I purchased 4 new tires in summer of 2025. Within 3 months one of the 4 tires was flat. I took it back to this location for repair and under warranty the tire was patched for free. about 6 months later the same tire was flat again -NO NAILS OR OBJECTS WERE FOUND TO HAVE PUNCTURE THE TIRE EITHER TIME. The patch seemed to be OK, it was a mystery. The tire was patched again for free and returned. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On this second trip I specifically asked for a new tire, but was denied. I told them I had to drive 1,000 miles for a road trip the next day and I needed to make sure the tire was OK. Absolutely 0 consideration for the trip by the techs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They did nothing basically but jack the wheel cover up, please see the attached photos. I didn't look at the time to see how badly their craftsmanship was. Instead I took a look the following day when the tire started to lose air on the way to Dallas. I had to pull over 3 times at filling stations to put air in the tire in order to make it to Dallas. In Dallas I visited another discount tire location where they not only gave me a new tire, but diagnosed the other one and surmised a bar code on the inside of that tire was pushing up against the rim and likely causing my loss of air. read more

A very disappointing experience. We purchased two tires from here a few weeks ago and then returned when the new tire went flat. Sadly they discovered my rear rim was cracked. On 02/06 a new rim was paid for and ordered, we were told it would take 3-5 days to arrive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On 02/12 we called to check the status and was told they received the rim, we were disappointed that we had to do the follow up but we scheduled an appointment to have our car dropped off and fixed on 02/13.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We told the shop that we would be out of town until Saturday and would pick the car up then. We were assured there were no issues and that my car would be ready by then.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We didn't get back on Saturday until after 5, so waited until Monday when they reopened to pick up the car. Around 1230 on Monday I was given my keys and told my car was good to go. I noticed my donut was still on my car and decided to double check the tire in the trunk, it was un-replaced still with the original cracked rim. It was beyond frustrating to have to do all the follow up on the delivery of the rim, give them extra time to fix the issue, and then allowed to leave without the job I paid for completed. If not for my due diligence I would have still been in the same position with my tire. While I appreciate the $86 I was refunded, it does not really make up for the poor service on the $628 I spent. read more

This was my first solo visit, and it didn't end super well. My husband has always done this stuff and on the bargain side by ordering it buying used. I am now separated and had a road trip coming. Came in for "inspection" and seemed that the tire I worried about the tread was still ok but we've patched multiple times and one was closer to the edge than recommended. Back tires were "4" on their scale and in the yellow zone to replace. Tech showed me the price on all four with his best deal. $900. I texted my SO and son for advice. Didn't get what I needed in time, told them to go ahead. Once I got home, my son said "why didn't you get two and wait in the others?" I though about asking but it didn't get out and I took the upsell. It's not their fault I'm green and uninformed. It is their job to "sell" the tires, but it would have been nice when he saw my "sticker shock" face and me scrambling to cover it to suggest splitting the purchase. But maybe they never do that. I came here because my daughter had a good experience with a Discount Tire when she was at college and needed tires. I have been a loyal Discount Tire customer for many years; however, the last tires I bought, I had to buy in California. Discount Tire is not in California, so we bought from the dealership. A few days ago, I went by my local Discount Tire because I had a low tire light on. The guy said I had a nail in a different tire. The wait was over an hour so since it wasn't leaking, I made an appointment for a later date. When I went it today, they asked if I'd purchased the tires there and I explained that I hadn't. They took off the tire and told me two of the lug nuts were stripped so I had to buy new ones ($100). (You have to buy a whole set.) I've had many cars in my 60+ years and have NEVER - NOT ONCE had to buy a lug nut. Then, when they took the tire off, they saw it had been previously patched. I had forgotten that we had hit a nail in Maryland a couple of months ago and had the tire repaired there. They guy told me they couldn't patch it again - that it was a safety issue because the other tire company had patched the tire and not plugged it, and my only option was to buy a new tire. (I've since checked this with other tire companies and that is TOTAL baloney.) So I went in with a tire that wasn't even leaking and ended up $300 ($200 for the tire and $100 for the lug nuts) in the hole. By the way - the tire I purchased in California was from a dealer and was $140. This one was $195. Same tire. I never thought I'd see the day anything in California was less expensive than something in Texas - especially from a car dealership!! If I could rate less than 1 star I would. I won't be back. Normally have no issues with these guys, but caught several inconsistencies this time. Told tire had nail, but when I came back for repair (had to get to work) it changed to several nails. Should have asked to see tires and when originally purchased last May, the insurance wasn't added like I asked. My fault for not checking receipt. No call that the tire was delivered today (called multiple times and was also told it was from different store then from warehouse ). Finally in and the price quoted higher including insurance for all tires (was told 24.99 now 36 plus). He "kindly " removed install fee but noticed on receipt extra fee equal to charge removed. My recent visit to Discount tire had a couple