I'm updating my review to reflect that DT did make good on all the issues described in my prior reviews. Leaving those up because it's all true but it's sobering to think that sometimes one incompetent or lazy employee can destroy a business' reputation. But anyway, I took the tire with the screw in for repair under road hazard coverage and that seems to be okay and while I was there I had them check the balance on the wheel that mysteriously had no weights before. It does now so this was NOT one of those one in five dozen that needed no weights. It did and does. And upon discussion with the manager they reimbursed me for replacement lug nuts and to replace the broken center hub cap thing. Subsequently I was losing air on a tire and they found some damage which warranted full replacement for which I was covered by the road hazard warranty. They also threw in a new valve stem & TPMS sensor. I had thought the corroded stem would have been replaced as part of the prior service but they don't on the metal ones but they recognized that they had neglected to offer me the option to replace it at the time. So all is well. Hope I have no more tire issues for a long time. read more

Manager fixed a problem with some tires I bought. The assigned Tech Ozzie replaced the tire quickly and had a ton of knowledge about the tools and methods for modern car repair. Definitely requesting Ozzie again when we bring a car in next month. read more

On 10/7/2017, an employee said to my husband an i we should upgrade to the better tire since they had a promo rebate of a $70 visa gift card. We did. The employee stapled the receipt to the rebate form. Came home happy with the tires. Did the rebate online. Said it would take 4 weeks. Not unexpected. I called the rebate company in nov...rebate still pending...dec same thing...same goes for jan, feb and March. Tried calling the tire shop. Never could get a mgr to answer me. Today i did a chat online with the rebate people only to discover that even though the store gave me the rebate firm to mail in or fill out online, the rebate did not start till 10/15. So we spent more than we planned and we are not eligible for the rebate. Still cant get a mgr to call back. Very shady and we will not recommend this company. read more

I couldn't wait to get home for this review. Stopped in today to get a tire mounted and balanced after a Chicago pothole bent my factory wheel. I bought a brand new set of wheels and wanted to get the damaged one repaired 1st to get the space saver off the car. The guy tells me $37 bucks and about 45 minutes wait. No problem... About 20 minutes later one of the guys finally gets my wheel and removes the tire and lays it in the middle of the garage floor. and for the next 30 minutes it just sits there as they walk past and admire the new wheel. Then a totally different guy asked what was being done, they tell him and without ever looking at my tire comes in and tell me the tire's no good and I have to buy a new one, BUT they don't have the tire I need so they'll have to order it. I tell them never mind I'll buy my tire elsewhere and was told by "John"... "You won't find one". I Left there and went a block or so away to Firestone and got the tire mounted and balance and was on my way. I guess I was only spending 37 dollars so they figured they'd try and get a little more out of me... NOT!!! It's disappointing because this was my "GO TO" shop but NEVER again. read more

My wife brought my car in to get a tire fixed while I was at work. My wife called me at work and said they wanted to change the lug nuts because they were exposed. I to her no. ( I've never heard of exposed lug nuts and those were the same ones on their when I bought all 4 tires from them) after I hung up my phone they said they wouldn't fix the tire unless she bought the new lug nuts. My wife didn't call me back she just bought the lug nuts. I have enough 3-4 sets of tires from them. I Will Never Spend Another penny in Discount tires. Now only my day off I have to go to the junk yard to get the same lug nuts that I had on my car. read more

I will never use this location again. These clowns have screwed up my wheels for the last time. In the past I have brought them brand new wheels to put tires on, what did they do? Scratched the centers and spokes up, they weren't even balanced right and I had to bring them back to re-balance. This time though takes the cake. I brought another car over to have tires re-balanced and rotated. Well they not only didn't rotate any of the tires, they bent my rim and apparently damaged a TPM sensor. I had no issues before taking it there. I leave and all of a sudden I have vibration and TMPS service light is on. To top it off, one of the lug nuts was lose (could actually wiggle it) when I got home and they had pumped the tires up to 40 psi (factory pressure is 30 and these are factory tires) I took it to another location where the nice manager brought me back to see the damaged wheel. I see why your stores are going out of business one by one, I pulled up at opening (8:00am) to get air in my tires. 6 cars are ahead of me. 15 people working and one person servicing this line that is growing. Well, at 8:15 I'm the next car up, big tractor rig pulls up to deliver 300 tires....so we all have to wait until this tractor backs up to bay to start unloading...I get to bay at 8:24am, all of a sudden, I get " there must be something wrong with your tire cause it's not letting me put air in any of them...REALLY!!!! The same thing was with lady in front of you." Maybe you just don't know what the F U.K. You doing. BOY BYE!!!!! 30 freaking minutes in line for that! Don't worry about me, I went to Arnie Bauer GMC up the road and was in/out in 5 mins!!!!! read more

