Edited: this review is for the 6809 Nebraska Avenue Magnanimous. Beer is great. Atmosphere is spacious and family friendly with arcade games. However, left a star off for the loud, acid rock music. Makes the vibe feel a little unrestrained and unsettling, especially with youngsters roaming around. Outside is no escape because they pipe the music out there too. Too bad. read more

In town to enjoy the weekend. (1-5) Beer: 5 - I'm a hazy IPA lover, and this place delivers. Juice Lord was my favorite, and the Dark Messenger Porter was solid too. The brewery with the best beer in Tampa and the region. They don't have a food menu, but there is a food truck outside sometimes. If you like Hazy IPAs, or New England style IPAs, this is the brewery for you. The bartenders are all amazing, we love them all! My personal favorites; Juicelord (for beginners), Hazy Little Trees, Subliminal Haze, and a few other that aren't on tap right now. There's always something fun to discover. We also like the Seminole Heights location, it's much bigger, they have better food trucks there, and if you are super lucky you will see the cats roaming around the parking area. But this is our local one, so we love it and frequent it. It has a great vibe, you can always count on watching Bay Watch and Bob Ross!!! read more

Enter magnanimous brewery, easy street parking along Franklin, plenty of cool street art and a really cool patio to check out (see: when not lava). Inside was super inviting with loungy couches lining the walls, I saw not 1 but 3 other dogs equally lounging on the deliciously cool tile floor, everybody was vibing and chill, loved it. Came here today based on a recommendation from a friend. The venue was nice had plenty of seats and gad a decent amount of people for a random weekday. The beer selection was good but a little pricey for the ones I like. Parking is a little dicey unless you get a small handful of spaces and i mean like 5 spaces every thing else around this brewery cost. Wonderful brewery in downtown Tampa. I was here soon after it first opened a year ago and it's only gotten better and better. I am an IPA fan, I loved After the Rain: an imperial double New England IPA. It has wonderful flavor. I also appreciate a tasty stout and Head of the Table, Pecan Pie Ale Aged Prichards Double Chocolate Bourbon Barrels for 14 Months and Conditioned on Florida Pecans and Vanilla Beans coming in at a lovely 12% ABV is phenomenal. The tasting room itself is a converted church. It's such a cool environment. There are several great murals on the wall and they have TVs throughout. They have great merchandise as well. We walked over from Armature Works to check out this place. It's a cool vibe inside and I like all of the comfy couch seating. Beers were not my favorite but I am not a fan of IPAs or imperial stouts. I had one of the light beers and it was pretty good. This is a very fun brewery! The atmosphere is very relaxing and you can easily spend an afternoon here tasting great beer and chatting with family/friends. The beer is really, really good and we loved their sours and their IPAs (the Juice Lord series is great). They have lots of sports on TV, but thankfully the TVs are on mute, so you can watch, but not have to talk over the TV. There's plentiful water that you can get yourself (always a good thing for a brewery) and we loved coming here. There's limited free parking out in front, but they have paid parking behind the brewery (you need to download an app for it). It's a really nice brewery overall! read more

After BarrieHaus (terrible name, terrific brewery), this is my favorite brewery in Tampa. They managed to accomplish the impossible and brew many trendy and cutting-edge beers without resorting to goofy gimmicks (apricot milkshake marshmallow chocolate IPA anyone?) Everything I had on tap here was amazing. The location here is kind of challenging, it's right next to a busy road. However, it is housed in a converted church. It is gorgeous. Inside: there is cool, moody ambiance. Outside: tables for rambunctious quaffing of ale and lager. The real highlight though, is the pizza cart that is sometimes available: Essential Pizza. Great new craft place close enough to downtown but far enough away. They have their own parking on site but the lot is a little small. They have an outside area just at the entrance. Inside you'll see it's nicely decorated. Spacious but cozy. The artwork is modern with a hip hop theme or a good inside joke. Plenty on draft selection. They do a good job with a variety of IPAs and sours. All the beer seemed very tasty and flavorful. The bar tender was very friendly and helpful as well. The other patrons did genuinely seem to enjoy their beverages. Would definitely come back for a place to chill and have a tasty beer. Bit of an odd locale, but good spirits inside. Our bartender helped us w a handful of samples before we found ones we landed on. We love Juice Lord, but alas, twas not on top this day. Plenty of other good choices. The place inside has a bit of a dungeon like feel (not in a bad way), with TVs playing shows from way back when. Like a step back in time. I am not sure why I decided to stop here of all 5,000 (slight exaggeration) breweries in Tampa. They had good reviews and they were close to where I was hanging out, so why not? It was interesting to see that there is a Magnanimous Brewery and a Magnanimous Coffee! OK, now Tampa has 1,000 (miscalculating here) coffee shops... I guess this is a perverted joke on how these two business models have taken over the Tampan people. And this is no joke! Magnanimous is a very cool place, and there is a sitting area outside before you enter. The doors to the brewery are heavy hotel or bank doors that belong to a long time defunct building, reminiscent of the 1920. Inside, the space is a mix of art deco and minimalism, typical of breweries and coffee houses. This is the typical brewery mixed with Florida funk. The beer themselves are pretty good, not watery or weak. I had some juicy IPAs, some decent sour beers, and a nice BA stout. Surprisingly, this brewery has several taps featuring other breweries. I saw impressive names of beer, but I really wanted to try the Magnanimous hand so I refrained from ordering the guest taps. All in all, I would prefer the brewery to be called ostentatious rather than magnanimous. read more

