This is the worst Galbi Jjim I've eaten!! The meat definitely tastes old and chewy. Look at the color of the meat my goodness it's so upsetting. I know you can't make it in 20mins but this has probably been sitting in their freezer for months. They couldn't even heat it right. The temp was almost hot, it's like "ok that's good enough". I am upset that they had the nerve to serve it and upset at myself that I just surrendered and just ate it. I should've taken it as a clue when I asked the server if she recommends the spicy over regular galbi jjim and she just gave me an awkward smile and said nothing. It wasn't about language barrier she just had nothing to say. This is a clear example of not taking pride in what you do. We ate what we can, granted we were hungry and the plate of misery is $30. But it's a very sad experience. Almost everything on this menu is bussin bussin and that's all you need to know. My fav is the Haemul pancake and the Sutbul Bulgogoi Jaengban Guksu. Pancake had perfect crunch, texture, and generous amount of seafood (best I've had at a restaurant) and the cold noodles is very fresh with crunchy vegetables, and smoky savoring bulgogi. What stands out about Dish is definitely the interior decor. The high ceiling with wooded beams and matching wood throughout is very inviting. The space is very open, bright with large windows, and clean. I dined in for a weekday lunch date with my sister, and it was not too crowded. I love that on their menu, they have the traditional Korean soups and dishes, but I am coming back to try the Korean tacos and short rib burgers. Today, I tried the seafood pancake ($12) and the seafood tofu soup and grilled chicken lunch special ($18). Like with most Korean restaurants, the meal also came with several side dishes (see picture). Although the soup was salty, it had good flavors and was mostly filled with squid, some clams, and one piece of shrimp. The grilled chicken was tender and juicy, served on top of grilled onions. I really loved the seafood pancake; it is my favorite I've had so far. It has just the right amount of seafood and not oily. The sauce it comes with is superb. I really enjoyed their hot tea as well. Service was good, nothing exceptional or over the top, but our server got everything we requested and was friendly. Dish does share a parking lot with Food Terminal next door, and they are located in a plaza with City Farmers Market and other smaller stores. Parking is not an issue, but sometimes you may have to park further for busier hours. read more

Delicious food, great atmosphere, excellent service. This is a modern place with a handle on traditional Korean food. They have the best banchan (sides) of any Korean restaurant I've tried and they give free refills on them. I love the dolsot bibimbop and the bulgogi. My husband likes the spicy pork and the kimchi stew. You also get a yogurt drink at the end of your meal. They are tart but yummy. read more

Very spacious I had the kimchi bokkeumbap with spam ($14) and my friend had one of the burgers with fries. I can't speak for anything else on the menu but the bokkeumbap did not taste authentic at all. The presentation was on point but the flavor was so bland and it was so dry, it was definitely missing an ingredient or two. I probably ate about 1/4 of it and just couldn't eat any more. For $14, I'd expect something much more than what I got. The burger was much bigger than what we were expecting. I can't comment more on it than the presentation because I didn't taste it. The fries were nice and crispy though. A lady at the table next to us asked to try a fry ... so I guess it looked good! Haha. The side dishes weren't bad. Typical korean side dishes (pic included). We also had the fried sugar-glazed sweet potato wedges. You can't really go wrong with this & it was good! Listed as a dessert but I like to eat it with my meal. They start you off with the standard banchan to snack on while you wait for your order. Always appreciated! My table ordered the dolsot bibimbap, kwang yang bulgogi and Korean tacos. All delicious with very sizable portions that left us satisfied and full. Dish Korean is located in the same building as food terminal - it serves both authentic and asian fusion dishes and has beautiful interior design. We were seated right away for a weekday lunch and were given iced waters. The servers seemed very busy and was constantly running around, but they were very friendly to us. We ordered off of their lunch special menu. I got the A+B combo with seafood jigae and tofu/portobello steak. My boyfriend ordered the fried chicken sandwich. We were served a bunch of small banchans before our meal arrived. They had some unique banchans like potato salad, grean beans, and a tofu skin dish. We really liked these. My boyfriends sandwich came