Dish is located in a strip mail where City Market and Food Terminal are. + Ambiance is open, clean modern dining room with bits of traditional touch like huge Korean influenced Barn doors. ++ Food here is a combination of traditional and fusion fare. Menu is large and is well done with pictures for every dish with both Korean and English names and descriptions. They also will accommodate if kitchen allows. Their portions are good size and one main or appetizer (as a meal) will suffice most of us. If you want to try many dishes, then you will have some left over. After the meal, they offer popular Korean yogurt flavored beverage (off the shelf) but it wasn't anything any of us liked. So I ordered mini fish waffles filled with red beans and custard and they were delectable! + Service was prompt and attentive. We came at off hour a little before 5pm so it wasn't super busy. We just happened upon this place, we thought it was new but it's been here for 4 years! On Buford Highway near a bunch of places! Cute place, clean, wear a mask and good prices. Excellent service. We got the hot sake and the soju along with kimchi pancakes and they were amazing! Also delicious sides. Tons of food options with pictures! The hamburger is AMAZING! Would definitely recommend you get that! Also got the bulgogi beef with white rice. And the sweet potato for dessert (it's good but not great). Been here twice. Once was during the COVID outbreak before every store had to shut down. When I was here the first it was amazingly great service and food was unbelievably great. Today I had a chance to be in the area so I remember this restaurant so I stopped by to grab lunch. They were on spot with temperatures check ups and mask required unless when you get your food with clean sanitary table. They have hand sanitizer at the counter and the bathrooms to use. We order our favor galbi Jim with a soondubu soup with seafood pancake l. Galbi Jim- last time we were there was 10/10. But this time it seem to have that taste were it was brunt a little. But we really enjoyed the Jim minus the brunt taste. Soondubu- was 9/10 reason? I thought it would some new compared to other soondubu shops. But it was worth it. Seafood pancake- is hands down the best dish to start with. Best in the menu overall. This is a must! Overall this place always satisfy me. Can't go wrong with tho restaurant. Prices here are a little more than what you would pay at another Korean spot down the street, which is probably why a lot of Koreans weren't dining here at the time of our visit ha! However, you can't beat the immaculate space and nice decor with tons of natural lighting. This is a spot I would definitely bring a guest to if they wanted to try Korean food for the first time or for a nicer Korean meal with better ambiance. The authentic Korean dishes tasted great (although a bit on the sweeter side) and they have enough fusion dishes to appease the non-adventurous type. Lunch specials are good at around $10 for authentic Korean soups, noodles, and rice dishes. They also have burgers and fries, which we didn't try at the time, but looked interesting. If you're feeling really hungry, they have $18 lunch combos which include a soup and protein selection. I opted for the seafood soondubu (tofu soup) and bulgogi combo while my friend ordered the spicy kalguksu (seafood noodle soup). We both enjoyed our dishes and really liked the complimentary banchans (side dishes). The only banchan we did not like was the mashed potato because it was overly sweet. Food is pretty good but the price is a little on the higher side for Korean food. Not sure about the lunch menu but the dinner dishes probably average around $15+. We ordered the Wang Galbi Ginseng Tang ($16) and Ginseng Galbi Gim (For 1 $22). Expect to pay around $50+ for 2 for dinner. Service is excellent, phenomenal compared to most Korean restaurants. They were very friendly and patient when we didn't know what we wanted. The replenished the side dishes and drinks very quickly when asked. No complaints, I was very pleased with the service. Solid. Not that we really needed more Korean restaurants on Buford Highway, but I really liked Dish. Located right next door to Food Terminal, it's definitely the better choice if you're in this plaza to grab a bite to eat. The restaurant is modern and clean, definitely a welcome change to what I'm used to finding on Buford Highway. Banchan were standard and nothing special, but fresh and tasty while we waited for our orders. I ordered the kimchi jigae on a rainy day, and it was perfect. It was chock full of kimchi and stew. It was a little spicy and I don't think the spice level was adjustable but I enjoyed it. My friend ordered the seafood pancake for us to share, which was perfectly hot and crispy- not too