First time visiting Manhattan Bagel... Visited on a Tuesday morning. Ordered the Nova Lox (Lox & Bagel) on a Garlic Bagel - and a bottle of water. Food came up quickly. They delivered it to my table. The whole thing was damn tasty - although I did not detect any capers. The one thing I will ding them on - there was no fresh dill on the Nova Lox - fresh dill really elevates a Lox & Bagel offering. Service was good. Paid with Apple Pay. #ManhattanBagel

Their bagels are amazing. Food is great, service is prompt, ambiance is a mom and pop shop / hole in the wall. They have beverage options and coffee.

Ambiance was empty, cold, but did not look too uncomfortable. First time ordering and ordered the smokehouse brisket egg sandwich. It was a decent amount of meat and the egg was cooked nicely. It was a little greasy where it dropped a little, but everything was tasty to include the bagel. Better than Panera. Is was almost $11 for the sandwich. I would go back to try something else. It was not busy when I went on a Monday around 1pm, so the service was fast.

We have been coming here for years. I love that their bagels and cream cheese are fresh and service is quick. They have ample seating inside and outside. It does get pretty busy on the weekends, but the wait is never too long. My favorite is things to order are the cheddar bagel with chives cream cheese, and the chocolate chip bagel with strawberry cream cheese. I like their breakfast sandwiches as well. I often get a bacon, egg and cheese on a plain bagel.

We love their bagels . At school we get it all the time .After toasting and adding their variety of cream cheese it's yummy .Bagels are soft and always fresh .

Long overdue review! I've been coming to Manhattan Bagel for over 10 years and the quality has never changed, always consistent and delicious. My go-to is the steak, egg & cheese on a jalapeño cheddar bagel... chef's kiss. I've tried other sandwiches too and they're solid, but nothing tops grabbing my usual before a hike and taking a chicken salad croissant to go. After coming back from a 5 month trip, my first stop was here. The owner's warm smile, the kind staff, and how clean the place always is keeps me coming back. Manhattan Bagel will forever be a favorite. Highly recommend!

I can see how orders get mistaken here as their system for ordering during busy times seems like a mom and pop shop. You have one person take your order, the same person cooks and delivers you the meal when finished. They do not communicate with the cash register, so it is an honor system when you tell them your order. It was extremely busy but there was ample seating. Many people were grabbing their orders and taking them to go. They have plenty of bagels to select and a large menu. It was dark inside, which made it a little difficulty to read the menu. Overall our bagel sandwiches came out correct and were delicious. I knocked a star because the hash browns tasted like they sat under a light ready for a while. They certainly didn't taste very fresh... they were hard on the edges and squishy on the inside. I would definitely stick to the bagels/sandwiches they have to make fresh.

Such good bagels here. I always get the same: veggie cream cheese with lettuce and tomato on an everything bagel. So yummy!

After seeing its high ratings, I visited this bagel shop, but my overall experience didn't quite meet my expectations. The atmosphere was clean, though some areas showed signs of aging. The service was decent. I tried a spinach bacon croissant, which was satisfactory but not particularly remarkable, and the marble pound cake tasted as expected. The machine-brewed coffee was standard and mediocre; I believe it could benefit from a wider selection. Overall, I felt the prices were a bit high considering the quality I received.

Side of over processed tasting cheez wiz like vegetable cream cheese.

Ordered for the first time because I saw the reviews online and I am highly disappointed. Growing up in FL and having perfect bagels every time is what I am used to so I didn't have high hopes for this place but wanted to believe the reviews were accurate. I ordered a toasted everything bagel with turkey bacon, egg, and Jack cheese. They write orders on paper and don't communicate to each other what the orders are, so there are mistakes and my husband had to correct them three times. The bagel is soggy and not toasted at all like I had ordered (this is not a special request and is part of their normal menu item; in fact the first word of this item is "toasted"). The seasoning on the bagel is little to none in some places and overly seasoned with horrible salt to sesame to onion ratio. I felt like I was biting into pure salt on one end and nothing on the other. They were supposed to put cream cheese on the sandwich as well as a side of cream cheese. The vegetable cream cheese that I ordered tasted like it had been squeezed from a pre made tube that I can only describe as tasting like the quality of cheez wiz, no fresh vegetables inside what so ever. They also entirely forgot the side of hash browns that I ordered and charged us anyway. The food isn't worth it, maybe I just have high standards when it comes to bagels because people here seem perfectly ok with soggy, non fresh bagels and messed up orders. They are fairly busy all the time, but that shouldn't stop them from getting orders right or putting out quality food. My local FL bagel shop is twice as busy every day and they never mess anything up, and their bagels and cream cheese are always incredibly fresh and delicious. They should hire more people for the surprising increase in customers, and update their technology to the 21st century with printable receipts which can at least get passed to the right person (I feel like I would be asking too much to say they should have computers that send the order straight to the kitchen, so at least they should have printable receipts). Only thing that I can say is that they were very kind and friendly, however that alone doesn't make me want to come back to a restaurant with terrible food and poor communication/loads of mistakes.

