Literally spent more than 30 minutes having to explain to one of the support reps (not the actual technician) that there was nothing wrong with the brand new LED lights I had bought and tried to replace on my vw and that only one wasn't turning on (again only one not all (!) so that should have been enough to try and solve the issue) but he seemed more concerned about letting me know that they were cheap, stating that he had $100 bulbs in his car. If you paid more than $40 for h15 regular bulbs then either you got ripped off or you're just lying. Maybe if you actually knew how to turn on the lights in my vw you'd realize these were high end bulbs. He actually spent more time trying to talk down to me than actually knowing what he was talking about. He didn't have a clue on how to properly check the lights since I kept correcting him on EVERYTHING that came out of his mouth. At one point I wondered if he was just dumb or was having a bad day. Regardless, please just know what you're talking about before you open your mouth. We eventually settled on the fact that I was right initially about there being a potential wiring issue instead of the bulbs being "cheap" aftermarket bulbs. No diagnostic to check the issue, absolutely nothing. Just a bunch of half-baked guesses and me having to correct them on everything. So I essentially wasted my time here. Won't be coming back and definitely will not be recommending this place to anyone. I highly advise stop trying to check my pockets and know what you're talking about, buddy. I had taken my 2012 Hyundai Sonata to get three little screws off of the wheel guard that I couldn't reach without having to take the tire off. I had asked them if they could do it and how much would it be and all they said is they "got me". I got there and still was not told a price and they took the car back after me showing them the three screws to come back after 5 minutes of them having the car and charging me for a half hour instead of just 5 minutes. I paid $55 for three small screws to be taken out, the guy that had taken my car to do the work was looking at receipts that were in my console and left them all out on the seat and told the front desk guy to charge me for half an hour and still wanted more but the front desk said he brought it down. $55 for 3 screws in itself is outrageous as well as not having dollar bills when paying so I was given three rolls of coins instead. If you plan on coming here for something small just find another place that'll do it and actually tell you the price beforehand instead of "I got you". I never expected free work but $55 is a little overpriced especially for 5 minutes at most of work. read more

Used to always take my 4 Runner there and they were very honest and dependable and reasonably priced however with my new car, it needs brakes and they wanted to charge me $1500 to do all four which is insane. That's like buying a new transmission so I've pretty much lost hope with them now. Even with new rotors it shouldn't be more than around $500 per axle at the most so they're charging nearly double and they didn't even look and see the rotors before they say buy new ones. You can turn rotors and save a lot of money and the car has low mileage so it's not like the rotors would be that worn already. Very disheartening because they were my go to. read more

Today I took my car to get inspected. My car pass inspection, but the technician who was inspecting my car, broke my door handle. I have had no issues with my door handle whatsoever, and I specifically told them that after I was informed that in their possession, my car handle broke. They refused to give me the part for free. They expect me to pay $50 for them to fix a door handle that broke while they had my car in their possession. I will never bring my car back to this place again. This is the worst place you could bring your car to put trust in someone that they will handle your car with care. I now have to climb through my passenger door just to open the drivers door. read more

Went here to get new tires. They put them on backwards. Insides being on outsides. Was absolutely furious as I was told by another tire shop it's not the best to drive like that. Went back next day and they didn't offer any sort of discount or compensation and just fixed them back to how they are supposed to be. Not how to keep my business! Won't be going back. read more

I've been taking our vehicles to this shop for tires, oil changes, repairs and inspections for the past 5 years and will no longer do so after their complete failure to resolve the issues with the $5000 turbo charger replacement they performed on my F150. I've brought the truck back at least 6 to 8 times within a 6/7 week period and they claim to have corrected the problem only for me to drive it onto 1093 barely a mile and right back to square one. read more