doughy but with the perfect seafood/scallion to dough proportion. When we saw the gold-fish pastry in the dessert section, we knew for sure we had to splurge. The fishes were small, but perfectly hot and crispy. I prefer the custard to red bean filling, but both were tasty. There's a more private back room that is perfect for larger groups. Be sure to ask about it when the seating is filled in the front dining area! I really like Dish! I'll have to claim that it may be one of my new favorite Korean restaurants on Buford Highway! You can find Dish Korean Cuisine at 5000 Buford Hwy NE, Ste B-203, Chamblee, GA 30341- this is the storefront adjacent to the very popular Food Terminal Malaysian restaurant in the City Farmers Market shopping center about a block north of the intersection of Chamblee Tucker Rd and Buford Hwy. There's plenty of parking towards the Farmers Market if there isn't anything near the building. You'll need to climb some stairs (or take the extensive ramp) to access as the side is elevated to compensate for the hill (the Farmers Market is in the valley overlooked by the streets). I had dinner with John F at Food Terminal and he mentioned that we should try Dish next, so this past Wednesday we dropped in, joined by Michelle T (both fellow Yelpers). The building and decor are refined and on the side of upscale - I was told that the restaurant had just opened 3 weeks ago as a soft-launch and that they still hadn't had a grand opening. Seated we were asked about drinks and opted for water. The menu is a double-sided laminated card with full color photos and descriptions - quite nicely done I thought. We decided to try as many things as we could in a single setting - with 3 people that's 3 entrees and three apps. I grew up eating Korean food and there was a lot on the menu I hadn't yet experienced - like the use of cheese. We had cheese growing up but I don't remember it ever being incorporated into the Korean cuisine - I'd call this restaurant Korean Fusion due to this. Kimchi Jeon Appetizer - Kimchi Korean Pancake - this looked a bit different from the photo and appeared to be from about a 10 inch pan - you get 6 slices - there's quite a bit of green in the pancake - not sure what that is as it didn't seem to add much to the dish (other than color). Growing up this was one of my favorite mom dishes - it was good but not great - mostly due to the kimchi not being pungent enough. The restaurant is new and I think they need a bit more time to ferment their kimchi so this should improve. The consistency was a bit loose - I think they need to add a bit more batter. This is served with a bit of soy/mirin mix for dipping. Lucky Pocket - A crisp wrapper filled with cream cheese - this was unexpected to me so of course we had to try it. These were a bit like mini-crab rangoons. Tasty and I liked them, but unusual to me so I'm not sure if other Koreans would like them or not. Pan Fried Mandu - these are traditional Korean dumplings (there's a typo on the menu describing them as Kimchi Korean Pancake). These were quite good - my mother would add pork or beef to hers but I liked these quite a bit as did my two dining companions. This is served with a bit of ponzu-like sauce for dipping. For panchan (the pickled side-dishes) we were served five - most of the Korean restaurants close to inside I285 serve 7 (not sure why the custom is to serve them in odd numbers). I hope they get to that point but once again it takes some time to prepare these pickles. As already noted, the classic napa cabbage version needed a bit more fermentation - that should fix itself within a few weeks with the weather turning hot. For entrees we wanted to maximize the experience with three different types of meats. Spicy Suk-Galbi for 2 - Char-broiled Angus short rib beef marinated with spicy house sauce. This was downright delicious - a pile of thin-sliced marinated melt-in-your-mouth beef. My favorite of the entrees. The spicing and everything about this dish was perfect and the quality of the meet superb. You won't typically find something like this in most restaurants - it's well worth the price. Kimchi Bokkeum Bap with shrimp - Kimchi fried-rice with your choice of bulgogi, spam or shrimp on sizzling egg and topped with cheese. This looked really interesting - it was a bit like the rice-om dish you can find in Japan but without the ketchup. The cheese really adds a different, more omelet-like quality to the dish. Our server hand-mixed it for us at the table. Cheese Deung Galbi Gui - Baby Back Pork Ribs marinated with spicy house sauce and Mozzarella cheese. I loved these - the only complaint was that they were slightly dry. The marinade, coating and topping were really fantastic. I'm not too sure about the cheese - the pan is over a small fire but it