If you make an appointment online, it's usually a quick drop in for about an hour and they will have you on your way. I love discount tires! I've had two cars in the past five years, one was very old and one is a little bit newer. My old car had a ton of issues with the tires, they had to be filled up and they filled them up for me several times free of charge. My newer car had to have a flat patched and they did it for free. Today when I went in, one of my wheels was going flat again, and it caused more damage to my wheels. At any rate, within an hour I had 4 new wheels and new windshield wipers for under $500. I found out that the dealership that had put new tires on my car when I got my car, the tires are actually really crappy and are being discontinued. I have shopped Discount Tire for over 20 years. I think I have bought my last set of tires and wheels from them. First car, my '06 Jetta. Factory wheels were curbed pretty well so I bought new wheels for it. At 60 MPH the steering wheel shook so bad it could barely be driven. Upon inspection, six ounces of weight were put on one of the front wheels. Another had four ounces and two tires had zero weight. Brought it back to be rebalanced. These are both Discount Tire and wheels that are this poorly balanced. When I got the car back, they scraped the stick on wheel weights off without removing the glue backing. Then they stuck new wheel weights to old glue, so those won't last 300 miles before they fly off. Terrible job. Same day, I brought my '11 Silverado 1500 in to inspect for road noise and rotation. The tech told me I don't rotate my tires enough, and I have a suspension issue with the truck. When I explained that I rotate my tires quite a bit, he said he isn't a psychic but he knows the issue. My tires and wheels were installed at 90k miles, and my rotations were at 95557, 104312, 112502 118432, 123400, and 129364. I had my truck at a shop last week to have it inspected and it's perfect. When the tech started with the psychic comments, I knew he was lost. I told him to fill all tires to 45 PSI, reprogram the TPMS, and please be sure the lugs are tightened to 140 ft lbs as the manufacturer recommends. I got my truck back with two tires at 42, two others at 44, and none of the tires are in the correct place. Both of my cars (they were brought in at the same time) had the climate control changed. Literally they had to drive the car and truck outside. Is it necessary to play with the controls? I understand seat adjustment, this was a convenience thing for them. Almost a month ago I told this shop after my last rotation I was missing a center cap. They said they would order it. I reminded them of it yesterday and that I had been waiting a month for it. They called today and claimed it had been ordered (like last time). I'll see what happens. I know the tires on my truck wear and that's fine. I drive it a lot. I'm having issues with a tire "chunking" and they are blaming the truck. Even enough that the person that allegedly ordered my center cap claimed I have an exotic suspension, and it doesn't. Clearly they don't know cars. I even wasted my money on the warranty for the tires. I'd recommend going anywhere but this Discount Tire. The one in Verona is better. Sadly this one is closer and I have very little time at home. Now both cars have to come in, and it was a complete waste of a day. Never again. read more

We had the pleasure of being assisted by Hunter at the Junction Rd location and he was super helpful, professional and friendly. We arrived on a Saturday morning with my daughter's car that had a completely flattened passenger side tire. Hunter assisted us immediately upon arrival and we were provided with a very reasonable price for the work that was needed. Great service and fast. Had a flat tire with a very large nail and didn't think it would be salvageable. After AAA towed me here at 6 pm, they had it repaired next day by 11am. And many already probably know but they didn't charge for the repair. I didn't buy the original tires here, they just repair for free! We've been using Discount Tire for our tires and wheels for about 10 years now, and we couldn't be happier with their products, locations, store atmosphere, customer service, ease of finding the right tires, ease of booking appointments, and prices. We first started using them to buy new tires when they had 1 location on the west side of Madison, and the drive was a bit inconvenient for us as it was a 25 minute drive from home, but since then they've added 2 other locations, making it much more convenient for us and anyone in the area. After that first visit for new tires, we've used them for fall and spring summer/winter swap outs, buying new wheels, and buying new tires, and we've never had a less than perfect experience. Their website is so easy to use to compare the various options out there and easy to book appointments with. And when I've had questions I've called the store and they employees were quick to help out. Although all of the employees we've dealt with over the years have been wonderful, I have to mention Jake at Discount Tire on East Washington as his customer service has been above and beyond. Although a couple employees have recommend getting new wiper blades, they've never been pushy about it (I replace my own, but it's something they check and offer). I highly recommend any of the Madison area Discount Tire locations, and I can't see us ever going anywhere else. read more

