Took my van in for new tires at the 16 and van dyke location on June 19th and they call me back saying there was issues with my van. They tell me that one of the stems on the rotor was broken and asked me who serviced my van? I told them not once has it been serviced by anyone other then oil changes and fixing trivial thing like blinkers. They then said it would have to be done submitting a claim. So I waited for just under a week for them to get back with me. And discount tire said they called you on a different number. I asked them when they called me to tell me they had issues with my van, they had no problem contacting me. They are nothing but liars. For a 240.00 fix they choose to lose a customer of about 30 years. Good riddance. Belle tire, Walmart or even a used tire shop in Detroit would be better then discount tire. This site won't allow me to post a review without giving at least one star. They are worse than one star! read more

Stopped in after they closed but there were still a lot of people there. I asked if they could put air in one of my tires as it was very low.... I tried to do it myself elsewhere but it just let air out. The young man said they were closed but he asked one of the technician to help me. I recently had a frustrating experience at Discount Tire that ensured I'll never return. I brought in my vehicle for a single slow tire leak. Instead of fixing it, they tried to upsell me two new tires, claiming my tires weren't rotated and it was a safety issue. My tires are only 9 months old and were rotated 3 months ago where I purchased them--Discount Tire had no way of knowing otherwise. When they refused to patch the tire, I took my business back to where I bought the tires. They fixed it quickly for free. Once you lose your credibility and and my trust, you lose my business. These guys were fantastic here. I waited in the line for only a couple mins for a free air pressure check, they corrected my tire pressure that Belle tire did incorrectly the day before, checked my warning light and told me the problem. Ordered the sensor and will call me when it's in. In and out in about 15 mins. At Belle Tire... I waited 8 hours the first day, then left my car all day the second day, picked it up, and dropped it off again the next day right at opening at 8 am and waited 2 hours to be told my tires were fine. They never checked the warning light. Excellent customer service, professionalism, and friendliness. I will be coming here only from now on. read more

Came in 8:15, got booked at 8::27am, for a tire leak as a walk -in customer. Said. It would be between 45 mins to 1 1/2. It's 11:15, my car has not left where i parked it earlier, in short it was not serviced. I have to pull it out. Problem here is, don't encourage a walk in customer to be serviced, discourage him and tell him you will definitely be waiting for more than 3 hours or even a whole day before your car be fixed if you're a walk in customer! And strongly suggest an appointment!! When u tell me between 45- 1 1/2 hour wait, i can take that, but to be waiting for 3 hours and car still not serviced, ain't that too much???. And.... When I called yesterday I asked for an appointment, and whoever answered the phone, just told me, you can just walk in, we'll fix it for you. read more

Had treadwear warranty issues with a set of tires I purchased from this DT store at 16 mile and Vandyke in Sterling Heights. The rear tires on my van were getting worn to a point that it would fishtail on turns in the rain. Even though the tech measured the tread level to be above what is covered under the 60K tread warranty, I had the manager, Ryan, see what he could do for me as they only had 30K miles on them. He was able to offer me 2 new tires at significant savings, even throwing in a 5% rebate from using my Discount Tire CC. This is my 3rd time dealing with him at this store and he has been great everytime. Excellent customer service, super nice, value-driven (not upselling at all), and is the opposite of what most tire men are normally. If you need a good tire man, Ryan is the guy at Discount. We've purchased tires and had service/rotations/tire sensors replaced at this location for many years. They are consistently polite and willing to spend time looking at different tire options. Recently purchased set of (4) tires for one vehicle and (2) for a different one. Each time we had appointment and there was slight wait. While waiting I saw number of walk-ins each time and they accommodated as many as they could (low pressure, nail in tire, etc). We highly recommend this location! read more

Although staff are friendly it's more than frustrating to offer free tire rotation with the purchase of a set of tires because it's hardly free. I faithfully come in to get tires rotated pretty regularly after purchasing a set of 4 tires the year prior. Everytime I come there is a rather long wait (what is the point of having an appt?) and they always try to get you to get or buy something else. You rarely can walk in here for just the one service you request. Last rotation they got me for a set of wipers, this rotation they say I need lug nuts replaced. Hmmm why did you not mention that at last rotation that lug nuts were an issue? After all you're the only people messing with the lug nuts. I declined and he made a face and went a tad harder saying it's risky as they can break off. okay then we worry about it then. They need 25 plus dollars at each rotation then it's not actually free! it's simply another money hungry business that constantly milks customers for what they can get out of them in attempts to sell higher priced unnecessary products. Seriously why does a tire place sell window wipers? it Would be great just to walk in somewhere get exactly what you want and or ask for! read more

