I think i got some used tires. The markers are all gone and the new "tire nipples" are non existent. -$700

I recently bought a used Lexus GS350. the first place I went to Discount Tire as everyone should do. However... I do not recommend going to the El Cajon one. So I decide to only get 4 tires. I was having issues with the Tire Pressure monitoring system. It is a 12 year old car. Well they convinced me to buy new Tire Pressure Monitor System sensors for all 4 tires. Then also convinced me to go ahead and replace the full-size spare. So now I just went from $380 to $880 dollars. Which is fine because Discount Tire is the best! I get done and the Tire Pressure Monitor System is still throwing a code on my dash. They spend about 15 minutes on it. I call a friend of mine to help figure it out. I go into detail on how to reset the system. Its a process that should take about 25-40 minutes. They spent about 5 minutes and gave up. why would you sell me $450 worth of product if you cannot install it properly!?!?!?! REMEMBER I'm talking about the El Cajon store... This will come around full-Circle. I went to Lexus and I was about to pay them another $300 so they could reset it. So I went back and they checked the tires and the sensors AGAIN...and they again gave up and told me it was my car. I contended that they are not trying to reset the system. I went to them 4 times in 3 days! I was sooooo Frustrated! They sold me all this stuff and they don't even know how to reset it! They made excuses about "new" technology and my computer... I just spent just shy of $1000 on stuff you told me you could fix and you didn't!!! I eventually stopped at the Santee Discount Tire, Co. they had it all figured out in 15 minutes and didn't charge me anything. It turns out they needed to match my tires to the regular road tire setting, not the snow tire setting. When I got to Santee location, they were so apologetic and guaranteed me that they would either fix the problem or pay for Lexus to do the fix. Xavier and one other Gentleman were awesome about taking care of this issue! Santee Figured it all out after some short research online. I was in an out of the Santee location in about 15 minutes! Skip the El Cajon location, go to the Santee Location! The reason I didn't initially go to this location was because they were always super-busy. But even being so busy, they still had my problem fixed within 20minutes and didn't charge me anything! This location should be a flagship store! They are amazing to work with! read more

I got to work and found out I had a flat. I had AAA put my spare on, and they told me to take it to Discount Tire, they would repair it for free. I took my tire to Discount Tire in Santee. I did just that! Well.......the kind person on check in told me I can drop my tire off and pick it up the following day and have it mounted. I thought wow, that is awesome, Carl came to me and told me, just call ahead before arriving and it won't take long to take care of it.....and he would do it himself if needed.... I've purchased many tires in over 45 years of driving. These guys really have their act together. I came to the Santee store to replace some tires I had just purchased somewhere else which were not to my liking. No problem with the other store which was willing to refund or replace, they just did not have a replacement in the 19 inch size I required. Anyway, at Discount Tire, after patiently listening to what I liked in a tire ( I am very particular) the sales guy recommended a Continental tire for my 2018 Mazda CX-5 which I purchased. They bagged the tires I was replacing so I could take them back to get my refund. The Continental tires they recommended are great! I am well pleased. BTW, the service was quite impressive in all aspects, especially given the coronavirus restriction we are all experiencing now. read more

This had been my DT for many years now, until now. Went for tire repair and waiting in line to check in and when someone finally came out he decided to check in a lady who was there after I was. Mentioned I had an appt and he said she did too and then called me dude. So didn't matter I was there first. And thought I was one of his buddies. I asked for his manager which I found out later he never even tried to contact while I was there. I left to go to another DT and of course Mike the manager called me and I called him back. Said the only reason he knew there was an issue was a third employee overheard my unhappiness and told him. Not the origin employee. The called me after I paid $787 to get new tires on my car, to say that my lug nuts we swollen and needed to be replaced. The guy said he would have to "smash" his socket over the lug nut and I would not be able to take them off myself. I asked him how much extra he was going to charge me, he did not answer, but just asked if he had my permission to put new lug nuts on. I asked again how much extra, he finally said, um let me see... new lug nuts would be $55. I said you guys have worked on my tires before and never had a problem. He said well your lug nuts are swollen do you the heat. I told him no, if you screw something up, you'll have to fix it. I do not recommend Discount Tire for anyone, especially females. As I sit here waiting for my car, there have been three women that they have been rude to or tried to scam and charge extra. read more