wasn't enough to keep the cheese wet for dipping. Overall still exceptional. When we were finished (and somehow we ate pretty much everything) we were given complimentary custard-filled, fish-shaped donuts that were napalm-hot - careful with them or you will burn your mouth. Also a small bottle of sweetened yogurt drink. The service was exceptional. While the prices were higher than the surrounding Korean restaurants (15-20%) the quality of everything we had was really exceptional. I hope that doesn't change. Ordered a seafood pancake ($12) to start and it was probably one of my favorite pancakes on Buford. It was crispy on the outside, thick with ingredients, and came with great sauce. Even though some areas can use some improvements, I highly recommend trying out Dish Korean Cuisine. We had better options in other Korean restaurants. * Appetizer: We ordered kim chi pancake. It is not extremely spicy and it is served with a sauce with lemon. It is OK, though not outstanding. * Entree: - Kim Chi Fried Rice: Wow, this serves with a beautifil presentation. I am impressed. The taste is great, not overly spicy. Decided to check this place out after seeing such good reviews. Buford Highway is just bursting with ethnic cuisine, and this Korean restaurant can hold its own. The owner recognized us, and thought she might be a neighbor of mine. I thought there was no way that was possible, because I live quite far from Chamblee, but turns out she was right. Small world! She was very sweet, and service was very good. The ambiance has a trendy feel to it, and looks brand new. They are just shy of 4 weeks from opening, and said they are still in "soft open" mode. The menu was double sided with some pictures to accompany the descriptions of the items. Starters were the typical Korean fare, with kimchi and cucumber. Missing was the sesame flavored noodle, my favorite. The kimchi was good, slightly spicy and sweet. I decided on the bibimbap, and opted for the stone bowl, which keeps the entree hot and sizzling. I love how the rice crunches up in it. The bibimbap was really good, and I'd say it's one of the better ones I've had in the area. I ordered it with tofu, and that was a great compliment to go inside the dish. For dessert, we had a complimentary sweet yogurt drink that tastes like sherbert ice cream. That was really good and the perfect ending to the meal. If you like Korean food, I'd say this place is definitely worth checking out. read more

Overall...delicious! I've driven by this place for a while now. My thing with korean food is that I can usually cook it at home, so I don't really eat at many korean restaurants. I've noticed they advertised as "The Best Korean Food in Town", so of course I had to come and see what it was all about! Service: it was two servers and (I think) the owner going about the restaurant when we came in around 12:30 for lunch. It wasn't busy with only 3 tables filled up with patrons. We were quickly seated and given time to go through the menu. Pretty friendly service. Food: they serve lunch combos Tuesday-Friday. My sister got the Buda Jigae (Korean army stew w sausage, spam, and tofu) Combo with Sutbul Dak Galbi (sweet marinated chicken) for $18. The portions were smaller since it was a lunch combo, but it was very filling. She finished her meal and we still had leftover soup to take back home. I had the Dak Kang Jung Burger ($9). It was a thin fried chicken cutlet with a massive heap of shredded cabbages on top and sweet/mild sauce) When I first saw it I felt that the ratio wasn't fair. But then after my first bite, I took that thought right back. Delicious! Fries were crispy and great! I was very impressed with both meals. This place serves both traditional korean food as well as Korean fusion dishes. So regardless of what you get, you are tasting a little bit of korean cuisine in any dish you get. Interior: a brightly lit establishment with wide spaces in between the tables, so you don't feel too squished up next to other parties. The wide windows brings in natural sunlight that makes this place feel so modern. Yet the traditionally decorated doors and decor on the wall makes you feel like you're in a sort of museum exhibit. This place isn't as big as food terminal next door, but with the high roof and large windows in no way does it feel cramped and small. 