of "distractions" I wasn't expecting, but still earned a great rating. I had gone in to get a flat fixed and they discovered the tire was the wrong size. Apparently when I went to a southwest San Antonio Discount Tire location they put on the wrong size. This location was good enough to change out the tire with the correct size. Thank you guys!! Unfortunately though when they put the tire back on they didn't give me the key to my locking lug nuts. I didn't notice it until I had gotten home and they were closed. So I went the next morning to let them know what had happened. Luckily they had a set of locking lug nuts in their shop and they offered to break off the old ones and replace them with the new ones. They really came through for me in making a positive out of what had originally been a negative. They did the right things all the way around and I truly appreciate the professionalism they showed. Total dishonest from arrival , after speaking with ben, he tried to sell me new tires so bad , my car only needed balance , but he got upset when I told him that I need to know the cause of the problem before approving repaired , as a result he did not even do what should have been done, and concluded saying it's low quality tires. Biggest lie. And they left dirty greasy marks on my door handle and steering wheel. I spoke to the sales manager to let him know what happened, but he only offered to coach his guy . Called ahead to see if my flat could be fixed, was told they weren't busy and to come in. Waited an hour and half! On first inspection, couldn't find an object making my tire go flat... was told that my tires were old but didn't necessarily need to be replaced. Told me my spare was too old to replace the tire (if needed) but they never looked at my spare! After getting my car, the inside was filthy from the technician sitting in the drivers seat. Didn't notice until today I'm missing a lug nut!! Will say the staff was very friendly. My 2016 ram 2500 6.7 Cummins short bed had GDY WRANGLER ULTRATERRAIN AT 35 X12.50R17 LT 121Q E2 SBL tires with the certificates. Overall it is a decent tire for the price and roughly got around 38k miles out of them. I ended up having an impact bubble that prompted me to replace said tire and instead of replacing just one tire I had considered to swap all the rest. The sales representative I spoke to was Mike Flores, this gentleman was extremely friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and patient. Mike was there to build a relationship with the customer and not only himself but the business. Mike understood my concerns with getting into new tires and recommended to do the entire swap at that point. He did mention the wranglers I had are decent tires but to get the most out of my money he definitely recommended the NIT NITTO RIDGE GRAPPLER 35 X12.50R17 LT 121Q E2 BSW. I was reluctant at first and very hesitant with the switch due to the tire being a more expensive tire. Mike allowed me to take the time and look it through between reviews and reassuring that I could not go wrong with such an upgrade. At no time did i ever felt pressured to make such decision. Mike made this interaction more than a transaction, he is definitely up front where he needs to be. When it came time to get the tires to come in Robert was able to help me roll into them, it was 3/3/2022 the tires were ready to be installed. Robert was also great with my concerns with finalizing and pulling the trigger. Robert was extremely helpful in the this whole process working with me and Henry. My truck went into the bay at 8:27 am and was being handled by Henry Washington. Henry and his bay/team were absolutely great. Everyone there were happy to work hard and provide an excellent service. This team handled my 17" black rhino wheels. By no means a light wheel. During the entire process they were happy and efficiently working the tires. I spoke to not only Henry directly but the rest of the team. Everyone answering all my questions and concerns. They were knowledgeable and professional being able to handle such a busy demanding environment while dealing with me. As a business you'd want these guys working for you. I told them I wanted to keep my old tires except the bad on and instantly they all were communicating and relaying what was needed. They completed the job around 9:00-9:10am. Extremely fast and keep in mind my truck weighs about 8.5k lbs while they are talking to me answering all my questions/concerns with the integrity of the wheel, the weight of the wheel. They all definitely deserve the recognition, no short comings what so ever. Overall spending the amount of money I did on heavy duty truck tires has never felt better. With the rising cost of products around the country, purchasing said products was great and the value between the products, the customer service, and the warranty. You can no beat it. I needed my tire patched, so I went to Walmart, they had a long wait and sounded disinterested in helping, so I gave discount tire a call. They greeted me and told me they could have it done in a few minutes. Once I arrived at Discount Tires, I was greeted by Hunter who explained to me that they could patch my tire with no problem, but wanted to look at the rest of my tires as it was their protocol. He did a test on all of them and proceeded to tell me that my tires were in pretty bad shape, I already knew that. He was not pushy at all just wanted to me aware for my own safety. He made me feel like he really cared! We got to talking and already long story short in ended up getting all new four tires! It was my decision he was never pushy. I explained to him that I had somewhere to be in one hour so he literally ran to the back to take them my keys and my car was done in 45 minutes! The same amount it would have taken to patch my old tire. What a helpful young man! Mccombs told me they found a nail and while it was repairable, the tires were excessively worn and needed to be replaced. When I declined to replace the tires, they wanted to charge me 45 bucks to patch the hole... AGAIN, I declined. I took the truck to Discount Tire, they checked all the tires, none in need of replacement due to excessive wear...and the cost to fix the nail hole...NADA!
