I've been coming to this location for all my tires and tire maintenance for several years and I've never had a bad experience. I also never felt strongly enough to write a review. But now they have taken service to a new level and you should be a customer. When I ordered the wrong size tires online and showed up for my appointment, Sam was very helpful and professional in explaining my options and didn't pressure me at all when I said I needed to think about it. (The tires that actually fit my car were several hundred dollars more.) I went home and did my research but couldn't find a better deal anywhere else so I called to tell Sam I would just buy 2 instead of 4. His exceptional customer service skills kicked in and he helped me come to a solution that allowed me to replace all 4 as I originally wanted. Such a good experience! read more

After having my truck sit at the Firestone by Katy Mills for 7hours to get some new wheels I bought installed I went up there and saw they hadn't even touched it. 830-430 and I go up there and the manager says they were just fixing to pull it in. I took my , keys raced down to Discount on Katy Freeway in Katy 15 min before they closed and they still took care of me. These guys are the best hands down. I came here to get a general inspection of my tires before our trip to Colorado. I made sure to make an appointment online first and I was actually attended to earlier than my appointment. Upon review, I was told that my tires were actually fine to take to Colorado and back, but they suggested that for the added security on icy roads, to at least change one of my tires. I ended up changing two tires after all, with warranty. I dropped my car off around noon, and picked it up at the end of the day- no problem. They had place markers on the floor in the waiting area, had separated the chairs out for social distancing, and even had a tent set up outside for people who did it feel comfortable going inside. They were very friendly from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this location to a friend! read more

Ryan, Blake and their team when I called back after ordering them I had to tell them per officer we needed the tires ASAP being we were blocking a lane they were quick to getting us what we needed!! *Update* I have always purchased my tires from Discount Tire and have never had any problems until now. My wife's car needed 4 new tires, so I brought it in and talked to one of the salesmen. He recommend the Pirelli p6. They have never steered me wrong before, so I purchased the Pirelli. Less than 3k miles later, one of the sidewalls failed and left my wife stranded on I10 between Sealy and Katy at night. After doing some research, it turns out these tires are prone to having the sidewall fail, without cause. Apparently the sidewall is very thin (see pics). Not really happy that they would recommend a tire that has so many reports of blowouts. Yes, in the future I will check all the reviews before I purchase any other tires. Discount did replace the tire under warranty for $14. However that doesn't change the fact that after spending almost $600, I still have unsafe tires on the car, plus damage to one of the wheels. *2nd Update* I went back to the store again and talked to the Assistant manager Darrell who was very unpleasant. He really didn't care and thought it was humorous that my wife was stranded. I had to ask to talk to the store manager 4 times before Darrell would get him. Talked to Doug the store manager next. His solution was for me to spend another $225.00 to exchange them for the Yokohama. Not going to happen, especially after I just spent a lot on the Pirellis. I ended up having to call the Corporate office and spoke with the VP Mr. Perry. We agreed that all I would need to spend is the difference between the two tires. Works for me as that is all I wanted to do in the first place. Set up an appoint with Robert who works at the store. He was very nice and helped me with the exchange. $69.00 dollars later I now have 4 safe tires on my car. Would have been nice if they had done this in the first place. I will still get my tires from discount in the future but probably not from this location. read more

There was huge gash on my front driver side of my tire and I was lucky that I didn't have a blow out while driving on the 59! Typically, I always had to ordered my tires which sometimes results in waiting 3-5 days. Sometimes, Sterling McCall Hyundai had them in stock but I wanted to avoid paying full price since I planned on getting a pair for the front. So I got online and found that Continental tires can fit my car and they were only in stock at the Katy location. The next morning I was talking to my car to please let me make it from my home to Katy. I called the location in advance to see if they can see me immediately and reserve those two tires. Torran told me yes and to please come on in. I drove my car carefully, avoiding every bump and crack on the road. As soon as I arrived and parked my car in one of the number lots, I was greeted right away. I ask for Torran and he was standing right in front of me, lol. He quickly took my payment and did tell me there was a bit of a wait because of the customers who had appointments. I told him I didn't care and I was willing to wait. I didn't feel safe driving with a gash in my tire. So I made myself comfortable, sat on one of the red stools and just watch the guys run around the shop. I found it interesting how fast they were working and the random screams. Not sure if it meant anything like for safety reasons. Almost 50 minutes have gone by and my car was finally done. They called my name and drove my car to the front. I yelled "Thank you guys!" on the way out and was just happy to have my tires taken care of. Piss Poor Service!! I have been a loyal Discount Tire customer alllll over the country. This one is right by my house. Im not sure if its new management or what but the service SUCKS! I brought my 2017 F250 in to get a simple tire repair cuz it has a slow leak. The "Salesman" kept telling me how I need new tires soon and how they may not be able to get the repair. I said ok, lets cross that bridge when we get there. Ok. "I might need to put the spare on it". Ok well let me know if the leak is that bad. It took 3 1/2 HOURS to do the repair. I've been coming to this location for a couple of years and there's a reason why. All employees that work here are so friendly and helpful. They never try to push a sale on me and they continue to be honest and considerate. The services are pretty quick, even when they are busy on the weekends and they really strive to make sure every customer is a happy customer and i appreciate that touch of service. I had to get 2 tires changed out because of low tread and the employees took care of the problem and gave me great recommendations on brands of tires and performance reviews. The air light came up, so I thought I would do a quick run to this Discount Tire location on my work break on Saturday. Here I am sitting in the worst line ever seen, all coz there's only one man works on the air pressures, but he always walks back and forth doing other tasks in between. The car line is so long, it's all the way out on the freeway feeder. The "air" man goes back and forth to the end of the line directing cars if they should move an inch or two... well, if you focus on actually putting the air, or delegate one person to the task, you may not have the long line problem. I understand the service is free, but I get my tires purchased here all the time paying for all kind of mark ups. And if you provide a free service to honor your customers loyalty, then be on point about that service just like you would've been if it it were a paid service. Also, you know very well that after the temperature drops, you will have lots of cars coming for the air check. So why can't you use your knowledge and manager acumen to schedule an extra person knowing there will be a huge line? I've been to different Discount Tire locations, but here I am sitting for 35 minutes in line with 6 more cars ahead of me. So 1 hour plus for the air check?... I extra star for the team working hard. PS: I actually had the original review at 2 stars, but when I finally had my car pulled up, the "air" guy was super friendly and smiling. They had music jamming in the garage, and it was creating positive, upbeat environment for the people working hard there. Bad experience today, I'm not sure what the point is of making an appointment when you have to wait 41 minutes for your car to finally be seen. If I hadn't got out my chair to ask what place I was in I wonder how long would it have added more to my wait. Don't offer appointments if you cant honor them, customers put themselves on a schedule to be prompt not to wait longer. Oh here's something they don't want the customer to know if you have a larger car with larger tires, get comfy the associates there avoid heavier tires grant it that's what they do for their pay. read more

