He and his crew at Brake Check are nothing but incompetent hacks who will destroy your vehicle and then refuse to take any responsibility for the damage they cause. I brought my car in for a simple alignment, and these clowns managed to snap my outer tie rod. (My car is from the north so there's a little rust but if it was not able to be worked on I should've been refused service from the get go.) Instead of owning up to their mistake, they left my car immobilized, then had the audacity to jury-rig it with chicken wire and basically told me to get lost, like it was somehow my problem now. No apology, no offer to fix what they broke just total negligence and zero accountability. Avoid the Brake Check on Marbach. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had! I was there for a wheel stud and lug nut replacement and drove out with only 3 wheel studs and lug nuts out five and a quote of over $1,000. Jawad, the manager, provided shockingly poor customer service. He recommended an unnecessary repair, then let me drive off in unsafe conditions that they caused by removing two wheel studs and lug nuts that were supposed to be replaced. They performed no proper analysis before jumping into the work. Experts? I seriously doubt it. It seems they had no idea what removing these parts would do to the safety of my vehicle or thought they would corner me into paying out for the excessive quote. Initially I was excited to work as an Executive Assistant to the CEO of Brake Check. I thought it was a great opportunity for me to learn more about business operations, marketing, planning and more. During my interview I made it clear that I had not had any experience in this field or as an assistant but was willing and happy to learn how to do so. After nearly 10 years in the mortgage industry and running a team, I felt confident I could do this. Once I was on board, I could tell the CEO was not a fan of me, despite my best efforts he was constantly belittling me with his mannerisms and in the way he spoke to me. Instead of taking the time to teach me things David Peveto made it clear that he was not interested in teaching me anything and he expected me to know it. God forbid I asked a question. There were days where I felt okay about my job and days where I thought I would be getting fired, you never know what you got when he walked through the door and the leadership makes it clear when "he is in a mood" I even asked for feedback on how I was doing, and he did not have a single positive thing to say, instead he criticized me and pointed out a single instance where I did not fully understand his request. This job was emotionally and mentally draining-I have text message after text message telling my friends how I felt. I cried in the bathroom multiple times, on my drives there and drives home and yet I still continued to show up because I wanted this to work. I have never in my life been treated worse by an employer. I asked him about the company, and he mentioned that 2 seats rotate there-the Executive Assistant seat and the HR seat...and I can see why. The day I was fired David texted me saying that he was doing my job, I called him to get clarification on the task he assigned me, and he proceeded to cuss me out. Telling me that I am not "fucking listening to him" that I am "not fucking listening at all" and that I am not "fucking getting it" multiple times then proceeded to let me go and hang up on me the week before Thanksgiving. You inspire your people by getting to know them, figure out what moves them. You equip your people through training, leadership, and mentorship. Went in for a routine maintenance oil change. I had a coupon and wanted to save money so I came here. My vehicle never had any oil issues prior to me coming. Never leaked oil, nothing. Oil change was done and I started noticing oil spots in my driveway a couple days later. I took my vehicle back up there, they raised it up and showed me where it was leaking. They stated that I needed to replace the oil pan gasket and my car was also leaking from a hose up above the gasket. They stated my gasket needed to be replaced. This wasn't an issue before I got my oil change. I'm certain they put my gasket on too tight, perhaps even stripping it. I have to pay for this gasket myself now. At 1st they weren't willing to do anything. They stated "Well it's not leaking alot of oil." It shouldn't be leaking NONE! I guess the service manager wasn't going to take responsibility until I insisted that something should be done. He stated that if I replace the gasket then they would replace the oil. This was poor customer service. I've now had the headache of running around town looking for this part and having to wait cause it needs to be special ordered. I will never return to this place again. I should have taken it to where I usually go, a real oil change place, not a place that specializes in something else and does rush jobs for oil changes. And the shocks may have been generously greased by my mechanic (which might appear they have a leak, but a good mechanic knows the difference). But shocks were not leaking. Besides any good mechanic knows that if the shocks fail or work. They have nothing to do with the alignment. I will never go back to brake check, never again. After putting replaced pads on , which my original pads were still