I have my car serviced at the dealership but have always gotten my tires at Discount. Yesterday the dealership told me I had a nail in one of my tires. I went to Discount to get 2 new tires. After longer than the expected time frame went by I finally went to the counter and was then told my car was actually ready. No one had called my phone, left any message or had even called my name in the waiting room. I was sitting in the waiting room and was never called. They also did not communicate to me that they had not found a nail in my tire. Now I am concerned that they did not replace the correct tire. Maybe they did, maybe they didn't. It is hard to have faith in the work that was done when they don't even follow protocol to call when your vehicle is ready. Definitely not feeling like I had very good device today and not happy that they wasted my time. read more

I had a pretty good experience here. The service was fast and efficient, the lobby was also clean and well kept. The time estimate for my tire installation (90 mins) went on a little longer than quoted (20 mins longer) however the staff was upfront and honest about it. I appreciate that they took the time to inspect my low tire. It came back as a screw on the side, which means a replacement is required. My tires were low anyways so I just wanted all four replaced. Ummm they only had two in stock, so I figured they would just have two more brought in from another location... they could but I would have to pay a fee or I could get two here and drive to the next discount and get the other two... these choices suck. I decided to pack up and go somewhere more customer friendly as in service, Express Tire was soooo that! They had all 4 tires brought down from Oceanside in like 2 hours at no cost to me they get how to treat customers, meaning don't nickel and dime us. I appreciate that they were polite but it comes down to feeling like a real customer and not just another number. read more

Not thrilled with my recent visit. My family started using this location in 1998 because they treated us right and because the manager Mike took good care of us. My last visit I called in before leaving to make sure they could accommodate my limo and also to make sure it could be done before I needed to be in Delmar for a big job. Mike told me no problem 2 hour wait. I arrived and apon asking for what I needed and getting my write up again im told 2 hours. Only my ticket writter wasn't competent enough to read my door sticker to figure out what tire my car needed. This is at about 10:30am keep in mind. Finally the manager had to step in and tell him what the door sticker ment and we finally finish writting me up for my 2 tires. I am sitting in the waiting room 12 noon passes my car still hasn't been touched from where I parked it. So I walk to the counter to express yet again that I'm loosing money here and that there have now been 3 walk ins who have been helped before me. The condescending clerk replys that my car is hard to move because of its size so ill be up soon. I told hom I will happily move it for them so I dont loose $1,000. He shrugged me of so I headed out side and a tech runs down to me and says my car will be started on in no more then 10 minutes (12:30) so I return to the waiting room.... 1:30 hits surprise my car still hasn't moved so by now I'm very frustrated I start to raise a bit of a fuse and again now by both my service writter and the other clerk im treated like a jerk because they are still not working on my car so I say if your to incompetent to move it give me the keys and I'll do it. They writter gives me lip and says it will be out in 10 minutes. Now 2:15 I start calling other tire companies telling them what has been going on and explaining that I have now lost a $1,000 job and they still haven't touched it. Finally I find a shop that feels bad and says they'll lift it as soon as I park it so I tell them I am going to ask for a refund knowing darn well the clerk can her me... Magically he disappears as I get off the phone and my car comes around the building quickly and 2 techs push floot jacks under it. Moral of the story don't go here unless you have a whole day to kill and I will most likey be breaking this long business relationships since their current staff is rude and incompetent read more

I can't help but feel a bit paranoid when entering any establishment dealing with car maintenance or repairs. I have close to zero knowledge about the matter. But this discount tire location doesn't make me feel that way. Today my left rear tire blew and since my Subaru Forrester is all wheel drive, I have to replace all 4 tires. I bought 4 new tires from here plus the replacement certificates. After I have driven this car for about 3 years, there threads were exposed. I brought it back and was given quote around $800.00 out the door for 4 tires. He was very friendly at first, but after I told him that I had bought the replacement certificates, he verified my record and became not happy as he was before. I still have to pay about $160 for the tires but that was not as bad as paying $800. After all, this place is great. read more

