This was our first time trying District Eatz and we had a great experience. My family and I tried the chicken shawarma sandwiches, the gyro, and the chicken bacon and wrap. We also split a couple orders of the buffalo mac and cheese. All the food was delicious and exactly as described on the menu. We did a pickup order through UberEats, so I can't attest much to the restaurant or staff, but from what I saw, the restaurant was clean and spacious and the staff was friendly. District Eats in Clifton was... okay. The chicken quesadilla honestly tasted like something you could make at home -- not bad, just super simple for being $8. It gave "homemade lunch" vibes more than "restaurant dish." I tried two smoothies -- the acai one was actually really good, but the green smoothie (I think it was called Island Green or something like that?) was rough. It literally tasted like someone blended up fresh-cut grass and ice. It was super unfortunate. Their menu does have a lot of variety, which I appreciated, but overall it feels a little overpriced for the quality. The service was decent though -- the staff gave a good recommendation and were kind. The best part was definitely the ambiance. The place had cute Halloween decorations and even a little Minion sitting out, which made the space feel fun and welcoming. I decided to go here on a Saturday afternoon to try something new. Although listed in the "cheap eats" category, the buffalo chicken salad (really a chipotle chicken salad) was good, had lots of crunchy cucumbers, onions, and a couple kinds of lettuce. The diced tomatoes were a nice touch. The chicken was a baked chicken cut into 0.25-1.25 nugget sizes. From the title, I was expecting the chicken to carry the seasoning and was hoping for blue cheese dressing. Neither applied to this salad. That said, the chipotle ranch had a pleasant, mild spice and was big for $11.50. Just be sure to ask for extra napkins. I had been craving waffles for weeks so I was very excited to try District Eats! The staff was helpful when taking my order and answering questions. I ordered the waffle ($10) with strawberries and Nutella and the Chicken Buffalo Melt ($9.50). Both dishes were served quickly. I docked two stars because I was horrified that both of these dishes were made with prepackaged ingredients. The waffle was clearly out of package. It was not warm or crispy on the edges. The chicken was flavorful but it also had hallmarks of being pre-packaged. At this price point and with the atmosphere of the restaurant, I expected high quality, healthful ingredients and what I received was unacceptable. Tired this place for the first time and was very disappointed. I walked in and waited in line for 5 min for someone to take my order. The young blond behind the counter instead took the order of what looked like to be her friends from school who walked in a few minutes after me. Another guy behind the counter took my order instead. No one was friendly to me or welcoming. After placing our order we waited at least 20 minutes for an omelet and sausage egg and cheese croissant. I almost walked out but wanted to give them a chance. Also the back door was propped open all the way letting so much cold air in the dinning area. Not everyone likes it 60 degrees inside! Food was okay. Happened to be in the area and it looked interesting for a future lunch. I asked if they had any gluten free items and the teen behind the counter said let me check. Stepped into the back and came back and said, "the sandwiches". I then asked what the up-charge was for gluten free bread and suggested they should advertise that. Yaya ordered the açaí berry bowl and loved but the only complaint was that there was too much honey. She love show fresher the ingredients were and feel like they have you a great sized bowl. This place definitely gives younger vibes. The menu has a good variety of salty and sweet and can cater to a good range of ages. I came in a big family group with ages from 6 to elderly. We all enjoyed what we got. Please excuse the photos of half eaten food. We were all hungry and dug in right away. The food was made by the high schoolers I believe but were still good. I don't think they were expecting a big rush so it did catch them off guard. Overall food was probably a 6/10. Knocking off points for value (too pricey of a price point versus the actual size or quality of food). Also, the food was not very hot when it arrived. Açaí bowl was meh. It was pre-made with the granola in the freezer so the granola was soft. Overall experience was nice. The hang out area was fun for the kids and the food was enjoyable enough. District Eatz is a local spot that has excellent options for breakfast items, and I absolutely adore their açaí bowls. Their food was not edible. Just a suggestion but customer service training would be very beneficial for this establishment. I understand that teenagers might not have A + customer service but not acknowledging potential customers when walking in should not be happening . There are circumstances when a "laid back" vibe can work to a businesses disadvantage and this would be an example . District Eatz is about 5 mins from home so wanted to give them a try. I ordered an omelette as well as breakfast burrito . Everything was just thrown together and we would've been better off eating at McDonald's to be honest . The omelette I chose was the chicken fajita omelette . It was supposed to have chicken and red onions but it was only cheese, egg, and tomatoes. The pictures speak for themselves . Will not be back. I was running in to get something to hold me over and opted for a berry smoothie with peanut butter. They made it quickly but as I was walking out I noticed how incredibly sweet it tasted so I turned back around to ensure no additional sugar or sweetener was added as fresh fruit has enough natural sweetness. Upon asking the staffer told me they use purée and NOT fresh or frozen fruit. I noted that the taste was so intense and their menu is misleading as it doesn't not anywhere that they use purée. Unfortunately when I walked out, I couldn't bare the smoothie and didn't want to consume so much sugar that I decided to throw it away. I will not be returning. Great place to grab n go, or to work from as they have a good selection of sitting spots. Okay so my husband always says the açaí bowls are life changing here. He LOVES them. We get the mango tango and it's a perfect combination of granola and fruits. And their portions are generous for $12. We ordered ahead today and were confused at the granola. Normally the granola is crispy and delicious but today it just tasted like plain oats... dry and flavorless. I called them to verify that I wasn't crazy and they stated that the store they normally buy their granola from had ran out. I can understand they can't do anything about supply issues but I do wish there was a notification/note on the online portal so that we weren't disappointed. Normally I would give this place 5 stars. The food was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because I've never met staff less excited to be at work than at this place. They were chattering amongst themselves and audibly sighed when interrupted to take an order. Zero eye contact. One guy was sarcastic about fulfilling our drink order. The girl who brought our food over to the table couldn't even be bothered to place it in front of us--she just put it at the end of the table and then walked away. I think this place serves the purpose it's intended to serve very well. The food isnt anything groundbreaking but I think it's a really cool spot for CVHS kids to hang out or to grab a quick bite. I came by with my wife and young kids and it was a great family friendly spot for quick food. I can see high school kids hanging out here a lot after school or football games. Because I still had a bit of way to travel, I was hoping to grab some thing I could take with me in the car. When going into the restaurant I was taken aback by how cool the decor was and the atmosphere the place was emitting. This definitely seems like a cool place to grab a bite and hang out with friends so that was pretty nice to see. The menu displayed so many different options I was very bummed that I wasn't able to try out more food. I decided to grab the breakfast burrito with sausage so that way I could take it on the go with me. The burrito itself is pretty large and I was not disappointed with the fillings. It was stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese, sausage, and some chipotle sauce which was a nice touch. Even though the burrito was packed full of deliciousness, it was able to hold up its shape in the car. I'm so glad I stopped in.