had food amount of life on them . I still went ahead and did what they recommended and replaced the pads , drove home which is about 8miles down the road , thw wheels were completely smoking , looked like car was in fire , I immediately called them back only for them to state that it was normal, I them drive about 10 more miles around And still the pads were smoking went to UPS the people there said that my car is on fire I went to go look at the car it was just a pad smoking called brake check back again told him I was bringing the jeep back came back the same day three hours after the first original replacement they could not remove the pads , The pads and calipers were stuck to the rotors . Once again my vehicle drove fine the brakes were fine I just brought it in for preventative maintenance and for them to have the brakes looked/ replaced only for them to make the vehicle drive horrible and unsafe and then ask for more money to fix it . I work next-door at the Baptist hospital to this location brought my vehicle and thinking I could trust the place and that sucks that this had to happen. I can't say enough about the job and exceptional service performed on my vehicle. It does have high end Brembos and service parts I'm sure aren't as easily available as more basic braking systems go. They had the brake pads and slapped em on in less than a couple hrs(which was amazing)an charged me the offer that was being promoted. I was expecting to pay $400 for brake pads and would've been left w/out my vehicle for prolly a weeks time if I took it to the dealer and they would've made up other things to charge me more for. I was real worried about being over sold on things that I really didn't want. I did a lot of research of brake jobs before I went so that I understood the lingo. Tucker really made this an A+ experience. When I pulled up to the location I was greeted in the parking lot. It was very surprising and really set the tone. I new right away I was gonna be taken well care of. When the car was taken apart the took me took me in the garage and proceeded to educate me on the job that was needed. He didn't know I had done my research but it was nice to know that they take the time to make sure you understand. He recommended the repairs but never pushed me in to doing more than I could. I brought my car in for brake and strut replacement on 20 December 2022. I was informed that the front and rear brakes as well as all four shocks needed replaced. I went ahead and asked for all the work to be done, minus the rear brakes. Fast forward to this week, I take my car to my mechanic to have the rest of my suspension work done, and they perform an inspection before ordering parts. They informed me that the cv axle sleeve was leaking. They suggested I go back to brake check and discuss the leak with them. I go talk to Choom, who had helped me on 20 December, and I explained the problem. They said that since they didn't replace the CV axles, that the leak was not their fault. however, in order to replace struts, you must extend the CV axle to access the strut. this or over extending the CV axle, could cause a leak. However brake check refused to even accept that this could potentially be an installation error on that part or at least look at the leak in person. They completely blew me off and the grease that is leaking out of the CV sleeve is fresh grease. So if it was leaking before, why did they not tell me it was leaking and offer service? This means it was a new leak and brake check completely blew me off rather than try to resolve the issue. No other work had been done since they had the car. After spending $1400 on front brakes and four struts, I expected better customer service. This will unfortunately be the last time I will ever use or recommend brake check. I hope management up higher in the chain will correct this issue. read more

Here's an honest assessment. Went in on Thursday to schedule a brake repair. Guys seemed friendly upfront and appeared to give me an honest probability of what I would be looking at in regards to my brake problems. Arrived at my appointment on Saturday only to find no one at the front. After waiting several minutes they finally took my car in. Once everything was all said and done found the price to be a little extreme. I was charged $102 for labor And according to the invoice I had two new rotors that cost me $145 each. So there's an honest assessment unlike the ones that you will be reading. Maybe it would've cost me less somewhere else maybe not I do not know. Also when taking my credit card information, all my personal information he did on speakerphone of which I am glad that there was no one else in the room at the time, but a little uncomfortable with my drivers license and credit card information being out in the open like that. read more

