Had a service call today on my Dish system and was so satisfied and appreciative that Ricardo came out to resolve the problem. Ricardo was the ultimate professional. He called 30 minutes prior and upon arrival was stellar in his customer service and knowledge. Ricardo asked me about the issue and looked at the main TV and equipment. Ricardo then looked outside at the Dish and transponders and told me he recognized an issue immediately. Ricardo installed a new splitter in a better location, adjusted the Dish and tightened everything. He utilized new cables as well. After that he checked the TV statistics and make internal adjustments on all TVs and bingo we has a much stronger signal and TV at all three units. A great value and top notch quality. Ricardo should be training all technicians as his knowledge base and ability to troubleshoot and explain the issue were phenomenal. Highly recommended! read more

After a decade of $150/monthly DISH bills(paid automatically and on time) we called Customer Service for a new remote. We talked to "Erik," a very rude and unhelpful representative. He said he could send us a new remote if we purchased his senior citizen "promotion" of $199/mo that would includes "free" ADT home protection. After going round and round, him speaking disrespectfully the entire time, we asked for our cancellation. He just hung up on us. He needs to be fired, and DISH needs to better train their reps if they want to keep customers. read more

I called the main number to sign up for DISH, having elected to leave Frontier. A woman who fast-talked like Emily Compagno high pressured me to sign up with Spectrum, telling me that DISH will handle Spectrum when DISH doesn't provide the service. When I tried asking several important questions, this speed talking again repeated this "special offer." When I told her that she already said all that, she rudely hung up on me. I called around noon PST from area code 310, last for digits 4437. After she hung up on me, I called Spectrum directly and signed up for service, which Spectrum provided within three hours. Customer service dept. was combative and didn't care about actual customer service. After 24 years of being a customer my mother is moving and called to cancel her service. Where she is moving to has much better options than Dish and she simply wanted to cancel her service. The CS rep would not accept my mother's request. She kept insisting that my mother "suspend"service and renew once she moved. I mean, she was insisting! I got on speaker with the CS rep and explained what my mother wanted and respectfully said we weren't interested in keeping or renewing with dish yet she still persisted. Finally I gave her props for trying so hand to keep us from canceling but restated that we wanted to cancel. That apparently pissed her off and then changed tone and became very combative. Our service was literally terminated at that moment instead of next week when we requested. Then we were told we would be charged for a shipping box to return the hopper box and that we were supposed to retrieve something off the satellite dish on the roof. Really! They wanted me or my 89 year old mother to climb on the roof and disassemble the dish receiver!!! WTF! Told her that wasn't happening. Then she stated we had to mail the hopper back to them. Fine but I wanted to take the box to a local to office. Apparently Dish has no local offices. At least that what she inferred. she insisted that it had to be mailed back via the box that was going to cost us $25.00 and she couldn't do anything thing further since the account was now closed. Man! What shitty customer. Especially towards someone that had been a subscriber for over 24 years. Absolutely do not recommend dish. read more

How do you give "0"? After 11 years of mediocre service it has stopped on our boat. They changed some satellites and WHAMM nothing... said just need to swap out box... for a wally, still nothing. the is getting signal. 4 calls on hold for 40 to an hour each time. 2 appts - 1st guy was an hour after the 4 hour window, second guy was there swapped box - no tv and left... call hold times = 4 3/4 hours, visits just short of 10 hours total - still no dish tv. currently on hold to cancelled going on 1 hour 40 mins.... boat dish is in ventura, its not like we are in the sticks... on to direct or starling. they lost another customer read more

Their customer service agents repeatedly lied to me that is the main issue. they always said yes we are going to get fox sports west back. then yes we are going to get bally sports. nope, didnt get any dodgers or la kings games unless they happen to be on espn or another channel a couple times a year. our bill started at 80, went up to 221 at one point. i called tried to cancel so theyd lower back to 90 and said thatll be good for 8 months. 2 months later its back up to 160. they will say anything to prevent you from canceling. when i finally cancelled the lady dragged it out for 45 minutes. They dont have bally sports network, and dish anywhere is not reliable. Their technician put the hopper in our garage because that was easiest for him and it would not always connect to our bedroom tv because of the proximity. they refused to do wiring through our attic said they would have to do it along the baseboards i said no to that. and so they charged me do use a wireless which did not work all the time. Everything about this company was disappointing the only reason i tolerated it is because life was too busy. ive had all the major cable carriers and dish has been by far the most dishonest and disappointing. read more

I've been a customer for eleven years and I'm moving and need to have the satellite dish removed since I live in a condo. They don't remove their satellite dish's. It's up to me to remove it or they can send one of their contractors to do it and they'll charge me a minimum of $150! I asked for a copy of the contract where it states that I'm responsible for it. The supervisor, Andre, in their customer no service department stated he didn't know where this was located on the contract. Needless to say I will never do business with them again. Guess I'll be hauling my 60 year old self up on the roof so I don't get fined by the association. read more

This is the worst time possible for Dish to have problems with a network. We have been deprived of all of our favorite shows on CBS, METV and several other channels. We are at shelter in place-Dish. wake up and supply what we pay for. I am cancelling as soon as I can find another provider that will come out during this mess. Dish, you stink. read more

Better than DirectTV but their dish anywhere feature is extremely unreliable.

They have ripped off my family having been loyal customers for 5 years. They have yanked our local channels for over a month and simply put by Reina operated Id 9HI and the extremely rude person on the phone before her...too bad. I run a successful home business and need access to the local channel. They could care less that i have paid my bill in 2 homes for 5 years without ever missing a beat and told me to suffer or pay a termination fee for them not providing the agrees on channels. I smell a class action law suit. How can you charge people for channels you don't provide and say oh well? I'm happily paying to terming this service and find a reputable company far far away from dish network. NEVER will I recommend ripping off companies as a business owner and in glad I'm pulling my money from this people who pride the self in doing so. I wish I could give 0 stars. read more

Bought a new smart tv which required all our "prehistoric" boxes to be upgraded. The service man "Jarred" went beyond the call of duty in upgrading us with all the latest in dish packages, new boxes, took a look at our computer set up providing us with much quicker service, spent time in our attic making sure all our connections were correct and safe. We also are saving more now on our monthly service bill. Jarred spent 4 1/2 hrs with us, he was extremely professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable in all Dishs latest technology. For any future service needs we will be requesting Jarred, and you should too!!!! read more

Just had a bad experience with customer service. I had an unexplained disruption to the sound on some stations. Customer service had me do a few diagnostics. During which the sound came back on. I believe the issue has something to do with the power cord. I requested a technician to come out. I was told there would be a charge. Since this is there equipment, I believe they should not charge me. When the customer service representative insisted on charging me to send out a technician, I told them I no longer wanted the service and to cancel the service. The customer service rep then said that he needed to transfer my call. He then hung up on me. Not a good experience. read more

dish network sucks . I pay to much for this service and can't even see my baseball postseason games .

They are very shady and dishonorable. They have lots of discretion to forgive charges, but only if you get really upset, so if you have the misfortune to have signed one of their contracts be sure to escalate any problems immediately or you will just waste your time. read more
