I made an appointment the day before for a simple flat tire repair. Got there at 12:30 a whole hour later they said the tire was unrepairable and i needed to purchase a BRAND NEW tire. Was told that would take 15 minutes another hour later they FINALLY told me the car was ready for pick up. Came here for a wheel alignment, after an hour & a half I was told they couldn't do it because a part was supposedly bent. And my quote of $121 shot up to $700. I refused the service and the tech who called told me how I really need to get it fixed and that I can't ride long with it damaged. I refused again. After I got my car, I went up the street to another shop and had them do an inspection and they found nothing wrong with the part Firestone claim to be bent. Ultimately got my alignment at Mavis. Had this incident NOT occurred I would rate this auto center 4 stars. If they had comfortable seats, free coffee and WiFi (like the dealership) they would get 5 stars. My car rear brakes needed to be replaced and the rotors resurfaced. My dealership quoted me a price of just over 300$. I called Firestone for a comparison. On the first call I was quoted $254.84. A week later, I called to schedule the appointment and was quoted $271.54. I asked about the discrepancy, and the person stated she could not explain, but there was a 50$ coupon online. I showed up to my service appointment and the price was different. This time the excuse was that although the agent indicated in the notes that I needed the rotors cut, they did not add the additional price to the ticket. The front desk person refused to honor the quote reflected in the computer! Additionally, once I was charged for the resurfacing, the "50$ coupon" just adjusted the price to the amount I was quoted by the dealership. This means, without the "coupon," this service would have cost more than the Gerald Honda of Matteson dealership. What a crock! Long story short...Thank you Firestone for the inconsistent pricing. I will remain faithful to the Gerald Honda of Matteson dealership. Their prices are actually better and without a fake coupon. (Ha! A dealership has better pricing than an auto center...). I'm incredibly disappointed Firestone. Do Better! Get your pricing right and Honor your quotes. Oh yeah, work completed was fine. Every time I give this location an opportunity t service my vehicles there is always something. I scheduled an appointment at 6 pm on4/19/22 and it was confirmed. Once I arrived at 5:45 pm they told e they are closing and they sent me an email. This is ridiculous an I will not be using your services again. read more

Had 11am appointment on a Saturday. Service Tech told it will be about 2 to 3 hours. I left car, & had someone pick me up, go home & wait until they called. After 6 hours, I called & nobody answered. So I went to facility because I knew they closed at 6pm. When I got there, a different Tech told me it was next in line to get work done. So I said ok. Then he said they would not be finished before closing. So I said ok first thing in morning? He said there schedule was already filled on Sunday. So he told me to call on Monday. Finally I got in Tuesday & it took about 3 hours. They had problem, getting old sensors out. I believe reason they did not get to it on Saturday, because different manager was taking favors from his favorites customers. read more

After waiting twenty minutes for service person to come to the desk I was informed that they didn't have my tires in stock. No apology. Took a day off from work to do this. So we came in here with a nail in our tire wall 20 mins before closing, the techs were able to get us back rolling in no time. They could have very easily turned us away and asked us to leave, but they didn't. And with limited tires in stock right before closing they were able to make something work for us. I just left the Matteson, IL Firestone location and I had the worst experience with the staff there by far the worst service I have dealt with. Clinton was absolutely obnoxious and very rude while I was trying to bring my vehicle there for repairs. I came in as a walk in appointment on Sunday to fix three different issues with my vehicle. My first concern was that I needed new transmission fluid. I was under the impression that Firestone can replace the majority of fluids for most vehicles. As I am explaining my first concerns ,Clinton abruptly and rudely tells me that don't do any transmission work at Firestone and that I need to go to leave and go to AutoZone to do it myself or a transmission shop. I was completely taken aback and in shock from that horrible customer service I just witnessed. And he also stated they don't work on cars with more than 100,00 miles . If those statements are true then I apologize for ignorance nevertheless, even so the way he stated it with such attitude it was as if he wanted to belittle and embarrass me. I found him quite abrasive and very unprofessional. I stated I understood, but I said well I have two other things you can address for my vehicle. I asked if he can check my check engine light and with more attitude, Clinton states he doesn't have a mechanic and he can not do it today. I feel quite helpless, now for the second time he is telling more things he cannot do and not even offering solutions to continue my business with this location. I explained lastly, I wanted to get my struts because they are giving more jump than usual. I can tell by his facial expression that he frustrated, which I don't understand why, and as I am speaking with Clinton about struts, he interrupts me abruptly again and tells me to go to his colleague and leaves the register. I am just baffled my his appalling poor customer service and his atrocious cynicism. I am unaware if he just having a bad day, but nevertheless it should be taken out on the customer EVER. At this point, I don't even feel comfortable leaving my car there because of the substandard service I received. This is a total inconvenience for me because I planned on leaving my car there at that location for repairs but I can't because of Clinton and his unfavorable service. I typically bring my both my vehicles to Firestone, however I don't think I will use this location ever again because the actions of Clinton were very traumatizing and I don't want to go anywhere where I am not appreciated. Do not bother. Their warranty on tires is useless. They lie and say the tire cant be fixed. Well, fine then honor the warranty and replace it. Firestone wanted to charge almost as much as I paid for the tire to replace it and the tire was practically brand new, having only driven no more than 200 miles on it. They lied about what work I needed done to my car and said it would cost almost $2000. I am not stupid and know a thing or two about cars. I knew they were trying to scam me. I took it to two other places and both places quoted less than a third of what Firestone claimed because l did not need that much work done. They lied saying all of my brakes were gone when they were nowhere close to being gone with more than half the pad still there! They claimed I needed new rotors when I didn't. They claimed a whole host of other problems, NONE of which were true, as verified by not one, but two different mechanics at two different places! They used to be trustworthy, but now they are thieves, do not waste your time or money with these dishonest scam artists. Don't buy your tires here, don't take your car here for anything. read more

