I was completely disappointed with my service. My car tire monitor indicated that Discount Tire inflated my new tire to an incorrect level. The also Did not bother to check and/or adjust the other tires. This is something even Jiffy Lube does. It would have literally taken in one minute. If the tire levels are incorrect or not set to factory level the tires will wear. I would've at least expected them to do that as just part of the service I guess I thought wrong but I feel they were absolutely wrong for not even putting the air to the proper level on my new tire read more

My car was telling me I have low tire pressure, I went to three different self-serve gas stations, trying to fill up my tires, but it seemed more air was coming out, then going in. I swung by tires plus, they were so busy. Cameron, the front desk clerk was so nice and had me pull up immediately to one of the auto bays, and Jose came and checked all my tires, and filled me up, keeping me safe on the road. There was not even a charge for this. They were so awesome and kind. I didn't realize how low my tires truly were and it would've been so unsafe for me to continue driving on them. This is an okay place to bring your vehicle for tires. My experiences with this company would warrant 4-5 stars until today's visit. My tires are less a than a year old and I just purchased a replacement here 3 months ago. At that time, I was told that my tires were fine; so new that I could purchase just one tire for my AWD SUV instead of 4. Today I arrived for my tire rotation and was told that all of my tires need replacement. I brought up what I was told last time and was told that she meant to say that it was time to start "thinking" about replacing my tires. So, Discount Tire, which is it? Are my one year old tires that were in awesome shape 3 months ago(including the one that is only 3 months old) okay to drive on or do I need new tires? I get that you want to sell everyone new tires, but ethically questionable sales strategies aren't the way to keep good customers coming back. read more

I've been to this specific location a total of 3 times within the last year and I've had overall really good experiences. My first time here was last spring because one of my tires had a nail in it. From walking through the front door to leaving with my tire replaced, it took about 2 hours and I was very happy with the service. My last two trips were all in the past week. Make sure you come early or make an appointment!! I don't know if it's because of the weather or that they just got really popular but the wait times are very long. The second time I came in, I had to get my tire replaced again because it popped. I walked in at around 9am and they estimated that they'd have it done by 5pm! The car was ready 2 hours earlier though. The third time I went, I came in 10 minutes after they opened and there was already a line of at least 10 other people. It took about half an hour before I got helped and when I explained my concern, they didn't really inspect my tires that well. They basically just walked around my car and touched my tires a couple times (3 minutes tops) before saying they didn't know what was wrong. They did check my tire pressure though. It felt like they were overwhelmed with so many people in line that they were rushing me out. While the wait times are very long now, I don't fault it to the employees or company. Every time I came, I saw that every help station had an employee and every spot in their repair center was taken- they're just very popular so get in early or make an appointment if you can. The lobby is very clean and spacious plus the store is very close to many restaurants. Dropped off car for appointment only to be called 15 mins after drop off that they don't have the rims and cannot install my tires. But offered to order rims from Texas and install in January. This is my preferred location! Out of all the Reno locations this one is the most spacious and there is always open parking. I've always received speedy service here and they offer free air fills for your tires! But my favorite thing about this store is Rafael! He makes this experience even better. We came here because of the ratings. But I must say I didn't have the same experience as the others. We purchased 4 set of tires last May with 40,000 miles warranty on it. The tires has only been driven 6600 miles and the tires are bald. One associate say that there's an alignment problem on the car and that would void the warranty on the tire and that they emailed me to bring the car for tire rotation but never really did. Of course they tried to play that the error was that the box to send an auto reminder for tire rotation wasn't checked therefore the email wasn't sent. A warranty should be a warranty. They should honor that especially when the tires has only been driven 6,600 miles Obviously we barely drive the car if in 7 months it only accrue 6,600 miles. I used to go to Costco for all my tire needs but it is difficult to get an appointment there nowadays and Costco seems to also be continuously out of stock while they only sell high end pricey tires. I bought