first. It was delicious! The chicken was friend perfectly, the slaw inside did not have a lot of mayo but was perfectly sweet and salty. I loved the fries!! They were thick but super crispy on the outside. Probably the best fries I've ever had tbh! My dishes came a while later (~6-7 minutes after the chicken sandwich arrived). The tofu steak was good, the seafood broth was very flavorful but a little too salty in my opinion. I was left thirsty all afternoon. Lots of vegetarian Korean food options! I really liked their banchan - very healthy probiotics for gut flora - fermented veggies such as pickled cabbage and pickled radish. The meal ended with a really cool yogurt drink. Another cool probiotic. Korean food is so nutritious. Very good service too. The Korean lady who works here is from Toronto and speaks fluent English. The only downside was that the portion sizes were too big. I was stuffed after eating half an appetizer. I wish they had an appetizer sampler. I came to DISH a few weeks ago and I can say I was definitely pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! I live pretty close to the restaurant have been meaning to try this place and I'm so glad I finally did. The decor has that traditional korean setting and actually prettty spacious! The restaurant was very clean and well-kept. The food was SO delicious, we ordered the galbi tang and kalguksu (the normal one not the spicy seafood one). The kalguksu had a great flavor to it and the portion was HUGE. When the galbi tang first came out, I tried the soup before putting any salt & pepper in it and it was extremely salty to the point I could not take another sip. I told the server immidiately and she was SO SWEET about the entire thing. She apologized profusely and thanked me for letting her know since other customers had also ordered the galbi tang and she wanted to prevent the same thing from happening. I really wish I had gotten her name but she was a middle-aged korean woman who spoke Korean and English perfectly! We ordered steamed Korean dumplings (mandu) for an app which were ok but not memorable. Not anything I would crave. For my meal I went with stir fried squid, served with rice and noodles. The squid was a bit too chewy for my taste and not cleaned well. Still had the stringy skin on, which made it a bit awkward to eat. Also, the dish was quite salty. When you eat food from your past it should leave you a taste of comfort and home. Growing up with in a strict taekwonso family with korean best friends this style of food was mostly all I knew. I can cook most off it too, but like fried chicken you just can't always do it like your grandma. Dish was exactly what I had been missing from more than a decade of searching. All the starter bowls were spot on and I loved how they put mostly leaves in the kimchee bowl cause I like to wrap it around my steamed rice. We came in at the tail end of the lunch menu around 2:45 so the place only had a few other customers. Needless to say service was great which is important when eating spicy foods. Speaking of food we both opted for the lunch combo soup and main dish. I got Kimchi-jjigae soup and bulgogi and Matt got Budae-jjigae and Sutbul Dwaeji Gogi Gui. All of which were amazing. The Kimchi-jjigae broth was so good I maybe could eat it everyday. Matt's soup was a little on the too spicy side but still tasty. He also enjoyed a ginger drink that was sweet and complex. This is definitely one of my top favorite Korean restaurants. I've ordered many many items here and each have been absolutely delicious! I love that these entrees come with complimentary banchan, which are small side dishes like kimchi, fish Cake, broccoli, potatoes, etc. Sundubu jjigae - tofu soup with rice. I would rate this 8/10. The tofu stew is decent but not as great as jang su jang. Kimchi jjigae - spicy kimchi stew with tofu, vegetables and choice of meat. Comes with rice. 10/10. So good. Comes with plenty of kimchi, great broth and I typically get it with pork. It comes with tofu as well. Budae jjigae - spicy kimchi stew with spam, sausages, rice cakes, and vegetables. Comes with rice. 9/10. Always great as well! It comes with lots of spam and sausages in their house made spicy broth. I wish they had more rice cakes though. Deducted a point because sometimes they only fill the carton just half way for takeout orders. Jjampong kalguksu - spicy seafood soup with thick noodles. 