Discount Tire has absolutely exceptional service!!! I scheduled an appointment online for 9am Friday morning. I walked in at exactly 9am and was greeted as soon as I entered the store. After a very brief wait, an associate inquired about my tire issue and walked me outside to inspect all of my tires. The associate gave me a very detailed breakdown of each tire that was displayed on his device and showed me the level of tread for each one. Once it was determined that I needed a new front tire, we walked back inside to discuss the different tire options and costs. I loved that they gave me 4 different tire options ranging from $70+ to $150+ and that he explained the pros and cons of each one. As we were discussing my options, another associate asked if I wanted a bottle of water (I had brought my own) but I thought that was very nice of them to ask. As soon as we finalized everything, the associate mentioned that the service should take between 30-35 mins. Mind you, I also had a slow leak in another tire that they had to plug. I assumed that he was way off and that it was going to take closer to an hour. Nope!!! I sat down in the Waiting Area around 9:15am my car was ready at 9:40am. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the breakdown the associate provided of each of my tires, the tire options that were very affordable and the super speedy service! Went in this morning to get an alignment and tire balance. Was told I need new tires and balancing wouldn't help anything. I was also told they weren't sure if they could do my alignment because I have a camera in my windshield for Lane Departure Warning. I let them know my vehicle (2015 Mazda 6) did not have that feature. They said they would figure it out when they pulled it in and asked me to leave it there. Why can't you tell me if you can do it or not? It's a fairly ubiquitous vehicle, I'm sure more than one has come through here. My tech said he needs to look at it before he can say yes or no. Please give me my keys. No real help from Marko. They lost out on an alignment for seemingly no other reason than they didn't want to figure out if they could do my alignment or not. I've had this car for almost 10 years and nobody has ever mentioned the camera in the windshield. Clearly it can be done. read more

Had a great experience at Discount Tire. Upfront, I want to make it perfectly clear: I did not buy my tires at Discount Tire. I am not, IN ANY WAY, a returning customer. To this day, Discount Tire has earned ZERO of my monies. Still had a great experience. I needed to get my tires rotated. So I went to Discount Tire. I never even asked them how much it was going to be, just told them that's what I needed and expected to pay a reasonable amount for the service. They took my keys and were done very quickly. Before I knew it I was being summoned to the register with an "all ready", from the team member. Got up to the front and was ALREADY TAKING MY WALLET OUT, and the guy handed me my keys and told me to have a nice day. Confusion. Mostly mine at first. Then his. "How much is it?" There's no charge. "You rotated my tires, though right?" Yep. "And there's no charge?" Nope. Everything looks great. If there was something wrong we would recommend anything, but everything looks great. "I'm not a customer. I mean, I didn't purchase my tires here." That's okay. I left very confused, very pleased, and very grateful. Discount Tire could have easily charged me $45 for a tire rotation. Noticed my car was sounding funny as I left the Walmart on First Colonial. The sound was indicative of something being stuck in my tire. You know, the thump thump thump as you drive. I pulled up on this Discount Tire at about 5:30, they close at 6. But they said they could help. I waited about 15 minutes and my car went back to get the screw removed and tire plugged. This Discount Tire is located at the intersection of General Booth Blvd. and Dam Neck Rd. You can enter the business heading eastbound on Dam Neck Rd. or heading northbound along General Booth Blvd. The building and signs are highly visible from the road. My first visit here was on November 15, 2018. The reason for coming in was due to the TPMS light coming on for the car the evening before, meaning there was an issue with a tire somewhere. The place is pretty close to home so the travel there wasn't long at all. I went into the bay for their free air and tire pressure checks. After they did the check, sure enough, one of the tires was punctured. Since the tire was repairable, it was actually no cost to have it fixed there. One thing they told me afterwards is that one of my tires already had a tread depth of 4/32 and recommended replacing the tires soon. I guess my tires were getting tired already. I declined at the time as I hadn't had any other issues. In the end, this was a great first experience here, and would come back in the future to get new tires. After getting my car's oil change and tire rotation completed at my local dealership (free), they made a note as well about the tires should be looked at being replaced. I talked to them about it, but of course, the cost is much higher there and also brought up the issue that the tires are rated for 55,000 miles, yet I only had 25,000 miles on the car at the time. They offered to cover 30% of the cost to replace them, but the cost is still much higher than what I could get at Discount Tire. A week or so later, I was back at Discount Tire to start the process of looking at tires for my car, as well as my mom's car. I figured it would be best to get both done at the same time since both cars needed new tires. My initial visit for this was on April 13, 2019, but didn't commit yet as I was checking several places. Nicholas Sparrow was the one that I talked to then, who is also one of the store managers. About a week later, after searching for tires and checking different tire stores out, I went and ordered the tires for my car. After searching online beforehand, I found them cheaper by about $35 per tire. They will match tire prices, even online ones. The sales process as a whole was easy and no pressure. Two days after that, the tires were in and was time to have the tires put on the cars. Nicholas made the entire process very easy and hassle free. It was a great time to get them too between different rebates that ultimately added up to $120. Overall, this was an excellent experience for both incidents that brought me here. With the purchase of the tires, tire rotation and balances are included for the life of the tires, as well free air checks. Nicholas was great to work with and also had a great experience with the assistant manager Richard Weimer when the car was ready to be taken back. One thing I do want to note is that they do not do alignments at Discount Tire. In the end, if you are in the market for new tires, be sure to check out their website, check pricing elsewhere, and then come in with proof of the best price so they can match it when you get your tires here. Super disappointed with Discount Tire at the corner of General Booth and Dam Neck road. I've been here multiple times and spent a bunch of money on tires. Service has always been great for an older high mileage vehicle that I have, but my experience this week was less than optimal. The young gentleman who helped me when I walked in (glasses, dark hair, long side burns) was rude, argumentative and less than responsive to basic questions. If he would have listened the interaction could have gone better. It's not that you need my business, but keep it up and others will be paying attention as well. Firestone across the street is busier, but cheaper and more professional (less yelling from the shop and the music isn't blasting throughout the store) with better customer service. read more

