We don't have a pet. Many do. We have a kitchenette , fully stocked. And a Laundry on the first floor. We have a smart TV and get the same set up as home. Seems pretty normal. We ll be here a Week. i brought 3 kites to fly. Hoping for the best. UPDATE NEXT AM Not a windy morning for the Kite event, so plan B Laundry. There is a private laundry room in each of the four buildings. Access only with door key from front desk. One nice large washer and dryer set. Bigger than mine. Bring your own supplies and no seating. Washer is 50 minutes, i expect the dryer to be the same. Clean and New.

I immediately called and the lady that answered switched me to a pet friendly room. The room itself was pretty cute, bed was comfortable. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the beach but its a nice walk down discovery trail. We didn't use the pool because I forgot my shorts, but it looked nice. I would definitely stay here again.

The little balcony had dead dried plants fallen over onto the walkway and covered in dirt and dust so you couldn't enjoy it. And the blinds were so old they were shredded. It may have been cute at one time but the down stairs has no ambiance with random tables and chairs. $170 after tax? I'd rather have stayed in a generic hotel.

"Nice and friendly" is beyond an understatement when describing this gentleman. The General Store has so many snacks, I probably spent $60 on all the stuff I ate. I couldn't help myself. You won't be left hungry here. They do close early at 6 on though so use your time wisely! We stayed in Condo 2 and it was absolutely lovely. They even have pots, pans, silverware, dishes and mugs in the kitchen for you to use. Oh! We were so happy to see a griddle! The bathtub is also a jacuzzi! And they had little toiletries for you. Oh, and makeup remover wipes even! Talk about next level thinking! Everything hardware you need for a basic stay is there. It really felt like home. Balcony was a nice touch, but the air conditioning unit for the store was directly under the balcony and ran 24/7. There was no air conditioning in the room, so windows needed to be open. When I talked to the lady in charge she offered no solutions, only that maybe next time we could stay in the condos. NEXT TIME??? The mail truck pulled up next door at 5:30am and lots of loud noise loading the truck. And $157.....

The cottages are comfy and are decorated with neat little antique details. There's a firepit on the property, right next to the chicken coops! This is best told as a tale: my wife wanted to do something truly unique and awesome for the weekend, so she booked a room at Fisherman Suites, which is right above Coffee Girls at the end of Pier 39 in Astoria. Booking all done on line, confirmed that we'd be arriving at 4:00 on Friday. Wasn't able to get an answer to "where do we find you to check in?" which turned out to be significant. So we arrive at Pier 39 right at 4 PM and start looking for Fisherman Suites. It is upstairs, at the end of a series of offices. That is, the suites are upstairs, but no hotel office and no one around. Tried phoning, but the phone system dead ends, no voice mail. After looking around Pier 39 a bit I went into the brew pub and asked; the office is next to the Pier 39 men's room, and it turns out to be the office for the Pier 39 development. Office is open, no one there. The people in the brew pub suggested the dive shop as another possibility as to where the owner might be, but no joy there: lights on, nobody home. Well, you can imagine that my wife was getting pretty upset by all of this, as she'd planned to have this amazing weekend and it wasn't starting out too well. We'd been wandering around for about an hour when I went back to the pub again and asked if there might be some other way to find the owner. "He's right over there talking to those people." Walked over, introduced myself, and the owner handed me the key. "Let me know if you need anything." Um, right...how would I do that? Never mind. We're here, we've got the key, game on. So we're in our room, which is a wide room with lots of river view windows. Think I'll sit and look out...wait, where's the furniture? Found a small love seat pushed against the wall and moved it and a table into viewing position. Now to turn off the harsh overhead lights and switch on the table lamps...umm...there's one dim table lamp over by the bed, and that's it. Here's what we've got: guy furnishing. The woodworking is beautiful, the lighting is utilitarian, the walls stark white with no art work at all, jangling blue-green bathroom. Noisy fridge, microwave, worst coffeemaker in the universe. A gorgeous gas fireplace that doesn't work. WiFi best described as "iffy." There isn't any sense of cozy or comfortable. I'm guessing that the rooms were designed to be office space and converted into a hotel later. So here's the upside: a unique locale with a stunning view of the river, quiet, remote, and you can walk into town. Coffee Girls is right downstairs. Downside: expensive, not cozy or comfortable, and challenging to do business with. Glad we had the experience, but there are several other riverside places that offer better service and better value.

It's a bit of a drive from Long Beach - again, not what I expected, but we're on vacation and another 15 minutes doesn't matter. When we pulled in, I thought we were at the wrong place. The address was right, but it looked like someone's home. I didn't read my email, so I didn't know how to check in. The cleaning lady was there and told me how to check in and to read my email for the code. By the way, she was super nice! We checked in and found the hotel to be very nice. The room was nice and clean. It was also nicely decorated - a huge plus! The entire hotel was nicely decorated - someone spent some time making this just right! We walked to the water - it's just behind the hotel. There's a nice little bench to sit and enjoy the area. I walked up and down the coast a little - there's some holes in the ground, so be careful if you do. Anyway, it's just gorgeous! We were near the front door and we noticed someone picking something from the bush. The gal who helped me check in was there and she told us there's blackberries on the bush. We ate some and they were tasty - don't eat the light colored or red ones - they're not ready yet! I spent some time in the lobby - very pleasant and a great place to read. I didn't grab a book, but they have a lot of them to choose from if you want. The next morning, we had breakfast in the dining room. It's stocked with continental breakfast things, which we enjoyed. We spoke to a lady from New Mexico, who was looking for a place to relocate. We had a great conversation, headed up to the room and got cleaned up, then headed out. I highly recommend it!

The smell of the entire building was just like stuffy and hard to breathe. The beds were on like cot frames, it was just not good. This 'hotel' is basically a big communal home. There is no private bathrooms, after a long day of playing at the beach, I went to take a shower and ran out of hot water in just a few minutes. I will never stay here or recommend anyone stay here. Also i had 2 children with me, it was not an ideal place to stay.

We enjoyed the temperate climate & exploring the MANY scenic coastal attractions &nearby beach towns . Camp Rilea was perfect , as our secure & quite DOG FRIENDLY "base camp".Every evening we met "new friends"amongst our camping neighbors , as we enjoyed a campfire & hot coco before bed ! Except for that one Evening we visited the Port light pub , right there on base for a few Adult Beverages and Happy Hour snacks ! We were thrilled every evening to view a large heard of ELK that tends to bed down(ironically ) in the gun range area . We also found the fishing lake, to be a lovely scenic stroll with our canine companion. We even received permission to go onto the beach(After ammunition training hours)in the late afternoon.... It was a little bit of a drive & involved hiking over a large sand dune . Our reward was quite a rare treat .....three miles of coastline all to ourselves! A sunset to remember.

Over the Veteran's Day weekend the hotels in the area were booked solid, many with rooms at $250 or $300/day. I paid $30/night for a barebones room on the base. My room, while simple, was clean, had fresh bedding and towels, a nice shower, and with the window open I could hear the ocean. For those with access to the Oregon military reservation, it's quite a value. One must be prepared for extra security at the gate, and you may have to call the lodging reservation number more than once to get a live person, but for the price, the location can't be beat.

Only gray water at each site. They do have a dump site on location, which helps. The WiFi is not worth paying for. It's dreadfully slow. The cable channels are fine and if you plan to watch, worth paying. Staff is friendly and helpful!
