I wanted to surprise my son with new rims on his truck for Christmas. Ordered them from Tirerack and they apparently have a partnership with Discount Tires. I've been using Firestone in Sanford for years for all three of our vehicles and they quoted me $120.00 pretax to change out the rims on his tires we bought from them. I decide to give Discount Tire a call, did not tell them what Firestone quoted me and Jeff with Discount told me abt $80 pretax and fees $99 out the door. I moved forward with Jeff and Discount. The $20-$30 savings was cool but Jeff blew my mind with his outreach telling me half my order came in and it would be a few days for the other two rims. We scheduled the appointment for my son to come in and he had his whole staff keep the secret of why he was there. Jeff calls me and tells me to dial my son's phone bc they are about to roll it out and he's going to see it and Jeff wanted me on the phone to experience my son's reaction! I mean who does this these days??? Jeff and his staff are just incredible and yes, we are going to use them for all of our vehicles going forward. Stopped by to purchase 2 tires, they checked the size and said they have them in stock I paid they installed 2 different size tires, I asked for them to replace with the size already on the vehicle and they refused saying they are not the original size (should have said that from the start) also refused to install the original tires because they were in poor shape so I ended up with 2 new different size tires that look ridiculous on my vehicle, I will not be returning here what an incredible lack of transparency and professionalism. read more

Amaris and Monte are fantastic to work with. We are large family with five vehicles among us. Anytime we need something related to tires or wheels we come here. And have done so since 2004. Today my son tire seem to have a slow leak we weren't sure. We dropped the car off 90 minutes later we received an automated text stating that the work was complete. They found two roofing nails in his tire and the nail heads had broken off so they were impossible to detect without taking the tires of the vehicle. They repaired that tire and serviced the other tires; all for no charge. What an amazing group of employees at Discount Tire in Sanford. I had another nail in my tire (I swear my tires are magnets for nails) and I went to Discount Tire since I purchased my tires there. The first person I spoke to was super friendly and immediately went out to my car and verified the nail was there. Keep in mind, they were very busy but his friendliness and sense of urgency was top notch. Then he explained the timeline which was that afternoon. I could drop off my car or I could just come back at a later time and they would get it done for me. Fortunately, my tire was not flat so I was able to come back. I loved I had options and was not required to have someone pick me up or wait for hours. When I came back, I sat in the waiting room for a few minutes and watched how each Customer was treated as they walked through the door. Every single person was treated so kindly, given great details behind their timeline, given multiple quotes on various tires as needed and just an overall sense of calm about getting tires. Buying tires is never anyone's idea of a good time but these Employees really provided excellent assistance and made the process a good one. I arrived this morning around 9:30am I suspected several nails where lodged in my tires. Got there and one of the guys quickly took my information, checked my car and offered to change out and patch the problems without any surcharge ( when I originally called, they said it would be between $8 to 9 dollars to repair holes in tires). I only waited about 30 minutes, which was really great, the service was exceptionally wonderful and the guys there were very professional. I've been buying tires for various cars for quite a few years now and I've never had such a phenomenal experience in a tire shop. Discount Tire came recommended by a friend, and I'm glad I listened to him. I was able to order my tires on their website and schedule an appointment for a time when they'd be in stock. I didn't even have to put down a deposit. When I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment, the store was busy and I was fully prepared for a lengthy wait, having brought my work laptop with me. I asked the associate how long he thought it might be and he said generally between 30-45 minutes, but I had an appointment so it would likely be sooner. I sat down to login to work and was able to quickly connect to their WiFi, which was fast and proved to be more than adequate for my needs, despite the busy waiting room. That waiting room was very comfortable, with coffee available and nice chairs. Within 10 minutes, the service technician came out, introduced himself to me, let me know that it would be about 15-20 minutes and then pulled my car in. Shortly thereafter, the the staff member that had originally checked me in, called me, met me at the curbside with my vehicle and went over all of the relevant information about the tires, including the rebate. All told, I was out of there well ahead of the estimate. The tires themselves are perfectly balanced (no shimmy that I could detect), they didn't warp my rotors by putting the lugs on wrong (has happened to me at more tire shops than I can count). My car was delivered to me clean with no evidence that anything had happened, other than shiny new tires. I am really and truly blown away by this experience. The staff was extraordinarily professional and friendly, the pricing was great, and the service was extremely quick and mindful of my time. They didn't even try the "hard sell" on the road hazard warranty (which I generally don't buy). I will not go anywhere else for tires. read more

