I ordered the tires online which were sent to this location within a day. Scheduling an appointment was easy once I got the call my tires were ready. I ordered a set of Hankook radials and the total cost was under $500 including balancing, installation and "Life of the Tire" warranty. ****fist language is Spanish, trying my best to write this correctly**** First of all the customer service was ok... my appointment was at 1:30 pm but got there early 1:15 pm, I got a new tires + the insurance. They took my car to do the service around 1:35ish pm, people were first before me so I get it. I sit down in the lobby and wait.... and I waited for 3 hours. The people that got there after me even got to leave first, so around 3:30 I got up to ask how much longer for my car... the car was ready... they never called my name or try to text me or call me. So I let it go and told the guy is understandable since they were busy... I go home with my new tires... then two days later... my tire has a bump... so I decide to go back to other store that is closer to my work (281-San Pedro Ave area) so I go into the store and explain what happen and he tries to look for my info in the system and the order is under the WRONG name, address and phone number! They never called my name in the FM 78 store because they had the wrong name! I even give the guy my ID!!! Ridiculous! Never going back to this store. Luckily the guy from the 281-San Pedro Location got to fix the info and help me out with my tire. read more

I'm not one to review tire shops, but I feel like these kinds of shops get a bad rap. People often think they are overpriced, do a poor quality job, or just treat customers like dirt. This one doesn't seem to. I came on May 16th to have my 2 year old worn out Michelins replaced. Rain had been forecasted, but it wasn't too bad. About 15 minutes into waiting for my appointment, a torrential downpour starts along with bad thunder and lightning. The way these garages are designed, there is no shelter from the elements. The downpour started and the poor serviceman came out and I thought he was going to tell me he couldn't do it without power. No, instead of saying no, he said he could still do it with hand tools and floor jacks instead. Good can-do attitude rather than turn me away. So there they worked, in the downpour, completely unfazed by the weather and got me in and out before my lunch break was over. Great service! I would recommend coming here and I will come here for my other car's tire needs! read more

I woke up this morning to low PSI pressure in my tires. I immediately know to take my vehicle to Discount Tire to get them inflated since it was the first day of low temperatures in the mornings. I arrived 15 prior to them opening and they had just put out the tire/air check bollards. A representative (Hesten) immediately waved me forward. The young man checked my PSI, and went to work on filling up my tires to the manufacturers recommended level. I was in and out in no time flat! Great job and great value (FREE)! read more

Came in initially to swap a set of tires from one set of rims to a brand new set (fresh out the box). Was told they couldn't reinstall rear tires so I was forced to buy a pair, I bought a set (4). Upon Initial install directional tires and wheels were installed wrong (Nitto NT555). Stagger set wheels, all rears were on one side, all fronts were on the other. Went back to get corrected, noticed wobble and TPMs error. Went back to get situated to find an uneven balance and road force of 40+ on each wheel, above recommended force. Was told that was the "best they could do". Went immediately after to a trusted wheel specialist to find that somehow every rim had been bent and chipped. Brand new wheels bent and tripped only after 3-4 visits back to back?? Returned to Company to make note of damages and bends, company attempted to avoid fault and claimed it was due to defected tires. Waited 2 weeks for new nt555's to come in. They come in we attempt another balance with the same excuse, "its the tires". Waited another week just to hear the same thing. Followed up with jeffery who assured me things would be fixed, trusted him and the company with taking care of me against my better judgment. Waited another 2 1/2 weeks for the wheels to be shipped and "repaired". I'm issued loaner wheels in the mean time of said "repairs". Immediately after driving off with loaner wheels I'm given an TPMs light, 2 sensors aren't calibrated. No biggie the assure that I'm "fine to drive". 2-4 hours later I'm leaving the gym and come out to flat tire (front passenger side). Discount assured me I'd be "fine" so I was now stuck for another 2-3 hours waiting on a tow. I return the next morning for them to tell me it was a faulty valve.. unfortunately now no of the sensors are working... mind you they were all working fine prior. After about 3-4 more visits I give up on being able to properly calibrate the sensors and let Jesus take the wheel. June 17th, rims finally came in from "Dallas" where jeffery assured me they'd be "good as new". You guys let me know if they're good as new post discount tire repairs, I'd say they arguably look worse.. If you value your vehicle and honest work I'd avoid this location at all costs!!! read more

