Simply awful - they a million rules to prevent you from booking. I could never use any of my points for 15 years and yet had to pay for HOA fees. The government should regulate this. read more

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Disneyland Vacation Club, and it was a mix of positives and a few drawbacks. Firstly, the resort's brand-new building was a standout feature, lending a fresh and modern feel to the overall experience. The outdoor bar was a delightful spot to unwind, and the pool area, with its enormous steamboat Mickey, was a hit with kids. The design of the pool area, complete with new reclining chairs, charming towns, and shade-providing umbrellas, ensured a comfortable and enjoyable space for relaxation. The small yet friendly workout gym was equipped with treadmills, incline machines, and a standout feature, a state-of-the-art information booth that offered guidance on workout techniques and correct form. However, the rooms, while clean, were on the smaller side, and the north-facing view left much to be desired as it faced the street. In contrast, the south-facing view was more appealing, offering sights of the Disneyland hotel and pool area. The accommodations themselves were pleasant and conducive to relaxation, though the price tag was on the higher side. Fortunately, there were some discounts available, and the resort's close proximity to downtown Disney and the theme parks added value to the stay. I stayed as a guest and briefly considered purchasing a room, but for now, I've decided to hold off on that decision. My Rating System: 1 Star* Made me toss my cookies, and I'm upset. I won't return. 2 Stars** It wasn't pleasant, and they need work 3 Stars*** it was ok but lacked in key points but has room to improve. I'll try it again. 4 Stars**** it was pretty darn good in all aspects but one! 5 Stars***** perfection in all aspects of culinary perfection and service, etc. read more

What a beautiful expansion at the Disneyland Hotel near Downtown Disney. The new building is spectacular with their own pool, bbq area, and so close to Trader Sams. I love the architecture and the small details that are designed for families of all ages. read more

This place is legit. It's like a home away from home in that you can save $ by bringing food/snacks for your kids. There's a fridge, silverware, dish-ware, microwave, and toaster. It's made to feel different than the other hotel rooms on site. Game changer for me as a coparent with 2 young kiddos! The pool is nice and was never crowded when we went downstairs - then again the weather wasn't the greatest during our spring break so ‍ My kids loved the Villas more than the Grand Californian, Disney Hotel, and Pixar Place. We stayed in room 1031 - this is the deluxe studio preferred view room. read more

I've stayed here twice now. The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel are so beautiful. The first room that I had was the deluxe studio. My husband and I stayed there. It was Sleeping Beauty theme. Th second time we stayed, it was our family of five. We stayed in a two bedroom villa which was Fantasia themed. It was super spacious. We had three kids under four running around so it was perfect for us. My oldest loved the Murphy beds. She slept in both of them. We hosted my father-in-law for dinner one night and having the huge table, kitchen area, and dining ware was so helpful. All the staff that we encountered was so helpful and nice. So far, we are big fans. Oh! You also can't beat the walking distance to the parks and Downtown Disney as well. read more

I have been a member since 1996 If you need to speak to an advisor forget about it. The wait times are incredible. Called at 9:01am on 7.24.22 the wait time was 29 minutes according to the recording. It actually was 2hr and 15 minutes. Just spent another 15 minutes waiting for administration today (7.26.22) and not even a time was given on the wait. Emailed the office, don't know how long that is going to take. Have to work, can't give up work time to wait hours. The RCI page and the interval international page is constantly down. Almost impossible to book because of the hit or miss on whether it is working of not. Then it says to call 1.800.800.9800 to wait hours to book. why call? Unless there is a effort to correct these issues, not a lot of value in ownership or worth the frustration. read more