10/10. Very spicy! Love the thick noodles - tastes very authentic. Comes with plenty of fresh seafood. Very filling. Gom tang - ox bone soup with rice. 8/10. Pricy and delicious but their other entrees are better. The restaurant was quiet, rustic, and felt pretty homey but a lil modernized. Not like industrial, hipster modernized but not old AF. We were seated by a hostess and menus were given to us by our waiter. Average prices were in the range of $10-$15 with the more special dishes being $18+. I liked how their menu showed their top sellers to help me narrow down my choices. Lil banchan dishes were also given: kimchi, jicama(or radish?), fish cake, mash pataters, vinegary onions, and broccoli with some red sauce. kimchi was aight. not enough funk imo. I ended up choosing the sutbul bulgogi jaengban guksu and my friend got some bibimbap. if ur uncultured ahh isn't familiar with some Korean dishes you gotta at least know what bulgogi is, and what it is, is that IT'S GOOD. jokes aside, my dish was spicy rice noodles topped up with mixed veggies including bell pepper (for that color pop in yo face), bean sprouts, shaved carrots and purple cabbage, and beef. My friend ordered the same thing but instead of cold noodles it was hot rice. Dish boasts exquisite entrees and special desserts in a clean, bright, and modern yet artistic atmosphere. The food: Attached are pictures of the menu and the dishes that I had. I was tempted to get the soups, but instead went a dry route. We had: - Sutbul Dwaeji Gogi Gui, which is a spicy, char-broiled pork dish that comes out sizzling on a skillet. I had this for my entree and was not disappointed. The pork was delightfully sweet and spicy, tender and juicy. However, the meat is pilled atop caramelized onions, and the former is so flavorful that it overpowers the onions, reducing them to just added texture, lacking solid flavor. Also, the pork is good, but it tastes quite similar to what you'd get at a Korean BBQ restaurant. For $18.00 for this entree alone, probably not worth the price tag considering you can go to solid, all-you-can-eat K-BBQ restaurants for $18-20. But it was still delicious nonetheless. - We also had the Sutbul Gogi Jaengban Guksu, which is one of their bulgogi with noodle dishes. This was really a great dish with a lot going on. For $13.00 -- I'd 100% recommend this dish. You get a solid portion of meat, along with other vegetables and really good noodle base. The sauce has a special, slightly sour flavor that is really good. Highly recommended. - For an appetizer we had a Cheese and Egg Mari. While the dish was good, it wasn't special. It seemed like just an egg omelet with ketchup and cheese on it. I saved most of it and had it subsequent mornings for breakfast. If you're going for some special Korean flavors, I wouldn't recommend this dish. - The small side dishes, which I value a lot, were incredibly underwhelming to me. There were only six dishes, and the flavors were somewhat uniform with each. The fish tofu was a little too tough and cold, the potato mix was good, but again served a little too chilled, and the others just didn't "wow" me as they have at other Korean restaurants in the area. I left feeling like this was my least favorite part of the meal, where typically I'll leave a korean restaurant valuing it as my favorite part. - The baked fish pastry desert (don't worry, there is no actual fish, they are just shaped like fish) was SUPERB. I'd recommend getting an order of six, and asking for 3 of them as custard, and 3 as red bean. They are both awesome in their own, different ways. Highly recommend this dessert -- I wouldn't leave without having it. They come out warm to hot in temp., and are sweet, soft, and creamy on the inside (especially the custard). The ambiance was good. I really like the interior design/architecture. As mentioned, it was clean and modern, but gave the feeling of being traditional at the same time. Really liked their design choice here. The service was solid. No complaints here. I did have to ask for things periodically, and it wasn't busy, but they always came quickly. The meal didn't take long to prepare either, but the desserts will, as they take a little while to bake. Parking is good -- just don't part in the designated spots for the farmer's market, as it seemed like there were farmers market employees out watching for that. But it is a big lot -- there are plenty of spaces. Overall, I'm a big fan of dish. Do they serve the "best Korean in Atlanta"? Maybe not. But they have entrees that could compete with the best around, and their desserts are special and delicious. I'd have to go back and order different dishes to make a better assessment. If we can give more stars we would. My daughter was in the mood for kimchi fried rice, so we were debating where to go and happen chance came to Dish. Oh my... we go out to eat a lot and still my daughter says this was the best meal ever. My picky son also love loved everything. We ordered many kinds and here goes our review: Lucky pockets: cream cheese filled fried wontons. Wouldn't think to order but the warm cream cheese and the crispy shell, the sweet and spicy sauce was a welcome appetizer Dduck-kko-chi: the