I went in because I had a screw in one of my tires. Dave also recommended having the tires rotated since I wasn't in a position to purchase new tires at this time. When the job was finished I was expecting to pay for the work but there was no charge. They only asked that I share my experience with family and friends. I had a rather un-customer service experience here. I don't do an excessive amount of driving, but when my tires need to be replaced, I have always gone to this location. NEVER EVER again. I have a slow leak in my left front tire. Several months ago I had a piece of metal in my right rear tire which was successfully plugged in another city because it happened when I was out of town. The employee who "helped" me with the current problem claimed he saw a plug in the tire - claiming when I had the tires rotated, the tire with the plug was put on the left front. I assume because I am an older woman, he thought he could con me into believing when tires are rotated, they cross rotate which I knew was not true. So he must have seen an imaginary plug and refused to actually check out the tire. He claimed the only thing he could do was give me a price on four new tires. He also pointed out the dirt on the side of the tire was an indication the tire was degrading. I recently had service done at a reputable dealership who always gives me an update on wear and what to expect. At that time, I was told the tires are good for another 5,000 miles until the next needed service. RUN, don't walk, from this Discount Tire. The guys in the garage are great for checking tire pressure/replacing tires and it may only be one over aggressive salesperson that will ruin the reputation of this location, but I won't return to find out when I need to replace the tires - just in case the same salesperson is still there working his magic, I will go elsewhere. I went to an independently owned local tire store where I was treated with respect. The age of the car (with 30,000 miles) wasn't questioned and the nail in the tire was removed and the tire successfully repaired. I will return to the local tire store when I need new tires. I stopped into the Eureka Rd. store just after closing on 6/20/2019. Phil was just leaving and heading for his car but when I explained what I needed he headed right back into the store to take care of me. This is tremendous customer service in my book. Went in for the seasonal swap (summer rims/tires to my winter setup) which they do for free since I bought the winter set from Discount Tire a couple years ago. Balancing was therefore also free. Got my car in quickly. Which is usually the case, but it's always appreciated. The thing that impressed me most was that they went out of their way to reset my TPMS. Usually other stores throw the second set in the back of my vehicle and when I drop them off in my garage my TPMS throws a warning since it's still trying to read the set in the garage and not on the car. This store left the summer set in the shop, drove around back to reset the winter set's TPMS, then threw summer in the back. I didn't have to go back a second time to reset the winter wheels. My only complaint is that the don't do alignments or other similar services like Belle Tire. read more

Joe was amazing!! The guy I will now go to for all my tires. I never bought new tires before, and don't have a lot of money to work with. He was able to track down great tires for me for a lower price, and gave me his professional level headed opinion on my situation. Came in looking for 2 of the cheapest tires possible, left with 4 great tires (and he even hooked me up with a little financing). I have been using Discount for many years. Of the large chain service centers, these people are the best. I buy all our tires there and even if I need something simple done like fixing a flat or rotation they sometimes do it for free which is amazing. On new tires they seem to have the best prices around too. My husband blew a tire today so I took the truck here for new tires. The employees were extremely kind, patient, and informative. I have swollen lugs and they made a point to show me and explain what and why about my situation. I'm very thankful for these men today! Oh, They also have a free air bay! Went here because I had glass in my tire. They were very friendly and helpful. They checked out my car and got it in ASAP. I went in at 430pm expecting to have to bring it back the next day. Was out the door and taken care of by 5:15! They would come check in and give a quick update of time remaining. They also had bottled water for their customers. I went in thinking I needed more than what I actually did. They were helpful and actually ended up saving me some money so I'm not sure what happened with the previous reviewer. I had purchased a used tire from a privately owned place around the corner of my house since I was in a hurry to get to work one morning (my tire had been vandalized). What I didn't know was that they had given me a lousy tire that ended up ruining my struts. After getting my struts fixed, I went to Discount Tire to replace my front tires. The place was busy but we were still in and out within 30 minutes. I wish I could remember the name of the guy who helped us because he was great. He asked what I wanted (decent all season tires because I'm on the road a lot for work) and he went over three different brands of tires and their performance, cost, etc. He said I really only needed one tire since the other one was still in good shape but I replaced them both and decided to use my good one for a backup spare. We went with the middle option and he gave us a great deal. I have always been a loyal customer to Discount Tire and although this was a different location than what I have always used (I'm originally from the Lansing area and have used the Okemos location since I got my first car at 16) I'm convinced they are a great business looking to uphold a solid reputation. I've been going to Discount Tire ever since I got my first car, originally, because that's where my dad always went, and I've never once had a bad experience or felt that I was being taken advantage of. I recently got a new vehicle, and therefore, my current tires were not purchased from them (they came with the vehicle), but that didn't stop them from treating me as if I had purchased them from Discount Tire and they even gave me some of the amenities one receives when the tires were purchased there. They really know how to treat their customers and how to keep their customers loyal. Keep up the great work guys!!! I'll see ya in 6000-8000 miles for my next rotation! read more

We have dealt with this Discount Tire location many times and have been pleased so when I hit a pothole and damaged my tire my first thought was to go there. I have a tire warranty through EasyCare which requires the licensed facility to call in with a price or estimate to replace before the tire can be replaced. I was told that they (Discount Tire) really doesn't like to deal with warranties like mine but that I could bring in the vehicle and they would replace the tire and then I could submit the claim myself. If they went with my warranty they would not release my vehicle until they got paid!!!!! I knew I should have called the dealership where I got the warranty first. Shame on me! Will still take our cars there for tire pressure checks but definitely will not be doing much more than that in the future. Totally disappointed and now majorly inconvenienced. read more

I came here for a second opinion and am so glad I did. I was given honest advice and recommendations on my tires. I was told I had 10,000 more miles on my tires as opposed to replacing them all right now like I was told. They also gave me a recommendation for a mechanic... SO GLAD I took my Jeep where they said. I was given a $1800 estimate for repairs and now I'm paying HALF that and I'm not worrying about replacing my tires in addition to the suspension repair. Here's our story...I looked at my son's front tires and they needed to be replaced. I called Discount Tire and asked for price for new tires. The price sounded reasonable, so I told my son to take his car to Discount Tire on Eureka and get his front tires replaced. When he got to Discount Tire to get the front tires replaced they looked at the car and told him that they couldn't put it in the front tires on because it was unsafe to put new tires on the front, so they put the new tires on the back in the nearly bald tires that were on the back in the front. Today My son came over in the morning and had to borrow my car because he had no traction on his front wheel drive car i asked him why? I just bought new tires and he said Discount Tire wouldn't put them on the front. I told him to go to work and when he came home I called Discount Tire to talk to someone. They said yeah, that's what happened. We can't put new tires on the front, because it's unsafe. They told me they can't put new tires on the front when the tires are bald so they put the bald tires in the front and the new tires in the back. "But we will be glad to give you a deal on two more tires". I told them my son couldn't drive his car and couldn't steer on the bald tires and I said can you please put them on the front. They said no we can't put them on the front, its against our policy. I told him what to do with his policy and hung up the phone. So, tomorrow, my son in law is coming over to put the new tires on the front. After being a loyal Discount Tire customer wefor the past 10 to 12 years, I am now looking to to BelleTire or Firestone. read more
