due to things being blown around in the shop and it just happens some times). After another visit I was told the tires may be bad so they ordered a new replacement set and would call when they come in. 4 days no call. When I called I was told oh yeah they're here you can come in when you're ready. I hate that the bulk of my review is negative because everyone was super friendly but it doesn't make up for the several days and time I spent coming back before things were done properly. Sunday a centerpiece on one of the rims came off so I went back to the store and I was greeted with "What's wrong now?" Seems we're both pretty fed up with my presence here again!
