District Coffee is one of my go-to coffee shops in the vicinity of where I live. It also has a special place in my heart since my realtor and I sat and wrote my offer letter for my house here (which got accepted!) so I suppose I will always have good memories of this coffee shop. I like their seasonal coffee drinks like toffee latte although I've never gotten anything to eat but it always looks and sounds good. It is a spot which you can certainly get coffee to-go but it also offers a nice space to work or to catch up with a friend. In COVID times I'd say they're doing a good job with the precautions as well. The employees wear masks and the tables seem clean and spaced apart. The best coffee I've had in Nashville so far. Superior to any other coffee I've had in the city. Ambiance is nice very clean, very quiet just like you want your coffee shop to be. The service was excellent and greeted with a smile. My only complaint would be the flimsy cups. Great trendy little spot in the industrial district. Plenty of parking just outside the door. You order at the counter on one end by the register and then it's ready on the opposite end. Sparse selection of breads when we arrived... we chose a lemon, blueberry muffin, a regular cup of coffee and a latte. Both fresh brewed and perfect for the rainy day. Free WiFi and plenty of seats. Large airy coffee shop in Berry Hill with plenty of seating but can get quite packed. I stoped by early morning Saturday at 9am and over the course of the next two hours the tables filled up. Parking was easy and right in front of the shop. They have two additional large tables in separate rooms. I think they sometimes rent out meeting space. Smaller/individual tables that make it great for someone who is looking to get some work done/study. It's a bit echoy so the noise level was higher than I would liked. District Coffee features other small food businesses items that they rotate through quite frequently and also have an assortment of savory pies that I'll have to try the next time! read more

I came in & for some reason the line to order is up front as soon as you walk in, despite how there's more space for a line to form on the pickup side. When it was time for me to order, the barista didn't even look at me, & barely listened while I was ordering. I brushed it off at first, only to realize afterwards that he gave me the wrong pastry. I didn't get to have it corrected because the line was still long & he was the only person up front, so I didn't want to be a burden. While visiting Nashville, me and my friends decided to make a coffee run and district coffee looked inviting. Upon entering the shop, nobody even looked up to speak. We overlooked it and continued to look at the menu. At this point we still weren't asked if anyone could help us. We all made our orders and sat down to wait for them to be made. The guy ringing us up was dry and not friendly at all. While taking among ourselves he then proceeded to comment on something said within our group in a judgmental tone. Not the best experience. It has a ver specific working vibe, as I got there around 7:30 and was the only woman in there for a good while; all the other customers were businessmen clearly in meetings with colleagues or clients. And, most of the seating was in conference rooms or just tables in the main area. Don't get me wrong, this didn't bother me, I just found it funny, but ultimately unsurprised as everything around seems to be a business center. To get 5 stars from me you literally must be perfect. 5 stars on Yelp is the best you can give, and that means perfection, and to be perfect I have to have 0 complaints. People talk a lot about a competitor across the street, but this place is better in my opinion. There is ample space for you and whoever you're with, with even a more secluded room in the back. Every single coffee has great flavor. They change their roasts up multiple times/year, and the flavor is unique and spot on for what someone who truly understands coffee and flavoring would look for. Service here is spot on, the drinks come out fast, and they don't try to be too fancy. My wife and I come here often, and for all the choices of coffee in this city, and people who have probably been to over 100 different coffee shops, this is up there as a top favorite of mine from anywhere I have been. District Coffee is a new coffeeshop on Sidco (across the street from the South Nashville location of Stay Golden). It's a pretty large spot, with lots of varied seating options (conference style tables, small tables, bar seating, etc.). It seemed like a spot that people might meet up for a work meeting or a quick coffee with friends or coworkers. I stopped in for a late morning pick me up (good cappuccino), and I was impressed by it! Good coffee. Lots of seating. Bright, with windows. Good service. And locally made snacks for purchase as well. As a South Nashville resident (we're in nearby Crieve Hall), I can see this becoming a frequent stop for me! Only con based on this first visit? Closed on Sundays (a day I could easily stop by for a coffee during errands in the area). But all in all? Excited to have another place for coffee in my area! Try it out! read more

It's been a long time since my days hanging out in a specific coffee shop, and as far as I can tell those days are gone, but I do like meeting people over at this one. There's space, there's coffee, the music if there's any is not overbearing or something I recall being annoyed at, and the coffee is close to being right... I'll note, my definition of right is being able to see infinity, most people don't particularly like to take that road however. It's located on the right side of the street for heading out in the morning, but it's facing the sun meaning you will have to deal with light in the mornings, which may cause you to combust, or turn you to ash. I've had a few meetings here, didn't have to do anything other than pick a side of the shop people were not on and was able to get about my business without being bothered by other people's, or bothering other people. Nice spot, not exactly the place you'd go hang out and play board games in my mind, but coffee's good read more

