So much potential but it's just ok.There's two levels a restaurant on the top level and a lounge on the bottom. We sat at the bar - waiting for our table. We were seated for over ten minutes with no attempt to take our drink order. It should have been an indication of the experience to come. We had a dinner reservation at the same time of others. We seemed to be the "lucky"ones to be seated back at the bar area. The front and back area of restaurant definitely seemed to be keep a certain "image". We ordered the wagyu burger and rigatoni pasta. The food was lacking in finesse and execution. The pasta was overcooked was tempted to send it back. It's a chain restaurant that seems to be operating on the tails of a busy restaurant scene. The place is more about the image than the food. I recently visited The Henry with a group of friends, and overall it was an interesting experience. I've been to both this location and the Dallas one before, so I went in expecting a reliably pleasant dinner. Parking was a bit confusing for some of my friends, but once we arrived, things moved quickly. After checking in with the hostess, we were seated right away, and our server was reasonably attentive throughout the evening. We started with the spicy tuna on crispy rice--clearly inspired by Nobu's signature dish. It was a solid interpretation, though the rice leaned a bit too oily and could have used more seasoning to really bring it to life. For drinks, our group ordered an Old Fashioned and one of the featured cocktails. The Old Fashioned was a hit, but the cocktail fell a little flat--so a bit of a mixed bag there. For my entrée, I ordered the roasted chicken frites. The chicken itself was cooked properly, but the skin was unfortunately quite soggy, likely due to the garlic sauce. It also seemed like the dish may have sat in the service window for a bit before reaching the table, which didn't help. There was also an overwhelming amount of sauce--so much so that the fries were completely soaked and lost their texture. The few fries that weren't drenched paired really well with the truffle aioli, which was a highlight. My friends ordered the Bolognese and the Wagyu cheeseburger, and both described their meals as fine, but not memorable enough to warrant a return visit. I've come to the Henry twice now and both experiences have been good. The space is beautiful with an antique, European style pub downstairs and a nice restaurant and patio space upstairs. The food and service have been good both times, and there are plenty of options available for whatever food/drink preference you may have. It is pricey, so I would save this for a special ocassion. Parking: of course being in 12 South, free neighborhood parking is always easy to find with a short walk (just make sure it's not in residential permit areas). Service: service overall was very friendly, attentive, & efficient. We never felt rushed & the food & drinks came out quickly with the pre-fixe menu. We did wait a little while past our reservation time but of course it was packed being Valentine's. Food: food was really good! Casual upscale, good quality, & good portion sizes. We ordered the smoked salmon & caviar, truffled Brie toast, seared ahi tuna, braised short rib, chocolate fudge pie, & lemon olive oil cake. I also ordered the house wine pairing. We were there celebrating my friend's birthday, and it was the right spot, The service was amazing--they surprised the birthday girl at our table with a free dessert, which was thoughtful. My salmon entrée was incredible, easily one of the best meals I've had in a while. I was taking notes! The Christmasy vibes were fantastic and made the whole night feel extra special. They also have great bathrooms. And I believe they validate parking in the back. The only downside was that, despite having a reservation for quite a while, we were seated on the ground floor, which was a bit disappointing given how nice the rest of the space is. Overall it's good but I wouldn't rave about it. In my opinion best part was the ambiance and environment. Our waitress was so nice and was very helpful throughout. My meal was the Rigatoni Vodka which was ok, I think I can make better at home. Only thing special was the burrata on top which could have melted a bit more. The appetizer pf Brussels sprouts was the best part of the meal. The drinks were good, I got the spritz which was pretty good. Allergies beware!!! I have a nut allergy and sooooo much not theme has nuts. Both deserts we ordered were topped or covered in nuts. The lemon olive oil cake was topped with almonds, we were given the name "fudge pie" and it was actually a peanut brittle esque crust with peanuts as a topping and a "garnish" of peanut sauce covering the entire bottom of the plate. The soup was not contained/wrapped up properly and spilled all over the bag and my car. I would go back here but probably just for the crispy rice. The singular staff member there seemed to not be prioritizing the customers in the restaurant because he was pretty focused on socializing with someone who seemed to be a personal friend at the bar... it was kind of weird to watch. Enjoyed a delicious Easter brunch here when my bestie was in town visiting! The weather was perfect so we sat outside where there was a lovely breeze, umbrellas for extra sun protection and fans to help keep air flowing. The parmesan truffle fries were good, but by comparison to the AZ location they fell flat. The mocktail spritz I got was really good. Unfortunately, the