Can't say enough about discount tire service, personnel, and honesty. The wait times are very accurate. I always try to allow 2 hours or so, knowing how busy you are every day. I see people get upset at wait times, but it's not like you don't give them very good time estimates. What I would love is a tv monitor showing the queue and remaining time, and that would help a lot of the impatient people. Your service is exemplary, great quality work. Now and then your guys forget to put the air caps back on, but I've learned to buy a bag of extras, and thanks to your tip, never use metal without plastic liner in the winter! Terrible experience here. Had a noon appointment showed up 10 min early and literally one other person there when I arrived. Was told 30-45 min I'd be done. Around 12:15-12:30 lots of people coming in with new tire needs. I noticed at least one was in and out before I'm done. I asked about my truck at 12:45 and was told bigger tires take a while longer. I'm not stupid or blind and could see they forgot about my truck. Finally done at 1:15 and found they didn't even pull a nail out of one of my old tires (that I took with me because they still had half tread left) and asked them to do. Just visited today. I'm sorry I didn't get names, but I could not be more grateful for these folks. Had a slow leak on one relatively new tire - screw in the tread. Luckily it was in a section that was patchable. i walked in without an appointment on a Monday at 11:30 and I was back on the road again by 2pm. FOR FREE! I offered to pay, but nope. Yes I have bought tires here in the past (quite a while ago and not this vehicle) but thats labor and liability even if the patch was cheap. I was at Costco filling my propane tanks for a Elk Hunt and I went in to pay for my propane and just asked about tires and you would not believe what happened . I got a set of BF Goodrich all terrain with a 50,000 mile warranty , mounting and road hazard for $ 1078. Got in my car for first time in two weeks to find my tire very low. Had to pick up my Dad at the hospital and I just needed some air to get him home, I was going to come back to have the tire checked - I was told no! Discount Tire is my top choice for tires & basic tire repair. When I've had a slow leak they diagnosed the problem, patched the hole from the nail, and charged me.... guess how much? $0. Just a smile, a firm handshake, and a polite reminder that they would appreciate my business when it is time for new tires. So, it's no mystery where I go for my tire purchases. Recently they were very helpful with acquiring a tire that was no longer produced, and went so far as to have it shipped from California. On my wife's car they gave me a great deal on a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 2's, saving me a lot of money over the dealer and some of the other competition. Appointment is a good idea but I've had equally good luck by showing up right at the opening time. Two, these guys are honest and they earn your business. They give it to you straight on your tire options, usually "good-better-best" options depending on your tire budget. Each of their tire reps/salesmen really know their product and can help steer you to the best option depending on your needs and driving style. Excellent warranties, the best customer service around, and really good products bring me back each time. They'll even text you when your car is ready to be picked up if you drop it off. If you stay and wait, the lobby is very clean, great selection of clean magazines to read (in covers that is), complimentary bottles of water, etc. This clearly is a business bent on improving what they do everyday and in my mind, they're succeeding. read more

Should be 4.5 stars! The service was great, I had new wheels and tires put on and they bagged up my old wheels tires since they were so dirty. I made an appointment and my car was taken back a few minutes early. They had my vehicle ready in 20 minutes. The paperwork was handled in only a few minutes. The installers and people who handled the paperwork were both very friendly. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience. I highly recommend them. Their prices are very, very competitive with online tire dealers as well. This particular location is nice also because you can shop at the local mall, or get a bite to eat instead of waiting in the lobby. read more

Had a slow leak in a tire on my 2008 Silverado. Took it to my nearest Discount Tire near 59th Ave & 101 - dropped it off. Got a call saying my tire was fine, but the wheel had evidently come out the loser in a pothole fight & I had a crack in the rim. To complicate things, my spare was over 10 yrs old & couldn't be used. I had an appt 150 miles away that day & was short 1 wheel & tire. I ordered a new wheel for my Silverado, but it wouldn't arrive for 2 - 3 business days. The young man waiting on me, Tyler Slater, told me to he would call me as soon as possible & see what he could do. Went back after he called & he had managed to find rim that would fit, and a gently used spare tire that allowed me to make my appt. Hey, you should come here because the employees and manager here are THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!! I stopped by here for the first time on Friday at 6pm (which is when they CLOSE... lol) because I knew something was wrong with the tire pressure and my friend said they do pressure checks for free. I hadn't even looked at my tires but the amused and kind employee came to my front window and explained that I had a completely flat tire and I couldn't drive the car anywhere. I needed to drive 45 mins to get to Tempe and this wasn't even my car. They changed the flat tire (bought from somewhere else) for me FOR FREE, stayed half an hour later than their closing time to do so, and sent me on my way. This will be my last visit to this Discount Tire. Between 3 guys laughing at me from the garage and rude behavior, I was humiliated. First they forgot to put up the cones so, you would know where to stop for the air check so, I had to wait on one of those laughing guys to assist me. Then, while one of the employees were adding air, another kept honking at me to drive a vehicle out of the bay. All in all, just rude behavior. I went in and spoke to the assistant manager but all he did was say that he would talk to them. I do not recommend this location if this is how you treat customers. read more