fried rice cakes smothered in sweet and spicy sauce. I didn't even get a bite cuz my kids finished it. They say it was really good Oh-jeol-pan: its like a thin mini pancake with 5 kinds of veggies. The 9 kind version is known to be a part of the king's meal from the Chosun dynasty. This is my favorite cuz its healthy but still so yummy. Wang-Kalbi-tang: clear beef broth soup. Very well done. We've had this in many other restaurants and this was up there. Love that it wasn't salty which is a common mistake. Cheese-bul-dak: spicy chicken topped with mozzarella cheese. Wasn't too spicy for me even though its supposed to be a spicier level than other spicy dishes on the menu. Still good! Kimchi shrimp fried rice: the presentation was lovely on a hot plate. My daughter was happy because it didn't disappoint. What I noticed is that some places will smother it in lots of butter and greasy bacon, but this fried rice came across healthy. But still good ;-) After my kids were stuffed and super happy, we were offered yakult (sweet yoghurt drink) which got my son super excited. When the owner found out it was my daughter's birthday she made fish shaped bread filled with nutella and sang happy birthday with a lit candle!!! Such a sweet gesture. What a wonderful evening!!! When you walk in, you see this clean, refreshing, brightly-lit restaurant. Everything looks so new and clean. Even the outside looked nice thanks to the new, renovated shopping center it was located in. I liked how everything looked so bright and clean. Everything looked lined up nice and pretty. Even their menus and the photos of their food. The menu was bright, colorful, and had beautiful photos of the food. I have to admit, the menu made the food look delicious. They recently came out with their KFC- Korean Friend Chicken; so I had to go and try it. They have two specials so far (as of Oct, 2017) with their fried chicken: $20 with soda or $24 with beer. We just had it with water. So that came out to $18. You could choose between spicy or no sauce. Or you can do half and half. We chose the half and half option. We also ordered their JapChae and Mandu for appetizer. As we waited, they brought out their banchans. They lined it up all neatly on the center of the table. They also looked beautiful. The banchans we got were kimchi, pickled daikon, mashed potatoes, fish cakes, and broccoli. Then we waited again... and waited. We must have waited at least 30 minutes to get our food. They must have tried to catch a live chicken and de-feather it or something. I was excited to pick up my piece of KFC. When I bit into it, it had a bit of crunch. It didn't have that super-crunch/crispy skin I was hoping for. The meat was a bit juicy. It had a mild, salty/peppery flavor. I could taste the oil they used on the skin. But overall, it tasted like any old fried chicken, not Korean Fried chicken. The spicy version was better. Because of the spicy sauce, it made it messy to eat with your hands. If you're skilled with the art of chopsticks, I recommend using it to eat your chicken. Even though the chicken was okay, the other dishes tasted good. The Japchae had a nice, sweet and savory flavor. It came with its own tongs, which were hard to use. If you're not shy, just grab a bunch with your chopsticks. The mandu looked big, plump, and juicy. It came with some soy-based sauce. It tasted how it looked: big, plump, and juicy. I liked it. For dessert, they gave us those little Yalkult drinks. I thought that was a nice touch. I think the food tastes good here. They had slow service--I have to knock a star off because of that. I wouldn't recommend their KFC. But I would try their other Korean dishes. Not bad! I went to Dish for a Saturday afternoon early dinner with friends for the first time, and was excited to give it a try. As we walked in, Dish is a very open, bright and vibrant looking restaurant, that houses a fair amount of people, and has private rooms as well on either side of the restaurant. After being seated and checking out their menu, I ordered their Sutbul Bulgogi Jaengban Guksu for 1 ($14). The bulgogi came with spicy noodles and fresh veggies including carrots, red cabbage, bean sprouts regular cabbage, mint, red pepper and sesame seeds. The bulgogi, and the dish itself was more on the sweeter side, and while it was listed as spicy, it just barely was. The meat was tender though, and was cooked well. Banchan hit the table fairly quickly and included pickled cucumber, kimchee, tofu, radish, and a macaroni side i'd never tried before. Special note, the little tofu strips (I guess that's what they were) were fish based, so if you have an allergy like me, beware. One of the things I wasn't a fan of were regarding the banchan. When the place is busy, they run out of things, so we only got one small side of the macaroni