Walked in without an appointment and was immediately greeted by a friendly staff member. I explained that I had an issue with one of my tires continuously losing air. Before I knew it, my vehicle was ready to go and another kind staff member made sure to explain in detail what had caused the leak. When I asked what I owed for their service, I was lost for words when they said "no charge for flats." You can't even get free air to fill up your tires at some gas stations!!! After reading the reviews I had to see what everyone was speaking about, I've worked in hospitality for over twenty-four years, so I always want to test and see Pople's ability to provide customer service. Although a tire place would not uphold a "Hospitality" level service it does come close, great service, fast and clean. In my first time I say I was impressed, Devin took care of me, found a great price and I was out with in less than an Hour so I can have time for my other errands. Not what it used to be. I purchased certificates for all four of my tires when I purchased one in 2018. Had a slow leak in my tire and my husband took it in for replacement. He was told we didn't see anything in the system about the certificate purchased previously, so they patched the tire. We travel out of the state often and for safety purposes so what I was told when I purchased the other certificates should be applied. When my husband returned home with the tire patched and no replacement, I called and spoke with representative, then went in with my receipt to prove all certificates that were purchased. No apology just ok I see it now and I had to wait close to 2 hours for the new replacement. What a inconvenience, especially when the original appointment was booked online with all services I was requesting.. We will get our tires from Costco from now on. read more

After some bad service at another tire place we came to Discount Tire and they took good care of us. Yesterday we ran over a screwdriver off of Virginia Beach Blvd. and was forced to go to the nearest auto service center, Tread Quarters, because we were losing air in our tire fast. The staff there appeared to be very unprofessional and as you see in one of these photos mounted our tire on backwards, lost our end cap, and replaced our valve cover with a cheap plastic one! Discount Tires has been our tire go to company for quite awhile. They are economical, efficient and have lifetime rotation.

The Short: 10 out of 10 would recommend to a friend! Blake went over and beyond on two separate occasions to make sure I had a pleasant experience. The Long: I ordered tires online and had them delivered to the General Booth location. Upon inspection Blake noticed something wasn't right with one of the tires and sent it back to the warehouse. I have a somewhat unique tire size and unfortunately the tire wasn't available in the local area by my appointment time. Blake ordered better quality tires, had someone personally drive to pick them up, and discounted them to the price of the ones I ordered to make sure I was back on the road that day. Then a week later I had my car dropped off by SandBridge Towing with two completely destroyed tires (100% my fault). Luckily, I sprung for the warranty and they were covered, but once again they were ordered, delivered, and installed rather quickly. To top that off they even waived the deductible. I cannot say it enough. 100% satisfied and I would not go anywhere else for tire service. read more

So growing up in Michigan, I bought almost all my tires at Discount. So I was pretty excited about one opening up near me. I needed to buy new tires for my truck. I priced them out. They had the best prices. I dropped off my truck. When I came back. My truck was still in the bay. I noticed two guys underneath my truck trying to put the spare on. Then I noticed multiple spare tire handles laying on the floor. Then I noticed them wrenching it and looking like it was de-threaded when wrenching it. Fifteen minutes later, one of the kids asks me if there was a spare tire handle in the truck. I said yes. Showed him where it was. Then fifteen minutes later, he comes back and tries to tell me the spare tire apparatus is rusted and won't work (even though it worked fine two weeks ago). So I go inside, tell the sales guy that I think he broke my spare tire mount. The kid come in, says my truck is ready. I leave. Then ten minutes later, I get a call. The manager says to take it to a shop to get looked at. Meanwhile, I am driving home and my hood is flapping. The kid when putting back my spare tire handle, didn't shut my hood completely. So two days later. Take it to the shop. The shop said they destroyed the spare tire mounts thread. Then the next weekend, I am driving on the highway, and I notice that it's vibrating at higher speeds. Basically anything over 60. So again, I needed to take my truck back in. All my tires needed rebalanced. Sadly. I'm happy with the tires. Not happy with the quality of service. Manager was nice. But the kid who messed all this up really needs to be trained up. read more

Fantastic. I got a flat and needed a tire. (Couldn't be repaired because puncture was at the very edge). I only needed 1 tire because it's a new car. Ordered tire to match the other 3.
