So you check out the Yelp app. Although it is always useful, sometimes it gives you absolutely the meal you were hoping for. Tonight at Larrabee Lager, a brewpub that serves pizza and other food, Yelp delivered on all levels. Comfortable space? Check. Friendly service? Check, both from Kate, who was at the front counter, and the other server whose name I did not get - - both ladies were friendly and provided outstanding service. Excellent food? Again, a double check. Delicious small house salad with their homemade vinaigrette, lightly dressed. Perfect! Their pizzas are a 12 inch size, which is a bit larger than one person needs, but which was so good, I didn't want to waste any of it. I had the Mediterranean Pizza, a vegetarian option, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Finally, I sampled a couple of their brews, and enjoyed all of them. I settled on the Helles Lager, which might just be the best craft brewery lager I have ever had, and their Light Catcher IPA, one of their most popular brews. Nicely balanced , perfectly hopped, this is a brew West Coast IPA fans should make a point to sample. I was just passing through Bellingham, and staying in one of the hotels nearby, but would absolutely be happy to find myself in this vicinity again. Great job, folks! My biggest gripe was that the live music was too loud. I am used to loud music in the background, but this felt louder than normal--all of my friends were complaining about it. This obviously made it difficult to talk with others. It might not be as loud when there is not live music. The food and drinks were okay. It is bar food with a Bavarian twist. Our servers were nice and periodically checked in to refill our drinks. I'm not sure if I would go here again if I was in town, but this would be a fun spot for some.

They offer all of the Stemma beer favorites, plus (of course!) their delicious Super Squeeze hard seltzer, and a small selection of ciders and wines. There's a food truck outside, too, and plenty of parking. I was also happy to see some familiar Stemma faces, as they're rotating staff from their og tap room. The vibe was definitely a little different here, but that's to be expected. Looking forward to spending some warm summer days in the beer garden here for sure!
