I'd been having issues with a tire. I went to a different location at another point where the customer service was awesome but I didn't have enough time to wait. Here I came around 5OM after work and joined a quite long cue. I was given a worse prognosis in my tires than the other location gave just earlier that day. I was quoted a 1.5 hour wait. People who came in after me left before me but I can't say what they needed or if they had an appointment. 2 hours later I checked in because I needed to pickup my dog and was tired of being there. After 2 hours they told me they couldn't fix the tire and I needed a new one. I asked for pricing and they said hold on and checked out 2 other customers instead. I asked them to just put my tire back on as it wasn't completely flat and instead they put it to the side. I again asked for it to be put on so I can go. They were clearly very busy but they stayed past closing time to complete the people who arrived before closing. They just turned out to be utterly useless for me. read more

The best thing is when the sales person tries to upsell on your purchase just walk away. The longer you talk to the salesperson you will end up purchase the higher price tires. Lame location. 40+ minutes waited in front of long line for air. Needed 3 pounds in one tire. Never happened, they would just walk by looking at the line, and looking at each other "like what do we do?" I don't know, all you have to do is put a nozzle on on another nozzle and then turn on the pump, and it does the rest for you! It's easy how about taking care of the customers that are there for a quick little deal. 40 minutes. I came to this location after ordering a new tire online. When I got there it took forever for them to put my car in line but I thought maybe it's just because I didn't have an appointment. Finally after being there for over an hour they pull my car around and it's time to go. It was my mistake to not check and trust that everything was good because I got in the car and my tire pressure light was still on which was odd, but I figured maybe they didn't put air in all the tires or something. I get home and a few hours later I go to use my car and my supposed to be brand new tire is completely flat. I've put air in it and it won't stay full. I'm not sure what is going on but this is not at all acceptable. I'm very irritated with this. Did give 2 stars for them actually putting on the tires, but they will try to swindle you and have questionable business ethics. Came here to get new tires for my car since it had been four years. Checked online and they had a set for $400 so I chose Discount tire. Came to the one by my apartment and when I walk in, they say the cheapest they can go is $565. I informed them I will shop around and come back at a different time if that ends up being the cheapest, and they asked me why. I informed them I had seen some tires on their website for $400 and so the clerk said he would check with his manager. He came back and what do you know, they "found" the cheaper tires. As odd as that was I just chalked it up to them trying to sucker customers into paying more for tires. Then, after waiting for a while, one of the clerks came out with one of my lug nuts damaged (see picture.) He informed me that the nut was damaged when taking off the wheel and I needed to buy a new set for $50-100. I have owned this car for 6 years and changed/rotated the tires multiple times. I have never had a lug nut get damaged. Ever. After questioning why I would need to pay for a part they damaged, he informed me this was a common problem and I needed to replace all of the lug nuts for $50. After requesting he let me inspect the other lug nuts I saw that there was only one damaged. I also found the lug nuts for sale online for $13 on my phone. After realizing I wasn't buying the lug nuts he informed me he would replace the one lug nut free of charge. They did, however, end up putting the tires on. Everything discount tire use to stand for went out the window, they charge a premium for everything besides a flat patch IF they will do it, it's $40 to throw away tires that are recycled. To balance tires it cost $88 before tax which is absolutely insane considering the weights cost less than 50 cents and the machine used for balancing has been paid off from the various tire changes they have to preform anyways, they didn't have to buy a separate machine for balancing and rotation. Quality of service has always been terrible but it's got worse the more expensive it's gotten... Might as well start going to Firestone again or NTB! read more

