Went thrifting this afternoon and my first stop was Black and Brown. I'd never been there before…read moreand wasn't sure what to expect. Wow, what an amazing store. They mainly sell vintage and modern secondhand clothes, bags, and shoes for women and men, but they also have new pottery from a designer called Familiar. The store is spacious and carefully curated. There is no thrift shop smell and it looks more like a cute boutique than a secondhand store. You can sell your clothes there, too. There are two floors of women's clothes and a separate men's shop across a little courtyard in the back. Most of the customers when I was there were young adults of both sexes. The store was busy on a Saturday in the late afternoon. Fortunately, they have a dedicated parking lot behind the shop with plenty of spaces. The staff welcomed me immediately when I walked in. I was interested in looking at purses and they had quite a few vintage and newer ones from designers like Coach, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, and Dooney & Bourke. I didn't buy any, but enjoyed checking out what they had to offer. I didn't pay too much attention to the clothes, except to notice that women's pant sizes on the second floor only seemed to go up to size 11/12. If they had bigger sizes, I didn't see them. Overall, I was impressed with Black and Brown and would like to go back.

It took some time to find items that interested me as I looked through the entire store (two floors for women and one for men). Some items were over priced but you can find some good gems here. Overall, I would recommend!

The associate let me know it would arrive early morning the next day. I never received a call like they said I would so I waited all weekend and when I finally came to pick it up they had sent over the wrong size. The owner then forced us to go pick it up in Daly City if I wanted it that same day and offered no partial refund or even a discount on a future purchase. Will be blasting them on TikTok. Order on Stock X. Associate also made us uncomfortable asking us about our ethnicity instead of just checking us out.

I don't recommend this place I highly recommend the other shoe place here called Fresh Society and super accommodating too. Also said they would call me back for shoes a few months back and never once did. Also looked at recent reviews looks like everybody hates it here recently

Finally had my long-awaited color analysis appointment--and it was SO worth the wait!…read more I've been wanting to do this since last year, but Angie is super popular and hard to book. I managed to grab a slot on New Year's Day for March, and I've been looking forward to it ever since! I've always been confused about what colors actually suit me. I tend to stick to black and gray in winter, and brighter pinks in summer--but I wasn't sure if lighter shades worked for me. I came prepared with my makeup, wardrobe photos, and even some clothes to test. Angie reviewed everything both before and after determining my season, which was super helpful. I had watched tons of videos about color analysis before, but never fully understood it--until Angie explained it. It finally clicked! The best part? Draping! We discovered I'm a cool tone, specifically Light Summer (light + pale) & Bright Summer. My second-best seasons are Bright Winter and Very Pale Winter. I was so happy to find out many of my clothes already fit my palette--and the top I wore that day was actually my signature color! She also gave personalized advice on hair color, hairstyle, brow shape, and even glasses. Then she reviewed my makeup again... and yep, most of it was warm-toned and not right for me. Time to refresh my makeup bag! Even with a Korea trip coming up, I'm so glad I made time for this. Angie is friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. The experience exceeded my expectations and was totally worth it. Highly recommend if you've ever been curious about your colors!

I now understand why Angie's color analysis class is so popular--it's 100% worth it…read more I used to follow fashion advice about building a capsule wardrobe with black, white, and gray, but Angie showed me that those colors are not flattering on everyone. She helps you find your best colors, style, and how to present yourself confidently. I even referred my Australian colleague and my daughter (in NYC) to take her class, and both said it helped them shop much more effectively for clothing and cosmetics. You save money because you stop buying the wrong shades and styles. Angie is incredibly experienced. She can often identify your subseason undertone even before draping, but she still does the draping to verify. I trust her eye and her fashion judgment completely. My honest advice: take this class as early as possible. I only wish I had done it decades ago.

I asked him if they have any sweaters with a different type of material because I found this one itchy, but he's not really interested. He just tells me "let's just take care of this return first and then we'll see". so he processes my return and says "alright, you're all set", without any intention of following up on the question I had asked earlier. I asked again, "so do you have any other sweaters, with a different type of wool, and he says, "well there's some sweaters on the counter behind you. You can take a look ", without any intention of helping. so, I have to literally ask "what kind of material are those sweaters made of?" now he doesn't know either so he looks up the item on his computer and he tells me that they are indeed a different type of wool. It should not have taken this much effort for my question to be answered. Could he be any less interested in making a sale? At this point he gets a call with a customer, presumably, and stays on this call for 5 minutes. I continue to browse and find a sweater that I quite like and bring it up to the counter to ask him to look up the price and material for me. But he never gets off the call, which isn't entirely his fault. But he could have multitasked and or put the call on hold to help the customer that is actually there in person. But he really just did not seem interested in engaging with me. Where's that stellar bonobos customer service I keep reading about? Not present at the Santana row store on Monday 12/22 at 6pm. Management if you're reading this, that guy needs to be fired. You just lost a loyal customer!

My main reason for…read moregoing was to browse and admire the designer handbags, my current obsession, without buying anything. They have a really nice selection. I was able to see bags and charms from Coach, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Longchamp, and many more designers. I had admired some of the bags online and enjoyed seeing what they looked like in real life. The biggest surprise was Coach. I burned out on Coach purses over 10 years ago, but found some of their bags to be quite beautiful and well-made. I also saw some Tory Burch bags I really liked, and I'm not usually a fan. One sales associate offered to assist me and then kindly left me alone and let me browse. Spending time at Nordstrom was one of the highlights of my visit to the mall.

I am requesting management review of a checkout experience at this Nordstrom location…read more My partner and I were waiting in line at the register when an employee told us, along with another couple, that there was "no line" and directed us to move to the other side of the register. We complied immediately. After relocating and waiting as instructed, another customer was then allowed to cut ahead of us even though we had already been waiting, twice mind you. When I raised the issue in the moment, stating that we had been waiting first, the situation was not corrected and no adjustment was made to the order of service. The employee pretended to be surprised there was a line when he was the one who kicked us out in the first place. The result was inconsistent queue management that disproportionately affected multiple Asian customers who were waiting in line. Regardless of intent, the handling of the situation created a perception of unfair treatment and favoritism to Caucasian customers and was not addressed when brought to staff attention. I am sharing this feedback in hopes that management can review staff training and ensure consistent handling of checkout lines so customers are not redirected out of order or left waiting unfairly after following instructions.