Well, I am done for! I had previously come to Magnanimous to pick up a to-go beer for a surprise to Ben during the height of Covid where most places were only allowed to do to-go orders so didn't do a review at the time because it was in and out and plus Ben hadn't been here yet so in our book, my visit didn't count because we didn't go together. Yeah, we are silly like that. While in the general area he was trying to see where we could stop so I mentioned that he had yet to go to Magnanimous. We walked in and before we even sat down he noticed the beertender's hat and how it was a wrestling logo with their name, then he noticed how there was wrestling on the TV and was like "wait, what?" A quick glance over the place and he was a kid in a candy store because he realized that the owner(s) must like wrestling, which is one of his things (insert my eyes rolling). To top it off, he noticed the number of IPAs they had listed though many were sold out but that also got him going and he quickly picked out a few options to try. His first taste, all I got was a loud sigh and a "oh, THAT is delicious". I just giggled to myself as he was so happy it was too cute. While enjoying his beers he already started to plan out future visits as they are close to Hidden Springs, another brewery he loves so has the game plan on how to visit them together moving forward. I also noticed that one of the beertenders from Hidden Springs was sitting at the bar, enjoying a beer and that another person was wearing a Woven Water tshirt that looked like an employee to that brewery. Love seeing the craft beer community spreading the love! This was a big win for Ben on a new brewery to enjoy but I am going to guess his wallet won't think so... read more

You won't find better NEIPAs, doubles and triples than here. I could understand someone not liking it because most of their beers are very high alc% but the true beer connoisseurs will love this place. I had the triple neipa that was over 10% and it's one of the best beers I've ever had. Usually those high gravity beers give up flavor for hops but not this one. When I walked into Magnanimous I was almost sure it wasn't my thing.  The music was great and the venue is open and clean.  There are tables as well as a lounge area.  With the center piece of everything being the bar.  It looks like it would be great for groups.  I honestly got like a frat boy vibe from the beertenders. Pluses are if you love beer this is a great spot. And I really liked the music. Minuses it was extremely cold on my visit.  Like the tap room felt like they could actually store the beer in it to keep it cold.  Other minus is they don't do flights and they will only do two 5 oz pours at a time.  Which is the other reason it felt fratboyish.  It was also a relatively younger crowd.  Which on a Friday was to be expected. I honestly didn't like the feel of the place and the beertender guy was brief and kind of  smart Alec.  Not sure this is a spot that I would enjoy spending much time in.  Definitely didn't feel welcome or appreciated. Won't be reviewing the beers here at all.  Letting you know if you'd like to visit that they make good hazy IPAs. read more

4/5, December 2022. We stopped in here while visiting the Tampa area around Christmas. Located in the same block with some other brewery/meadery places we had gotten a recommendation for the IPAs. The vibe was cool and welcoming. The service was excellent and my wife did enjoy their IPAs while I enjoyed several of their dark beers. The sours were solid but not quite up to some of the local competition. Still I would definitely recommend this place. They all the way around and well worth your time. read more