I got a nail in my tire and discount tire was the only shop that had an opening. Ryan helped me out and was very personable with me and every other customer. The best part was it didn't cost me a dime for the tire repair! I highly recommend them. read more

I am pissed.. Your Matteson store in Illinois has deceptive practices. In October I drove to your store for air due to the dashboard sensor. I noticed your tech behaving oddly but thought nothing of it. Needless to say after driving home I noticed there was a huge gash in my front right tire. Wasn't there before. Next morning woke up with a flat tire. Purchased a tire from another company. Fast forward to today. Same scenario. Dashboard indicates air in tire needed. Closes place to get air, Matteson Discount Tires.. This time I check all four tires for anything. Gashes, nails etc. Nothing. I go get air, the tech fills my tires and out of no where right front tire has a huge gash. Same story as before but this time the tech says " There is a something wrong with your tire". Mind you this was AFTER he had put air in it and had moved to another tire. I told this tech oh no I don't know what you did but I have no money for a tire. He proceeded to say" I'm sorry let me look for a used tire for you. Please note this was the same freaking tire I had just bought in October. He comes back with no tire. I leave as I have no money for a tire. I am pissed he tried to con me by slashing my tire forcing me to buy from you. This is the second time this has happened at this location. Now my tire is flat and I have to borrow money to replace it. I am telling this story a million times as I am sure this has happened to other people. Stop your deceptive practices and  reprimand your employees. read more

I am so very, very happy with Discount Tires in Matteson. I ran over a nail and twice they fixed my tire at no charge. Very courteous and take their time to help you. They explain everything they need to do and teach you how to avoid some situations as well. I will be getting all my tires from them and I am recommending everybody I know as well. I arrived at discount tire on a flat on Weds @ 3:30 Pm. They said the tire was irreparable so I paid for two tires that were not in stock but expected to arrive the next morning. They kept my car overnight, promising to put it into an inside bay overnight for protection. This was not done because the car was seen sitting outside in the lot all night. They had promised to call me when the tires arrived the next morning, but they did not. I finally called them around noon Thursday, confirmed the tires were in and Bryan told me he was having it pulled into a bay right away. I called again at 3:30 to learn that it still had not been pulled in yet so I went up there and spoke to the manager about it and he told me he could not complete the service until all his appointments for the day were completed first. I disagreed and told him that this is a bad policy for a paid customer whose car had already been there for more than 24 hours and the tires were now in stock. We argued back and forth and I sat there waiting and watching as he told new walk ins that he would have their tires installed within an hour while I was still waiting for service. He finally had my car completed one half hour before closing. This manager has very poor management skills. The two stars is only for the technician. read more

Never again. After receiving a tire rotation on my car, I realized upon attempting to work on my brakes, that they tightened my lugnuts so tight that they could not be removed, even with an impact gun. I brought the car in to have it addressed, and was denied the simple correction of loosening the lugnuts because the tire was "below their grade of serviceable". I was a loyal customer for 7 years, and was actually planning on purchasing new tires from them, until this. I will go out of my way to purchase tires from their competitors in the future. read more

I typically always take my car to the Discount Tire on Halsted but my dad told me it closed so I headed over to the one in Matteson because my tire thread was looking low. As soon as I walked in, though the sales guy was with another customer he said "he'll be right with me," which I greatly appreciated that level of service. Once he was done, he walked from around the counter, shook my hand, introduced his self and asked me how could he help. I explained the issue and he went to go check out my tire. Unfortunately, they didn't have my tire in stock (common) but he said he could order it and give me a call when it came in. They called me within 2 days time saying my tire was already at the store! So I went back in and I got the same warm welcome from another smiley, super friend young man. I really wished I remembered his name. Anywho, there was a bit of a wait and I was having issues with my license plate so I decided to go to Home Depot to get a screw. The young man really went above my expectations and tried to help me get the current nail out so I could find a similar one in Home Depot and he helped me get it back in. They were done with my car in no time! I'll definitely be back! read more

