Sorry I was not up and getting my messages on Yelp…read more My poor mommy broke her hip and is staying at the Arlington for rehabilitation we don't know if she'll be staying a month or what. My whole world is turned upside down. :'(. It's been so hard on me. I hope she'll get back to normal soon it's been hard on her too. The Arlington is beautiful hugs and everyone treats you like family and friends . The nurses are very accommodating. They go above and beyond to help my mommy. The social worker Emily went out of her way to be so accommodating. The therapy department is top notch.

Stayed here for almost a month I had broken my bone in my hip and I had to learn how to walk all…read moreover again. The therapy department is topnotch But the administration departments stinks. I didn't like how they talked/treated my youngest daughter that was staying with me. My youngest daughter Laura was staying with me and was helping me through this ordeal. My bathroom was acting up so a maintenance man was called out to fix the toilet. He did fix it the first time we went out to stay on the patio and talked with someone then we were reading. Came back to water on the floor called again got the same maintenance man he was puzzled as to why it was this way. Then he had taken pictures of the toilet why I don't know I WAS WITH MY DAUGHTER AT ALL TIMES. We went out again to try to get me walking then we had tea with a friend that came to visit me and I had asked my daughter to run a head of me to get a check for me so I can pay a friend back. I had caught up to her.she got the check and turned to ask me if she could brush her teeth before giving it to me. I then said yes,if I knew what would've happened to her I would've said no obviously the maintenance man he didn't know what to say about it he had blamed my daughter ,he whipped his phone out to show a picture of a TOILET FOR GODS SAKE SHE DID NOTHING WRONG.

Review of Management and Administrative Practices…read more This review addresses a significant and highly unprofessional lapse in administrative conduct regarding the refund of a security deposit. Prospective residents and their families should consider this experience when evaluating the integrity and reliability of the management team. Unjustified Retention of Refundable Deposit We paid a fully refundable security deposit of $X as part of the initial application and holding process. Due to unforeseen changes, we withdrew our application well within the contractual period that guaranteed a full refund, as stipulated in the initial agreement signed with the facility. Despite documented contractual obligations and our formal, written request for the refund, the management has unilaterally and without legal justification refused to process the return of these funds. This is not only a breach of contract but demonstrates a profound lack of financial transparency and ethical business practice. Consistent and Unacceptable Non-Responsiveness The process of attempting to resolve this matter has been severely hampered by the management's persistent and deliberate non-responsiveness. Over the past six weeks, we have made more than ten documented attempts to contact the administrative office via phone, direct email, and certified mail. The attempts to reach the Director or any relevant financial officer have been met with silence, unanswered calls, and unreturned emails. The complete lack of communication on a serious financial matter is unacceptable. This pattern of evasion regarding a simple, contractual refund raises serious concerns about how this management team would handle critical, time-sensitive issues concerning the health and well-being of residents. In the context of long-term care, where responsive and reliable communication is paramount, this administrative failure is a severe red flag. Conclusion and Recommendation Our experience with the management has been deeply disappointing and highly unprofessional. The refusal to honor a clear, written contractual obligation for a refund, compounded by deliberate non-responsiveness, reflects poorly on the overall governance of the retirement home. We urge prospective families to scrutinize the administrative contract terms carefully and be prepared for potential financial and communicative challenges. We currently await the immediate return of our full deposit.

