I had an appointment for 9:30, it was nearly 11 before they even pulled my truck in. All the while I watched people walk in with no appointment and be quoted less time than I had already waited. I went to this Discount Tire location today because I needed a nail removed from my tire and the tire put back on my car. I was driving on the short-term spare. They let me drop off the tire and sent me updates until it was finished. I got back to the store, and they told me it would be approximately 30 to change the tire. Had a n appt for my rotation and balance. The line is always ridiculous. The guy in front of me buying tires without an appt. He was told 90 minutes. For my rotation with an appt a one hour wait. So not sure why you make an appt as it appears to have no effect on wait times. I left, it is not free when I have to waste an hour. I find the waits to be insane and appointments are just a suggestion. Good tires and prices but LONG waits with appointments. Real issue. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else. Went in over the weekend to schedule an appointment to have my winter tires put on (you have to do this because they don't answer the phone). I was scheduled a few days out and told it would take an hour max. Showed up on time and was then told it would be an hour and a half wait. After an hour and 15 minutes they had not even moved my vehicle let alone worked on it. When I questioned them about it I was told they could "get it done in 10 minutes" and not to worry. If they can get it done in 10 minutes then why did I wait over an hour when I had an appointment? At that point I got a refund and left. I will never go back. I'm an America's Tire customer out of Sacramento, CA but was in Reno for work last Tuesday. As I was leaving the office, gearing up for a 2.5 hr drive home, my tire pressure light came on. I knew it was more than likely due to the temperature changes from coming over the pass that morning, but it's not something I wanted to take a chance on in case it was something else. I was that customer who pulled in shortly before closing -- the worst, right?! I was greeted promptly by a friendly tech who checked all of my tires without making me feel rushed, and he even went around a second time to check for nails or other potential damage. In the end, the dip in pressure was likely temperature related as I had guessed, which was resolved promptly and I was on my way. Consumer beware. I bought winter tires for both of my vehicles using TireRack.com. The tires were delivered to this location and I had an appointment for each vehicle to switch out the tires. First appointment: 1. Despite having an appointment, they did not service my car for 1 hour. The majority of my time was waiting for the car to be brought back. 2. I had the receipt for the purchase. I communicated the purchase to the employee doing intake. He had a digital version as well, including the make/model of my car, etc. I explained I had 2 sets of tires (one for the other car). They took my car back but informed me they had a "problem". The tires didn't fit. They were trying to put my SUV tires on my sedan, despite repeated communication that I had 2 separate vehicles. Second appointment: 1. One hour wait again for the car to be back, despite having an appointment time. 2. My wife brought her car in. Despite the tires being paid for online, they charged her in store for the tires (partially her mistake, as I told her we paid already). 3. proceeded to install the wrong tires. Made an appointment to have all four of my tires replaced on my beautiful, very beloved GMC Yukon. Generally go to Tires Plus, have been for the last 13 plus years, and have never been overly disappointed! The prices are always fair and the staff do the best they know how, but mostly the prices are always fair, great really! And in comparison to all other brand spanking new tires in town, their prices simply cannot be beat. Had a slow leak on a single tire and was on the verge of coming into my fourth year w these puppies, so needed to get into somewhere as quickly as possible! Called Discount Tires and they were able to get me in that very day and that they did! Spoke with Billy who was also the representative that we met at the front desk, he is an absolutely amazing human being!! His customer skills are his certainly one of his top strengths, he truly knows how to make you feel like you're the only person in the room that matters. Highly friendly, excellent sales man, and is as cool, calm and collected as a cucumber! The man definitely knows his stuff! At the outside, the 2 stars are for the, staff who worked on the car, to replace a new tire, were absolutely outstanding, but the problem is this manager, who inspected the tire and said it cannot be fixed and he sold me a new tire. I took the old tire to Big O tires, down the road and the older manager fixed it. The manager at the Discount tire. Nwas not only dishonest but lied to me about the waiting time of 2 hours when the actual waiting time was less than 15 minutes. He should be fired or demoted. I purchased 2 sets of new tires from Discount Tire. The snow tires were causing vibration at speed. I brought it back 4 times, they just kept rebalancing the wheels and not fixing the issue. Brought the car to another shop and they found the issue right away, the wrong lug nuts were being used. The new shop indicated that I was lucky that the wheels didn't fall off. All and all a good experience. The one star minus was an issue we had right after that was quick to fix but we didn't have a chance to go back and allow them to rectify the issue. I ordered new tires from Discount Tires. When ordering I confirmed the new tires wouldn't rub, they confirmed. When I went in to get my tires done, they quoted me an hour. An hour in my car was still sitting in the parking lot, it took 2 hours total and when I went to get my car the technician informed me that only 3 out of 4 tires arrived in the order so I would need to come back in for the 4th. When I left the store I found out the front tire rubs. They said they would call when it arrived, 2 days later, I called them to check the status of the tire and they said it had arrived. When I went back to get the 4th tire put on I asked about the rubbing and how they could fix it, they said they wouldn't be able to fix it and instead they recommend I CUT a piece of my car off to prevent the rubbing. They also informed me after the service they don't align the tires. I left, went across to Big O tires. They aligned the tires, stopped the rubbing and had me in and out in 30 minutes. Mike and his team were amazing - our mechanic at Greg's Garage in Reno (who I highly recommend) found the aftermarket tires I had on my 4x4 Sprinter van (purchased at a different shop in a different state) were dangerously rubbing their inside sidewalls on the upright shock struts. Mike extensively researched the exact dimension tires this van needed, special ordered them from their warehouse in Florida (which was very kind considering the supply chain issues currently) and had them installed the day they arrived off the truck. I showed up with tires in bought from walmart, I originally paid for walmart to put them on and they said i never paid for any of that and tried to up charge me again. I knew at that point id head over to discount tire because I've worked there in the past for 2 years and i knew i could trust them to take care of my wife's car that my kid rides in as well. Tried first a handful of service station air boxes, all of which were either in disrepair or out-of-order. All the crew starting with intake assessment guy Alex were really cool. ANDDD, took care of my flat FREE of charge (plug-patch repair). Which was really cool, because I wasn't looking to come out of pocket for a rental car (likely a non-reimbursable expense). Crew had me back out on the road within a workable 2 1/4 hr. timeframe. Tidy solution all other options considered, as the tire likely wouldn't have made it home with just air alone. Summing up, if you're a local Renoite or out-of-towner needing emergency flat repair--and assuming you can safely make it here--Discount Tire has a welcoming & accommodating policy for such situations. Took my car to Discount Tire for flat repair, I live in San Leandro, Ca and they claimed to have repaired the tire but half way home tire was going flat. Had to pull off freeway and tried to air up tire and it kept leaking out, had to purchase a can of fix a flat to make it home. Took car to America's Tore where I originally purchased tire and showed them that the same screw is in the tire and they said , they didn't offer to replace tire? Had a 5:30pm appt for 4 new tires. Wasn't done until about 745pm. That's fine. I was just happy to get them on after work. I commute for work so my tires have to be perfect. On my drive up to Tahoe my car started shaking. Turns out they only put the tires on and sent me on my way. Which is unacceptable. I've never experienced this. They have a lot of young looking kids doing the work and even tho the guy at the front said they were working on overtime(which I appreciate) they were back there yelling and dancing and being kids. Not really what I want to see from people working on my car. It's a life or death thing. So it's pretty much the complaint everyone has from this place. I will say everyone is very nice and professional at the front counter. But I'm now missing work because I'm here again getting the work completed. I also heard the guy say they are booked solid but they did get me in. But they absolutely should have since it's their f up.