I had such bad experiences with 2 of the guides until I found my guy, Tony Tatad. I signed up to do a tour via an offer of $50 I received from my Disney Visa credit card. The 1st rep was a quick over the phone tour of 10 mins in a call center in Florida and he was just like, ok ready to go? I thanked him and said I needed more information and he said ok and never called back. The 2nd rep was from the Disneyland hotel, I was walked over and got a presentation for some fast passes. She said she had just started with DVC, she had her real estate license and sold timeshares before, but as time went on, it was clear that she was ALSO new to Disney itself since she had never really been on a Disney vacation or frequented the parks. She didn't know a lot of things and was really nice, but I definitely didn't get the information I needed so I told her I'd think about it and to follow up with me since I knew the incentives were about to change (from my DVC friends who received updates and newsletters). She never followed up and I forgot about it until a friend took me to a DVC members Moonlight event and I met Chang. He and the rest of the team and just the entire group had me excited about DVC again and I told him about my experience, so he said he'll make sure that someone who had more experience and might be a better fit good will follow up with me. Enter Tony Tatad. His mom started DVC in Florida and he's been doing it since forever. He saved me from losing points $$$ fees because it turns out that the other rep "lost" my guaranteed points pricing. After some research, it was because she didn't call me because I was on a do not call list (even though I went to the presentation and asked her to call me) I had to sign an "opt in" form for them to call me. I emailed corporate and they honored the previous pricing (unheard of according to many people) and promptly signed up with Tony. Tony Tatad is part of what makes DVC awesome for our family! He's the epitome of Disney in my opinion. Happy to help, always with a smile, and so gracious! I've referred at least 10+ people to him and he's made all of them happy. Tony does this by following thru, caring about their vacations, and treating them like family; my same experience. My tip? Get yourself a rep that treats you like family and you'll be amazed at what DVC can do for yours. read more

I own 600 DVC points .... i bought them in 2010. All was well until about 2018 ... Ever since about 2018 I have not been able to use my points because all DVC DISNEY RESORTS ARE ALWAYS BOOKED UP My last 3 trips to Walt Disney world I had to pay CASH for my resort reservation. I have had to use my points on their cruises because their resorts are booked. They have sold more points than they have rooms !!!!! TOTAL RIP OFF !!!! AND already mentioned ... Beware DVC IS A SCAM! No worse than the telephone calls I receive trying to scam me out of my hard earned money. Unlike the telephone scammers I thought I could trust at least Disney! I was so so wrong. I'm writing this to make others aware of the unethical and immoral practices of DVC. In October I like many others were pestered as we walked the hotel lobby about going for a consultation. My brother and I met with Rene who was very nice and explained to us that we would be purchasing property in Hawaii but could use the points at any Disney resort worldwide. He clearly showed us how to use the points at the Villas at the Grand Californian or use the points which were a little higher at the Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier where we usually stay. My concern was I couldn't afford a trip to Hawaii often so using the points to our yearly vacation was ideal. It would pay itself back over the course of 5 years. All of this was clearly explained so I decided to join. What Rene failed to explain was that it is darn near impossible to get to use points at any Disneyland resort hotel. When I called to make reservations the rooms were not available. I then asked about the next day if I could call or go online. I was told yes. Well at 8:01 the website said no rooms were available. At 9am I called Customer Service and bingo, no rooms available. This is clearly a scam, bait and switch, get you in the door and slam the door on your rear. I checked the website and from March to October the rooms were only available (get this) on April 4, 7, 9, 15, 17, 25, 27. No consecutive days to use my points. I looked into canceling and getting a refund. Nope. You have to sell through a 3rd party real estate agent. Of which the property would sell for 8900 less than what the actual value was. So in the end for me to dump this scam it would cost me $17,885 and I wouldn't have even used one friggin point. All that money for nothing! Needless to say I have a call in to Rene to see what can be done. I know the speech will be well it is subject to availability. My family goes out to Disneyland once a year. Spends at least $5,000 on the Paradise Pier hotel for our stay. Going forward I will use a good neighbor hotel and not give them my money. You screw over good customers sometimes you have to take a stand. Thanks alot Bri (like cheese) for selling us nonsense in the Paradise Pier hotel. Now I am out 17 grand with zero to show for it. So to the people reading this review I am down on my knees. Giant Mickey hands joined in prayer begging you not to join this total SCAM! Shame on you Disney you should be ASHAMED!!! read more