My salesman was theo and he hooked it up! Went in looking to spend about 250 on a pair of tires and ended up leaving with a full set for 300 installed. Can't beat the deals and the service was fast friendly and all around a great experience! Would defiantly suggest them. read more

I haven't had any work done here and I'm not sure if I will. I bought my tires at the now-closed Homewood store and since I was in the area and had heard good things about the Matteson location, I decided to stop in to have two tires checked for leaks and repaired. I walked in a little after 5pm and was told there would be a 3-hour wait so I left. I did some shopping in the area and drove past the store at 6:25 on my way home and saw an empty waiting area and all bay doors closing with no cars inside. If there were really a 3-hour wait, why was it empty an hour later? It seems to me they just didn't want any more customers so they lied about the wait time. read more

I brought my car in for two front tires. Josh told me it would be about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes. 2 and a half hours later, I got my car (after closing time). I was told I needed an alignment and given a card to go to Midas. I went and found out I did not need an alignment. When I picked up my car I took it out on the highway to check the balance, and found out it was horribly out of balance. I called the next day and made an appointment for 4:00 the next day to have it rebalanced. I go there at 4 PM and waited for an hour. Finally, I was told by a tech that the wheels were out of balance, but the hub of my passenger front tire was bent (a lie). Apparently though, they were able to balance both my tires. I took it out on the road, and again found that my tires were out of balance worse (55 MPH vs the original 65). I immediately brought it back in, Josh told me that they were probably not able to balance my tires since my passenger front rim was bent (still a lie). I asked why the rim wasn't caught the firs time and he said, and I quote, "Sir, we do over a hundred cars a day so we might have missed it". That is what they do as their specialty, how could they have missed it? I called corporate and asked if I could take my car somewhere else, get new tires, return their tires, and get a refund, they said no problem. They had the Matteson store manager call me, and he agreed that I should take it to another store to see if they could balance the tires. I took it to the Homewood Discount Tire the next day. They were very nice and professional. When there were four cars waiting, they announced the wait list to the back to ensure they new the hold up. In any case, they balanced my tires and told me I had a slight rim bent on the opposite rim that the Matteson shop told me, but said that is normal for curbs parking and it would not affect my balance. I took it out on the road (around town and on the highway). The wheels where balanced perfectly. Thank you Homewood Discount Tire! So, the Matteson Discount Tire was poorly run (2.5 hour wait time), could not balance my tire (twice), lied to me about a bent rim (Homewood confirmed that), and told me they could not be expected to catch all wheel problems. read more

Awesome customer service. They even have coffee and water while you wait. The guy at the front was nice, patient and even took the time to talk to my dad on the phone. I had an 8:00 AM appointment and ended up having to leave and come back around 11 with no problems. It got pretty busy and was a 45 minute wait but I got new tires so I'm happy. Only thing is that I wish there was wifi or something since the wait was so long but that's okay. read more