my tires on TireRack and they recommended Discount Tire, who offered the best price for tire installation. Also, one of my tire pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS) was going out, and I got an outrageous price offer from the dealership, so I bought 4 TPMS from TireRack. I mentioned this to the person who checked me in at Discount Tire, and he got the TPMS and told me he would put them in. I noted that along with their normal service, TPMS maintenance is included, so I was hopeful. I was amazed when I got my car that I was only charged for the tire installation, the TPMS installation was handled gratis. As this installation was to put new snow tires on for the season, and my "regular" tires were past 4/32, you can be sure that I will be back there to have them install the new tires that I buy at the end of the snow season. Today was my first time ever visiting a Discount Tire. I set up an appointment online, which I absolutely loved. As soon as I got there, the gentleman checked me in and checked out my tires as well as mileage on my vehicle. He immediately informed me that the tread on my tires were worn down to a bit of a "hazardous" point. So, we looked into the best tires for my needs. My main reason for visiting was just for a tire rotation, but the fact that he was not pushy at all and seemed genuinely concerned with my safety made it an easy sale. Last time I was at Discount Tire, it was back in Vegas. Now that I'm living in Reno, I knew I needed snow/winter tires. Though I walked in knowing just about only that! Thankfully, the guys working here are super friendly and were able to guide me in the right direction of what I should get for my first set of snow tires, as well as what is normal "snow tire etiquette" (buying a set of snow tires and having a separate set of summer/spring tires)! From lemons to lemonade! I made an appointment with Discount Tire for a set of all weather tires the website said were in stock. Upon arrival, the place was a madhouse of people. When it came to my turn in line, I was told they didn't have those tires in stock but had better ones. Yes better, but bigger price tag! They gave me a $20 per tire discount and I grudgingly accepted because I didn't want to come back or leave without new tires. After all, I had made an appointment. Well I just got a call from Discount Tire saying the tires I ordered have arrived (two hours after I left). I explained that it's too late now, as I already paid and received new tires. Dave checked my account and stated that they should have honored the original price. The shipment was delayed and they want to make it right. Great customer service experience. I went online on Monday 11/26/18 to look at tires. I found the ones I wanted and called the store to order them since they didn't have them in stock. The gentleman I spoke to told me they would be here either Wednesday or Thursday. Well there has been a lot of snow in the area which I was aware of, and when I called today, Friday 11/30/18 to ask if my tires had come in, they told me they haven't come in yet, and the weather has been affecting their deliveries. That's fine, I totally understand. The gentleman I was speaking to was named Dave. He was concerned for me to not have new tires since there's another snow storm coming the next few days, and told me he had some Goodyear, top of the line tires in stock at the store that he could upgrade me to, and he would give them to me for the same price of the other tires I ordered since I have been waiting patiently for these, and they still haven't come. Also so I'd be driving safe in the winter weather with new tires. The Falcon tires I wanted were $97 a tire, and the Goodyear wrangler tires he had in stock were priced at $137 a tire. But he gave them to me for $97 each just so I didn't have to wait over the weekend for the Falcons to come in and be on my old tires! That's some great customer service! He also still gave me the mail in rebate for online orders as well. I'm used to tire places always trying to rip me off, or try to get my money, and this was not the case here, he was genuinely concern about my safety which is hard to come by! Please do yourself a favor and never use Discount Tires for your tire needs. They completely lied to me about the type of tires that my car could use and I have now gone through 3 sets of tires, a total of $1400, in the last six months because they have completely worn out in less that 1,000 miles. I was told that my Mercedes would only be able to take performance racing tires, $800 for a set. So I bought these tires trusting them and within 500 miles they were completely balled and ready to blow out again. I took it back thinking I would get a new set put on for free... not the case. They charged me again for the back tires claiming "there is no warranty for the type of tires that will work on this car". I asked if I could get a set of non performance tires with a warranty, they said that the only tires that would work on my car were performance racing tires which did not come with a warranty. Fast forward another 2 months and less than 400 miles later and the