Discount Tire...where do i start? Good customer service up front. Pricing was relatively good. The only thing that makes this store suck in particular is that the techs lolly gag in the back and dont move with a purpose. There is no way replacing two tires and and balancing them should take 3+ hours on a walk in. I get it, you have appointments that come first but you only schedule appointments per hour. You have 4 bays and one bay should be designated for appointments, how do i know that? Because i worked for discount tire at one point. Pick up the pace in the back and this store will exceed alot of standards and make customers happy. I needed two new tires for the whip and I heard good things about this location. I walked in and Chris helped me. He was very personable and awesome. He didn't try to push me to buy more than I needed nor to buy the most expensive tire. I told him what I needed and wanted and he took that and made it happen. They didn't have the tires on hand but got them the same day and Chris scheduled an appointment for me later in the day. I arrived later and once my car was in it took them all of 15-20 minutes to do their thing and I was on my way. I have been going to DIscount Tire for about 15 years. Usually to the one in La Mesa prior to moving to Santee. Always had decent customer service. Never a bad experience. It changed from decent/good to effin amazing over the past few days since going to Santee. I had the best customer service experiences so far with my wheels and new tires. They not only gave me an amazing price they had me out of there faster than I expected by putting multiple people on my truck since I had a bit of a time crunch. I also had a slight issue with the balancing that was done and came back the next day. They took my truck in instantly and had me back on the road in under an hour. read more

So now, instead of just being able to order tires at this location, after waiting 20 minutes to speak to someone, we need to drive 30 minutes away to order the same tires but with better pricing from the same company. As of today, I have now had 2 great experiences with two separate Discount Tire locations (the other being Miramar). Ryan and the DT team are awesome and the made the whole experience of tire buying a breeze. Despite being consistently busy throughout the time I was there (mid afternoon), they were efficient and I was in and out of there within just over an hour. For those of you who don't want to wait in the nice AC waiting area, there is a best buy, taco shop and ice cream(?) place within this shopping area. Otherwise, I noticed this whole Santee trolley station shopping plaza is quite pedestrian friendly, so it's great if you drop off the car and then run errands, eat, hang out, whatever. For top notch service and super competitive pricing on quality tires that don't cost an arm and a leg, this place is as good as it gets for me. read more

i like discount tire, they are a family owned business and always have great customer service. I got my tires there a year or so ago and i am always welcome to come back and have my air checked and refilled, no appt necessary and to fix my tires that go flat. I had a flat tioday due to a nail, i took my tire in and they repaired the tire in 90 minutes and did not charge me. I will def be going back to discount tire when i need new tires and for rotation. read more

I've never felt like I'm being up sold over and over and they easily access my info each time to see if my tires are covered under a certificate. I had a screw in my tire and went in to get it repaired. I didn't have an appointment so I expected and wasn't upset about the hour + wait. I guess I wrongly assumed that they would at the same time rotate my tires as my account they pulled up said I was due for that. When I asked the employee if that was done his response was, "no, you didn't ask for that to be done. You can get back in line if you want that done." This store is definitely lacking the customer service that the other locations have. read more

I walked into discount tire already expecting that I was going to have to buy a new tire. I had recently gone to the dealership because my tire sensor light had turned on a couple days prior. The dealership let me know there was a nail in my tire and that die to the location is was unrepairable. The only option was to buy a new tire. My tires were already practically new so I was bummed to say the least. Paul took a look at my tire and informed me that they would take a look at it and if it could be repaired they would do it FOR FREE! Paul said no promises but he would do his best. I waited in the air conditioned showroom and an hour later they let me know they fixed it! No charge. It was able to be larger and I should have no issues as the tires were practically new. All the guys there were great and so polite. Saved me $100. Thank you! read more