When I bought a set of winter tires in Jan 2022 from the Discount Tire East Wash location I was offered a set of TPMS sensors that I needed for a discounted $40 apiece if I would sign up for the tire road hazard insurance, so I essentially got the insurance for free. In April they swapped my winter tires I purchased from them with my all-seasons and reset the TPMS sensors, all for free. They will also rotate tires you buy from them for free. Pretty disappointed with this location. I have been a long time customer and utilizing a company like this is crucial while traveling. I was experiencing a low tire lamp. Popped in here at 8:00 am shortly after they opened and didn't leave until 11:30 am. Most recently I bought 4 new tires from them, with their extended warranty package. Less than a year later, I had the car in the shop and my mechanic told me my tires were dangerously bald. I said, that's unpossible! I got 90,000 mile tires less than a year ago, they're still under warranty! So I took it to Discount Tire the next day. They told me-- I am not making this up-- the tires were too worn to be covered by the warranty. I said, look at the odometer, you can see I've gone well under the warranteed amount of miles. They said, we can only warranty them if we can measure how much tread is left. You have no tread left so we cant measure anything. You should have come in sooner. I said, what can you do? Do I need to talk to a manager? They said, we'll offer you X price on new tires. I looked up said tires, they were considerably cheaper at Walmart. I said, can you match Walmart's price? They said no. I said, so what exactly am I getting here, if you wont honor the warranty and I can get the same tires elsewhere for cheaper? They couldnt give me a valid answer so I walked out and called corporate. I was directed to someone's voicemail and I left a message and never heard back. Go to Weber Tires instead. read more

Rotations are best scheduled - I suggest the first appointment in the morning in case they get backed up (stuff happens, plus they have coffee!). I was expecting to wait 1-2 hours for my new tires to be installed, but I was in and out in under 30 minutes. I like that they have a huge selection of tires in stock, and that the technicians are all very friendly and knowledgeable. The only thing that bothered me was how strongly they were pushing me to replace all four tires instead of just two. I get it, I get it, my tires probably won't withstand the snow for that much longer, but seriously.. winter is almost over (did I just jinx myself?). Tried to call the place next to my work to get the hole in my tire patched, I had a nail embedded. I called and they said they didn't have space to get me in due to appointments, but they could tackle it as a walk in and get it done by the end of the Saturday. There was a small line when I got there, but most places are understaffed these days, so no harm towards them. The guy was friendly, took my key and said they'd call when it was ready. Got a call later that day before they closed. Didn't have a chance to pick it up till Monday due to my own schedule, but imagine my surprise to find repairing my tire was free! I had a blowout on the Beltline and hobbled into a ford dealership. I have a CTSV and the tires are very hard to find for this car. I called several car dealers and tire stores and the tire would have to be ordered and take a day or two. I called discount tire and they had 8 of my tires in stock. It was almost 5:00 Sunday afternoon and they were closing at 6. Discount told me as long as I got the car in by 6, they could fix the tire and get me on the road. The tow truck got us there 10 minutes before closing. They installed two front tires and had the car finished in 40 minutes. I had to call to order a specific sized Nokian R3. Talked to Mika and the tires arrived in no time. New R3s mounted on old steel wheels seemed a tragedy. I wanted some OZs, but DT doesn't carry them. I contacted them and Stephen said he could get the wheels and beat the other price. Guys were all excited about how cool they looked with tires mounted and loaded them up for me.