bolognese here is nothing like the AZ location. It lacks truffle flavor and the sauces were bland. The gluten free key lime tart was honestly incredible though. I've been here twice - once as a walk in (sat downstairs) and once with a larger group and a reservation (upstairs). Downstairs is better for a small party and is quieter. Upstairs is very big and busy. It was hard to hear everyone in our group because a few of the tables were really loud. But it was still an enjoyable experience. I've had breakfast here and it was tasty and I've had lunch, which was also good. I didn't order anything exciting for lunch - just a bunless burger, fries, and wine. I used the pretzel's cheese dip for my fries and I would recommend :) everyone seemed to enjoy their meal and our party appreciates the GF items clearly labeled on the menu and especially that they have a dedicated GF fryer. Great vibe and setting "Patio" area will be awesome in the Spring/summer (it's January now) with retractable sides and retractable ceiling. It will really open up and be really cool. Cons A couple dishes were a bit over season. I suspect they're items on the menu that have a lot of spice in them, but not outlined on the menu. This is a real pet peeve of mine. We did tell the server we don't like spicy and she accommodated us. I'd ask my old-fashioned be made a specific way and the bartender got it about 80% there but don't feel as if he really paid attention to what I asked for. At $19 for an old-fashioned, I expected to be made perfectly. Bottom line: I would definitely return. read more

Our first time at The Henry, nice open space. Our service was amazing. We got there for a late brunch, early dinner. Started off with cocktails, I got the strawberry spritz. I really liked my drink, so I had a few of those. The other ladies weren't a fan of their drinks, the Bloody Mary was sweet and the espresso martini wasn't the best. Got a few appetizers, truffle fries were fine, we didn't like their crispy rice as much because the rice was thick and just a bit of tuna. We really didn't like the potstickers because the meat was mushy, but the potsticker itself was cooked perfectly. We shared our entrées as well. We got the Korean skirt steak and that was alright. I got the scallops it was good, but it came out cold. The Bolognese was good, and we liked the braised short rib. We were disappointed with the macaroni and cheese. But we ended the meal perfectly with the Keylime tart Brûlée. That was our favorite dish. Really not our favorite place, but it wasn't bad. read more

The restaurant is tucked away at the "lower" part of 12th south. There is seating on the lower part of the restaurant with a bar, but the main dining is upstairs, with outdoor seating availability. Server was attentive and very nice. I had the smoked salmon bagel, but I would recommend something else. Friend said the huevos rancheros were good, but the pretzels w. Fondue was the best. There's a reason it's their signature appetizer. I could eat that as main too, but I love pretzels. I stopped into The Henry for Sunday brunch without a reservation and was able to grab a seat at the bar. I started with an espresso martini--delicious and beautifully presented--and later tried the signature spritz, which was just as good. For food, I ordered the huevos rancheros enchiladas, which I found a bit on the dry side, and the chicken tortilla soup, which had good flavor but surprisingly no chicken. My dish also came out late compared to my guest's, but the bartender immediately acknowledged it, spoke with the kitchen, and involved the manager. The manager acted quickly, and although the delay wasn't ideal, I appreciated that both the bartender and manager were attentive and that part of my tab was comped without me having to ask. The service truly stood out--our bartender was amazing and made the experience worth it. Despite a few hiccups with the food, I would definitely give The Henry another try. After the 3rd ask we decided to order. My husband ordered the pasta dish and a side of the au gratin potatoes because he is completely in love with them. I ordered a crabcake and a salad The potatoes come & they are ( not lying) freezing ice cold! We are not those kind of people that send stuff back, but we asked please could you do us a favor these are ice cold will you please warm them up? Bartender brings the au gratin potatoes back & if you can believe it they were even colder! Insulting. We ended up having them take it off the bill because it was just not right. I think their food is pretty good, but I can say that their quality has gone down quite a bit and we were rushed so I doubt that I will be going back there anytime soon. My first visit to The Henry. I actually didn't know it existed a friend made a reservation. I'm not sure if the parking situation - hopefully you have better luck as I paid almost $20 for two hours across the street. Anyway, to the restaurant. Great vibe and it's really beautiful inside. The roof is retractable and they opened those (and subsequently closed due to the bright sun!) but really enjoyed the fresh air. We did end up moving tables because of the sun, and then they closed the retractable roof right after, ha! Our server was amazing. As a note the brunch menu on the weekends does not start until 10. However get a drink, the hot chocolate was amazing! I wasn't super hungry so I had the yogurt parfait which was very nice. Would have loved a tad bit more granola but the honey was a nice sweetener.