Worst customer service ever. I could not believe how irresponsible these guys were. All I was asking for was for them to fulfill their end of the deal on the tires I had already insured. This was on my daughter's vehicle, and I paid extra so she would be taken care of if ever she ran into a problem. These guys gave her the run around and did not contact her when promised, nor did they get the job done until I went down after working all day and basically had to demand they replace her damaged tire. She was first told that it would be ready by the next morning, or noon at the very latest and to wait for their call. After hearing nothing in the morning, she assumed she'd be waiting until noon as promised...but apparently that was asking too much and SHE had to call THEM when she still hadn't heard by after 1:00pm. She was then told the replacement tire had arrived and they would call her to replace it no later than 4pm. When asked why they hadn't contacted her, they claimed it still had to be "checked in." So now we're two days in, 4 hours later than the "latest" they'd promised...and still no word from them. Finally, I got home after working all day and had to hop into her car and head over there since it was now 5:30- an hour and a half later than their new latest time, still NO phone call- place closes at 6pm- daughter was going to miss work and be car less three days in a row at this point...so I walk in and see two guys available, of which neither greets me, and I choose the 40 year old over the younger kid assuming he has the maturity to understand my frustration with my situation. Homeboy (Stephen) not only does not apologize, but acts like an arrogant punk and treats me as if I'm overreacting and "rushing" the situation along. Bear in mind guys, this is the tire that was dropped off around 11:30 the day before, and we are now approaching SIX HOURS past their promised "latest time," and this guy is aware we've not been called, not given any update, daughter was now without a vehicle and missed work for TWO days, and this guy cannot bring himself to apologize for the incredibly poor customer service or the inconvenience. After hearing the whole situation, still no apology, and then instead of her car being prioritized, tells me I'll have to "wait at least an hour." Ladies and Gentlemen, I have never experienced such poor customer service. The fact that I had to step in on behalf of my daughter really sucks when she should be treated with the utmost respect and given the proper service I had already paid for in advance. Literally turned down a better deal at Evans Tires and told her I was paying extra so she could have the best customer service I had always experienced at other Discount Tire locations in the past. Horrible- I wish I could get my money back and take her to a place that knows how to treat their customers appropriately. Keep in mind, that although this would've been frustrating no matter what, that the two main issues was a complete lack of communication and follow thru on their word, and the blatant disrespect Stephen chose to show when a customer showed up expressing the issues their store was causing. Had my car in for a simple tire rotation. Low and behold they cross thread the lug nuts when putting the tires back on. Wouldn't you know it, they can't fix it, have to take it elsewhere "but trust us, it's safe to drive". The place they referred couldn't do it that day, had to come back and then they did a real ghetto job on it, nothing but quality through and through. I went to Discount Tire to buy new tires for my 10 year old Tahoe. Eduardo helped me. I didn't know that one of my 10 year old tires couldn't be saved as a spare and he showed me the chart explaining why. He also showed me that the original spare tire I had did not fit my car. We drove around for 10 years with a worthless spare tire and didn't even know it. Eduardo checked on me several times while waiting and kept tabs on when my car would be ready. When my car was done, it was parked at the end of the parking lot and it was raining, so Eduardo offered to bring it to me. He went over and above what I expected in the way of service. He is a credit to Discount tire. I will ask for him when I need to rotate my tires. read more

I've been driving for over 30 years and have dealt with many tire companies by none can compare to Discount when it comes to service. My tire was flat and they looked it up and had me fixed in no time at all to the tune of $0.00 due to the road hazard. I didn't need to show them any kind of paperwork and they even bolted my spare back which in my vehicle is not an easy task.. Wife's car had a slow leak, left front. The tires are from COSTCO, but they are not open at 9:00AM. Went to Discount about two blocks away. Tires have nearly 48k miles and are 6 years old. Tread is just about 1/16". I know they should be replaced but - - Ian took my request for a free flat repair, got all the specifics, showed me the potential problems with near slick tires, no high pressure sales pitch, and wrote up the work order. Less than 20 minutes later service tech Richard came into the waiting area, informed me that he had repaired a leak caused by a screw puncture, checked and filled all tires to recommend pressures. As a family we have bought probably five sets of tires at this location. If or when I decide to replace the tires on this car, I will definitely buy them at Discount Tires in Santee. read more

The man that helped me at this store was honest and I appreciate that. As someone who knows nothing about cars, I have to take the word of mechanics. I was told by an employee at another Discount Tire that I needed to replace all 4 of my tires, but the guy that helped me in Santee (I think his name is Darley...that's the only name I can find on my invoice) told me that my rear tires were fine and showed me why on a chart they had in the store. He saved me (a very poor preschool teacher) $150 and I really appreciate that! They have my business! read more

I had a tire that wouldn't hold air, so I stepped in this location. Two employees helped me, Eddie and Albert. Eddie greeted me promptly and told me they would check out my tire. Within minutes they had ascertained that my tire had a nail in the sidewall and needed replacement. Albert was there to help me, and told me he would show me the damage to the tire, then helped me find a price of the exact size i'd need to replace my damaged tire. He was able to pull it right up, and quote me a price for two different tires, of which I chose the more expensive option for it's sidewall protection. Definitely a fair price, so I agreed, and Albert went out and personally put the tire on for me, and had it ready within minutes, and gave me curbside service, pulling my car right up for me to pick up. Ordered two tires online to be installed , made an appointment. Got my car out and realized they had put on 4 tires and additionally had bent one of my hubcaps. I know it was them that bend it because the tires have never been off the car. sales rep out right lied and said he brought the other two tires out to show myself and my father that they were bad and that we agreed to have two more new tires put on NO WAY did anyone approach us with two tires I think I would've noticed that !!! the excuse is that the sales rep insisted he remembered us and showed us the two tires and we agreed to have them replaced Just be very careful when checking out that you got what you asked for here!!! read more

Took my care in few months ago to get all 4 tires. Drive it for 15 miles then my "low tire pressure light" came on and I took it in to find out why. They told me it was because I added air and it set it off. Later I set all tires to the same air pressure and again the light came on. After testing multiple times and having the same results, it was clear THEY BROKE my air pressure sensor. Now I'm stuck with the light on all the time. Neat. Never again will I support this company, they could have done more to determine why this was happening. read more
