Their pricing is not consistent and their charge for labor is insane compared to Firestone. Quoted $750 for an oil pan that "may be damaged" while removing the drain plug. From what I read on these reviews, your employee Kyle is something special lol do not choose Greulich's. I wondered why the last two times we were in there there was NO ONE else there. Hmmm, how to find the right words to describe our service advisor Jason Tribble and the Greulich's shop and crew...?! Let's start with my truck is more than just a "truck." This is my family's safety, my safety, how we travel to see friends and family, how we create lifelong memories on the tailgate out in nature... my truck has been a pillar of our family and represents many milestones. The goal is to keep her running for as long as possible. Okay... now let's get to the facts... My truck is a 2015 Toyota Tacoma with 120k miles on it. I've been blessed with this truck but sometimes she needs to see a mechanic that cares. I'm very picky on my mechanic. What Jason does not know is I priced quotes with other mechanics and shops in the area and my father in law is a master mechanic. When I get a quote, it passes through my father in law. We needed a new mechanic as we moved into the area and our last shop became more about the profits vs. the family feel. The other shops quoted me three times the pricing that was given to me here. I was given a fair range for the 120k service along with items that would be included. Jason was honest, fair, and received two thumbs up by my father in law and by me. He was genuine, and you can tell he actually cares for his clients. It's important to me that my mechanic care about me as a person and the safety of my vehicle that carries my family. Jason and his team didn't try to sell me extra add ons nor did they pressure me into anything. They send pictures of the parts that need work along with FYIs and overall health of inspections. LOVED THIS! They answered all my dozens of questions and even allowed me to continuously add on items I was concerned or curious about (like my AC that indeed needed to be recharged and leaky hose fixed). They caught a whoopsie that my old mechanic made that could have beeb really bad. Jason and team went well above and beyond working around my schedule and making sure I was 110% on the same page before we proceeded. The pricing is fair, the work is stellar, the customer service is family vs corporate, and most importantly you can tell that they actually do care about their clientele. If you're on the fence, give them a call and have a conversation with them. From the moment Jason answered the call to the moment I picked up my truck, I feel my family has found our new vehicle doc. Customer Beware! We've been taking our vehicles to this Greulich's/Sun Auto location for years, and once again there's another issue. Took our vehicle in on 12/16/24 for an oil change. I always request up front to let me know if there are any issues noted by the technician during the inspection period and prior to taking the vehicle down from the lift so I can see what they are referring to. Again, Kyle D. didn't make me aware of any issues while the vehicle was on the lift. As I was getting ready to pay for the oil change, Kyle notified me in the inspection report that there was an oil pan leak. So, I just wasted $100 on an oil change because he chose not to notify me of the leak prior to changing my oil as I requested up front. Kyle told me to just wait to address it with the next oil change. So meanwhile, we now just let it leak until the next oil change because of Kyle's oversight. I guess we just hope that waiting doesn't cause engine damage or failure. Common sense would be to notify the customer and address and fix the issue prior to spending money on an oil change and new filter. I asked Kyle D. how many miles until the next oil change with the full synthetic oil. He said he didn't know and would have to look it up, but he didn't. I had to ask again, so he went out in the shop and asked the technician because he didn't know. I also asked Kyle for a quote for a coolant and transmission flush. He just ignored my request. I had to ask several times but never got the quote. Two Sun Valley reps were at the counter helping the guys with their new system. One Sun Valley rep told Kyle he could look up when the transmission and coolant flush were done last on carfax, but Kyle ignored the rep too and didn't do it. So again, no answers. The DM/Chris C. addresses the service issues by throwing money and comps at it instead of addressing the issues at the store and training the employees. We contacted the corporate office and were told that we would be contacted within 48 hrs. It's been 2 weeks and we've received no return call. It's obvious that Greulichs/Sun Auto doesn't care about the customer. We will no longer beg this place to take our money. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!! Horrible place!! I took my car in for a check up, to which they mentioned the battery was starting to get low. I didn't notice anything that indicated the battery was low so I had at least a little more juice left in it. Anyways, they call me way too late, an hour before they close and tell me that I need to pay $400 for the battery replacement. MY CAR IS 20 YEARS OLD!! And that's a ridiculous price to be paying for something like that! And since they called me way too late, I couldn't pick up my car. I come in today on Tuesday to pick up my car and do it MYSELF since their price was absolutely unreasonable, and to my surprise the car is completely dead! Now I'm not a mechanic but I know damn well, that's not how it works! There's no way my car was doing completely fine and then the battery is completely dead after leaving it overnight. Now I'm forced to try to reason with these guys and forced to buy their stupid overpriced services. Feels VERY malicious and planned out! It took me six years living in AZ but I have finally found my go to automotive repair shop. I grew up in a very small rural town and we had an excellent local family owned shop. They were very honest and reliable. There are a lot options and finding one in the area was a bit overwhelming. I have tried several with mixed results. More bad then good. None that I was able to say. Yep, this is what my expectations are. When our 2015 Dodge Journey check engine light came on I needed a mechanic. The sooner the better. I never expected the negative situation to turn into very positive one. From the first call the customer service was flawless. Very friendly and welcoming. I was able to get it in the same day. When I explained I did not have a ride home I was offered a ride although I'm sure that may not be the norm. Little did I know. It was a perfect opportunity to meet another member of the team and learn a bit about the shop. When I dropped off the vehicle we spoke about doing a close inspection as our warranty is expiring soon. They not only fixed the electrical problem causing the check engine light but found other repairs covered under our warranty that needed to be