We had a number of vehicles that were brought to this establishment. All I can say is, this is the shadiest excuse of an auto repair shop I have ever bore witness too. I simply cannot believe they are still operating. Problem after problem seemed to occur as if by some strange coincidence ...we later found out what was really going on. Will let the courts determine on a case by case basis, but please do not take your vehicles here. You have been warned. So that there is no confusion, this location is called Cinco Tire & Automotive. I've received 2 msgs from Habib, the owner who is asking for my personal information in order to fix what has happened, no doubt in exchange for the removal of my review as has happened to others previously. HONESTY. QUALITY. VALUE. It's that simple. Most of us are not knowledgeable about auto repairs and diagnosing mechanical issues in our vehicles... So we depend on the skills of these mechanics to find and fix those problems, their honesty in giving a "diagnosis and prognosis", and their charging a fair price for the services. It sounds easy, but we looked for a quite a while in this area before finding Phil at Cinco Auto & Tire (and had some pretty bad experiences elsewhere... Rhymes with "Striver's Auto" !!). We've been customers for about 18 months, and I still remember our first visit: I called and asked if I could get a second opinion on some work I'd been quoted at the "other" place. He told me to bring my car in and they'd check it out to see if they found the same things! Then if they did, that I could bring a copy of the first estimate with the prices blacked out, and they'd give me a quote on the same work to compare. Sounded fair to me! So they checked my van and told me the results: they gave me a reasonable timeline for each thing they found (some needed fixing now, some could wait 6 months, and some a year... The other place made everything sound emergent!), their price quote for each item was less than the other place's, and they offered a ride home and pick up service during the repairs! Home run. We have been back to do everything from state inspections, timing belt, full set of tires, tune up, windshield wiper replacements, alignment, balance & rotate tires, and various small mechanical repairs along the way (between 2 vehicles). Phillip and his staff are always professional, courteous, honest, and efficient. Once, they even brought my van home to me for payment and delivery after a larger repair that took a while, as I was home alone with the kids! That's customer service. Sometimes repairs take longer than you'd like, sometimes the staff is super busy and not as attentive as you'd like... So what???!!! They are working hard to do a good job at a fair price. That's what counts! And that's what earns and retains repeat business. read more

As a female mechanics tend to try and take advantage of me. That's the way it goes. In all the times I've had small jobs done here I've never felt that way. That's when I asked for a quote on my struts and they beat ALL of the other places around by far. Tanner in the front worked with me and was very knowledgeable. He discussed a few options. This quote beat my others by at least $750+! The technicians are thorough and even showed me what they were talking about as far as damage and leaking on my Honda CRV. The extra effort these guys put into helping me out was exceptional. Tanner & Michael were very helpful and courteous! I was given updates throughout the process. They closed at 6 pm but stayed until 8 pm to finish the job knowing I'm a teacher and school starts tomorrow. They definitely did not have to do that! But it helped me tremendously! I had my turbo replaced in my Audi Q5 and by using Cinco Tire & automotive I saved $1,350 instead of going to the Audi Dealership for a higher labor quote. Tanner, the service advisor was busy but had done state inspection for two of my vehicles in the past, did not appear overly busy for a weekend. Told me 35 minute wait chose to leave car and run errands, asked them to call me if they had to replace side marker lamp as a message had flashed on prior to me pulling into here. Three hours later, Billy says my car is next in line to be inspected, seriously. Did not have another 3 hours to wait, several people were coming in at the time I was leaving and they were being turned away. Basically proceeded to 'fix' my tire how they saw fit without consulting me, so once I went back to have them take a look at it, the manager pretty much said my tire couldn't be fixed si they did all they could, and if I wanted to order a new one, so no real explanation just pushing a sale. Now I got a messed up tire that vibrates because the way it was fixed, it was better off left alone. Very poor customer service from the manager, condescending and rude attitude overall. Where do I begin, Cinco Tire and Automotive is amazing for so many reasons I couldn't list them in this review but I would like to share my initial experience. Outlining the knowledge and experience this shop processes. First and foremost the customer service I receive from Tony and the entire staff at Cinco Tire and Automotive each time I return is exemplary. My first experience with this shop started from word of mouth by an automotive technician who mentioned rates and services performed at Cinco Tire on many occasions to me at my job. Eventually I reached out to them for help and they were right there for me. I originally thought I had a stuck thermostat but they quickly discovered my problem. Not only was Tony able to work a fantastic price, but I could sense he really cared about my circumstances; going above and beyond with service and leading me the right way on repairing my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which unknown to me at the time had a blown head gasket due to a manufacture defect in the casting of my engine block which had broken away from one of the through bolts holding the driver-side portion of my head gasket. Through intensive diagnostics and experienced technicians they found the flaw in a very short time and rushed for my parts and Tony even planed a rental car for me and my daughters school function. They also had my vehicle towed to specialists on a flatbed truck that could correct the bolt issue by means of a coil insert to the faulty casting. After the completion of this in depth repair Tony recommended I file a claim with Chrysler I did have a current extended warranty and eventually had Jeep Chrysler reimburse me for all charges and fees But it doesn't stop there, this shop is a FULL service shop with skilled techs that perform everything I could ask for including regular maintenance like a synthetic oil change .I feel rest assured it's performed correctly and they beat anyone's price in Katy, TX and always honor coupons by Goodyear and their own as well. Cinco Tire and Automotive has made a believer out of me that not all garages are alike. And I will remain a loyal customer for life with Cinco Tire and Automotive. read more