I take no pleasure in giving a negative review of Terracina Grand. My father was a resident of…read moreTerracina Grand for over 6 years and it became his home. The last year and a half, the service at the resident level and overall feel of the facility has negatively changed. COVID probably had a lot to do with this, but there is a fundamental shift in compassion at the facility. For context, I have previously written great reviews of Terracina. If you preview reviews, you will note that the majority of positive reviews are a few years old and some are from employees. Dad initially moved into the facility with my mother in 2015.Her health was changing and they decided to relocate to an environment where Dad could get assistance in caring for her. When they first moved in, they loved the facility and bragged to all of their family and friends about the wonderful care they received. As an RN and their Health Care Surrogate, I was impressed and when I first visited the facility, I knew they had made the right choice. Her care was compassionate, the social activities were plentiful and the food was excellent. All of this combined to make the overall ambiance of the comforting. When Mom died, Dad decided to continue living there. In 2020, during the pandemic, I could not visit and the comfort he felt began to dwindle. The Goodman Group (the parent company of Terracina) began actively cutting costs, most likely due to the fact that the occupancy level dropped during the pandemic. The Executive Management changed and Dad began to express concerns about living in the facility. The Goodman Group is a for profit organization. I will agree that the facility did a good job at infection surveillance and control during the pandemic and I appreciated the ongoing communication regarding infection rates. Dad expressed that he noticed a decline in staff morale and many of the regular faces had been replaced. He was becoming concerned about living in the facility and his overall safety. He reported some errors in medications. I was able to get those resolved. Regarding medications, Terracina primarily uses Mother's Pharmacy for their Assisted Living residents. Florida requires "blister packing" for assisted livand Mother's performs this function. It was my experience that Mother's costs were inflated and there were times where Mother's over billed for medications. Many of the new care attendants have very limited English language skills.Combine that with the mandated mask wearing,Dad was having difficulty understanding those charged with caring for him. This was causing frequent misunderstandings and was making him uncomfortable.Notably, state and federal laws require care facilities to employ  caregivers who competently speak the language of their residents. Dad was complaining about the decline of food service, including the quality of the food and food selections, portions of food and the decline of service in the dining room.  In addition to the cost-cutting changes in the facility, the new management began increasing the daily rates during the throes of the pandemic. The new management team is less engaging and not as resident-centered as previous management teams. In lay terms, the warm and gracious feelings had disappeared. Another big concern that came to light during my first visits during the pandemic was the lack of privacy my father experienced when it came to his personal life. All residents in assisted living and independent living have private apartments with locked entrances. At this time, Dad is a widower and had the right to socialize with whom him he wanted. Many of the care staff were actively  involved in giving him advice about his friendships with women at the facility, going so far as to tell my Dad actions he should take. This was distressing for him as he felt his personal life was being discussed and gossipped about. He was embarrassed and felt betrayed by the staff. It was so distressing to him that I  had to have a conversation with Irene Mursoi, the DON, to direct her staff not to be actively involved in Dad's private life. This activity was so pervasive, unprofessional and shocking that I am still shaking my head. This activity may have violated HIPAA laws as some of the discussions the staff were having involved areas of Dad's health care, including his emotional health. By November of 2021, Dad was begging me to move. He stated he did not feel safe due to the constant change in caregivers and nurses and his inability to understand many of the caregivers. His comments combined with what I witnessed, led me to actively begin looking for his new home closer to where I live. Hopefully the few remaining "older" staff can help Terracina become iconic once again. Bonnie McDaniel

The activities program is wonderful and there's live music almost daily. This is the only thing that is truly "Platinum Service" at Villa! My concerns were with the assessment skills of the nursing staff and the uncaring, rude demeanor of several caregivers. They remain employed despite numerous complaints from family members! Nursing Administration was mostly defensive when issues were reported. The dietary director was initially reluctant to accommodate my husband's changing needs and then when changes were made, they were inconsistent. We, as advocates, trust that our loved ones are being cared for by knowledgeable people who will recognize ACUTE changes in a resident's physical and/or mental status and take proper action in a timely fashion. The facility is beautiful but don't base a decision on this alone. Also, private duty care is almost a requirement at Villa as your loved one's disease progresses.

The facility is physically beautiful but there are bug and cockroach issues that exceed the normal expectations for living in Florida. There was massive turnover during our tenure with three different nursing directors in the nine months we were there. Weekend coverage is sparse. Communication was non existent unless there was a fall or a crisis. Staff do not introduce themselves and caregivers constantly change so it is hard to know who to approach when there is a question or concern. Although I gave this feedback on multiple occasions, no change occurred. Administration does not treat their residents with the dignity they deserve and does not confer with family regarding care decisions. They are quick to flex legal authority rather than work with family to find solutions. No memory care will be perfect and the Villa at Terracina was excellent in many ways, however their shortcomings overshadowed the positive in our experience. This is a difficult journey for those suffering from dementia and their loved ones. To anyone reading this I wish you and your loved ones the best.