Santee store repaired my tire but did not correctly return the SUV's jack and flat tire tools to their proper location. They did not put the cover to the emergency tire on correctly. I have been going to DT for 25+ years and never had such poor attention to detail from DT. The drive home was interesting, clanging dinging and flapping around all the way home. While there was no charge for removing the massive bolt from my tire, I did have to wait the full 2+ hours - while elevating my escalating pain wracked, recent knee replacement. Tried to shop for tires here but after not getting a straight answer after asking the same question 4 different ways, I give up. Their website misleads you with inaccurate product availability to get you into the store where you're herded through a process like a concentration camp. They just won't give you any information other than. "It's not in stock at the store". The website says 3 of one model/size and 8 of another on-hand. They refuse to tell you when/if they can get them in the store without more information about me. When did "when and how much" become difficult and too much to ask? I have always come to discount tire because their service is always great. This time I wasn't shopping or anything I actually was looking for a cap for my wheel. Mike treated me like I was a buyer and ran around trying to help me out he was able to find me one and then caught me outside and gave me a number to a place where I'm headed now to pick up another one. That is outstanding service. I was worried they weren't gonna help me because it was just a cap and I wasn't buying anything. Liz loves the N word and talking bad about customers while they are right there! Very unprofessional l!! She has a bad negative attitude and complained about every customer I I saw her interact with. The employees forget that there are single pane windows and the customers inside can still hear them. They were making fun of a customer with colored hair in front of other customers. Vin Diesel..... bwahahahhaha At first I was skeptical, I thought I could squeeze a few more miles out of em, but after seeing my old tires compared to my new installed ones, and considering all the mountain driving I'm doing, I am so glad I just bit the bullet AND replaced them.... my old tires were beat.... who was I kidding The key with this place.... check your bill over Make sure you aren't getting warranties you don't really need.... If your old tires have "some life" to them, take them home for a spare and save a disposal fee. Anyways... the tires I wanted were not in stock.... and they had to order them... So I went ahead and purchased them ahead of time, and they would call me when they came in. This delay in tire installation has given me PLENTY of time to GO OVER my receipt.... I did notice a warranty on there I did not want or need. But my fault for not saying anything. But I did when I came back to get the tires installed, I just brought it to their attention and they refunded my money. No issues there. Derrik and Eduardo were so nice and helpful, totally understanding to my budget but wanting to keep my light SUV rollin safely.... I am always up for honesty and a family like atmosphere and this place left me with that. Went to the santee discount tire to have a screw in my tread looked at because I've always had amazing experiences there before. I walked in and proceeded to stand there and wait to be assisted. There were 3 employees working and not one of them acknowledged me waiting. Everyone who was working there before used to welcome you in and let you know someone would be right with you. Once they did acknowledge I was waiting his statement was "is anyone waiting to pick up or check in?" I said check in, and then he told me scan the QR code, you have 5 people in front of you." The customer service was very disappointing as it had always been top notch in the past for many years so I walked out. Discount Tire really IS the only place anyone should ever go for tires! Usually we get our tires here but extenuating circumstances led us to get our latest set from our car dealership. We happened to pick up a nail in our right from tire, but we had a 2 year road hazard warranty. No problem, right? WRONG! They said it couldn't be repaired, only replaced. And they said, since we were over a year, we were considered "in our second year" and we'd have to pay half. OVER $85!! Had a flat tire that needed fixing so walked into Discount Tire today. Pretty busy but they get my checked in. 5 minutes later, a young gentleman comes out and we inspect the tire. Finds the hole right away and assured me it'll be easily fixable. He grabs the keys and tell me it'll be about an hour. An hour later, they notify me it's ready and done. I expect to pay for their time and they say it's free, just think of us next time you have any tire needs. You bet I will. Really appreciate the good service and willingness to not charge me on the hope I'll use them later down the road. Owning my own business, it's exactly how I model my customer service. Called on Monday and they gave me an 1.5 hour wait time so they made me an appointment for Wednesday morning. I showed up 15 mins early on accident but they were so nice and didn't mind! I had low tire pressure so I figured I had a hole that needed to patch up. They did it in 30 minutes after quoting me an hour, so awesome! Turns out I ran over a screw, they patched it up for free and were so accommodating. The guys that were working were so nice and friendly it really made my day. I'll be back soon for a rotation. Discount Tires in Santee has always been efficient and professional every time I have been there. This place is always busy and still they can get a set of tires installed for competitive prices in under and hour. Customer service always seems to be a priority and it seems the staff takes pride in what they do. I have all of my vehicles serviced there from rotations, air checks, rebalancing and purchases of new tires. I have never experienced the problems some of the reviewers have listed. I always make an early appointment online and schedule enough time so I'm not rushing to my next appointment. So kudos to the staff at Discount Tire in Santee for a job well done. read more

I did however call him, not sure why I waited! He was sooo incredibly kind! Was empathetic to my situation. He made everything RIGHT!! Sadly I no longer own a car but he and his son has been more than kind and helpful to my son! My son has his first car and needed tires. They took great care of him. Deeply regret my purchase ! After inquiring into the purchase of four tires on Sep 4, it was my understanding D.T. price would include 5,000 mile rotations and balancing and an initial alignment. Had the tires purchased and mounted Sep 6, $850. It seemed fast so I asked about 'the alignment'. I was told by the technician (not the sales agent I bought them from) "oh we don't do alignments" but he could give me a referral to another company, I wasnt interested. Now I have found a competitor that will do the rotations, balance and alignments. This is costing me an additional $180. Only wish I had bought my tires from them (Firestone). read more

Been a while but I was prompted to leave a review... Mike is terrible. Rude. Condescending. Awful customer service. I've been buying tires from discount tires or Americas tire for over 25 years. This visit was the ONLY visit out of dozens that made me reconsider patronizing these guys. Used probably 5 or 7 different locations, the santee store included, over the years. Lots of cars, trucks, minivans, trailers. A LOT of tires. Plenty of bad situations that they were ALWAYS super helpful and caring. Plenty of routine tire rotations too. Point is....that white haired guy mike should be in the back. Away from people. Maybe he thinks his job is secure. Maybe he doesnt care. I spoke with management and wasn't satisfied. I will never use this location again. Not worth the hassle. I moved back to santee and will inconvenience myself to go elsewhere read more

They reaffirmed my faith in Discount Tire, putting me in the system upon the call from the other location, as promised, and processed me quickly and efficiently once I was there. Eduardo, the M.O.D. Chris, and the young blonde dude with the yellow Terminator safety goggles, Blake, I believe it was, were all wonderful to deal with, had great attitudes, smiles on their faces, and got me in and out quickly. Wife's car had a blowout so I decided to replace all her tires. Went on Discount tire website, picked out tires, set a 1:45 appointment for install, towed the car to Discount and met up with Mike. He wrote the order up super fast and had the tires on one hour before the scheduled appointment! Now that is what I call exceeding customer expectations!! These guys are on it, sorry Costco, Discount tire just earned a customer for life. Plus they have a complimentary, designated lane to pull in and check your tire pressure and adjust.