back tires are completely balled again. Rather than deal with their complete incompetence and lack of customer service again I decided to get tires through a company in Incline. They took one look at the tires installed by Discount Tires and said these are completely inappropriate tires for what you're looking for. They are made for racing and only to last less than a thousand miles. I said that those are the only ones that will work on this car I was told, wrong. They put a set of tires with a 60,000 mile warranty made for an everyday car. I was lied to and taken advantage of by both Discount Tires and Bridgestone as I tried to talk to the manufacturer of the tires as well and was told there was nothing they could do. I did not get discount tires I got discounted service and cheap, terrible, VERY expensive tires instead. I will never be using a discount tire again or a Bridgestone Tire again. I really suggest to price tires around town and go to somewhere who will take care of you rather than take advantage of you. I am now out $1,400 dollars in six months on tires which is absolutely ridiculous. Would not recommend to anyone looking for decent tires and service. read more

Absolutely phenomenal service! I went in just after 4 pm today (a Thursday) and assumed they'd be completely booked through closing (at 6 pm) but DAVE, the greatest service rep EVER, did a walk-around of my car, gave me different tire and price options and within fifteen minutes my car was in the bay getting four beautiful non-bubbled (see earlier review of Sierra Car Care) tires. I walked over to QDOBA, got a drink and some queso and chips and sat in the waiting room. The shop is I M M A C U L A T E and unbelievably professional. And the air conditioning was a great relief today, for me and for my baby Nacho who was with me all day long panting and boiling while I got several life-changing errands completed. I seriously can't adequately express what a relatively pain-free experience this tire-shopping experience was. Oh and interestingly, the total came to $420 and was charged at 4:37. I came to Discount Tires to replace all four of my tires for my Hyundai. The friendly staff took a look at my car and quoted me $599 for replacement tires (with a $70 rebate). After driving off the lot, as I was driving home, I noticed that my car was shaking. I flipped the quickest U-turn that I've ever flipped in my life and got back to the shop. When I returned, they informed me that the tires were improperly aligned, and that they would fix them immediately. They took the car back into the shop and fixed the issue within ~20 minutes. Hey, everyone makes mistakes, right? This is not something I'd normally write a review for, but then I drove off the lot again. After retrieving my keys, I began driving home when I noticed that my TPMS light was on. By the time I left the lot for the second time, the store was closed, so I returned the next day. They do say the third time's the charm, because they somehow managed to do their jobs correctly and my car was given to me with no problems. Do better, Discount Tires. read more

After a day of intense work situations and Calgon-take-me-away moments, I had again failed to make the trip with my teen daughter's car to the tire shop before closing. Adding to the my despair was realizing not only had I failed once again to make the Craigslist POS teen vehicle safe for driving, but also that I was now even too late for Flowing Tide happy hour. 2-2 lose-lose - just like the 49ers past two weeks. So sitting in the dark in the parking lot, I called my man-friend (because who has a 'boyfriend' after the age of 16?) to pick me up as I planned on leaving the car until the next day for when the shop reopened. Then lo-and-behold, a smiling face appeared at my window asking me if I needed help. Cody (cute, young, NW girls come catch him quick) talked with his managers Dave and Brennen (equally attractive, polite and helpful) to request that I leave my car inside the locked bay until the next day. To my surprise the locked bay doors opened, lights came flying back on and the boyz rolled the old girl into the bay. Brennen got my information on the computer and while I was asking what time to come back the next day, out of the corner of my eye, the NASCAR Discount Tire team started to roll. "What the heck?!" Ok, my language might have been rated non-PG. What the hell was going on? The team was actually putting on my tires after hours? After bay doors had been closed? Not for a Bentley, not for a Bugatti, but for '98 POS Hunday/Hundai whatever? Seriously? Dave, the manager, and Brennen, the assistant manager, said "Really, it's ok. We're here to help. We were worried about you having a ride home and it was not problem to just get-er-done." A tear came to my eye. A real tear of joy, not just from the Nevada Zephyr winds blowing through the northwest. End of story? I'm now home with 4 new tires for my teen daughter to destroy. And I'm taking the time to write a real review, not just a tip for the service team at Discount Tires. True customer service with caring individuals is not seen very often these days.
