Stocked very well as far as blankets, kitchen items, soaps, etc. The decor and furnishings felt higher-end and the beds were very comfortable. The master shower is very big! Not to mention, the backyard was absolutely beautiful, the pool was very clean and it just felt so serene. The house was in a great location-- central to almost everything. There weren't any huge negatives, but a few things to note. Dirty sheets were left in the washer (didn't smell good), the carpet is a bit worn, and the shower curtain liner in the smaller bathroom is pretty ripped and needs replaced. Toilet paper was very low-quality as well. Communication was more automated than I'm used to (large company) but the info provided was helpful and I had no issues. I would definitely consider staying at this spacious and centrally-located rental again. We felt it was decently affordable compared to other options nearby.

WE LOVED IT HERE! They are old cottages that have been 'lovingly' renovated with modern fixtures. VERY clean with everything you want in a room: coffee maker, fridge, microwave. The first Monday of the month is a tsunami siren test (ask me how we found out). It's reasonable, close to Long Beach with it's various stores and restaurants and RIGHT NEXT DOOR to the Seaview Biscuit Company! I have a separate review for that, and YES, you have to try it! The Seaview Cottages is a popular place and because of that, we had two different rooms during our three day stay. One night with double queen beds, and two nights with a king bed. So make your reservations early! If we are ever in this area again, THIS is the place where we want to stay! It made me one GLAAAD SISTER! :D

This is, by far, the absolute worst manager we've ever dealt with - mainly because we never had any problems at all with the previous 13. The house we rent had known there were rats and had hired an exterminator. The exterminator discovered water under the house and "multiple places" where rats could come and go. We reported the problem and, now, over a year later, there is still water under the house and holes for the rats. No work has been completed. Because the rats were a pre-existing condition and we had done nothing to encourage them, under state laws, the landlord is responsible for making those repairs. Yet in a conversation, the agent I was dealing with claimed we were responsible. They, obviously, don't even know the laws applicable to their job. That conversation also contains comments about me and totally mis-represented what I said. If you're going to do business with them record everything they say (be sure to inform them of your intention, it's the law). I will be doing so myself.

It was totally obvious as soon as I started to rearrange the pillows on the bed I noticed all the dog hair all over and I had to rewash my sheets. They did bring sheets to us later, but still that's not what I wanted to do as soon as I already paid a $30 fee to get us in one hour earlier, which I've never really heard of and if you rent Airbnb from him, mom and Pop, then I don't think that they would've done that either. It's all about money to corporation so if you want to not experience a personal stay, do not stay with Meredith lodging

After booking, we were informed of a strict 10:00 PM hot tub curfew that was not clearly disclosed in the listing prior to payment. When we reached out for clarification, the response from the host was dismissive and unwilling to work toward any reasonable compromise or resolution. To be clear, our family was not looking to host parties or be disruptive. We simply wanted to enjoy the hot tub quietly after spending the day caring for toddlers and family activities. Responsible adults should not automatically be treated as if they are going to create problems. What made the experience even more frustrating was the inconsistent explanation provided afterward. We were told the hot tub was for "day use only," yet nowhere in the listing did it clearly define specific usage hours before booking. Had these restrictions been clearly and transparently disclosed upfront, we would have chosen a different property that better fit our family's needs. Customer service and clear communication matter, especially when families are spending significant money on accommodations. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling misled and disappointed.

There was everything you would hope for... all the basics like coffee filters, spices, soaps, detergents, pots and pans, kids cups & utensils, pack n play, and much more (even stuff for the dog like bowls and a leash). Plenty of beach toys in the garage. The hot tub was hot and very clean. You can tell the owners go above and beyond to make it comfortable and cozy for the guests. Update. I just got billed for 1.5 hours even though the guy was only there for 56 minutes. The…read moreinvoice says I canceled the job, but the guy told me he could only do a bit and he would have to schedule another time for the rest. AND I was billed $82 for the parts. if I picked them up at the store myself, it would have been about $35 - $40. So far, I've only found 3 reputable contractors on the peninsula. I know how to do the projects, but I wanted a few off my list. I feel sorry for the folks who are stuck paying for this crap because they don't have the skills. I can't imagine what I would have been billed if I rescheduled the two showers. Never call Belks or Taft again.