done. Communication was spot on. Keeping me updated on progress and an idea on pricing the whole way. Then a call when completed. Although the warranty covered the repairs. I looked over the invoice carefully and the pricing was still fantastic. I was able to get several repairs that would have cost over $3000 done for my $100 deductible. I have since taken in our other vehicle. It has almost 250,000 miles on it. Needless to say it is not under warranty. The customer service level and pricing was again flawless. I had several repairs at a price well below what I expected. It will now pass emissions and ready for several thousand more miles. I am sure they could have nickel and dimed me with repairs worth more then the car. After 20 years in the customer service industry I appreciate excellent service. I know many others also look closely at reviews and rely heavily on them like I do. Greulich's Automotive Repair earned every bit of this 5 star review and more. Thank you for earning my business. I'm a pretty good mechanic In this case, I just didn't have the time to do the work I have a 98 Chevy Silverado C 1500 pickup and I have a new in the box AC/Delco rear wheel cylinder I need put on it Yes, I pulled the rear brake drum and that's the culprit I called and spoke with Nick, he didn't call me back with the estimate so I called again Yes, I was born at night but not last night He told me the labor only was $467 Seriously? To replace ONE rear wheel cylinder? He then went on to say he'd throw in a brake flush with new fluid Seriously? Then he stated it took 2.5 hours of labor to replace ONE REAR WHEEL CYLINDER Seriously? Does the mechanic only have ONE arm? I then proceeded to call three other area shops and the AVERAGE total was $179 Seriously? I see they have lots of 5-star reviews but I can't for the life of me see how Listen, folks, if your hard-earned money is as valuable to you as it is to me I would check around before I let this shop touch my vehicle CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST HERE UPDATE! Went to another shop first for a noise in my front end related to I thought my steering or suspension. That other shop tried to rip me at $2100 estimate. Took to Grulichs for 2nd opinion. Their estimate was less than a 3ed of the first shop. I am very happy and would recommend them to anyone. Btw they also do the imports as well such as the German cars. So dont go to the dealer!! Took my car here a month ago for a quote to see what was wrong with my '00 car. They this the diagnostic like always - that was understandable. I get a call telling me the need to change the starter ($400) because it wasn't working. It was 100% fine before that! Ended up doing that because I had to and wasn't able to drive it without. I took it to another place afterwards for a diagnostic and everything. The starter wasn't the issue. I ended up fixing it for way less than I needed to. To preface this, I did not get service there. Better, I sent my daughter there with her truck for an oil change. Blonde hair, blue eyes, the perfect bait. I know her truck well so when she goes someplace I elicit her feedback on how they treat her, do they attempt to wallet flush, etc. she came back with a glowing report. They did point out a few leaks ( it's a '98 dodge) but other than that they did what she asked, treated her with respect, didn't try to rebuild the truck around the oil change. Bravo! read more

I went to an express oil change place and my vehicle started leaking oil. I took my car back to the express oil change place and was treated horribly like I am a stupid girl when questioning them and was lied to by this place as well. I called this morning and explained to Shawn what happened. He told me to bring it in and they would look at it for me which they did. I scheduled an appointment to have a noise from rear wheel/tire area of my vehicle. I thought it might be wheel bearing or axel issue. They checked everything out and said the tires may need to be replaced, but everything else was OK. No charge for the inspection and no service charges. After a complete inspection they made a mention of a few future things to consider and I was finished. Amazing to me that they provided that service free of charge. I rebuilt the front end on my chevy crew cab and did not have time to take it to network alignment or gary's alignment who I have used since childhood. I decided to try this shop as it was new in the neighborhood and I was just getting it aligned, worst decision ever. I went in and spoke to Mike and told him the work I had done. Mike looked at my truck and said it may not fit on their rack and he would have to check with the tech. Mike came back and said it would fit. Mike then told me it would cost more then a normal alignment due to the front end being new and needing a-lot of adjustment. I was a little taken back at that statement but went with it due to time constraints. I have never paid more then $89 on any of my other vehicles in which I had done the same work when going to network or gary's. Mike called me about 2 hours later and said it was ready, $150. I picked it up and drove it and noticed it pulled to the left and the steering wheel was not straight. Due to time I did not take it right back. This truck is our third vehicle and lives in our garage and is only used to pull our toys which is about 5000 miles a year. I finally got around to taking it back a couple weeks later and Mike said they would take a look at it so I left it with them again. While waiting in line I watched Mike give a Walmart employee a $3,000 estimate on her car. Unlike other shops I have dealt with where they prioritize work, Mike did not. It was all or nothing. Clearly they want to make money off anyone and everyone. Mike called me and said it was off but they fixed it. I picked it back up and it still pulled left. Not wanting to go back a third time I disputed the charge and took it to network. Network charged me $69 and I drove away with a perfect alignment. Frustrated I disputed the $150 charge with my credit card. Greulich's disputed back claiming my vehicle was modified and that was why they could not get it right, which is a lie. My truck is stock with new original manufacturer parts. Save your money and keep driving to a shop that can get the job done right the first time. Brought my car in for an oil change using my own oil and filter; the car has always had Mobil1 and I prefer to keep using the same oil. When I picked up my car I asked if the mechanic left the unused oil in the vehicle, I brought in a 5 Qt bottle and there should have been half a quart left over. The service advisor went out to my car and we looked for the bottle, not there. He went into the service bay to look for it, came out with a quart of full synthetic and said the mechanic had left and he didn't want to keep me waiting. Sounded fishy but I took the quart and left. When I got home I checked the dip stick and the oil had definitely been changed, but when I checked the filter, the bright orange Fram filter I brought in had been replaced with a dull grey one.