Went in for a patch on my tire... Checked in and was quoted a wait of 10 to 15 minutes just for someone to tell me what I already new. While I waited I observed a completely empty bay. Then Quoted that my wait would be an additional hour and 45 minutes to put the patch on. I was not going to wait, I left and went down the street and happily paid $10 for a patch that took the shop 10 minutes total to complete. I almost always go to Discount Tire for these "quick" fixes. 7619 Farm-To-Market Rd 78, San Antonio, TX 78244 Location. Just needed one tire for my Toyota Yaris and went in on Black Friday expecting an hour or so wait. After 3 hours, when told 1.5-2 hours, I finally got my car which was professionally done and customer service good though they changed their wait time estimate on me by a hour and said that is what they told me. I recommend this location only if you make an appointment first and if getting 2+ tires, that seems to provide a quicker service. read more

I had my rims installed today that I bought from BB-Wheels online. Their service was great. I had to pay more than expected on my installation because the Tire company I got my wheels from didn't send me the right lugs so I had to buy a set there . But my new wheels look great! Wife stopped by to have a tire looked at. I had a important work meeting I couldn't get out of, so no communication that morning. Discount tire convinced her she needed new tires. Saying current tires were "unsafe", I assure you they were fine. I ran a tire shop and I was a mechanic for many years. I called them to ask them what their return policy was. I felt that my wife was swindled into spending a ton of money when it wasn't necessary they informed me that..once you drive on the tires, they will no longer allow them to be returned. They have a "30 day no questions asked" policy, but they will never give you a full refund if you're unhappy, only I store credit. I can say, I'll never allow another one of my hard earned dollars to be spent with a company that practices predatory unethical business practices. read more

I've never been talked down to or lied to so badly in my life from a company. The entire experience was quite horrible. Not sure if the man was a manager or what his title was but he was quite degrading. Tried to sell me four tires when I only needed one replaced stating oh 1200 miles on them was too much to replace just one, and one new tire would ruin my AWD drive train.... Then with a degradingly tone says "awd means....." I know how my car works, thanks. My tires were 2 months old. I said I know you have to say this because liability but you're telling me your buy an entire new set of tires (only two months old) instead of just the one popped? He said yes. Lies. As always great service. I've been a discount tire customer since my first car because my parents used them. Its a blessing when you get a flat and are told your certificates cover you or you have a flat and it's free. So 100% best value. As any mechanic or car shop you will have to wait. The only time I waited over an hour was when I had a flat in the middle of the day and didn't have an apt. They are always busy, so appointments take priority over walk ins. Folks complaining if wait times just don't understand this place is busy and fixing things takes time. I'd rather have quality service over rushed service. This place is always quality service. I normally order my tires online so they will for sure be there when I need an all new set. As always excellent customer service! I will say I went to a good year shop one year and they price was outrageous and there were no certificates aka outstanding warranty like discount tire's. read more

I had to get my tire replaced. I didn't notice it was flat until I was leaving work. Was able to put on a spare and get home. As soon as I got home, went to discount tire website and made an appointment for the following day for 10am on FM78. When I arrived, I was attended to immediately and had great help from Robert. I was walked through all my options and was given their best advice. While I was waiting for my vehicle, one of the representatives (Caleb) came by and kept me updated. This place I think is brand new. Had to come in because of a flat tire and really needed to replace my back two as well. I like that they cover their tires and work with warranties. So yes while it's a pain to shell out so much money, if something goes wrong, you come back and they'll take care of it! Great customer service and fast work! Told me it'd be an hour but they finished in only thirty minutes!! Also very friendly people and not pushy with sales which is important. They have NO kind of emergency service. Was leaving San Antonio headed to an appointment in Houston had a blowout on I-10. It took 1 hour just get my car initially looked at then another 3 hours for my car to be taken into the bay where it took 10 minutes to get a new tire put on. When the warranty is up on my tires I will find a new place to buy my tires. The local owned shops are just as good and a LOT faster. read more

I am thrilled with my new Michelin tires I purchased from here. I am equally thrilled with the amazing service I received from every person I came in contact with including over the phone. They were all nothing but helpful answering all of my questions. It was not cheap at $836 out the door for four quality tires, and they also used my best old tire to replace my crappy spare for cheap. Trust me I was happy to pay it after my prior Sam's Club tires which were not so great. Best of all my tires have a 70,000 mile warranty! If my tire is ruined due to any damage on the road they will replace it free of charge! Oh yeah and they were good on their word, had the tires done after only 30 minutes. If you need a tire patch, I strongly advise going anywhere but here! They gave me the heads up about not being able to patch tires under certain circumstances so it'd be me leaving with my spare or purchasing a new one, I agreed. About 10-15 mins later they said they were unable to patch my tire because the hole was already patched. They put my rim in my trunk, keeping my tire before I asked for it back, my tires are new. I go to a nearby mom and pop shop, turns out the hole was in a different spot and was completely repairable. I paid $10 to patch my tire there. I could only imagine how many customers they scam into purchasing something from Discount Tire or keeping customer's tires for resale. I will never return to this franchise. read more

