Have used them for almost 10 years now but service has taken a major downturn recently. Bought new snow tires (from them) at the end of the season last year and now can't get an appt to have them install them for this winter season. On-line appt's are booked for a month (no appts), on-line chat can't schedule more than 30 days out and no one picks up the phone (rings for 30+ times, goes to recorded message and thing rings again with no pick up). Maybe just a sign of the times in the valley but I'm done with them. I imagine I'm not alone ... If you read the response it sounds like they really want to help but its AI directing me to complain directly to their central costomer service dept. read more

I scheduled an appointment at Discount Tire a week in advance for 1:00 PM, thinking that by setting an appointment, my vehicle would be taken in around that time. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, I was told there would be a one to one-and-a-half-hour wait before my car would even be ready. I explained that I had made the appointment specifically to avoid waiting that long, but was told they "always tell customers to plan for an hour and a half." That was not communicated to me when I scheduled. Unfortunately, it ended up taking two and a half hours before my vehicle was finally ready. The staff was polite enough, but the point of scheduling an appointment in advance should be to avoid such a long wait. Very disappointing experience and a waste of an afternoon. read more

Extremely long wait (2 hours +) even with an appointment. What's the point of having an appointment? No communication with the customer about the longer waiting time so you won't know anything about it. They also serviced customers that came in after me. Hit and miss, free road hazard is worthless, I had a tire that was going flat, so I ran it in and decided to have the tires rotated as well. Did not have time and it took 6 hours to fix a valve stem that probably should have been replaced when the tires were put on. The sales person did not say " hey we can reschedule the tire rotation at a different time' nothing . I like how they act like they own the business " I cannot tie up one of my lifts for just tire rotation" but if I was spending $1500 on tires they would have. So its all the same there is no real tire service available anywhere. This was also related to a commercial account as I have several vehicles that need tires. My daughter went into this business with a flat tire. They tried to force her into replacing all her tires, (1,500.00) and even took her wheel so she could not get it fixed elsewhere. We got her wheel back (they said we were lucky they didn't throw it away) and when we got back in town we took it the car to another tire shop where they fixed the tire for free, and said the wheel was fine. I usually hate dealing with this stuff, so I ordered online and scheduled an appointment. The day of, I went in and was greeted by Joe. Freaking awesome guy. Incredibly personable and the best possible kind of guy to run into here. They got me in right away (as scheduled) and come to find out... I'm an idiot and bought 17" tires when I needed 16". Joe politely came out, told me of my mistake, and took the liberty to give me a pair of in-store 16"... of slightly more value! I mean... what are we talking about!? This kind of this just doesn't happen in the corporate world anymore. But Joe knows how to operate in a small community and you can beat your butt I'll be referring people here for a long long time because of it! I had to make a reservation a couple of weeks out due to both the availability of the Goodyear tires I wanted and for a time slot to put them on. Got a call when the tires arrived (early) and offered opportunity to try and move schedule ahead. However, I decided to keep my original appointment because of scheduling conflicts. Day of appointment I got there early since I had another task next door and they were able to push the schedule up slightly. They did a professional job and I was pleased. Several months later, my other vehicle got a nail in the tread and they were willing to try and schedule it in (I had purchased these tires at a different place) at no cost. Just picked my car up today from Discount tires. I had a leak in my tire and wasn't sure if it could be repaired. They told me that if it was fixable, it would be free of charge. Looks like I'm not the only one reporting this issue happening at this location. I purchased the tires at their Helena location and those guys were great. I wanted to have my tires, rotated and balanced, which is part of the deal when you buy tires from them. In order to avoid waiting in line forever, I made an appointment for 8:30 this morning that I had to make 3 weeks ago. I show up and check in, the guy pulls up my account and I'm certain he decided it was time for me to buy new tires before he even went outside. I purchased the tires 5/2019 and I'm certain he assumed there would be 40-50,000 miles on my 50,000 mile tires due to them being over a year and a half old, but in reality they only have 17,000 miles. He heads outside to check the mileage and comes back in to tell me the front tires are completely smooth on the inside and the cords will be showing soon, so the are "unserviceable" and can't