4/5- food was delicious! I'm actually very curious as to what my mother would say about this place. As she is a very proud korean woman who will argue with you that her cooking is better than anyone else's. I liked how there was both the option of getting traditional korean food that any korean household will know, as well as some fusion ones for those still timid of trying a dish they're not completely familiar with. *some options on the menu are marked as unavailable. I really wanted to come in and get the multi-grain drink (misugaru) as it is so refreshing in the summer but it was marked out. Well, let me start with the lowdown, I don't typically eat Korean food. So when my girlfriend suggested eating here, my stomach was already a bit skeptical. Dish sits off Buford Hwy, in the fold with a plethora of eating options. It's almost at the corner of Chamblee-Tucker Rd and Buford Hwy in the City Farmer's Market complex. There is a big parking lot for the entire complex, but you'll find that getting a close spot can become tough. We walked in and were greeted by the Owner, and then directed straight to a table. I loved the ambiance of the place, very casual and traditional. It's also very open seating, and natural sunlight coming in through all the windows. I was actually caught off guard when the Owner said she recognized us. My girlfriend and I run a ton, and train a lot together, so she knew us from that. I thought that was cool, and to hear about her business and her other job. Obviously, a lot of working hours put in! So let's go over the good: - The atmosphere - The service (the service was excellent, and not just from the Owner but from the entire staff) - The freebie appetizers (kimchi, pasta, cucumber, onions and a couple more) - My honey's dish (wish I had ordered that - stone bowl bibimbap) - The complimentary yogurt dessert with the meal What I didn't like so much: - My meal: Ttukbaegl Bulgogi. It was a stew in a hot pot that came with a side of rice. It looked great coming out but it lacked in flavor. It also didn't mesh well with my stomach and I won't go any further than that. - The view outside: they have a very large open concrete patio space they share with The Food Terminal but it's not much to look at since it's bare. That could use some jazzing up. Overall, I would still recommend this place to try out. My problem is I need to find something that sits well with me and that I enjoy. The ambiance and service in the resturaunt are amazing and the food and Side dishes came out pretty quickly as well. I ordered the army stew or budae jigae and it was just okay. Tasted too sour in my opinion, kind of like bad cheese or old milk. I know that sour kimchi is the best to use for making stews, but it just wasn't that great, and I ended up wishing I got something else. My boyfriend ordered the kimchi bokum bap and it was amazing. Literally perfection. Then as an appetizer we also ordered pan fried rice cake, which was also amazing. I have been to Dish Korean Cuisine about 3 to 4 times now and my favorite dish is the Galbi Tang. The Galbi tang comes with two big galbi bones with meat and clear broth with eggs in the broth. This broth is cooked with ginger and topped with scallion. I really enjoy this dish because I feel so warm and comforted after eating it. White steam rice and little sides comes with this dish, even if you order Togo. Definitely one of my favorite Korean dish and so I highly recommend! read more

And the tofu soup was kinda salty by itself, but perfect when eaten with rice. The portion is okay, not bad. But I wouldn't mind if there was more meat for the price. Ordering extra rice is $2, which is typical at most Korean restaurants, but still kind of annoying. Especially when there's 3 of us there and we're only given 2 bowls of rice. It also came with a side of rice, and dipping a spoonful into the broth was just heaven. Highly recommend! _ Dolsot Bibimbop $15 My bf got the dolsot bibimbop. It came out sizzling. Crispy rice on the bottom, great ingredients. Dolsot bibimbop is a standard go-to Korean dish when I try a new Korean restaurant, so while I was tempted to get it, I didn't. But I had a bite of it, and it was really good, really hot (temperature-wise, not necessarily spicy unless you added the chili paste). You won't be disappointed if that's what you end up ordering. All in all, a solid restaurant. There was an accident a few tables over. They were very quick to clean and sanitize everything. The restaurant itself is very clean. Staff is friendly. And food is top notch. I really enjoyed it. I was disappointed. Extremely disappointed. I have had Korean fried chicken before and I have made Korean fried chicken before and this was not good. Korean chicken, in my experience, has a distinct crunch factor, even with the sauce. This was not the case. Dish is located next to the infamous Food Terminal where close by parking is hard to come by but plenty, nonetheless within the International Market plaza in Doravillee. Interior is super nice and very gracefully designed with lots of open space and gives you the traditional Korean and harmonious look and feel. Right as you walk in there's a hostess stand to seat you, which is great! Inside, there's 4 