Walked in at 11:45am. Told it was going to be 1:15-1:20. Came back after 1 hour and car still in the parking lot. The person got irritated and said I told you it was going to be 1:30 - 1:45. (maybe he thought that that was what he told me) 11:45-1:48, little over 2 hours... they also put life time insurance on tires without asking and make you feel bad when you decline. I can understand that sometimes places like this can go over time... and he did finally acknowledge my long wait time by saying "thanks for your patience" but the charging for warranty with out asking is not good. Finally get into my car.....My glovebox is open, all the contents were spread out on the passenger seat floor. (I think they were looking for lug nut that they needed to get the tire off. I went to this location and was going to pay asap. I did not care about cost because safety first is my opinion but the problem was that i was a woman. I did not get any type of hi or anything that i thought they were going to help me. I waited around for i dont know how long and i was going to meet my dad there because this was my first experience getting tires. So then my dad shows up and as soon as he gets there he gets a hi sir how can i help you? He was not paying for my tires that were going to cost me $300. My dad asked a few questions and then it was time for me to pay, my dad sits back down to wait for me and then the guy that was helping me kept pushing me off to another guy. Stick with Sams Club. I went here wanting to buy all 4 tires for my Nissan Sentra. I ordered 4 Goodyear tires. I paid for everything and it seemed fine. When i checked my tires when I got home they were some brand I never heard of with a lower mileage warranty! So I go back to complain and they end up giving me extra warranty from them to make up for it, I thought it was a good deal, boy was I wrong. 3 Months pass, and the tread is completely gone on my tires, and their "warranty" doesn't cover it. So I get suckered in to getting new tires at a discount price which I find out wasn't a discount at all! 3 More months pass and my front tire keeps leaking air. I figured the warranty should cover this. NOPE. They want me to buy a new tire. They don't even suggest patching it. They take out the nail and leave me hanging with my spare tire. I am never going here again. Their warranty doesn't cover anything and don't buy it. In addition stick to places like Sam's Club. So I get no-brand tires at the same price as brand-name. They wear out in 3 months and in addition they can't patch up a tire without getting a new one. read more

I scheduled an appointment, but when I arrived, their shop was packed with potential customers. Even though servicing my car was a free service, Alex honored my appointment. My car was ready within 30 minutes with inspected, rotated & inflated tires. Kudos to Alex & Discount tire for their thorough, honest customer service!! read more

They run a tight scam. Walked in one day and got a quote for two tires. I was specific... only two tires no extra 38 for free" replacement, no lifetime spin balancing etc., want the two tires on the front as I have a front wheel drive. Made an apt to come in the next day. Next day. Come in new guy to talk to. He is an cold and curt. Okay, fine what ever. He runs my ticket. He rushes me through the questions..I tell him I want two tires on the front. Currently the tire on my left front will need to be discarded. The spare has a puncture and needs a plug but leave it as the spare. Simple right? Wrong. He argues with me about putting new tires on the front of my car cites handling issues in rain. He then gives me quote and shows me where to pay. I did so. Assuming I was paying a higher price because of the plug. I wait an hour- so much for the 40 minutes speech I was given. Then my car way not pulled up like everyone else but was parked. I am taken in side when..conveniently there were no other customers in the store. ONLY then given my actual receipt! I am charged well over 100 that was quoted to me the day before and the man talking to me is the one who I talked with yesterday. I look at it and tell him...I did not ask for free replacement insurance. So he took it off. I was so mad I left. Then once home I take another look at the receipt because the numbers did not add up ... To bad the store was closed! And add to that...no record that my spare had its plug. Nor if it was put on the car or kept as a spare. In fact when I called the next day no one knew if it had been fixed. I was told to come in and they would check it out. So I have to spend more of my time to get something accomplished that should have been taken care of in the first place. Rush you in, rush you out. High energy. Charming pressure sales tactics. Quick and dirty hoping to make money on the insurance. Guard your wallet. I am less than impressed and will never go to this store or this chain again. read more