It's not for everyone, but it's definitely for us!!! Family of 5, we became members in 2018 when our 3 children were 2, 6 and 7. Since then, we've have wonderful adventures and experiences at our home away from home with full kitchen, washer/dryer, and living room. It only took 4 trips to pay for itself and we've never regretted. The upfront cost and maintenance dues turns many people off, but that's the cost of ownership. Notice there is no email contact anywhere only a phone number I made a reservation yesterday I was on the phone for well over 2 hours. On top of that they booked me for 2 nights when I only wanted one. Also I am a Marriott owner - I recommend them never a problem and so many more options. I'm writing to express my complete disappointment in how the Moonlight Magic reservation system is. I tried to get a reservation for the upcoming Hollywood Studios event both by booking a reservation (even though I'm local) only to have it sell out. Then I tried for the general booking and the line closed after less than 360 people getting in (I know this because I was 8 away when it closed). A change needs to be made and the reservations should be for only those members and their immediate families. Letting 5 people per member allows non members to come to these events and leaves out paying members. I can tell you that I'll be making sure that everyone I know knows that DVC doesn't care once you sign the contract. I was planning in the future to buy more points buy really don't think I will. In fact I'm on the edge of selling my points outright because at this point I don't want to support a company that has shown they care nothing about their customers. I hope in the future you take my suggestion and remember that the actual members should be the priority. Thank you. read more

We stayed at Paradise Pier a few months back and I received in the mail a pamphlet for a short phone call resulting in a gift card, and then a meeting at DVC, also again resulting in a gift card. We travel a lot, the honey and I. Not enough that I feel like we do, but enough that when I relayed how often we'd flown/ stayed in hotels for the year I realized... it's a lot. I loved meeting with Jose to speak about DVC! He was super personable and really made feel un-pressured, but well educated on DVC. He was perhaps the best sales gentleman I've ever dealt with. I could not sing his praises enough. But sadly, the honey and I just didn't want to invest. In the end, I put a bit of time into the research and honestly, didn't feel like I would get enough back for what I put in, especially since I don't have a legal significant other. I also didn't like feeling boxed into what hotels I could stay at, my two most frequently used hotels weren't on the list, so quite a bit of my investment wouldn't go where I needed it to go. Perhaps in a bit, when I travel more and specifically want to visit DVC hotels - I'll chip in. But for right now, it was nice to learn a bit more about DVC and how they work :D read more

I booked a reservation for a 3-bedroom premium unit in Saratoga Springs in early October. This is a special family trip, with a few celebrations as well as my granddaughter's first trip to Disney. We have booked flights and have everything planned out for family meals and time in the common area of the suite. We also have plans at Disney Springs, and typically stay at Saratoga for the proximity. We have been loyal DVC members for 15 years, but have seen service and facilities declining. Today, I received a call saying the 3-bedroom was not available, and my only option was to go to a 2 BR pool/garden view and a studio pool/garden view at Boardwalk. The person who handled this situation ("Max," who declined to give his last name) was extremely curt. This was so far away from Disney's "world-reknowned" customer experience! I asked to speak to a supervisor. "Max" said he was a supervisor. I asked to speak to his boss. He said I would have to wait 24-48 hours. WHAT? What's more, there ARE Saratoga rooms available on the online hotel reservation platforms! This is not my fault; this is Disney's fault. There was no offer to compensate me for the hotel rooms (just: "If there is a difference in points, we'll credit them."); no offer for complimentary Disney tickets or dinners. Nothing. Disney customer service has declined so terribly over the years. And this experience has me on the brink of just selling my membership (which probably doesn't even matter to Disney anymore). I request that someone with some authority look at the hotel inventory and reinstate my original reservation. read more

