The gentleman named Kenton helped me by inspecting the tire visually to see if it was losing air. He said that I need to get a new tire and suggested not to drive on it. I went to where I purchased my tires originally since they're under warranty. This place didn't have to do any work, so there was no charge but said they'd accept a tip. i've never had to pay a tire shop to put air in my tires but they charged me $5. also that was the second time i've been there and they do something to my car and wait until after the fact to tell me what it is that they did and how much it costs, so it would be helpful if they were more transparent. but otherwise, quick and helpful service. i wouldn't come here if you just need air because you can get it cheaper/free elsewhere. read more

Tire Maxx on 2609 The Plaza rd. Charlotte,N.C. does not do honorable business. Recently I purchased five brand new tires for my 1984 Chevy El-Camino and a front break job from this company. They broke a wheel stud or lug nut but replaced it after I went to an auto parts stores and purchase the parts at my expense. They told me that they did not have the parts and would not pay for them but if I got the parts they would replace the broken part. The owner's son (little Nate) came to the shop while the work was being done and cursed his father and the caucasian repairman for doing the work free despite the fact that they had crossed threaded and broke my wheel lug nut. He told me I should have paid $200 for the damage their company did to my truck. The father whose name is Nate told me to go after the work had been completed and said I did owe any money. Two weeks later my left rear tire went flat- upon examination I found that the tire was leaking air because of a split closest to the rim. The tire on the rim was returned to Tire Maxx and the owner Nate said that the road must have caused the damage- he also refused to take the tire off the rim. The tire was taken to another used tire dealer -who removed the tire without charge and said the 14" new tire had been mounted from the wrong side which cause the tire to tear. The tire and rim were taken back to Tire Maxx and Nate-owner, refused to replace the new tire despite the fact that I had spent well over $400 for five 14" new tires and a front break job and paid for a broken front lug nut that they crossed threaded. After seeing the tire off the rim he took no responsibility for their poor workmanship. I later found out that Tire Maxx on the Plaza Rd. owners last name was Ford and he was son of the famous Ford Used tire business in Charlotte. Over the years I have purchased many tires from Fords Used Tire Company but never this location and have had good results and good business practices. I do not recommend Tire Maxx on the Plaza Rd. Charlotte,N.C. to anyone because of very poor work and business practices and hostile attitudes( by Nate's son). Reason: they get your money but do not honor their work. I would have filed this complaint with the Charlotte Better Business office but most people that buy used tires do not check to see a business rating for a used tire. If I had to give them a grade it would be an F. Update: Yesterday my left front tire has developed a leak and may have the same problem. Paid $30 to get a tire plugged and they didn't even remove the nail in the tire or plug it. Dude literally gave up on doing it and didn't let me know yet still charged me. Unfortunately I realized this several days later as the tire seemed fine as I drove off the lot. Turns out all they did was refill it which is something I could've easily done myself. Definition of bad business and now I have to go somewhere else that will actually follow through their work. This place is sketchy at best. read more

I'm so happy I found Tire Maxx! The owner has always been so helpful and all of the employees are nice, and helpful and speedy. The first time I went I had a pretty bad leak because of two nails I didn't realize I had. I thought I needed an entirely new tire, despite having just gotten new ones a year prior (I clearly had no idea what I was doing.) And while my lack of knowledge could've easily been taken advantage of, and they would've gotten a brand new tire out of it, they informed me I just needed a patch and sent me on my way after about 15 minutes and 15 dollars later! I told them I would just like to give them their tire back and receive a refund. They stalled me out for TWO hours over $30 but they had the wrong person if they thought I was leaving without my money. Everyone here is very friendly and knowledgeable. I got both tires replaced used for $35 each. Someone was even nice enough to school me things about my car that I didn't know. I'll definitely come back for future needs. Parking can be a bit squirrelly, but there is also space across the street if they get busy. I came here on a Sunday morning. Went to get a used tire and was told it was $40. Got the tire changed quickly then got everything done. Before after everything was finished was told it was instead $60 for "mounting and balancing" Which I've NEVER had to pay for a used tire. Then told the systems are down so they could only take cash, finally the receipt only documented the $40. They were quick, but wish I would have been told of ALL fees before the process started instead of after it's finished right before payment. read more

My BF purchased tires from her for my car once before with great success so he sent me back to this location. Horrible behavior and truly low class establishment. I wanted to purchase two tires and have my car balanced but the man working with me argued that I didn't need all that. I told him my car had not been balanced in over two years and he still argued. I settled with one tire and left. The tire made rubbing noises and strange sounds all the way home. I called back 9 times and finally let the phone ring till someone picked up. Rude and unhelpful was the second man I worked with as he hung out in the garage with about six of his friends. He argued that I didn't know what tire was the issue and it was in fact a good tire. Very interesting place. At first seems like good people but they are money hungry and unprofessional. I have a 2028 nissan with car no issues! I got 2 new tires from them. They forgot to put the air cap on one of my tires, didn't balance my car, and broke one of my tire sensors. I went to tell them all my problems and the owner gave me $20 to go elsewhere to get my car balanced. Weird. They told me if I buy the sensor from autozone they'll put it one for free (ignorant right considering they broke it). I went to get my sensor first at Firestone on Park Rd (btw I highly recommend them, fixed my sensor for FREE all I had to do was buy the sensor). By the way Firsestone tried to put a generic sensor on however my car wasn't responding to it, so I had to buy a sensor from the dealer. I took the receipt back to them the next day asking them to pay for the sensor they broke because nothing was wrong with my car prior to them touching it. The owner wasn't budging and wasn't trying to do anything for me, after going back and forth he gave me half for the sensor which was $50. Moral of the story do not get service here it's not worth the hassle. I tried to support a black business and all it gave me was a headache and extra uncalled for money to spend. read more
