We came the night before Thanksgiving since we didn't have the kids with us, I made reservations on the open table app thinking it would be busy since no one wants to cook that night. We arrived 10 minutes early and the hostess said we wouldn't get acknowledged til the exact time of our reservation but we would be seated..I looked around and there was only 3 other tables..not busy at all it was a weird encounter right out the gate, which made us nervous about the rest of our experience. We sat awkwardly in the quiet a restaurant for the 10 whole minutes. Then our server created us he was bubbly and knowledgeable honestly the 3 stars are more for him doing a great job. The food was OK the burger my husband really liked it was giant, my seabass was a little under cooked, but I was able to get the garlic herb butter on it instaid of the mandarin sauce which I was thankful about. Ambiance = dark and a bit narrow, awkward location of maitre d' podium for front entrance. Too much staff just hanging around. One other couple eating. Service was good. Waiter attentive. He subtlety warned us about items, one hint I did not pick up on. Food. Well it must have been chef's night off. We ordered the lobster bisque to start, waiter said "most people like the French onion soup". hmmm. What arrived was a gelatinous blob of squash yellow....stuff. Was not creamy. Was not reminiscent of lobster. It was not good. Bread was variable. Some pieces were fresh, others quite stale. Main course and sides arrived, well timed. My ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare, but the amount of salt made the Pacific ocean look like fresh water. I ate a few bites, said something to waiter and basically his reply was most people say the steaks are undersalted. At that point I decided it was pointless. Sides were Brussels sprouts and Blue cheese risotto. The sprouts were fine, if not a bit pedestrian. Nothing wrong with them. The risotto was a ruinous mess. Not sure what kind of rice, but was overcooked and the whole thing soupy. Oddly there was zero blue cheese. Not even a hint. The bill before tip was $156. I tipped the waiter $30 because the place was so dead and we were his only table, and generally he tried hard given his boundaries. I wanted to like the place. I want such restaurants to succeed. I was left wondering if this is acceptable food on their home turf. The oddest part is the PNW is known to not have the greatest restaurants in the first place. Ah man I hate to pile on! We had been anticipating trying this place for months as it was being built. So I called in advance as it was Valentines weekend. I made a reservation for the 15th as we were busy on the 14th. I brought flowers in ahead of time during the day to have at the table when we got there. That's as far as the pluses went. We entered through the hotel entrance and the host podium aways across the room, which felt weird. We were sat at the two top in the restaurant right next to the door to the hotel lobby that whenever was opened was blinding and our table was right next to the bright wine fridge. I asked if we could be moved and they said that wasn't an option. Our server was nice enough but not particularly welcoming or enthusiastic. We ordered drinks and they were fine and fit appies we got the bone marrow goat cheese ball things. The marrow was greasy and lacked flavor and the boat cheese ball were essentially round mozzarella sticks. For dinner we ordered a steak and Brussel sprouts. We didn't take any pictures of that because it wasn't worth it. We were pretty disappointed $200 later. We will try the happy hour at the bar someday. Hey, The bread was good. Like someone else posted earlier, we still have Steakhouse 9, they rarely disappoint. read more

The ambiance was dark and cave like, needs candles and some basic table decor like a small vase with white flowers. Maybe a tree with lights in the corner. The service was excellent. The food was decent, the Caesar was strange...wouldn't get that again. The lobster bisque was quite good but the steak flatbread was excellent. Be warned, the cocktails have no prices and the meridian is $18 and was strong and AWFUL. Would definitely go again, but they need to get some decor in there to make it more inviting and cozy/intimate. Curious about some other menu items! read more