Ideal location for me, it's very close to work. The last 2 times I needed service I had very bad experiences.The staff however is very polite, too polite for my taste, to the point of being patronizing. I made an appointment so that they would know exactly what my needs are and I can get in and out quickly. The first time I knew that I needed a couple of tires, I knew what I wanted and It was a done deal from the start. I choose Discount Tire because of their Excellent products, warrantee's and usually exceptional service. I have been to a few locations (Homer Glen on Bell Road is the BEST!) I don't need to be sold. after getting the new tires put on, the low tire indicator kept coming on. I brought it back, ... and waited. they cleared the codes. Told me to drive it for about 10 minutes. The light stayed on while others were being helped, and I waited.... they refilled the tires, cleared the codes they said that it was fixed. I left, the light came back on. I brought it back., and I waited.... they had several techs look at it. they refilled the tires, they cleared the codes, and I waited... they said that it was fixed. I left, the light came back on! I went to the gas station, took out my tire air pressure gauge looked at my drivers door to find the correct air pressure 33psi in the front 35psi in the rear. I checked my tires ... LF 37 RF 33 RR 35 LR31. I made both front tires 33 both back tires 35. The light went off, it stayed off! Really!?! All they had to do is properly fill the tires! what a waste of my time. Sunday I have to run into work, my low tire indicator is on. I get out & look, all the tires look round, no obvious flat. I pull out my gauge the Front Right is at 25psi, I filled it to 33, the light went off. All Good Tuesday the light came on. This time I'll out smart them. I have to go to work, but I also have to go to Home Depot. I Make an appointment for the next day Wednesday, I tell them that I need my tires rotated and I have a slow leak in the front Passenger side tire. I tell them that I'll be in a hurry but if they can get me in and out I'd be very happy. (maybe the last time was just a bad day) I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, after all, I told them exactly what I needed, I told them that I was in a hurry, I made an appointment. I got this licked. I arrive at my scheduled time. 2 people ahead of me. I say I have an appointment, they very politely say that someone will be with me shortly to check me in. I wait. They check in the other 2 people, check out their cars, give them their options, sell them some tires. I wait. My turn. (13 minutes latter!) I say I have an appointment, they look in the computer, they call me by name, I say yes that's me. they say that they have me down for a tire rotation and a flat tire fix, I think I'm in the clear, but I still I mention "yes that's right, I just have to get a couple of things from the hardware store & I'm in a hurry but I'll be right back". He says he can appreciate that and follows me out after telling me that they will get it all fixed up because the tire rotation is free and since I have hazard insurance the tire will be fixed free and if it cannot fix it they will replace it for free because of the hazard insurance that I have. He goes to my car and I go to the hardware store. (2 bays open, I should be in & out in no time) I come back 15 minutes latter. The car is outside (good sign) I go in to get my key. He say's It's not ready yet. I said I need to go. He said it will be "one of the next ones in" I said that I had an appointment. he said but it's only been about 15 minutes. I said It's been over a half an hour, That's why I made an appointment. I took my key and left (NEVER TO RETURN TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN) as someone who just wandered in without an appointment but was (I admit) ahead of me in line had their car brought into the shop. It's really a shame, how locations can differ so much. I have never had an issue with the Homer Glen Store, and they seem to be so much busier than Matteson. read more

Never go to this store. I went in because I was having issues with my tires, 2 of which came from there. I already knew it was not a balance issue from a previous inspection which ruled a balance out. In addition, I had it balanced 2 days prior to visiting this location. So, I wanted an inspection of the tires I purchased from them. They took all my tires off and rebalanced them without my permission. It made my car worse than what it was when I came in. They acted like they didn't understand why I was so upset. Now I have to take my car in to a different location. read more

I went to get a tire fixed, and found out that my rim was bent. The manager showed me the damage and told me that i would have this problem contiously if i did stay away from the heavy salt in the winter months. They suggested alloy rims, I got a fair price for an entire set installed. I'm a happy camper read more

My family has been having our cars serviced at Discount Tire in Matteson for 3 years. We've never had an issue, the prices are great, the warranty and no hassle check ups are a breeze. But most important to me has been their customer service; it is always supreme. I'll be going here for as long as I live in the south burbs and I will always recommend them. read more

I hate to be the needle in the balloon and write a "bad" review, but I didn't get the great service everyone here has talked about. I called for pricing on 2 rims and 2 tires for my daughters car and even thou it was after 4 and they close @ 5 I was told they can't leave until they finish as long as we get there before 5. Seeing we were right down the street @ my moms we went over. I had been told on the phone there were 7-8cars in front of me, which was no problem. When my husband & I arrived there were probably 8 people in front of us. We knew we had to get this done and knew it would take awhile but what we DIDN'T expect was the 8 people in front of us left and a new group came in AFTER us and left BEFORE us. We were "told" they had appointments and it wasn't until my husband complained that they said.. "Oh we're starting on it now". Starting on it now? After the 8people before us left, and this new group, the ones who "had appointments, but came in @5:00 closing time? We had been there over an hour, and the icing was... the NEW group left before us too!!!! We were the last ones to leave!!! This wasn't even putting 2 tires and rims on a car. This was putting 2tires on a rim.. PERIOD... That takes what? 15-20minutes? Just happened to be in Matteson, and had to get this taken care of. Never again!! read more