They Lied To Me. We have been getting our cars serviced here for years. they always seem to find extra things to charge us for other than why we brought the car in for. last week i asked them to replace my trucks oil sensor. it is hard to reach and i didnt mind paying them to do it. but the next day they tell me they replaced the sending unit but it didnt fix it so i need an oil pump to the tune of over $2000. i told them i cant afford it. i will pick up the truck and just pay for the sending unit. i said give me a price. they said no charge for sending unit or labor, they will put the OLD sending unit back in and there will be no charge except for $90 diagnostic. i thought at that point they were lying to me. when i got the truck the motor had obviosly not been touched there was no disturbance to the dirt near the sensor. i had another ( honest ) mechanic change the sensor and the truck is like new. I walk in and the front desk employee (white guy, shaved head) just stares at me. A few seconds pass and I finally say, "Hi, do you sell batteries?" He began rolling in his chair toward the computer but did not answer. I ask again, "Well, do you sell batteries?" He finally responds with, "Yes." He asks for my name, I give it to him and added that I have not been here before. After an awkward exchange he asks me for the key and tells me that I can wait "over there" in the waiting room. While waiting, another employee went to my car to start it, couldn't, left to grab the charger but left the driver side door open and unattended for about a minute, and then returned to drive my car into the shop. About 15 minutes pass and another employee comes in and says, "Sir, your battery needs to be replaced." I replied, "I know, I told the guy in the front that I needed a new battery." Furthermore, the grand total for a new battery is $170.12, which included the service fee and disposal fee. This first impression does not bode well for a service oriented business. It is likely that I will not return because of (1) the initial service, (2) the lack of service, and (3) the price for a new battery. read more

Took my vehicle (Phil thanks for notifying me but my car is not that old) in for oil change, fluid top off especially for the steering. Everyone started looking for Tanner!!!!! Yup the steering fluid leak was repaired by them a year ago (still leaks and the car is missing some radiator mount too). The missing radiator mounts were discovered by Firestone tire shop doing a state inspection and they wanted to know who had last worked on the vehicle. So, I notified Tanner that there seems to be rumbling sound and vibration issues in the front side and seemed to be occurring every rotation of the tire. Tanner the tech. took the car in and notified me that he would look into it if I dropped off the car. After breaking one part after the other the vehicle was kept in repair for two weeks while they promised me that they will have it ready tomorrow and then tomorrow and then tomorrow etc. After I had Picked up my car on the 12th day Phil notified me that he had fixed it. I paid little over $500 and thanked Phil. I picked up my car only to realize that the rumbling sound in the front was still there. So, made a U turn in their parking lot. On the 13th day Phil read my mind and said he will pay for a rental vehicle to cover my rental commute. I asked Phil if he test drove the car while he started looking for Tanner. Another tech. was available and sat next to me in the passenger seat while I PERSONALLY TEST DROVE THE CAR FOR THEM. (Isn't that their job?) So, Phil called next day with an estimate of $1100 ($350 for the part and required two ) and that he will give me a discount for the inconvenience. He had ordered some after market parts and would take a few days to get to his shop. I made a phone call to a Nissan shop and they had one in stock for $240). Phil told me that the vehicle (2007) was too old for repairs and has extensive rust that resulted in broken parts while he tried to fix those. It was good to know because I am looking at new cars this week!!!!! So, I got my vehicle back after three weeks and roughly $900 in repairs and over $700 in rental car. Phil reimbursed me for 5 out of the 13 days saying he would loose too much on this repair shop so I agreed to pay the rest of the rental expenses. For future needs I would avoid this shop all together. The car runs ok, has vibration above 50mph. My guess is it would last a few months till I figure out my next vehicle. read more