be rotated or balanced. Before he could go into his sales pitch I said, "Well, I guess I'll put it up on my lift at home and take a look for myself." His response to that was, uhhhh uhhhh. I take a quick look in the parking lot and it was exactly what I had suspected and not the dire situation he blatantly lied about in an effort to make a sale. When I got home, I put it on the lift and rotated the tires myself. There is some wear on the inside of the front tires, but nothing like his completely false claims and scare tactics. Just to be perfectly clear about the condition, I have a picture below. Never again, Discount Tire! You just lost a loyal customer. We paid $768 for all-season tires last August. COP Discoverer AT3 4S brand and style. We have only put about 12k miles on them, and Discount Tire gave us a tire mileage warranty of 65k miles. The tires are completely bald in sections already. All I can say is thank you. Came in today after blowing a tire while on vacation. Everyone was great service was amazing fast. I was 25 minutes from the time I handed my keys to them until they where done and handed them back. I went to the new Discount Tire and they were terrific! They put my tires on free of charge! You can also make an appt. for service in a hour. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I bought two other sets of winter tires from them after they placed my initial tires on. I will be going to them from now on. They had awesome customer service and Collin went above and beyond. I had bought a new set of tires less than a year ago (16,000 miles on them so far) for $80ish each. Today, after coming in with a a flat needing to be repaired, I was told I needed new tires because my alignment was slightly off. Not only was the tire's tread not anywhere close to the wear bar, but they were also charging me $110 for ONE new tire, while acting 'graciously' saying they waived the other fees for me. This not only aggravated me because of the significant increase in price for ONE tire (wouldn't that inherently mess up my alignment), but LITERALLY the fact that the tire was fine and they were just trying to make money off me. They have a very archaic scheduling system. We scheduled the tire appointment three weeks ahead of time to make sure we got on the road for our trip but they still managed to put low priority on getting my vehicle done and didn't do our vehicle as promised first of the day. They had a notebook that was handwritten and nobody had accurate scheduling times as promised on the day of scheduling. They delayed our trip by hours. The female behind the counter was extremely rude and put the blame on the customer that somehow I didn't understand the process despite me taking a lot of effort to assure accurate scheduling. I spent $1700 at Discount Tires (Kalispell) on snow tires, they took the valves out of my regular tires an left me with 4 flat tires. I specifically told them to not put the extra tires into my car, multiple times. I have white upholstery in the back of my infinite. I told Discount tires that I would come back later and pick them up with my truck. I come to get my Infiniti and they were stuffing the flat into the back on the while upholstery. They where pushing them in hard because the tires didn't fit. Plus the tires were Flat. I came to discount tires with good tires that are now flat and my upholstery is now messed up. Complete incompetence. I am to pissed off at them, to go back. I would rather go to Les Schwab and pay them extra money to fix the Discount tire (Kalispell) mess up. I made an appt at the beginning of September for studded tires and rims. Appt set for 10/23. Arrived early. Only 3 of the 4 tires arrived (I fully understand, the store and employees cannot control supply chain). The issue, No One called to let me know prior, so I drove 40 minutes only to find out there was no appointment. DT had 2 months to order the tires but didn't order them until a couple weeks prior (per a phone conversation I had 2 weeks prior to my appt, when I called to confirm). Fast forward - I was told they would call me Monday 10/25 and get me in on Tues. No call, no one answers for 3 days now. Go in on Tuesday, told 4th tire has not arrived. Drive back in on Wed, told, very rudely, that my tire is there (and has been for 2 days) but I cannot get them installed since I don't have an appt. (What the heck?) When asked when I can get my tires, employee says that I would need to leave the car all day for any appointment since they are booked for the month of November. I made the original appt 2 months prior and planned to have another person with me so we could leave the car (that was the 23rd). That scenario, of leaving the car for the entire day, is not an option any longer, particularly since DT made the mistake(s). While supply chain issues are out of their control, we've all lived with this issue for 17 months, and knowing the issues, they should have planned appropriately, ordered the tires when I made the appt and called to let me know prior. Fairly simple. I spoke to another tire store and they order ahead and in larger quantity so they don't have these issues and have the tires in their shop. Discount Tire has always been my go to, but after this chain of events I will no longer by tires at this location.
