Our room was huge and was temperature controlled, we had a really big bathtub to soak in. We didn't even leave the hotel for dinner. We just ate at the bar! Rachel at the bar was just fantastic! The manager, Jasmine was also very kind and attentive. Milk and cookies at 7pm was such a nice little touch to seal the deal. Attention to detail at this place was impeccable. They've put so much thought into something as trivial as how they robes smelled! The hotel itself has a very cool and industrial architecture but without the coldness! They have incorporated huge water marble art and very minimalistic marine-animal art which was a great juxtaposition. We were only here for one night, but this was easily one of those hotels where the hotel itself becomes part of the trip.

Highlights of our trip included: * The Room & Views: Having a suite gave us great extra space, and the views of the Columbia River were unbeatable. * The Amenities: We loved the complimentary hot breakfast (with a live omelet station!), grabbing an early evening drink in the lounge, and the 7 PM cookies. * The Location: It's perfectly situated right on the river walk and just steps away from great places to eat. * The Spa: We both had incredible massages. I usually find resort massages to be hit or miss, but our therapist, Breanne, was phenomenal. She knew exactly what she was doing and finally removed a knot I've had for weeks! Highly recommend booking a stay (and a massage with Breanne)!"

The property feels like a retreat with a lovely atmosphere that feels a world apart from Long Beach despite being so close in proximity to town. We didn't have time to make full use of the pool, sauna, or pickleball courts - but these amenities would be perfect for a rainy day at the coast and when we come back we'll make more time in our schedule to use them. Check-in/check-out was a breeze and staff was very pleasant. They let me borrow a lighter for a birthday cake which was much appreciated! The walk to the beach is very scenic and beautiful in itself. Highly recommend this resort!

Prior to this visit, the rooms were fairly basic, but very adequate. Today, we arrived to find a beautifully updated room, that feels much bigger and much cleaner than they previously were. We have new appliances, new countertop and backsplash, new floors, a larger couch, a huge king bed, a walk-in shower with a new vanity, and everything is just stunning. Very well done! From the bottom units, you have a small deck with a bench, and upper units have a balcony. All rooms overlook the dunes, and the higher ones can catch you a glimpse of the ocean. You spend the evening listening to the roar of the waves. It's so relaxing. In the main office area, you'll find a recreation room, vending machines, and espresso stand with good coffee, and a huge saline pool that's in a solarium type of building. Their fitness center is small but it's something. They love dogs, and it shows. You'll get a welcome pack for your mutt, and there's a lighthouse themed dog house in the parking lot that you can take pictures of your dog with. There's two TVs - you can stream from your device in the bedroom, or watch cable in the living room. You'll have a gas fireplace, a lounge chair, a couch that folds out into a bed with a nice, squishy mattress, and a two person dining table. The staff here have been here a long time, and it's always nice to see a familiar face when we arrive. Shout out to Kevin! Always friendly and helpful. It's about a five minute drive to downtown Long Beach, where you'll find a bakery, an arcade, and lots of shops and restaurants. Don't forget you can even drive on the beach! You'll love it here.

We were able to get partial view of the ocean as well! It's probably just me but I always stress out when I book hotels that have carpeted rooms because people don't remove their dirty footwear. It's always so pleasant to spend my money on non-carpeted floors because I can clean the floor myself. With two toddlers in tow who love to touch, sit, and lay down in places they've never slept at before, this resort definitely helped relieve that stress! I really have nothing negative to say about this place. Upon checking in, we received two cans of beer, free of charge - not sure if that was because it was Thanksgivings weekend, or if it is some they they normally do - but that was a nice surprise to have. The rooms included dishes and utensils which was a bonus as well as a dustpan and broom for sweeping all the sand that comes in. The bed was comfortable and fit all four of us comfortably (we had a king-size bed). The bathtub was a bit odd just because there was a sliding window which when opened connected to the bedroom. Our kids had a hoot being in the bathtub while getting to watch tv at the same time - although there was also a tv in the bathroom. Location was absolutely perfect! A five minute walk to the beach! In addition, there were many restaurants to choose from in the area. We found it so convenient during dinner hours because when our toddlers were on the verge of meltdowns, we would get the check and walk to our rooms easily.

It's surprisingly hard to find hotels that are this pet-friendly, so that was a huge plus! The building itself is beautiful, but the real highlight is booking a room facing the river. We could even hear the sea lions in the distance, which made the whole experience feel peaceful and so unique. The outdoor saunas were an amazing touch and the heated floors throughout the room, made our stay extra cozy, especially if you're visiting during Oregon's colder months! They've got you covered. Within walking distance to so many restaurants and downtown Astoria, if you're planning a trip here, I can't recommend the Bowline Hotel enough. You won't be left hungry here. They do close early at 6 on though so use your time wisely! We stayed in Condo 2 and it was absolutely lovely.