dish. Popular mainstays of banchan, like japchae were on the menu as ordered items, and not for free (first time i've seen this). Another thing you should note is Dish ain't cheap. I'm not expecting door buster cheap deals necessarily, but most dishes will run you $15 or more, with your average appetizer being not far behind that price point. You can get a nice tab going fairly easily if you aren't paying attention to what you're ordering. Customer service was nice and informative, giving me microwave tips on my order (i.e. don't...because it wont taste the same afterwards), and I appreciate those small touches. Located right across from the City Farmer's Market and directly next door to Food Terminal, Dish parking problems will only be directly in front of the store. You'll always find a spot, but you just may have to walk a bit. Getting in and out onto Buford hwy was fairly easy, so no issues there as well. Quality food, excellent small dishes for sharing (they will refill!), and authentic atmosphere. The ribs are fantastic (I order them every time) and my toddler loves that there are french fries on the menu! Also, their fried tofu is perfection! Even a picky 3 year old will eat tofu when it's perfectly crisp without a ton of breading and served with delicious dipping sauce! Laid back but polished interior. Tables are set a nice distance apart from one another - I love to not feel like I'm on top of my fellow diners. Only reason it doesn't get that fifth star is service can be slower you'd expect. The folks that work there take their time with tables and don't circle back to refill water or small plates as efficiently as they could. read more

This is one of the cleanest and best Korean restaurants in the Doraville area. I ordered the beef tofu soup and the tofu with mushroom steak. Both were very good. The only thing was the beef in the soup were really chunky and had multiple pieces stuck together. Overall the soup was very flavorful. If you are a vegetarian definitely give the tofu and mushroom steak a try. It was delicious and cooked in a sweet savory sauce. Service was exceptional!!! Our server and this other lady in the front were really nice. They would constantly check up on us and bring us more tea and napkins. Etc. I happened to stumble across a post on instagram about this restaurant and learned that the restaurant was designed and constructed by the owner's husband, who is an architect, which I thought was really cute! -seafood pancake: super crispy and filled with seafood, paired with a lemon soy sauce. One of the yummiest seafood pancakes I've had! Came with 5 big pieces. -braised pompano(can't remember what the actual name was, but it was the spicy braised one, not the pan fried one): Very fresh-you could tell they didn't use a frozen fish. Drenched in a sweet and sour sauce and came with chunks of potato and radish. Pretty flavorful-good, but I personally think my mom makes it better. -gomtang: the oxbone soup was very flavorful and the saltiness was perfect for me. Also had noodles in it. Service was excellent! Overall, I would say this restaurant deserves a solid 4. Definitely on the pricier side. Very nice decor and ambience though-somewhere I would treat my clients to lunch to. Nothing bad to say about this place besides dishes being slightly overpriced, but just didn't feel like it deserved a full 5 stars... read more

I dunno... this place just didn't do it for me. Next to Food Terminal location wise. Parking is excellent. Even with a rush hour going on, you'll find a spot... may have to park further away sometimes. Space - Compared to Food Terminal, it is way smaller. But compared to Mings (down the road), this place is bigger. So, I'd say Dish is medium. Service - Was ok. Food came out at a good pace but servers were kind of a miss. Took awhile to get our checks and waters werel not filled. Food: Banchan is OK. Not a hug fan of their selection. Budae Jigae - This was SOOOO greasy. Ick. I got super sick the same night/next day. Good portion and ingredients but something was very weird in it. I wouldn't get this. Kimchi Jigae - Kimchi in this was not very good. It was pretty tasteless. Good portion + other ingredients, but just didn't hit the post with the main item. Kimchi Pancake - This was great. Tasted almost like my mom's. I'd get this again. Japchae - Almost like stir fry-- too greasy. Bu they do give a lot of noodles with this! My friends have said the bulgogi stew is excellent.... that'll be my next try! read more

I loved this place! This was my first time having Korean food that wasn't Korean BBQ. I loved the appetizers I gobbled them up. I got the bulgogi soup which was so good on a cold day and my fiancé got the beef kimchi fried rice with cheese, mixed right in front of you and I had a few bites, so good! read more
