I am SO happy we came to Dissent. It has parking out front and immediately very welcoming and cozy when you walk in. The bartender not only helped us pick out 8 different and unique beers to try out in some flights, but she also recommended some other local breweries for us to check out while we were in town. Not all of the flavors were slam dunks, but it was fun to try some wacky brews and we did LOVE the brown ale as well as really enjoyed the Oktoberfest and Jalapeño beer. read more

Popped in on a Saturday afternoon and it was steady but not overly packed. They have a really large menu and I was able to sample a few item, but ended with a 5oz pour of BEER. One of the great things about breweries is that sometimes you have misses... your beer choices just weren't there THAT day... but with a constant rotation of new beer, you can come back and have a totally different experience. This is exactly what we experienced here... Our first visit was a miss, but being active with the Tampa Bay Ale Trail and the added perk of having a Groupon we decided to go back for a 2nd trip and see how it went. Redemption. 3rd trip back... same so we'll just chalk up our visit as a fluke. And they are pup friendly!!! Service has always been very attentive to us while there, so much so that I have to actually go up and grab Ben from the bar to bring over the drinks because he just starts chatting with the beertender and other patrons and I'm sitting there like "HELLO, I'm thirsty!!" Your typical micro brew spot of which there are a lot here in St Pete. Not that I am complaining at all because choice is the spice of life. Impressive selection of unique beer flavors like the pineapple wiesse, saison de pinellas parque or hazy mangover IPA. All really nice offerings. Well-Hidden Gem My friends and I were in the area and wanting to kill time. We found this place nearby on Google Maps but didn't know what to expect... the outside is really inconspicuous, with blocked off windows and just their logo on the door. Inside, though... wowza With popping lights, large screens for the sports fans, and a cozy ambience, the interior of Dissent makes you feel welcomed and like you've found a gem. It's absolutely at odds with the outside. The bartender was super nice and my friends and I got to try a lot of their local samples before deciding on one. Can't remember what everyone got but I do recall a Dole Whip drink that had a wonderful aftertaste of pineapple. I'm not a big beer/IPA drinker (as you can probably tell from this review lol) but I wasn't overwhelmed by the options and the bartender was able to pick out fruitier/sweeter drinks from the menu for my friends and I to try. There were a couple of other parties when we were there but the overall atmosphere was cozy and fun. Definitely have to stop by again when I'm in the area! read more

It's a smaller brewery tucked away in a strip mall in a strange part of town, but don't let that fool you. They have an extensive variety of beers, from their lager (named "BEER"), to sours, IPAs, stouts, etc. They always have something unique and different on tap. My boyfriend and I were looking for some breweries in the area and found Dissent on yelp. When we got there we remembered we had actually been here before a while back. It's actually the place I found out I was pregnant over a year ago LOL. Anyway, it's a pretty decent size and they have some TVs which my boyfriend loved so he could watch his college football, they also have some games that you can play as well. We played the shuffle board game and some dominoes and Jenga. It was a fun time. I obviously as always couldn't choose a beer so I had to get a flight, and my boyfriend went for an IPA with habanera. Pretty bold I thought. Then I got a red ale and a stout. I do have to say the bar tender gave me two wrong beers. I asked for a red ale and was given a really dark stout . Then I asked for a dark bourbon stout and got the red ale. Maybe they switched the taps or something. But the beers were good even though they weren't what I asked for. Great place to have some local craft beer. Located in a strip mall, their tasting room is very large and open, nicely decorated. The bar itself is limited in seating but right by the taps. They had 12 of their own brewed beers including their first special release beer, bourbon barrel aged imperial vanilla cream ale, 8.3 percent. Their ipa and double ipa were also excellent as well as the pumpkin spice berliner weisse. It was a bit empty when we were there, 4 o clock on a Thursday but more people came in as we were sitting at the bar. They have been open almost a year and have been making waves in the St. Pete craft beer scene. Waze took me to the wrong address, but Google Maps got me here with no problems. This is a cute place! They've got a ton of beers on tap and they are pretty darn delicious - they don't just specialize in one type of beer, they have sours, belgians, stouts, wheats, and others on tap for every type of beer lover. I came here with some colleagues after work on a weekday and it was fairly empty (around 4:30pm) - I could easily see this place becoming quite busy during the weekends. The picnic tables, open-air facility, and games around the room indicates a very laid back atmosphere. I will definitely come back for a teacher-happy-hour in the future! read more

A great addition to the St Pete beer scene with tasty beers on tap! My husband and I stopped in after finding a Groupon deal for two flights. He went with all IPA's and I did the breakfast porter, stout, pale ale and mango habanero IPA. The breakfast porter was hands down my favorite with hints of cinnamon, maple and coffee. I don't love IPAs but the mango made it sweet enough that I enjoyed it and then the habanero finish was good but not too spicy. My husband commented he enjoyed the IPAs but found them a little on the sweeter side. The brewery is in a little strip mall with plenty of parking and seating inside.