I love disney. Long time fan. I know how to work the system in and out of the parks. But I'm so disappointed in the vacation club. Most of the properties are beautiful. But they oversell the memberships and you cannot use the points except at your home resort. that is crazy. I tried to book at exactly 6 months ahead, and everything is sold out. My wife and I did the vacation club tour three weeks ago with Roberto and we're very impressed at professionalism and high level experience. Planning to join, we visited Disneyland again, this time with adult son and his fiancé. They went on a tour this morning with "Lu" and the experience was horrible. Hard close tactics and profiling in twenty minutes. I'm a long time member and I have seen a significant drop off in benefits, communication and service. The last straw was on a recent trip to the Wilderness Lodge when they gave away my reserved room and forced me to stay in a less desirable room. I thought that they would at least offer some compensation for their mistake which they had done when it had happened once in the past. This time I was basically jerked off for two months by Kelly Zhupan in customer service who didn't respond to emails after promising a full investigation into whether I was telling the truth. It would've been better if she just lied and said that it never happened than ghosting me and never responding. We are very happy that we purchased a DVC membership! I don't even know what possessed us to do so oh so many years ago but it's wonderful having space, a full kitchen, multiple bathrooms, and a washer/dryer while vacationing at one of the Disney resorts. We've used our points at California Villas multiple times as well as Aulani, and DisneyWorld twice. Each and every time has been a positive experience from booking to arrival and departure. I can't even imagine staying in a regular hotel room while visiting Disney. The ability to have some real down time between parks is awesome! read more

We've been DVC members for 15 years and for the first few years we loved it. Memberships have become so oversold that it's very difficult to get a reservation. Our primary resort is Saratoga Springs which has gone through a beautiful update. A couple weeks ago, I tried to book a long weekend at Saratoga Springs for the end of January. I realize that's only 4 months out but Saratoga Springs is HUGE. Seriously, not one room for three nights? We have tried to book at other resorts as soon as the booking window opens but they are already booked up. Something is going on with vacation club and it's not good. We had hoped to keep this for when we have grandkids but I don't think it's worth it anymore. It might be time to sell. read more