I bought tires here in 2015 and have been back to have them rotated and balanced ever since. I am always able to get in and out quickly with an appointment. Today a tire went low and they were able to fit me in for an appointment and I was out with in less than an hour. They found a leak in the tire that others had missed and patched it at no charge. Every time my wife speaks to someone at this location she is quoted much higher than when I speak to someone. It's too much bs to deal with. Every single time it's a haggle with this shop. I paid $189.50 at this location for a tire just for my wife to be quoted $255 for the EXACT same tire to be replaced. Not including certs or any other bs they will say to justify the difference. All of a sudden when I mentioned the drastic difference in price the tire is magically $210 now. They wouldn't even match their OWN price of a tire. I wasn't asking for much just to not be gouged on the spot. This place never runs on time so don't even bother with an appointment. I'm just tired of their crap tbh. read more

After being incorrectly quoted $16 a tire over the phone to mount and balance tires that I supply. I took time off of work and make my way to this store. When I get there, one of the employees (after I stood in front of the counter for 8 or so minutes before being greeted), looks at me like I'm crazy for telling him what I'm expecting to pay to have my tires done. I assure him that I was told by an employee the day before it would $16 per tire. He says "no that's not right" and continues staring at his computer in silence. I then ask him what the price actually is... He proceeds to tell me that it will in excess of $200 to mount and balance my tires. TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS!! Just for a simple mount and balance. Not including other fees that will surely apply. The employee was rude, barely looked in my direction (and when he did, wouldn't even look me in the eye), and had no interest in helping me when I had been misinformed and scheduled my day around this event. I even expressed to him that my tire was DANGEROUSLY close to separation and I needed it done that day. He said absolutely nothing and waited for me to just leave. Not only did I learn that this store hires awful employees. But I learned discount tire as a whole is scamming customers charging them $200 to mount and balance tires. (If you're not familiar with auto service and labor rates, this is ABSURD pricing), I will not be returning to this store and I'll be sure to share my bad experience with friends and family. P.S. I then drove two miles to another tire shop who did my tires for $15 a corner. No questions asked and no hassles. I thought I would get this kind of service at a place as big and reputable as discount tire. Surely I was mistaken!! read more

This is more a review of all the locations I've dealt with not just this one. That said they've done a great job each time. Fifteen years ago I had an Acura Integra GSR and it needed new tires. They're low profile, high performance and expensive. The store on the north side of Columbus, Ohio pointed out that if I went from a 225 to a 235 on the exact same tire I'd save $60 a wheel! We did the same thing a few years later on our Jeep Grand Cherokee. This store put tires on our Odyssey when we had that. My wife's Mazda. Even a 31 foot Airstream Trailer that was a complete bitch to work on for them as it didn't fit in the garage and it was all weird sizes and the bolts had been in place for at least 10 years. Each time I've dealt with them they've been professional, honest about the price and the time, and very, very courteous. You can't really ask for much more. We have kids and mortgage and all those great things that go with family life in America. I'm cheap. I have to be as I didn't follow Dad's advice and become a stock broker, attorney or accountant. I'm a middle class schlub who price shops EVERYTHING. We have the internet so why they hell wouldn't you?! Each time I've needed tires I hop on the interwebs and look. Or I'll call to see if they're running a special. I've never had anyone beat Discount Tires prices. One last note. They do free flat repair, free pressure checks and free tire rotation. All they ask is when you need tires you use them. That's called customer service there folks! read more