I formerly used this location for a number of years, shoeing both of my vehicles with new tires whenever they needed them, and not hesitating to go back. That all changed on my most recent and final visit to this location, because I could not get a simple job performed properly, nor any real accountability for the multiple mistakes made. For starters, what began as a simple rotation, re-balance and air check turned into a week long fiasco. Firstly, my tires were not balanced properly, and came out much worse than when I took them in. I'm talking teeth chattering at well below freeway speed, -that- bad. I could take it up to about 75 before I had issues, and that was right up until the point where I took them in. If anything, I hoped they'd be slightly better, but worse? How does one manage that? Furthermore, I noticed noises coming from my tires. Employees first denied there was a noise, then suggested it was the suspension. Nope! Turns out the flunkies working here had broken off some of the mounting tabs (admittedly, plastic) in my center caps and, instead of telling me or discarding the pieces discretely, they instead elected to just leave two or three chunks of plastic tumbling around inside the center cap where it meets the hub. It sounded like a can full of rocks, and I could hear it from inside the vehicle, but these clowns acted like I was insane until they pulled one of the center caps. At that point, they chucked the pieces and mashed it back on with the few mounting tabs that were left. What the hell? Of course, I later check with one of the assistant managers, after still hearing noise, and come to find out two other center caps got a similar treatment, and one of them still had pieces floating around in it too. These were all relatively new, seeing as how I had to replace them all a couple years back, so there's no excuse for breaking several of them in one go. Been coming here for many years with the same vehicle and it's never happened once, let alone multiple times in the same trip. There's bad luck and then there's just plain, half-assed work. The shop ended up buying me a new set of three center caps at their expense, and it was put to me that this happens with some regularity here, and that they get special pricing from the dealerships. For the curious, or people naive enough to think this is trivial, those center caps are north of $70 a piece, so I was not about to pay $200+ out of pocket to fix their mistake. To add insult to injury, I had to drive around for almost a week with 3 center caps missing, so my car looked like crap, while they waited for an order to come in from the dealership. What's more, as I mentioned at the outset, the balancing job was completely borked. I ended up having them re-balance not long after I went back for the new center caps, but only after talking to a regional vice president (going through corporate), where I had also voiced my concerns about the poor quality of the first balancing job and the damage to my vehicle. He assured me he would talk to the owner/manager at this location and I would be taken care of, but it didn't quite work out that way. When I returned to get the balancing done again, I got nothing but attitude from the manager. First, with my wife and I standing in the lobby and the car already parked in the lot, the guy has the nerve to ask me to pull it into one of the bays. I'm sorry, but which of us works here and which of us is the customer standing in the lobby? I'm not doing your job for you. Secondly, once he drove it into the bay himself after recklessly zooming past the lobby, I got no apology or explanation for the terrible balancing job the first time. Instead, he sent a tire tech (not another manager, just a teenage tire guy) to tell me that, "It was balanced correctly the first time, but we re-did it. It's because your tires are so worn down." That's right, he blamed me for their inability to balance a tire half as good as it was when I brought it to them in the first place. Tire wear has nothing to do with it if you managed to make it worse than it was! Thankfully, then-assistant manager Chris, stepped up and explained that they used a new machine this time which came out to a very different balancing result (flawless, even past 90mph, I later found). He apologized for the bad experience and genuinely wanted to make it right, and I sincerely believe he was the only person down there who knew what customer service was. He has since moved to the Arrowhead location, but I want to call out the fact that he was the one person who did their job and salvaged my relationship with the franchise. I never did see the owner/manager again, as he hid in the back office the entire time after the car was pulled in. Astonishing, but not surprising, given his demeanor. I will close by saying he is a real piece of work, with no clue about customer service. Because of him, I will never return to this location, nor do I recommend it. read more

I pulled in with a flat tire at 5:40, I was apologetic knowing they close at 6. They said no problem. Took care of the tire under warranty and sent me on my way.