I go to the location after having had called and said my reward would be accommodated, all for them to say they no longer offer that reward. WORST PLACE EVER TO REPLACE YOUR BRAKES!!!! My steering wheel was shaking and we went to this place for a brake inspection. After their poor inspection, they said that we have to replace both front disks, rotors, calipers and pads to solve the problem. I followed their recommendation and spent almost $900 to replace everything in the front. After less than 18 month, the steering wheel started shaking again and I went one more time to the shop and this time they said all 4 discs, all 4 calipers, the pads and the rotors were damaged. So they wanted to charge me $1,400, to solve the problem that was caused by their poor installation and because they only use cheap parts. They also told me that they can't do anything else because the warranty is only for 1 year. That's BS!!! You know why they give you 1 year warranty?? Because they know that nothing is going to happen in 1 year, but they are sure that something is going to be wrong in less than 2 years. That's why their warranty is so short!! There are a lot of others places that offer 2 years warranty in labor and disk or calipers (I learned that late). They don't do anything right, they just want to make you a regular customer and want you to spend money in your brakes every single year. This is so unfair! Don't waste your time!! I took my Chrysler 200 in after having driven it from the east coast and knew my brake pads needed to be replaced, between the mi.age and knowing the last time I'd had them done I knew it was time. When I got there they did their inspection and explained the car needed the pads, resurfacing of the disc, brake fluid flush and some additional part replacements which I agreed and paid close to $580.00 for all 4 brakes to get replaced and fix any "recommended" issues . I picked up my car Friday after work, they had my car all day and when I drove it home (6 miles from location) the car was making a weird rattling noise and I thought it was because the brakes were new, I didn't drive my car all weekend as we are still practicing our shelter in place due to Covid, but on Monday am the noise was worse when I drove it to work and I knew something was wrong I called the shop and was told a manager would call me back, at noon I still had not heard back and I went to pick up a staff lunch and as I was driving back and I was making a turn and trying to slow down my brakes had no friction when I stopped basically my car kept rolling and I felt as if my car was not going to stop even with me stepping the pedal all the way down, I've never had or been able to put that much pressure on my brake peddle. It was and is a very scary feeling when your car dosent slow down or stop after applying brake pressure. I called the store back and John returned my call, when I told him what had happened he mentioned thier might be air stuck in the lines and asked I bring the car back which I did after work. I stayed on frontage road and drove slowly, upon arrival and inspection he came out and apologized because they had over -tightened a bolt and it broke on the caliper. He then proceed to say " I'm not sure how you made it here as you definitely should not drive it like this, it's very dangerous" as well as "you must have angels looking over you" All I could keep thinking after that was i could have been in a bad accident and seriously hurt and hurt someone else....and what I got was we are sorry and the part will need to be ordered from the dealership so the car needs to stay. So I now have no car, no idea for how long and an I'm sorry and can I get you an Uber....what in the world is wrong with this ? First let me say I appreciate the politeness from John, but now I have anger and fear set in at the thought of what may have happened had I been in an accident and saying I'm sorry and offering me an Uber ride home is unacceptable. I plan on taking my car elsewhere to have them check the work they did and make sure nothing is broken and that my brakes work. I'm not even had a GM call and try to make things right . read more

I was able to walk in and get same day brake service within two hours. Pricing seems pretty good (the dealer quoted me nearly 4x the price). They offer a la carte pricing. Brake pads were $69/ axle, rotors $30 each, brake fluid change is $59, caliper hardware was $31 per axle, etc. They do a free inspection first, explained what they recommend for service while showing me my vehicle and parts and let me decided what to do with no pressure! Very pleasant experience and the way it should be. They even send a link to the recommendations with explainer videos. This was helpful to learn more about some of the recommended services, why they were recommended, and I can use this information to come back later and add on some services if I feel it will benefit the life of the car. Staff was friendly, helpful, and timely. Very refreshing in "these" times. I would definitely recommend and will return. I also like that they ONLY do brakes, alignments, and oil changes. Brake jobs don't require a general mechanic diagnosis. For this type of maintenance I'd rather have a company be an expert in a few things than mediocre in general car repair. My brakes were replaced here in July. I was very pleased with the service at that time. Fast forward to today..while at my dealership for an oil change, etc, they tell me my brake hose was leaking. They said hoses were on back order until at least 10/20. I immediately picked up my car from the dealership and drove to brake check. They were busy but made time for me. After a thorough check, bleeding my lines, etc, the manager, Theodore, assured me the only issue had been a loose bracket which was tightened and my brakes were in great working order.