In town from Fort Worth. Backstory: I had 2 rear tires put on about 2 weeks ago at the Fort Worth camp Bowie location. While driving down to Houston last night (and driving upwards of 75 or so) the car felt "wobbly" off and on or like it was on ice on occasion. Like the car isn't grounded.... My sons and I were planning on shopping but instead had to make a trip to DT to figure this problem out. We arrived at 10:45 or so and had my car pulled in to the bay by 11:20. Not bad. They seemed pretty busy for a Thursday. The employees seemed helpful that it might be just a balance issue. So upon receiving the car back , the tech said EACH tire was off balance.! Seems Camp Bowie location missed something? Before finishing this review, we drove around Houston the rest of the day, in traffic and on freeways. GOT IT!! and the car feels back to it's old self. I always frequent this location and always have great service. I have been coming here for years to service my dodge durango. Today i bought two new tires. After receiving my keys after the service was complete, i walked out to my car. While walking to my car, i was being cat called by the service men in the garage. Cat calling is sexually suggested remarks. It was innocent and I would have ignored it, but then one of the men decided to yell "She can get this d*ck anytime!" I immediately got in my car and called the store. I spoke with JJ in the lobby and informed him what had just happened and how inappropriate and unacceptable what had just been said to me. I'm a big fan of Discount Tire. I've always had great experience at almost any Discount Tire stores that I've visited - busy or not - but this location was pretty meh. One of the busiest Discount Tire locations that I've visited is the one that's located on E TC Jester and 20th St. However, even at that location, I don't usually have to stand in line before someone would help me. At this location? My first visit, I probably waited in line for almost 25 minutes before someone was able to help me. And at this time, it was almost closing time (I came after work) so he suggested that I make an appointment for the next day, which I did. The following day when I showed up for my appointment, again I had to wait a while before being helped. Granted, I didn't have to wait as long as my first visit, but it was still longer than my typical visit to any other Discount Tire (even the Discount Tire on Westheimer/Jeanetta before they moved to Hillcroft). And you would think that since I had an appointment, they would take care of my car almost immediately, right? Nope, not the case - I still had to wait a bit until they got to my car. They offer everything that Discount Tire has to offer: free water, free tire patch, friendly people, price matching, etc. I would still go to Discount Tire for all my tire needs (unless I find some tires on clearance somewhere else that is), but I think I'm going to go to other locations for faster service. read more

I brought in my brand new Work 3 piece wheels, they had 4 different tire techs work on my wheels and put scratches and all 4 wheels. On 3 of the wheels, the scratches were minor. But for 1 of them the scratches were really deep. I spoke to Jose, and admitted fault for some of the damage but not all. He told me that they would take care of it, all they had to do was file a claim. A few days later I got an email from Gina Stills from Fleet Response saying the denied all fault. read more

For Saturday of a holiday weekend, I was surprised to get service immediately. Robert came out to check my tires and even gave me his tire gauge after I explained to him I didn't have one! He reassured me we would get the issue fixed. This location has cold water and coffee for you while you wait, which I was grateful for. When they took my car back, they found a nail in the tire. I have been your loyal customer for the past 22 years. I ONLY bought tires from Discount Tires (recommended by my late Dad) took care of rotate/balance/repair etc. Anyway, I got pretty angry yesterday when I took my Honda Fit sport to your another store on Long Point trying to install all 4 new tires. Alexis told me that the team wasn't able to replace the right rear tire because the stud was broken! He asked me where I did the last tire maintenance at. I told him it was over at the Hillcroft one since it was closed to my home! Again, I never let any other places to deal with my car for tire jobs. At first, Alexis told me that I had to fix it. Then I said nope; the Hillcroft store should take care of it! I used to love them and trust them. But not anymore! They broke the stud. They had many customers there all the time and I bet in order to rush me out. They did some lousy jobs to get by. This is very unacceptable. Alexis found out what happened. He got me the repair form and I had to go to Blalock collision center to book an appointment in person. The owner Abbott will call me when he gets the stud in. It was extremely troublesome to drive there back and forth to deal with this crap. I had to take off from my work (half day yesterday was gone). I had to go back to the mechanic then back to your long point store in order to get this all done. I just bought 4 new tires from you guys. Maybe you can do something about this mess!!!!! Big improvement from their recent location at the intersection of Jeanetta and Westheimer! They went from sharing a parking lot with other businesses in a shopping strip, to having their own piece of land & the parking lot is HUGE! The last time I went for an air check at the previous location, it got so hectic with cars forming a line/having to pull into a parking space, then backup, along with cars coming from different directions - it was chaotic. I went in this morning for an air check, and they now have cones at the end of the lot that you'll follow (kind of like a drive-thru) - you won't miss it, they have 2 cones that say "free air check" on them. The workers are super friendly and there's so many parking spaces now - it makes me so happy! Plus.. I'm super happy because this is now much closer to me and it's way easier to get to. read more

Had a nail on my passenger's front tire and the nearest Discount Tire on Jeanetta and Westheimer shut down last year, so this location is the closest. Pulled in around 9:30 am and there was several customers ahead of me. There were 3 men working the counters and Josue helped me. He examined where the location of nail and said it's irreparable. His recommendation was to replace both front tires as they don't just replace one side. Getting two new tires was certainly not in my budget but it's dangerous to drive with a nail on the road. He then suggested a different brand and reduced to a lesser quote where I decided to get them for safety sake. He quoted about 2 hours and I signed up for the mobile text notifications. It was around noon when my car was ready. The receipt showed Discount Tires charges for installation, disposal and road hazard which I opted out. They don't perform alignment and rotated the tires. I have been a customer for more than a decade and Discount Tires can really use more staffs at the counter to minimize customers' wait time. read more