i made a 9;30 appointment to get my tires rotated and rebalanced, i got there earlier so there would be any issues.When i got there i had to sign in and still wait to speak to some one on what service i needed done, makes no sense on why i made a appointment in the first place. After 30 minutes i finally get called and explain to the guy in the front what i need done , he tells me its going to be atleast a hour and ten minutes or longer say what's the point of making a appointment in the first place ,doesn't make much sense. He sees my tire and immediately tells me it cant be serviced and wants to give prices on new tires,i tell him that all i wanted was a rotation and balance which i paid for in advance when you buy the instalation package .I also tell him i bought my son 2 sets of tires in 3 years at discount tire company and will be taking my bossiness else where , he responds that i wont be getting the service that they provide else where,well i think this is the time that i need the service and they wont help me.he also told me that its up to me where i go for my tire needs.I will never take my bussiness to discount tire company again and will be contacting coperate about the sisuation at the fm 78 discount tire location, i didnt hear the associate name but hes is a young red headed guy. read more

The service advisor was persistent on Paying before work was even done to my vehicle, the employees are always in a rush which causes them to leave things messy when they go through your vehicle during service, They charged $20 for a "tire balance" when I was looking the entire time I didn't see my tire on a balance machine. Next I asked the service advisor to have them add air to my spare tire, and before I paid I told him again to make sure he told the mechanics, and he told me they did it before they took the car in which was a total lie, as I didn't even see them open the trunk, and after I received my vehicle from service I checked the spare and it was still flat, which is either the service advisor lied to me or the mechanics just didn't do it. I went to Discount Tire today to get my drivers side tire checked out because it has a slow leak. The person who helped me, one of the managers ( I believe he was a manager) Travis, was so kind, helpful and so nice! The customer service was superb!!! I will definitely be back here. Another manager, again, I think he was a manager, Mike, was just as helpful, kind and nice. I heard both of them talking to customers on the phone and the customer service was just awesome. The respect they showed to the gentlemen changing the tires and working in the bays was incredible. You've got to show respect to get respect and this is what I witnessed. ***DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!! THEY ARE STEALING CUSTOMERS CARD INFORMATION!!! I went up there to replace two tires. The person who helped me was kind. Being a woman we are cheated and swindled most times at car and tire shops if we have no previous knowledge about cars or tires; however I did not get that vibe from him. He truly seemed like he was being genuine and helpful. Initially I did go up there for one tire but he told me getting one tire would make the other one wear down or break easier. I called my dad and he agreed. So I then went with his recommendation for two tires. My dad is in another state and wanted to pay over the phone with his credit card. The guy told me they normally don't like to do that but he would see if he could and he let me do that. He let me enter the card manually. So to my surprise two days later when the card was being used fraudulently for Uber eats and other things I was in total shock and disbelief. I am the only one in my family living here in San Antonio Texas. Prior to my dad using the card at the tire place there have been no charges from San Antonio Texas as my dad lives out of state. I was very confused on how they could even take the car information if I punched it in manually. However this age and generation we do live in a lot of technical systems seem to be faulty. And you cannot put anything past anybody when it comes to fraud people of all colors social standings and sexes steal just the same. As I stated my father does live out of state in prior to that I had no use for my father's card. I don't even have the card number memorized. My dad called the shop the next day after seeing the charges and the manager immediately denied it. But literally all the evidence points to someone at the shop stealing his information. The charge that came from Uber eats literally was delivered 15 min away from that discount tires location. Which is why I'm not sure why he quickly shut down what my dad was saying. Not even fully investigating the claim. Which makes me feel this is not the first or last time this has happened. Discount tires does have a prestigious reputation about them which would make anyone feel like they would never engage in something like this. However as I stated the charges did not start until the card was used at this location. I still do not believe the young guy who helped me was responsible but someone else on the staff. My second theory is that the system they use for credit cards or debit has been compromised and they won't even do the work to look into the matter. Which is very alarming! No one should have to go through an ordeal like this behind tires! And what's even more disheartening is that they tried to insinuate I used the card somewhere. I would urge people if they can to find somewhere else for tires or either use cash for the transaction. Someone in that establishment is stealing customers personal information and the manager either knows about it or is in on it. They did give me quality tires but what transpired after was an unprofessional nightmare. And they acted like they didn't even care. I went to our new Discount tire store this morning with a flat tire. What a great and professional group. With the screw close to the no repair zone, they could have tried to push me in the buy a new tire. But they explained everything. It was repairable. Even spun the tire on the balancer, checked all the lugs on all four tires. Then told me I was good to go. No Charge for repairs?