We finally did it and bit the bullet. We're officially DVC members! It all started when we visited one of those Disney Vacation Club carts in Downtown Disney. Usually we just walk right pass these stands but there was something different this time around. For the life of me I don't know what it was but I just thought maybe it's meant to be. We spent a few minutes chatting and listening to a cast member's mini sales pitch about the wonders and benefits of DVC membership so on and so forth. We ended up scheduling an appointment for a timeshare meeting which would take up roughly about an hour of our time. We had the option to walk to the DVC office which was the meeting spot or get picked up via a golf cart like vehicle at an agreed time and specific location within the resort. I thought this option was kind of cool but being stubborn as I am we walked it. I figured we have legs so it wasn't such a big deal. This place is located on the west side, just outside of Disneyland Hotel Frontier Tower's south entrance. When we got in we were warmly greeted by the front desk staff and offered bottled water, beverages and snacks. I said to myself how do these people know me? The lobby was super nice and the décor was wow! Anyhow my wife and I were both open to this whole timeshare thing idea and figured we really have nothing to lose by attending a presentation. Shortly, we met with our agent representative Nelida or Nel for short. Our girls were given goodie bags that contained coloring sheets, crayons and stickers. They were then taken to a room, with our permission of course, where they had computers, toys and I gather a babysitter. That was awesome! Before the presentation started, we were again offered drinks and snacks. I'm really starting to dig this place. Nel introduced herself and gave us a little historical background on DVC and her experience with the company. There were multiple meeting rooms here and some larger than others to accommodate attendee party size. At first I thought there'd be like a hundred people in this thing and we'd all be crammed in a room like sardines as sales folks try to muscle their way in to our wallets. I was so dead wrong. It was far from what I've expected. No pressured sales tactics and no obligations. Our meeting room came equipped with an LCD flat screen TV and dvd player along with a super comfy couch. I'm assuming all the rooms here had this setup. It was like being in a real nice living room and felt like you're not in an office or a meeting room and so relaxed. It was more like you're at home. Basically all we did was watch a DVD that showed everything in-depth about the membership, points, locations, benefits and more. After the flick we had a question and answer session with our rep. It was soon thereafter that we made up our mind. At the time they had a special deal available for a home resort in WDW that we just couldn't pass up. Though membership can cost you an arm and a leg, it's not impossible. You have a down payment option or if you're stinkin' rich you can pay it off cash. Financing options are available and some tax write off too to help ease the pain. I went with the cheap man's option which meant a minimum down payment and financed. We felt so strongly that this was the way to go for our vacationing needs since we pretty much design and plan most of our vacations around Disney anyway. So the end result for us would be substantial savings in the long run which the whole family can enjoy for decades to come. This membership of course is by no means limited to Disney and its resorts. I could go on and on about the benefits, perks, discounts and how it's unique versus other timeshares but you should check it out for yourself the next time you're in the area. One of the highlights that was part of our meeting presentation was a walk-through in an actual physical floor plan model rooms of Disney's latest resort Aulani. This blew us away and wished we were there in the Hawaii resort. In addition, we were also given some fast passes for attending thanks Nel! Upfront...this is not a review of DVC but a review of the interactions we've had with representatives from DVC. We are big Disney fans and enjoy going as much as we can. And even plan to some day buy into DVC once our life strikes a stride. Every time we go to Disney we end up engaging with representatives from DVC who stage themselves at the parks and downtown Disney because they always have pins (pretty sure it's a ploy to reel you in and it works!) and we love pin trading! Sometimes it's a positive interaction, we let them know we've heard the spiel, we're not interested at this time and would like to just see their pins. We chit chat Disney for a minute, trade a pin or two and we're on our way. A few times, they're very persistent to the point of being REALLY annoying and then yesterday we had the worst interaction to date. A representative was standing next to the DVC kiosk in California Adventures and he had pins around his neck, not being able to resist we walked over to ask him if we could look at them. We then realized he was on his cell phone, so we tried to be polite and wait until he was available. At this point he became very agitated and down right rude. The whole interaction lasted a mere seconds where he hung up his phone, telling the person on the other line he'd call them back. The whole time after it was obvious he was pissed off, making a bitter face, sounds under his breath and we hurried on our way. Noting to each other that he was most definitely not 'Disney happy.' And that we had interrupted a personal call? If this had been our only interaction with DVC we'd be completely turned off and being giving it a 1 star review! Not sure if he was just having a really bad day or what was going on, but definitely added a sour note to what was otherwise a fun day. read more

My wife and I have been DVC members since 2014 and have never once doubted or regretted our investment. In fact, DVC has been a part of my life since I was 15 years old. Back in the 1990's, my parents bought into DVC within the first few years of its existence and it's been a part of my life ever since. Now my parents have their points and we have our own. We typically use our DVC membership every year and have had the ability to stay at a variety of resorts over the years. My wife and I have stayed at Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Bay Lake Towers, Polynesian, and Aulani. So much flexibility and value with our membership. Aside from the obvious benefit of staying at some of the nicest Disney resorts, we also receive member discounts and special access to member events. It truly feels like we're part of an inner circle of Disney fanatics. read more

I have been a DVC member since 1996. Over the years it has become more pricy, but I felt it was worth it because of the Disney Experience. In the past if you weren't able to use your points by the time they expired, you had the option to convert them to "RCI Points" (the timeshare org they were affiliated with) which lasted an additional 2 years. Over time I've taken advantage of that. In 2022 they switched from RCI to Intervol Intnt'l with much fanfare.This year because of family things I could not use my points but because RCI was no longer available I figured I would have to ose my points. I then found out that Intervol could do that too, which was never communicated by DVC or Disney, but I called to make the transaction. They said, Oh I'm sorry you're 2 weeks too late even though I still had 3 weeks left to my use year. I contacted a supervisor at DVC to discuss it and I was basically told there was nothing they could do about it because it was my fault for not looking it up on their website. They said try to use them by the end of Feb. when they expire and I explained we just had a death in the family and couldn't make that happen. Their response (without condolences) was "is there someone you know that didn't know the person who you could give them to"? At this point I'm thinking about selling because it is not the same company, or customer service, it was in 1996. read more

