Terrible Experience - Avoid Les Schwab in Kalispell, MT I brought my Sprinter van to Les Schwab specifically for a front-end alignment and to replace my front tires, which were badly worn due to the alignment issue. Josh was my customer service rep. I dropped off the van on Wednesday, September 25, and the next day, Josh called to inform me that two of my rims were cracked. He said they might be replaced under warranty but that I would have to pay upfront and hope for reimbursement later, with no guarantee of getting my money back. No pictures were provided to verify the cracked rims before they sent them off to the manufacturer, leaving me with no way to confirm their claim. Josh also quoted me $411 per tire--a shocking $130 more than what I was quoted at Discount Tire. But it gets worse. A week later, Josh called again to say that my front brakes needed replacing for $920, which was $420 more than what I paid last time for the same service at a different shop. I declined because by then I was feeling completely taken advantage of. After two full weeks, I finally called to check on the van. When I went to pick it up on Wednesday, October 9, Josh apologized and informed me that they never completed the alignment--the entire reason I brought the van in--because it turns out their equipment couldn't handle the size of my vehicle. He admitted that he forgot to tell me, meaning my van had sat there for two weeks without the primary service being done! This entire experience was unacceptable. I honestly don't blame Josh personally--he's clearly trained and incentivized to gouge customers instead of providing quality service. The manager, Todd, stepped in to "fix" the problem by not charging me for the wheels they were going to get reimbursed for anyway. This is not how a reputable business should operate. I strongly urge anyone needing car service to avoid Les Schwab in Kalispell at all costs. Their pricing is outrageous, communication is terrible, and their service is a joke. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere--this place is as shady as it gets! read more

Happened quite a few years ago- Neighbor up the hill from us lost a wheel and it slammed into my pickup parked in driveway-left a decent dent. Les Schwab had worked on his rig and new hire didn't torque the lugnuts. I went to Schwab with neighbor's info and they took full responsibility, told me to get my estimates and return. When I returned they took the estimates and cut me a check for the highest amount in less than 10 mins. I call that class. No BS, no runaround, just owned the mistake, apologized and made it right on the spot. Hope nothing has changed there. Thanks, Les Schwab! read more

Took our Honda in for a brake and suspension check as the wife and I are doing a lot of hiking at high elevations. I was fairly sure that I had a loose tie rod. Dropped it off first thing in the morning and got a call 2 hours later that everything in fact looked good and there where no needed repairs. The staff was very pro and friendly. What's not to like. Where most shops would have created a problem to help their bottom line of at least charge for the inspection (which I understand) they did neither. My husband and I just put on my new snow tires. The next day the TPMS light came on! It's my daughters car so I had no idea what that light was. She had no idea! So of course I went straight to Les Schwab tire Center! Well it's the beginning of the season, and tire shops are busy! I thought all I needed was some air in my tire so they kind lady behind the counter said go ahead and pull up to the first bay and they will check it out. Well when he came out and looked at it he realized and told me that these tires need to be "re-learned into the computer system. Luckily for me a bay just opened up and he had me drive right in. It was a complicated process took a couple of guys about five minutes! Letting air out, putting air in. Re-setting each wheel with a scanner. These people are liars. I went in to have my brakes inspected. They said I needed new rotors, calipers and pads. I did need new pads but not the other things and they wanted to charge me $950. A friend of mine who is a mechanic told me the calipers and rotors were in good condition and he replaced them for way less. Do not trust Lea Schwab and do not take your car here unless you want stuff done that is not necessary. Update- it's not "how I feel" as stated from the owner it's blatant lying that caused me to write this. Telling your customers that they need parts replaced when it's not the case is unacceptable. If I truly needed them replaced I would have gladly paid the $945. So it had nothing to do with saving money or feelings. It had everything to do with doing business with liars. I will never do business with Lea Schwab tires again, and I've spent a small fortune there. read more

We were in Kalispell from out of state when the low tire sensor went off in the Jeep. Not one, but two tires significantly low so we stopped in. They fixed both tires -- nails in each -- and didn't charge us. And over the Labor Day weekend, at that. They recommended a good place nearby for some eats and a brew while we waited. Thanks guys! Bought my tires from Les Schwab and that includes tire rotations and balancing. The last time I went in and had my tires rotated they knocked some weights off and my car was driving horribly so I Made an appointment and still sat there for an hour, they didn't even touch my car. I was leaving town and needed to get a axle u joint done in a hurry and couldn't use my normal mechanic. Of course I get the call that the other side u joint is bad and the hub is horrible blah blah blah. Well not wanting to take chances I have it done. Les Schwab charged me $115 per u joint for parts only. A spicer u joint for my pickup is $55. For the hub they charged $436 in parts plus labor. A MOOG ( top of the line) hub,which they did not use, is $229. I asked the salesman while he was checking me out why parts were so over the top expensive. He replied well I don't know b/c they are. I proceeded to tell him what the parts cost at the parts stores and he turned around and said have a nice day and walked back into the shop. I get if you want to make a few bucks on parts, but over double cost and then charging labor. Sorry Les Schwab, you've lost my business and eveyone I can tell I will recommend they not use you as well. You done screwed up!! Les Schwab in Kalispell is great! The staff are all trustworthy, friendly, knowledgeable, but most importantly personable. I have been in the Kalispell Les Schwab twice this summer (once to fix a deflated tire that was wobbling, and once to patch a hole after driving over a screw). Not only did they assist me free of charge, but they did it in a very timely manner. They sure know how to keep their customers coming back! I love les schwab in general but they really went to extra mile. They don't take appointments but I live over an hour and a half away and needed new brakes. They had me in their lineup for the day and had my car getting worked on in less than five min. The brake job went super fast and came in under initial cost estimates. read more