I made an appointment online to have my tires balanced and rotated for 4:30 pm. I showed up at 4, they didn't take my car until 4:37, but had it back to me by 5 pm. I went here, instead of my dealership, Lincoln of Troy, because although I got my new tires at LOT, they did not offer free tire balance and rotation, but wanted to charge me $20 a tire to balance, and $20 to rotate. Wait, my tires are already off, why are you charging me extra to rotate?! So my old car, I bought all my tires from Discount, so I called them for pricing. $10 a tire and rotation is included. Sold! And they are way closer to me. After my service was complete, they handed me my car keys and said I was all set. I asked where do I pay? they said it's covered. but why, I ask? You bought your last 2 sets of tires from us, and this service is included when you buy from us. We hope that when you need tires again, you will consider DT. I most certainly will! This location was very good with service at one time. Two times now I waited in line with 5 other people for over 15 min. People went in and out from behind the service write up area the whole time with no acknowledgment of any of us. This treatment went on for at least 30 min. This store uses applications like Roadie UPS to pick up tires to deliver it to their other stores or their customers, and will let the site driver sit there for extensive amount of time just to pick up the tires in case you're a customer that never got your tires. Got new tires a couple weeks ago. A few days later, my tire pressure light is coming on. Today my tire is mostly flat, nearly down to the rim. I call Discount and some guy is saying "there are no appointments blah blah" and I said well I can't really wait days for an issue with new tires. So he said they could do it if I "hurry." I get to the store, the guy is talking on the phone to someone saying "Yeah we have appointments today, come on in right now! You don't need to go to our other location at 11 mile, we can take you here!" Then the guy starts helping me making it sound like I'm inconveniencing them by taking up their appointment schedule and says to go home and he'll call me when it's ready. I never got a call or text. The store was about to close, so I called and asked about the status and they were rude saying it has been ready and "you better hurry!" I get there and everyone is ignoring me standing there. The tire wasn't sealed right in the first place. This has proven to be a negative experience. read more

I brought my car in this morning (Saturday) and would not recommend the discount tire on 16/van dyke. I spoke with Andrew (AM) and was told that I needed to pick my car up before they closed at 1 or my car is theirs for the weekend. I completely understood and planned to be there well before 1pm, even though online and the door says they close at 5. Andrew was very adamant that I stay and wait for my car but my ride was waiting in the parking lot and I live very close by so it's not like it would take me long to get back. I told him that my ride was waiting and he was clearly irritated. At 11:11am, I got a call from Andrew asking where I am and saying if I don't get there in 20 mins, they're keeping my car for the weekend. He was very annoyed that I wasn't there waiting in the lobby and was almost threatening to keep my car. I got there within 15 mins. Then, when I got there, he said across the lobby they were about to keep my car for the weekend, again. There were at least 5 other people in the lobby waiting for their cars. I responded that he told me they closed at 1 and he argued that he told me they closed at 11. If they did, why was he calling me after 11 to pick up my car, why were multiple people waiting, and why did the estimated completion time on my invoice say "11:40"? On top of this, he offered me wiper blades for $22. I specified, per blade or for both and he confirmed both. Looking at my invoice, it was per blade. I wouldn't recommend this discount tire, especially if you're working with Andrew. read more

Wow!! Nothing short of a miracle!!! So, I got into an accident with my car, now totaled, and then get into a pothole mess with my rental car! After getting the donut on, I search for a place to fix the tire or replace it. Not so fast. Slow down. Walmart - doesn't have it. Bridgestone has to special order it. Hertz tells me it's my responsibility since I didn't buy their insurance. I went home feeling defeated. My next thought is to try Bridgestone again. I pull into a parking lot, google and call. I'm told Discount Tire. Guess where I'm sitting?? Yup! Discount Tire's parking lot!! Wouldn't even give it 1 star. They made me schedule an appointment for 1030 am. I get there and they make me sit in my car for an hour promising me it will be fast when I get in the bay. I saw 3 people pull up after me and get into the bay before I even got in the bay. Once I was in the bay it took another hour. Overall I was here for 2 hours to get 2 back tires replaced. I have been having some front end issues but slowly working on them hoping the wear on the tires would hold on and let me finish all the work needed to get an alignment, again Murphy's law proven true led me to discount tire on van dyke and metro pkwy. I have always equated stores like discount tire in the same category of a firestone type shop where as they will always find something wrong with your car in their free inspection and suddenly your In luck they can repair your fictinonal car repairs at a cut rate! Having being in a bind and due at work I was luckily forced to stop in and get a tire I had my first tire out on and out the door at a descent price in less than forty five min!! Having a one more tire needed I stopped at the same shop for a second one hoping to drop off and leave work to come and collect at a later time well the gentlemen that served me said it would be 15 min true to his word under fifteen min professional timely and cost efficient I hope their other stores are as well run as this one read more