If there were 6 stars, this brewery would still be worthy of 10!!! This dark, chill location is home to 10+ juicy, amazing IPAs, as well as multiple other brew variations. We tried each one and could barely pick our favorite, each was better than the last! While the kids usually prefer the sunshiny fun of outdoor breweries, the chill living-room vibe kept them settled while T and I decided exactly how many beers to purchase for our trek back home. I had passed this building many times when visiting Garagiste Meadery and Hidden Springs Ale Works in Tampa Heights to enjoy their array of meads and craft beers, respectively. But never thought this building would be anything until I heard Magnanimous was setting up their operations and taproom there. Needless to say, when I heard they had finally opened, I needed to pay me a visit, and a visit I did. Having heard of Magnanimous from attending previous beer festivals, I knew of the tasty styles of craft beers they had brewed previously. I was pleased with everything about their taproom, starting with their wrought iron doors where you enter. The taproom has a deep, concave-like ceiling with Magnanimous's nameplate hung over the electronic taproom menu screens where the u-shaped bar is located. With plenty of table and bar seating available -- booths, chairs, and high-tops, the taproom offers patrons the opportunity to relax over a couple of craft beers and engage in conversation or watch whatever sports event or movie is playing on the screens on the front-end walls above the entryway. I ordered a pour of the Cactus Jack Sour Blonde Ale that was fabulous between the notes of cactus pair and jackfruit on the palate. Their tap list offers a nice array of IPAs, sours, stouts, and other beer styles for consumption. Moreover, they have a solid selection of 4-pack cans to take home to enjoy certain select beers such as their Fuzzy Huggers IPA, which I purchased. Depending on the time of year, they offer bottles that normally contain one of their stout releases as well. While I didn't pick up such a bottle, a friend of mine did. In addition to the tasty beer they offer, they produce some wickedly good cold brew coffee, such as the one that tastes like peanut butter and was soooooooo rich and creamy. That was actually a godsend because that helped me sober up and sharpened my senses before having to make our way to the next destination. Upon this experience, we will certainly return for repeat visits when in the Tampa-St. Pete area. Especially where you have Garagiste and Hidden Springs right down the street, Magnanimous has become part of the brewery crawl rotation. read more

I am not a beer drinker but my husband is. He went to a beer tasting and I had to be the DD because the beer was strong! I guess that's a good thing. The outside of this place is pretty deceiving. But once you're inside there's art on the walls and a high farmhouse ceiling. I found that the only water available was at a water fountain down the hall or to buy liquid death. I don't live in Tampa but love craft beer so I was very jealous about all the wonderful things I'd heard about Magnanimous. I had plans to be in Tampa so I knew this was my chance to visit Magnanimous. It's right around the corner from Hidden Springs and Garagiste so I was familiar with the area. When we walked in it was a little dark but I kind of enjoyed the mood. We sat down at the bar and the beertender was attentive and friendly. We ordered several half pours because we wanted to try numerous things, I opted for two IPAs and my friend went with two dark beers. All four beers were wonderful in their own ways and after trying the beers we knew why this place was getting so much chatter. Juice Lord was a beautiful hazy IPA and you could really taste the chocolate and pecan in the Head of the Table. I can't wait til next time i'm in Tampa so I can go back and try more of their beers! read more

Came here on a whim after searching for coffee spots in the area. Had no idea existed. Maybe I live under a rock? ‍ However, I'm so glad we visited. The decor is simple and cute. The paintings on the wall pays homage to some heavy hitters in the music industry (s/o to Magnanimous for reppin for the culture ). They also have some merch available if you're interested in rockin their brand. It's a great vibe for getting work done or just to kick back with some friends. It is a brewery but don't let that deter you from trying the coffee. The server (who was super nice and helpful with his recommendations) explained that they're serving up hot coffee and such during the morning and by afternoon/night they're serving a variety of brew on tap They do also have cold brew on tap that's available all day. We ordered an espresso shot and 2 lattes. I opted for a caramel latte with oat milk and it was delicious! The latte art was spot on! My husband ordered a regular latte with oat milk and he said it absolutely glorious! We'll for sure return to try some of the brews they serve. I would pass by this location many times to ramp onto I-275 and never thought that this building would become a brewery. I'm not sure what this building used to be, but they did a decent job renovating it to what it is now. There's seating inside and a little bit of some seating outside. Parking is a bit limited, but I've been lucky enough to find a spot in their small parking lot. There's street parking in the surrounding area. They have a good selection of beers, but they also sell ciders and wine. The ciders and wine selection is small, but decent. We came here early in the day to do the beer and coffee combo, I wanted coffee and my boyfriend wanted beer to taste from the area. I love when breweries have this option! The vibes were really chill here, the bar and the surrounding seating looked comfortable. The high ceilings and entrance were super cool and different. Our beertender/barista was great, I really appreciate when breweries are open to letting you taste a beer before committing to a full pour. There were people even coming in to get a PB oat milk iced latte to go (on draft) that's when you know the coffee is great too. Prices very reasonable. My boyfriend really enjoyed all of the beer he tried and he thought they did their IPAs very well. This place is close to downtown, not much of a view outside because of the busy hustle of Florida Ave., but it has comfortable seating inside and out... Who cares, this place has some of the beat Hazy IPAs that I've ever had. If you're not careful, the citrus flavor that masks the alcohol bite, will allow the beer to #@$* you up. The coffee by Ginger Beard they serve here is not that bad either and I guess it helps to why they open at 7 am at a brewery. I'll definitely have some coffee n beer on those staycation days!