Not a fan of this location. Once I came in without in appointment, they said I would be out in 1.5 hours. At the hour mark my car still had not left the parking lot. I was out of there at 2 hours. I thought, "ok, I didn't make an appointment." But then I had to return because the car was driving worse than ever with new tires. This time I made an appointment. They said I would be out in less than an hour since I made an appointment this time. Well no. At over 30 min my car was still in the lot making me think, how great attention do they really put in your car once they finally check it out? I would recommend a different location. I have never had an issue in Rancho San Diego so I plan to go back to them. Santee location does not value your time. read more

The Santee store is the BEST DISCOUNT TIRE Store in San Diego County! Met Mike Bell today, the manager here, through my best friend and was glad I did because NOT all Discount Tire stores charge the same prices for tires. Been a customer of Discount over 20 years and been to different stores, but no manager in the other stores offered a "discount" as Mike did today. Maybe it's because my history shows I have bought many very expensive brand name tires over the years of being a loyal Discount Tire customer that the other stores upsold me? NOT Mike, he offered me the best priced tires Discount Tire offers. He let me decide if I wanted name brand and $$$ to spend by giving options! The other stores have forgotten this concept and go straight for my jugular when they see me coming. I will drive to Santee even though we live right down the street from another Discount Tire Store. When you have 4 vehicles needed tires nearly the same time every few years, it is nice to know your Discount Tire store is looking out for you and NOT their bottom line! read more

I had a tire pressure light pop up so I pulled over and took a gander. Sure enough I had air leaking from the stem in my tire. Raced over to Discount and found that it was super busy which is expected on a Saturday. However a gentleman named Zach said it was an easy fix and he'd get it done right quick. Sure enough, he took my keys and after a few quick minutes he had me on my way. No money paid, just a handshake. I attempted to stay behind to let management know they had a good egg in Zach but they were pretty busy. Great Pricing. Great Location. Great Staff. I have been coming to this location for several years now and the service and staff is always steady. Of course with this great service comes hoards of lines of other people who are well aware of this and their great deals so you can always expect a bit of a wait. On a 'slow day' you are looking at an hour to an hour and forty-five minutes, but they are typically done before the estimated time is up. Located nearly central in Santee you are able to drop your vehicle off and walk to any of the many restaurants or stores in the area. Seated in the Best Buy shopping center you are a simple walk away from the Trolley Square Town Center with major shopping stores and dotted with boutique restaurants. The deals found here are pretty terrific for most of us. With the Tire Protection Plan they offer you can get a screw, flat, or what have you and roll in for a free repair. If it's non-repairable and they have to replace the entire tire - you simply pay only the fee for the new protections plan (around $15-$20) and you have another 3years and 3/32depth to go. Always kickin' the AC in the area of the Arctic, you don't even need to walk anywhere while you're waiting and can enjoy one of the many chairs available. read more

Worst service ever. Went at open to get tire rotation. first I had to wait 25 minutes in line to be served and when I was finally served I was told that it would take 2 hours. Not wanting to wait I got an appointment for later in the day at 145pm. I was advised in the morning that with an appointment the service would take 45 minutes. Took vehicle back at 145pm and 45 minutes later MY VEHICLE HAD NOT EVEN BEEN TOUCHED. How ridiculous! It's called an appointment for a reason. The manager on site is filled with nothing but excuses and no one is willing to address the issue at hand. Terrible service. read more