Too many times I've tried to book with my points and unable to. This last time I'm trying to book 8 months in advance and I still can't get what I want. A lot of money without a lot of benefit. My husband and I attended a presentation on Disney Vacation Club because we saw a kiosk at downtown Disney And as new parents with a younger daughter we are looking for family vacations for years to come. We took my parents along with us because they own multiple timeshares and I knew that they would be able to help us if we had any questions and they know what to look for and the right questions to ask. Our representative that helped us was named Awkmel. He was so friendly, personable, professional and was able to explain what Disney offers, go through how the points work, and also did a great job answering my dads questions...lol. I felt like I left with enough information to make an informed decision about this investment. Overall it was a great experience, very positive. Tried to book one room for one person for one night two months out and I was told they have nothing for me! There are 11 resorts in Orlando and thousands of rooms, but apparently none available for a Disney Vacation Club member. When I called to complain about that, they said I could always pay cash for a room. Seriously, does that make sense? My fees are paid annually and I have been a DVC member since 2010, yet I can only get a room if I pay cash like everyone else. It tells me that they have rooms, just not room for DVC members. It is so Not Cool and makes me wonder why I ever bought into this membership read more

I love Disney, but the club is scam. Once you become a member, they say you can use your points in all these exotic locations. Then go and try and make those bookings. Almost impossible! If you got the Disney website you can rent DVC apartments, so they are not just for club members. I have tried to book something a few months out, nope. We can put you a waiting list. So the Disney dream is a Disney flop. They are really good at getting you payment notices, but I never received one that stated my points needed banked. So I lost them. Email would of been nice! I stayed at Keywest in Florida once there was mold and so many things broken, it was nasty. I did let the manager know of my many concerns, not that they bothered to do anything. All of the other locations have been beautiful. The club is just not worth the money, exceptionally because its so hard to book something! read more

We have been a DVC member since 2010 when we bought into Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House but it was 2 years earlier that we meet with Nelida to truly understand what DVC was and after hearing what it was all about and the no pressure attitude from Nelida that was fantastic, we went home to talk about it and it was 2 years later that we called Nelida and said that we thought it maybe was time to join in on all of the fun and then 2 years later we added on more points. We have also gave enjoyed staying at DVC Grand Californian and Aulani. Nelida's knowledge of the Disney Vacation Club and no pressure attitude makes everything it so easy to and we will go back and recommend Nelida every time we are ask about DVC and who our representative is. We are members and have been member since 2008. We had a vacation planned for May in Paris Disneyland. Due to Covid 19 everything was canceled. which is fine totally understandable. What is not understandable is how our points have not been returned to our account and no one will answer the phone. We would have vacation planned before July and it is June 26th today. I am so upset this is expensive to lose these points. DVC takes it monthly fee out of my checking for time share maintenance. I try every day an busy signal. I email and the response is to call. What to do now. very frustrated. read more

I have been a member of the Disney vacation club for a short time. I feel that there are too many members and not enough services. I am very unhappy at this time because I was looking forward to a "member event" that I was unable to get tickets to even though I waited for an hour one day and thirty minutes the second day to sign up. My sales rep will not call me back. I tried to call member services and they had a 55 minute wait once and 45 minute wait the second time. I had no problem booking my home hotel, but I have not been able to find even one hotel available for seven days that is not at my home resort. I love Disney and have gone there up to four times a year many years, but this has been a huge, expensive disappointment. read more
