2 days ago Martinez Tire Shop on FM 78 put a compressor in then a fan in & then free on. OMG! They did a great job! I can't find the words for my gratitude! They were honest, professional & kind mechanics! They don't only do tires! I had brought my car to them with parts I bought at Auto Zone. They told me, "You don't need those!" I know too many would have kept the parts &/or do the unecessary labor & charge me for it. Today i took car back & they fixed my shocks & charged a very reasonable price for labor! They are the best! These guys really helped me out in a jam! My pickup got a flat a few miles down FM-78 from here. I just bought the truck used last month, and didn't have a spare yet, so I figured I could just pull the wheel off and roll it to a tire shop to have a new tire mounted on it. Unfortunately for me, I hadn't noticed the wheel locks on the lug and subsequently that there was no key in the pickup when I got it. I walked to the closer large chain tire store and asked if they could help me out, and their answer was a firm no. The wheel locks could not be removed. So I walked on down FM-78 until reaching this little tire shop nestled between two mechanics on FM-78 near Converse. I explained my situation and the owner assured me if I could get my truck there, they could break the wheel locks off. I had it towed, and sure enough, they had the first lock broken off in no time. The owner inspected my other tires and found they were all old and in desperate need of replacement. He gave me several options on used tires he had in stock to meet my needs and get me back on the road. No pushy sales tactics or guilt trips like at that major chain I mentioned. Just solid advice, and I went with a more than fair offer on four good quality used tires. $100 a piece. No charge for labor, mounting, or balancing, and they threw in new wheel locks. The new tires were mounted on my rims, and I was back on the road in under an hour. I will definitely be going back when it's time for a fresh set and a spare to show my appreciation! read more

I will NEVER go back here to Martinez Tire Shop! I took my own tires up there to replace the tires that I already had on my car. All I wanted was for them to take the old tires with the sensors off my car & put the new tires with the sensors on my car. They charged me $40 to do that. I went out of town & noticed that my TPMS light was on my dash. When I returned from out of town, I took my vehicle back to them & they informed me that the TPMS light was on bc they forgot to transfer the sensors from my old tires into my new tires. So, I had to go back home, pick up the old tires & take them back up to the tire shop so they could put the sensors into my new tires. They did just that & charged me another $65.00! So, basically I had to pay out of my pocket for their mistake! Total was $105.00 just to put 4 tires with sensors onto my car after they informed me that the entire job would only cost a total of $60. So they scammed me out of another $45! They will scam you out of every penny that you work hard for, so beware if you do decide to take your vehicle to them. Just a warning that you can definitely get what you need done much more honest & much cheaper elsewhere! read more