ONE of my tires had a slow leak. Took it in, they checked and sure enough it had a screw in it. These are the orginal tires from when I bought the truck. THey fixed it, replaced the valve stem, and even though they told me an hour since I did not have an appointment, they were done in 30 minutes. No charge. I only buy tires here. I bought Michelin tires from Discount Tire 3 years ago and last week had a flat which I got fixed immediately at a garage. The repair held air for a couple days then was flat again. I refill it and it stays inflated, but I'm concerned it might leak again. (None of this is Discount's fault, just setting things up). Checking my Discount paperwork, I noticed I have free hazard repair, so I made an appointment for today so they could inspect it. I tell the service rep the story and he doesn't know why it might have gone flat that one day after it was repaired. Not even a "well, it might be because..." After they pull the tire off--and without doing any sort of air pressure or submersion check--the rep tells me, "That tire's no good". That was LIE #1. "What do you mean, 'no good'? It's held air for 6 days now," I say. "It's a problem with the sidewall," he says. That was LIE #2. Now comes the upsell. He says he has that tire in stock but can only give me $30 credit because it's worn to 3/32 of an inch. That was LIE #3, as it has more than 3/32 (possible LIE #4, since the price he quoted didn't even include the $30 credit). I ask him to show me this alleged sidewall damage, knowing there is none, since I changed the flat without driving on it. Then suddenly the problem changes from sidewall damage to an improper repair. He tried to give me some bogus techno jargon, claiming the previous garage damaged the steel belt by drilling through the tire to insert the plug. Umm, exactly how do YOU fix a flat? Because I've had flats fixed more than a dozen times and they all did it the same way. Now that I've caught him in several lies, I tell him, "Well, it's held air this long. Just put it back on." "We can't. It's unsafe. We can't put it back on," he says. OK, now you're just being a jerk because I didn't want to buy a new tire I didn't need. We talk to the manager who says the best they can do is put the spare on. They won't even refill the repaired tire with air!!! So let me get this straight--I come in with a fully inflated tire, you don't do a thorough inspection, LIE several times, try to upsell me, and I'm leaving with a space saver spare in place of that tire which now has no air in it. I'm worse off than when I arrived!!! Was it worth being jerks? I can guarantee in a couple years when I'm ready to drop another $700 on tires it definitely won't be at Discount Tire of Santee! I know they probably don't care, because they're always busy. But if you go there, watch out for 2 things: ..........UPSELL and --------LIES Why 2 stars instead of just 1? They do have a nice, big waiting area. read more

I'll get straight to the point. I knew a flat tire was on its way to ruining my day so I came by. I drove up @0801 and the line was already 5 deep. I almost kept driving. I'm so glad i forced myself to park, and walk in. A nice guy was walking in as the same time as me and opened the door for me and gave me his space in line. I was greeted by Christopher and I said morning Chris! And 4 other gentlemen replied. LOL. the majority of these gents are named Chris! (Cracks me up) We got started instantly and he checked my tires out as I explained my expert opinions (ya not really) and we laughed and joked as we looked around at the tires. We went back inside and he quickly stroked a few keys on his board and we were on the way to new tires. I was thrilled. They took my car back quickly and started on it very soon. Extremely happy about that. The customer service is outstanding and I would return here in a heart beat. I haven't gone anywhere else, and I don't intend to. Absolutely the best experience Ive had since owning my piece of poop car. I got a flat tire, called AAA to come put my spare tire on and what do you know, its a spare tire that doesn't fit my car! AAA followed me to discount tire to make sure I made it there ok (I was 1 mile away). Anyways, I had the pleasure to work with Fausto (SP?) and he was amazing. I told him about my spare and he went to go check it out and it turned out that the tire was from 1999, I have a 2013. I was shocked! They are ok. Sometimes they will give you good deals. My biggest complaint is THEY DON'T DO ALIGNMENTS! Considering you should get an alignment every time you get new tires, this is kind of irritating. We go to a different place now where we can get tires and an alignment at the same time. read more

After leaving the vehicle there we very quickly got notification the car was ready for pick up. Stopped by yesterday around 930am to have 4 new tires installed onto my vehicle, the guy at the desk, who checked me in, was great, he didn't have my requested tires I ordered so he bumped me up to the next best tire for the same price which was cool!
