Just like my room growing up in Minnesota! Clean, sweet, and simple. Great service and very comfy bed.

Inexpensive and pet friendly, if not a bit musty.

They have a small shop offering snacks and drinks as well as Sou'wester merchandise. The staff is very friendly and helpful. One can walk into town for a meal and the beach isn't far away. You're close to the ocean, surrounded by trees, and there's this constant sense of spaciousness that lets your mind open up. It creates the perfect conditions for artists to think, feel, and make work. What makes Arts Week truly special, though, is the people. The group of artists is diverse, thoughtful, and deeply engaged. You're in conversation all day long, whether that's over shared meals, spontaneous collaborations, or late night talks that somehow become the most meaningful part of the experience. It's rare to find a space where people show up this open and this willing to connect. The programming strikes a great balance. There's structure when you want it, like readings, performances, and workshops, but also plenty of unstructured time to follow your own creative instincts. There's also a real sense of care built into the week. The staff and organizers are thoughtful and attentive, and you can feel that they want everyone there to succeed!

Inn at Discovery Coast - Dog friendly, first floor only in Beach House building

We didn't have any of the challenges with neighbors and had a lovely stay. I felt bad for people in the pool house. We got up at 7:30 to enjoy the 7-9am adults only quiet time in the pool and sauna but there were already kids yelling by 8. We could just leave... they could not.

They must've been busy or overwhelmed, because the amenities weren't explained until we asked about them. They don't give you a map of the property or of Long Beach either like other resort-y hotels I've been to. When asked what there was to do in town, they didn't really suggest anything specific other than going south and going north (it's all one street). We stayed in the "Beach House" studio room and to be honest, it could use a remodel. The wood floors were a bit sticky and the gas fireplace was not plugged in when we check in. Walls/ceilings are thin, we could hear our neighbors stomping around all night. The jetted tub in the room, while nice in theory, looked very dingy yellow and the caulk needed to be replaced. It is nice that it's pet friendly, but there wasn't much pet amenities other than treats at the Adrift front lobby. A bandana, dog bowl to borrow, or extra sheet for our dog would have been nice. They do have free EV chargers, you have to ask for a card at the lobby. Be careful tho! Other guests unplugged and used our charger while we went to get a card.