The saga continues. Firestone Matteson Il changed my invoice from 251,000 miles to 215,000 miles so they could claim I was out of warranty. John at Firestone went in there after my Yelp review and changed it to cover his tracks. He failed though. I have an two invoices showing the correct mileage. Bottom line, they are ripping people off! How many victims are there? Check your invoices everyone. You may have been a victim, too. I bought my tires from them a year ago October they said when I brought it back for a rotation because I work across the street at Home Depot so I dropped it off on my lunch said to have it done at 12:30 when I got off when I get there they said two of my tires were no good and all of my Lugnuts were bad I just paid off the $1200 Tires I bought from them a year ago and now you're telling me that two of them are no good and all of my Lugnuts on the tires holding them on are no good I've never heard of the Lugnuts going bad he was going to give me a special deal because I had just bought those other tires and it would only be $450 for two new tires so I don't know how that's a special deal. They are absolute scam artists and the tires are garbage. And then they told me that they could not do the free tire rotation because the Lugnuts were no good and they couldn't get them off. I RECOMMEND THAT YOU NEVER GO HERE THIS IS DEFINITELY MY FIRST AND LAST TIME EVER. I came to this Firestone to get an oil change which would of been my first time ever coming here.I dropped my car off at Firestone for just an Oil change. Once my oil change was done my car was picked up and parked in my drive way. I continue to drive my company car as usual For a 2days days. Once I check my house there is oil leaking everywhere on the ground from my car since the day of the oil change. I inspected it more and my car continued to leak oil. About 2 wide area that were about 5ft long if not more. I called firestone in Matteson who did the original oil change and they said drive it to them they will fix it. So I told them It's a lot of lost oil I don't think driving it is safe so it was towed to the nearest location which is Tinley Park Firestone. They kept my car for a weekend and told me it was fixed and the problem was that no oil plugs were put on my car which is why I lost all the oil. I came to pick up my car park it back and continue to drive my company cars for about 2 more days then decides to drive my personal car again. As soon as I started the car my check engine light came on and i could not accelerate my care passed 2nd gear. I called Firestone they said they will come take a look at it and pick up the vehicle. After a few days of them looking over the vehicle I was told to take the car to Hyundai and they will fix it no charge. Hyundai takes my car and tells me there a few fault codes that could be caused due to the oil situation and it would cost about $300 based off of the fault codes. Then after having a mechanic look over my car completely they said they saw more issue that they felt was caused due to the oil situation with firestone of me losing oil due to no oil plugs and driving it which would cost over $1000. So I made a claim with Bridgestone corporate and they said they would contact the location and speak with them to consult the situation. I get a phone call back from the Hyundai dealer and was told that someone from the Firestone location in Matteson said they will not pay for any repairs. The service advisor at Hyundai told me he was told to clear the codes on my car and give me the vehicle as if it was fixed when they deliberately know it's not. The Service Advisor told me that being that he felt it was mischievous and to cover himself and that he felt I should have been aware of that. What they suggested is fraudulent concealment. As soon as I found out I called corporate made them aware of the issue and they just apologized and said they have no oversee over that location as that they will look into it. There's a reason why this Firestone has only 1 star. There's like one guy who works here who seems to really know his job, my car, and how to effectively communicate. Everyone else who I've come in contact with has generally been lethargic and continually mis-communicates. I've called before to confirm they can do an oil change and multiple times: I've had people confirm they can, driven out there, then been told they couldn't once I made the trip. Literally today, called at 3:07, they confirmed if I get my car to them by 3:30 they can do the oil change, I show up at 3:15, and another rep tells me they can't fit me in today. Like, why even mention the commitment if you can't do it?! It would have at least saved me the trip! Then, the rep who tells me they can't fit me in today generally had a lethargic, "I don't care" attitude. It's that attitude that I feel 99.8% of the time I've come here. I actually don't mind the Firestone brand (I'm currently having my car serviced at the one in Homewood and the quality of service and communication is a complete 180 difference), but it's pretty clear that this particular Firestone isn't being run well and that it has poorer talent. I'll now be taking the extra trip to Homewood instead of conveniently staying in Matteson to have my car serviced. Lesson learned. read more