They were busy and staff we're helping customers but when I got to the front desk everyone had left, no customers in the lobby or line and only 1 employee at the desk now. I just stood there while he never looked up. 1 guy said I'll be with you in a little bit and walked off and out. Never returned while I just stood there. I finally looked at the 1 guy at the desk and said "do you think you could help me"? His response was "the other guy is coming back". He NEVER came back and I just stood there and almost walked out. I just bought this car and needed new tires I walked in and was greeted by Sam Garcia he really helped me out and suggested me another tire instead of my original plan to get one. He told me my other tire needed to be replace and explained why. We then walked in and we handled the payment and was then when I knew Sam was the best help I had. I've been coming to Discount Tire as my only source for tires. I've always had a great experience. Back in June I bought a spare from them, but they had forgotten to give me lug nuts to fit the spare (since my regular lug nuts do not fit it). When I noticed the missing lug nuts a day after I purchased the spare, I called to inquire and was told that my regular lug nuts would fit it. This past weekend, I had a flat, so I was surprised when I couldn't change my flat out because my lug nuts were too big for the spare. Luckily, I was at a friend's house and she lent me her spare. The following day, I called and spoke with the GM Doug. They really went above and beyond for their mistake. I was able to come in and not only get the correct lug nuts, but also a new tire on them. Really great customer service and they hold themselves accountable for their mistakes. Very pleased with how this was handled. The first time I came here, I had such a great experience. The associate was super helpful in guiding me through picking out tires for my Jeep. Having had such a good experience previously, I went to Discount Tire to have a valve stem replaced on a tire on my new car. Bad news was that I needed to replace the sensor on the tire as well. Before I took into account that my tires only cost $30 a piece, I'd already paid $75 for this "sensor." Had a slow leak and made an appointment for 930. Arrived early because I Was afraid the tire would go flat. In about 30 minutes ahead and they got me in the bay at 920. Always have had great service at this Discount Tire. Recommend making an appointment in advance. Last time they were dead on my appointment as well. I recommend this place. Very happy so far. Update. They told me they replaced the tire but all they did was apply a patch. Tires were pretty new so shame one for not checking. Tire started to leak again but they did replace it this time. Luna at this location was rude and incompetent. He started putting air into my tires without checking to see how much I even needed. When I asked him if he started already he gave me a sarcastic "I'm going to do it." I then told him that he didn't even check to see how much air my tires needed. His response was he does this all day. Well Luna if you do this all day why did you ask me what kind of car it was. I guess I bruised his ego because he rushed me out which is where his inexperience and incompetence comes in. He forgot to put the valve caps back on. For someone who "does this all day" you sure don't know the basics of putting air into a tire. A 10 year old could do your job better and by the way telling someone that you're supposed to put more air in their tire than is needed is a lie. You just suck at your job. Luna needs soft skills training. Not my fault you're making $11/hr. He knew he was being a jerk because when I called to let the assistant know how he acted he already knew about it. "Assistant" Mike H. wasn't very sincere either. He said the store manager wouldn't be in for another hour, so I spoke to the next best thing. This last weekend, I purchased the other 2 along with wheel locks. Again, the team was amazing. Being a female, I am up sold by their competitors constantly. Did not have this issue. I said excuse me to 3 different people no one answered maybe I'm invisible . I understand the air pressure check is free but it only takes a few minutes to put air in my tire. After 2 hours of waiting they gave me back my car with my tire pressure at 27 and another tire at 30. When I complained, Cody the assistant manager said they would have to work me in again. Their estimates on time mean nothing. Quoted 1.5 hours and had to ask about status at 2.5 hours when the car hadn't even been moved. Make an appointment (they will lie and say 45 minutes to an hour) or have someone pick you up. The one in Cinco is much better. read more