Nashville is a city saturated by coffee shops, so when a new one pops up, it's hard to know if it's worth trying. I'm here to tell you this place is worth it. What I like most about District Coffee is that the aesthetic is both clean and warm. With white walls and a cement floor, there's a danger of a place feeling too industrial or sterile. But that's not the case here! With light flooding in from the front windows and splashes of warm wood accents, not to mention attentive and friendly staff, this coffee shop is welcoming and comfortable. The drip coffee (currently 8th & Roast coffee) and the cold brew are great and make me excited to try more options on the menu. They also offer a new milk alternative called oat milk, if you're into that. If you're looking for a place to post up in and work for a while (like I was when I visited the first time), this is a great place for you. There's a bar facing out the front windows, two person tables along the wall, a back room with some soft chairs and a high table for a larger group, and even a conference room! This offers a great space to gather with friends for a lowkey outing or for someone such as myself who needs to study. They have a great atmosphere with great music, customer service, and products being served. I am quite partial to their pastries and non-coffee drinks. It is a little gem in the rough in an area I wouldn't have expected to find something like this, but that was a pleasant surprise. I usually find it to not ever be crazy busy. I venture to their backroom with a high-top long table to plug in and study without being in the main dining room. I enjoy my mini escape and with access being right next to the bathrooms. I can genuinely say this is one of the better coffee shops in Nashville. I still laugh at the name though. When living in DC, there was a coffee chain shop in the area that was of the same name. I do not think they are related, but would be quite happy if they were considering I liked District Coffee Shop in DC. read more

My go to Coffee shop in Nashville. They have consistently good coffee especially if you're looking for espresso based (latte,cap). +1 for oat milk. Light food options available but it varies by the day. New Zealand style meat pies, assorted muffins and pastries. I really like the brioche rolls when they are stocked. I'll start by saying I am a fan of Peet's coffee. Rich, robust, dark. Not a fan of the burnt taste of anything Starbucks, but I love checking out local coffee shops and this place was incredibly well designed with plenty of room for everyone, whether you are there to enjoy some quiet time to work, or hanging with a small party playing catch up. They have a long counter with a couple workers, a window bar area to watch the traffic on Sidco, or something more intimate as you walk further into the space if you want to be more isolated. Very limited on eats. I always start with a dark roast coffee to see what they offer to people that don't want flavored drinks, lattes, or espresso. All I can say is, it was very weak. If this is their dark roast, that's a real shame. If they only had one option, the barista didn't tell me otherwise when I ordered a dark roast. He was a bit of a stiff, so I did some work on my laptop and choked down a crappy cup of joe and some tasty $4 granola. Oh well. read more

3.5 The 100 Oaks/Berry Hill area keeps surprising me. There's always more to discover. I think it's because business owners are finding out that commercial real estate there is a bit cheaper than in other parts of town and thanks to sites like this one, you don't have to rely solely on neighborhood residents for business. People, routinely, travel to patronize new businesses. And that's how I came upon District Coffee (see? It works). Ambling a bit farther down Sidco than I usually do, I was pleased to see a nice-sized parking lot waiting for me. Walking in I was pleased (again) to note that the space is larger than it comes across in pictures and print. There are four distinct sitting areas (stools by the window, tables along the wall, a conference room of sorts, and another walled area of group seating). As soon as you walk in, you'll see the counter with the small menu behind it. If you'd like some prepackaged nibbles, they've got you covered there as well. I found both employees with whom I interacted to be very nice. The space and vibe are both extremely enjoyable. That's why I am bummed to give DC a 3.5. I liked everything but what I drank. I came here in late spring which felt more like mid-summer (thanks, climate change!). I needed something iced and refreshing. My gut was to go with a chai but I tend to like trying seasonal offerings when I go to coffee shops, so I did that. I ordered the raspberry matcha iced tea. I contemplated the blood orange coffee soda (combo could go to the left) and the honey lavender latte (may be too creamy a mouthfeel) but thought I made the right choice. The barista brought my drink to me (score!) and I was happy about the dark green color. But as soon as I tasted it... my joy lessened greatly. The drink was incredibly chalky. I know matcha *can* run on the grainy side but this was hard to drink. I tasted very little (if any) raspberry. It *was* iced (and cold) but to spend (nearly) $6 on a drink I couldn't quite stomach and needed to rely on the ice melting to make it drinkable... that's disappointing. I'm willing to wager I made a mistake. Maybe I should have gone with a tried and true before trying something new. Looking at the reviews, I'm very much the outlier so I must have done something wrong. Or, maybe that raspberry matcha iced tea is not the jam. In any event, I'd like to try something else. DC has a ton of potential. read more