Brought my car in to get tires, pretty straight forward. Asked the guy if they work on wheels without damaging them often. He says no problem. I get the car back and low and behold 3 of the wheels were scuffed from most likely their tire machine. When you curb a wheel, there are directional scratches on it, because the damn wheel is moving. When on a tire machine they push straight down onto the wheel. The Manager comes out to look at it with me, Older guy with gray hair, can't remember his name. Almost starts talking shit. "I've been in the tire business for 20 years and thats not from our machine". ok mr. manager whatever it was from doesn't matter. I dropped the car off with no scuffs, they are now scuffed. "It just looks like your finish is coming off the wheel". YES I KNOW THAT, BECAUSE OF THESE MARKS THAT WERE PLACED ON IT WHILE IN YOUR POSSESSION. I'm not here to argue with you about what caused it. "Looks like you just hit a curb". no, as i explained earlier, there would be directional scratches on it... see here, just like on this wheel on this other car right next to me. Whatever. He tries to send me to some shop to get them repaired that has absolutely horrible reviews. I decline and fix them on my own. Lesson learned. 3 months later, those 3 scuffed wheels now have loose valve stems letting out air from my tires. This location is trash and the people working at it are even worse. Going to wheel specialist and paying a little more is worth it. read more

When a woman needs any kind of car service from a wash to maintenance, she cringes & would rather plot her own death than deal with the bs that will surely ensue. The guys at this location are great and make me rethink offing myself. Sure, things haven't always been perfect but overall, they're honest, sincere, & don't talk to me like I'm an idiot. I appreciate that. Tires are expensive and you get what you pay for with quality and longevity but these guys give great service regardless of how much you're spending. Quick, polite, friendly, professional yet funny crew of employees they have here. Their prices reflect that they understand what people need due to the economy. I only wish they had more plugs for when one needs to work on their electronic device while waiting. I came in to replace worn out tires on even worse rims. I could only afford the most basic new tires. The staff here treated me like royalty. The went the extra mile to balance my crappy rims and tires. They even removed a spider from my car. Stopped by Discount Tire to get a nail taken out of my rear tire and filled. As soon as I walked in a gentlemen came out from behind the counter and welcomed me into the store. He assessed my tire and entered all of my info into the computer and said it would be about 30minutes. He was extremely friendly. I waited outside for about 25min and another gentleman pulled my car up front and said everything had been completed and they checked the pressure on my other tires as well. When I asked how much he smiled and said "Free, we hope that you come back and buy tires from Discount". I absolutely will! I bought my last set from Walmart and they were a nightmare. For years we have been customers at DT's Grayhawk Store near their Corporate Offices. Very good store with a very dangerous in and out on Scottsdale Rd. Service was always worthwhile. Moved further in town and now live near Tatum and Bell. This store has a more neighborly feel. TY greeted me and was over the top friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We have used this Discount Tire's location for over 25 years and the customer service has ALWAYS been outstanding. They also keep to their promises of their tire certificates as we've had a few tires over those years get a puncture in them and they have always replaced the tire free of charge with NO HASSLES. Upon checking stock, Chris notified me that they didn't have the tire I needed at this location and, the location that did have it, was already closed. Hmm. I'm not sure where to start. I understand it's a tire store and the employees are there to sale me tires and make a commission. However, I'm not a fan of being judged based on the tire I purchase. If they want to pay the difference, then let it go. The guy I was working with, took a glance at my tires and told me, you need new tires, these are dangerous. Ok, I get that. Maybe I shouldn't have waited so long, but don't start lecturing me. So, I go in and he shows me my tire options. He immediately starts selling me some tires and describes the benefits. I wasn't listening. You're telling me things that are going over my head. So, I ask about one of the tire options that are presented to me. He tells me those tires suck. THEN WHY DOES YOUR SHOP CARRY THEM IF THEY SUCK?! Someone, please tell me why? Because, you're providing me options and I pick one and now all of a sudden the tire you carry sucks? Anyways, I pick a second set of tires because now I'm questioning everything in life and my decision making. The guy told me, it's a better tire but not as great as... oh no, just stop. My boyfriend's tire blew out and Mark helped us get the best deal for an all-wheel drive car and even stayed late to get the tires changed asap, as we were leaving the next day on a road trip. Simple concept, make an appointment ahead of time so you don't have to wait. This is something this discount tire location can't seem to manage. Three times now I have waited over an hour and when I complain they apologize and say it was checked in wrong and didn't show I had an appointment. How hard is it to check someone in and match their name with the name of the person who has the appointment?! Every other business in America can handle it, but this location of Discount Tire seems to struggle. Not coming back even though its walking distance from my house. read more

I visited this location to get a tire rotation and it took 2 hours. 6 people that checked in after me all got done 30-45 minutes before I did. Nobody mentioned to me that the wait time was going to be this long and I even asked. 2 hours after the fact, I went up to Kendall and Mark (the manager) to ask what is going on and they were not sympathetic and told me "it's no big deal, it will be done in five minutes." But it took 30 extra minutes. Neither of them apologized or explained what happened the last two hours, they just told me my car was ready. The customer service was terrible and they did not care about how their guests felt walking out. I will not be going back to Discount Tire again. read more