We were celebrating two birthdays. Had a wonderful dinner. We started with the charcuterie board which was amazing. The filet melted in your mouth. I opted for no add-ons. The sides also very good. I give this two stars ONLY because the ambience was ok and my cocktail was good. But the food we had was worse than pedestrian. Granted, we only had the 'crab' cakes and the bone marrow, but neither was edible. And here's why: the bone had plenty of marrow in it, but I only got approximately a teaspoon because most of it was rock solid! Really? Just roast the dang thing. I'll even come and show you how. And if you're going to come to the NW and offer crab cakes, you'd better know what you're talking about, because what I got was a fried cake of gooey filler that had absolutely no discernable crab whatsoever. Went there with a large party--about a dozen of us--but it was a weekday, so the place was pretty slow. We anticipated decent food and attentive service. We were disappointed. Half the restaurant was dark, the other half lit like it was an art show and we were the featured works. We sat for quite some time before the waiter took our drink order and it took a long time for the drinks to arrive. One guest didn't get the beer he ordered. More than 45 minutes in, we ordered our appetizers and dinners. Most of the appetizers finally came out--except for the one for the guy who was still waiting for his beer. The calamari came out in a thin lemony soup and seemed a bit over-cooked. The risotto was also overcooked and tasted mainly of blue cheese. It's fine if you like blue cheese, but it was odd. The steak flatbread was good aside from the bread being really soft and it had absorbed a lot of the liquid on top. Our friend who didn't get his beer also didn't get his appetizer. He finally gave up and bailed. Don't blame him. Ten minutes after he cancelled his order and left, the appetizer landed on the table. The mains showed up an hour after ordering along with the soups and salads. All the plates hit the table at once rather than having the soups and salads first. Several of the main dishes were cold. The lobster bisque was unremarkable and tepid. The steak was well seasoned and cooked properly, but had been sitting in the warmer for quite a while. The "Oscar" upgrade included a crab cake patty (mostly breading filler and very little crab) and the bearnaise sauce in the separate gravy boat had separated; my guess is that it had been sitting for at least 30 minutes. The asparagus looked like it had been grilled and then run over by an F-150 in the parking lot. It wasn't even worth trying. We also noticed that there was no salt or pepper on the table. I've been here quite a few times and at first I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that they had just opened and they were working out the kinks. The food has always been solid, so we come back, but they truly need someone that knows what exception service is to come in and train their staff. They do not understand the concept of the customer is always right, from the standpoint of trying to make it a good experience for the customer. They won't allow 3 people to sit and the high top tables in the bar, which is somewhat odd and they always are slow, but say you can't get in for an hour, but forget to suggest that there's bar seating available right away. Some of my experiences have been a 2 star and some a 5 star, but it's all stuff that could easily be remedied in my opinion to make it a 5 star. I recommend they have their staff all read "Unreasonable Hospitality". The space is nice overall, so I think they can make it a wonderful restaurant, if that's the goal! read more

Not bad. Steaks were good and bacon slab was delicious. I get the low light in restaurants, but this place is SO dark. Lights need turned up or some candles need to be added to tables. Drinks were good and a decent price, but can you spend the extra money and get real maraschino cherries instead of the red food dyed ones. It made the drink look cheap instead of the high end restaurant quality they are obviously going for with the menu prices and atmosphere. The wait staff was great. Super friendly and helpful. This establishment will be closed soon. We were the only ones in the restaurant eating. From get-go, it was terrible. Steaks were so bad you could not cut them. No taste either. Every item on our plate was so bad. And we really worried because every food served was below a warm temperature. The Health Dept. should be notified, before someone gets sick. read more

Just not a good experience for us at all. We asked if "lamb chops" on menu were actually lamb chops or rack of lamb, they were rack of lamb, husband had and they were about 1/4 inch each, 4 served on plate, cold and tough. My mini filet came out cooked med rare as I asked but it was just warm and the extra mushrooms were COLD on top. I should have sent the entire meal back. I told our waiter and she said "oh." No offer to get my meal warmed up. We were the only ones in for early dinner. The caesar salad included tomatoes and olives .... never seen that. And we went for a nice leisurely dinner and the salad wasn't served first, it came with the dinner! Who does that in a nice restaurant? Our server was nice and polite but when I said something about salad needed to be served first she said "well you said to bring everything at once" which we meant entrees and sides. She didn't get that? The new brew pub across the street was hopping, next time we'd go there. read more