rooms consisting of main dining room and 3 closed rooms that can be ideal for private parties. While there's plenty of seating, whenever I went, crowd is always minimal which has its positives as it seems that staff is pretty slim here at the moment. Some of my favorite dishes are... Gom tang - Has great depth of oxtail which takes long hours of cooking and comes with rice noodles inside Bossam - Clean taste of steamed pork with great radish kimchi Suk galbi - Usually get the spicy one which has a hint of kick with your beef Braised fish - Only had a taste but was perfectly seasoned and cooked fish Bulgogi fried rice - Ideal to sharing. Little cheesier than usual fried rice but delicious! Cheese pork galbi - Bit spicy for those that can't handle spicy but conceptually fun food by dipping ribs in cheese and eating it with your hands. Their spicy items do creep up on you so be warned. Overall their food is very refined with clean and slightly modern touches, but slightly on the pricier side for Korean food that I feel that may be the drawback. At the end of the meal, they've recently added yogurt but personally think sikhae would go with the restaurant well. read more

Extensive menu at reasonable prices（but not super cheap) and great portions. Delicious. They have everything from sundubu to bibimbop; vegetarian and carnivorous options. Clean, well lit, and ample parking. Oh and don't worry. You know how some Korean restaurants don't give you the best service if you don't look and speak Korean? No problems here. Pretty solid Korean home cooked style food. I had the spicy pork on the skillet and it tasted pretty similarly to how my mom makes it. Very clean and open interior, and the desserts were smack. read more

I really wanted to love this place, but Dish Korean Cuisine fell short on the quality of the food. Dish Korean Cuisine is aesthetically beautiful and has a sleek/clean feel. The building is fairly new, and you feel like you're in a fancy establishment. The prices are cheap and they offer the classic mini dishes of pickled delights. However, the main dishes were not up to par to the venue. We had ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap and the Gom Tang. The Gom Tang was the most disappointing dish. There were tiny shreds of meat that honestly looked/tasted like the waste scraps. Additionally there was nothing in this nice and earthy broth. The server had said there was a little bit of noodles, but they were gone after two spoons. It was a $12 dish of broth. The dolsot bibimbap had the same problem with the meat being very poor quality. The seasoning of everything was flat, and there was more vegetables than anything else. The dish is expected to have flavor from the side sauce that comes with the bowl. read more

Yummy Korean food! We happened to see this place and thought we'd sample some Korean food! What a discovery! We tried the Mandu (steamed dumplings), Kimchi Bokkeum Bap (Kimchi Fried rice with cheese - it was to die for!) and Sunubu Jjigae (tofu soup/ stew). All the food was very flavorful and fresh. Service was great. Great COVID protocols too. They did temperature checks upon entry. Will definitely be back! read more

With an aesthetic mixture of both traditional and modern decor, Dish definitely welcomed us with a classy Korean ambiance. The interior decor was captivating. The menu selection was impressive with both cultural Korean taste as well as a fusion of Korean-American entrees. I got to try the Korean Beef Tacos, Ddukgalbi Burger and the classic Cheese Eggrolls, which were absolutely amazing (the Korean Tacos were my favorite). The pricing is fair, and the service was top-notch. As a harsh critic when it comes to Asian food, I would definitely recommend Dish to all my hungry fellow Yelpers out there! read more

My family and I popped in for a quick lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We were immediately greeted and seated and given our menus to peruse the offerings. While I am not very familiar with Korean cuisine, the menu was easy to understand what exactly you'll be getting. The Banchan was very good! We had kimchi, scallion pancake, tofu, pickled/hot cucumbers...all delicious! We had the Gimmari (seaweed eggrolls) which were different than any other egg roll that I had ever tasted and for all the right reasons! It was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside...perfect!! I had ordered Budae Jjigae and it was delish! The broth had the perfect amount of spice to feel it (you can mellow it out with rice or the tofu included in the Banchan). There was the perfect amount of meat and veggies. I look forward to going back and trying out some other items! The pricing was a little high on entrees but I think for what we ordered, we did quite alright! read more