Dropped by on a Sunday morning just after 7am opening hour. I used to come here years ago for the bagels. This morning, I had an excellent omelet wrap with avocado and turkey bacon, especially with Frank's hot sauce dabbed onto each bite. Coffee is average and served in a row of self-serve cannisters. The staff is as energic and friendly as ever. The wait area for your order to be brought out is awkwardly next to a row of 4-tops. The shop front is blessed with an inviting recessed entry in between sidewalk-facing bay windows with 2-tops; however, my left side window blocked the outside view with large advertisement posters - maybe to block the sun later in the day? Pricing is reasonable.

Best bagel in the area and located in great spot (Union Mill Colonnade). Service and food are consistently good. You can't compare any bagel to New York bagels but this place is still delicious. Hard outside, chewy inside. I love the turkey cheddar on plain bagel. Comes with a pickle and pasta salad. Yum!

Avocado toast and hummus veg-out bagels
    Heah-in O.

The avocado toast bagel was extremely overpriced at 7.99. There is only avocado and everything but bagel seasoning on a plain bagel which is a very simple bagel. I thought the 7.99 pricing was ridiculous and not worth the money. The hummus veg-out bagel was extremely mediocre but cost around $11 dollars. You could probably make a better bagel at home with the same ingredients. Overall, the food was just way too overpriced for what you get. I probably won't be returning to this store anytime soon. There are better places to eat in the area for a better price.

Service | Chicken & Waffles | Raspberry Latte…read more Service - The service was the weak point of the experience. Our waiter was friendly, helpful, and pleasant to interact with, but overall the service was slow and inattentive. I'm not sure if he was covering multiple sections, but we visited on a Friday morning when the restaurant appeared to be about 65-75% full, so it didn't seem overwhelmed. Chicken & Waffles - Overall, a tasty dish. The chicken was flavorful, and the waffle was well prepared. My main critique is the ratio. There was significantly more waffle than chicken--roughly a 5:8 ratio. Personally, I prefer a 1:1 chicken-to-waffle ratio so that every bite has the perfect balance. Good meal, but the portion balance could be improved. Raspberry Latte - The highlight of the visit. The raspberry flavor complemented the coffee perfectly without being overpowering. It was smooth, well-balanced, and something I would absolutely order again. Why Not Five Stars? - The slow service. We noticed several tables in our section experiencing the same issue. One outdoor table waited a long time for drinks and didn't receive their food until we were halfway through our meal, despite arriving before us. Pro Tip: There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant, which makes visiting easy. After your meal, take some time to walk around the town. It's charming, pedestrian-friendly, and worth exploring.

I had been told what a great spot this was for breakfast and lunch by so many people, so when a friend invited me, I couldn't wait to try it out. Whether you are looking for a savory crepe with coffee or avocado toast with a mimosa bucket, you can get it all here. I could probably dine here every morning for a year and get something different every time! There's plenty of seating inside and outside the restaurant, and dogs are welcome for outdoor seating. (When my friend brought a frenchie she was petsitting, several employees asked if we needed water or other items for her!) There are also umbrellas for the outdoor tables for sunny mornings. I've received great recommendations from my servers, and they are knowledgeable about their extensive menu. Even when we've had complicated orders, everything has always been perfect, and I've enjoyed my experience every time. I look forward to many delicious visits to Clifton Cafe in the future!

I used to frequent this place in high school and was curious about it. Back then, my favorite thing to get was their open face tuna melt (not sure if they have that any more) and their famous pumpkin roll (which I didn't see at the counter, bummer). Ambiance/ interior is exactly the same from decades ago. Fast/ casual, kinda small with small tables and seats upon entering. When it's warm you can usually sit outside. I noticed they now offer online ordering. I placed an order online and picked up at the counter- quick and accurate. I ordered a plain bagel with extra veggie cream cheese (they didn't charge me extra), garlic bagel with chive cream cheese, and turkey sandwich on plain bagel with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo. The inside of the bagels are nice and chewy, but the exterior had a crunch that I'm not used to. The overall feel of the bagel reminded me more of a hard baguette? I still enjoyed the food. I wasn't expecting the garlic bagel to kill a family of vampires. I love garlic but some of the bites were a little bitter so I mainly ate the bottom. I REALLY miss the pumpkin roll with sweet cream cheese filling. Please bring that back!

**** updated response to owner ***…read more I hear what you're saying about space and production limits, but that's exactly the point. If your setup can't support the volume and variety you're offering, then the issue is planning, not just space. Offering 16+ flavors while running out of plain bagels (or any bagels for that matter) before 10:30am isn't a demand anomaly, it's a mismatch between your menu and your capacity. Make fewer varieties, produce more of the basics, and you don't lose customers walking out. This isn't about comparing you to high-volume shops, it's about getting the fundamentals right. Plain bagels are the baseline. If those are gone, the rest of the menu doesn't really matter. End result is still the same, long wait, no product, lost sale. ***** Waited 12 minutes at Weird Dough Bagels this morning just to be told they were out of multiple bagels, including plain. Plain bagels... gone before 10:30am. If your concept is 16+ flavors, maybe figure out how to not run out of the one thing every single customer expects you to have. This isn't "high demand," it's bad planning. I'm from New York and I've never seen a bagel shop miss on basics like this. And in all the years going to Bodo's Bagels, I've never seen them run out of bagels, period. As a former café owner, running out of core items isn't quirky or artisanal, it's a failure. Walked out without ordering, about a $50 ticket lost because you couldn't manage inventory on the most basic product you sell. Do less, do it better. Right now it's neither.
