Came around 11:15 AM on a Thursday. The parking lot which is tiny was full, we took the last spot, but there's probably some street parking within a 5 min walk easy to find. The shop itself is smaller, but had plenty of seating. There were a good number of patrons there at the time. I ordered one of their seasonal iced matcha drinks, along with a cookie. They apparently had 50% off day old cookies, which I didn't realize (if there was a label on these I didn't notice), but I love the idea. Drink and cookie were good! They were made quickly and were a decent price especially compared to other local places. I don't drink coffee but my friends love their espresso too. Definitely a decent place to stop by! read more

I admittedly only came into Diva Espresso as it was a block away from my Airbnb, what a gem in plain sight! I ended up coming back a second time on my weekend trip. The baristas were kind, and the service was fast! The café was decorated for pride month, and the overall decor was whimsical and fun. How I heard of this place: About fifteen years ago, a friend of mine started working at Diva as a barista. We often met for coffee there, but only recently have I set foot back in a Diva establishment. Type of cuisine: Coffee shop fare with well-crafted espresso beverages, an overflowing pastry case, and fun questions of the day to save you a few cents off of your final bill. Ambiance: Warm, welcoming and cozy, this cafe has only a few places to sit, including a bar-height table and stools for two at the front corner window, looking out onto Greenwood Avenue. Windows along two sides face the main street and allow for some natural light to come through, even on darker, grey days. A few tables are also available to the right upon entry, where people on laptops are often found enjoying beverages and pastries in solitude. Baristas are often smiling and offer a warm greeting as patrons enter. What I ordered: A mocha, my usual. What I loved: The mocha was smooth, the coffee full and lacking in the sour notes of acidity. I love having Diva in the hood. Nice corner location, old school Seattle feel, good coffee and pastries, and I love the day old sale on pastries. Ways they can improve: the bathroom cleaner smell permeates the place. They wrap the fresh pastries in Saran Wrap. This makes no sense and wastes plastic - please use the little paper bags instead. Stopped by here mid morning on a weekend and both the gal who rung me up as well as the barista were barely civil. It was sad because I was friendly and ordered a simple iced mocha and tipped well. I saw them be unfriendly to other customers so it wasn't personal but I always walk away after paying for a $7 drink feeling bad if the service is also not worth it. Went here in the morning on a wedneday at around 8/9 and it was fairly busy with 2 busy in front of us in line and all the tables inside were filled, with half the outside tables full. The service was very nice and fast and the overall vibe of the place is super nice and cute with cute outdoor seating. It also has like 5 parking spots which was really nice. Overall I thought my drink was pretty good, I had been to a diff location when they had summer drinks which I preferred but it just might be that I enjoy summer flavors more. I thought my drink was good tho but not the best, overall this time it was a 3.5 but I'll round up since I really enjoyed last time and the parking was great and it was so cute. read more

My new favorite coffee shop. We moved from South Lake Union to Ballard. Although we have quite a few local coffee shops to us, this is a frequent stop due to its location on my route to work. The staff are always very pleasant and greet you as you come in. They appear to have decent options for varieties of coffees and syrups. Seasonal drinks seem like fun choices! Pastries always look delicious, but I have yet to try any. This location in particular has ample seating- indoor and outdoor. Located on what can be quite a busy street, but provides parking in the lot or street. I got their ice princess- a blended coffee with vanilla. So delicious!!! Can't believe I have not posted for indie Diva Espresso at 80th and Greenwood. I have been stopping in well before I was a Yelper! It is perfectly situated along Greenwood Ave N: this one at 80th, another near 105th, and also at 145th. They have many other Seattle locations and also one up in Kenmore. They also roast their own beans featuring quite a variety for purchase. I was awaiting a nearby restaurant takeout order, so I decided to walk over to Diva and warm up with a tasty mocha. Popular site in the neighborhood, as I had to queue with others in line, but this gave me an opportunity to consider the shelves of merch and the baked goods in the pastry case. This tiny cafe has limited onsite seating. A plus is that they have an adjacent parking lot and street parking. Friendly and efficient counter and barista staff. Beautiful coffee art and filled to the brim. Spot on crafted mocha, perfect temp, balanced flavors of coffee and chocolate. read more

Very nice baristas and you can tell by the conversations that this is a place frequenter by neighbors who they've built a relationship with (love that). Wide variety of baked good to choose from that are from local places as well. The inside has a few tables so if the weather is bad and you need to get work done, you may or may not have a spot inside to work. Unfortunately for me the coffee was just not good. Another local coffee shop that I've driven by so many times and never stopped in. Parking is the usual limiting factor here. Fortunately, I snagged the last parking spot in their small lot. After a not so good espresso earlier in the morning, I had to get something good to replace it. Their dopio is just what I needed. Freshly roasted and ground beans, the Chumley, and the Generro are among the specialty items--not to mention those in the bakery case--that set Diva apart from Starbuck's. Diva, again, gives off what I call a "dollhouse" feel to it, meant the quaint a cozy factor is off the charts. I prefer Diva, Van Gogh Dolce Vita and the local coffee shacks to the corporate, cookie-cutter conglomerates (the exception being Tully's). Diva Greenwood is perfectly situated in the middle of one of the best areas in the city, although parking is a bit tricky (you have to make a left turn from EB NW 80th Street right past the Greenwood Ave. N traffic light), or you can park along Greenwood Ave. N without much fear of getting a parking ticket. This place almost has a surreal coziness about it, especially on a fall or winter morning or twilight. I mean, you could almost film a movie here for a great cameo! read more

I wish I didn't have to take two buses to get there, but it's worth dropping by every time I find myself in Greenwood. I remember the first time I went, it was during the November '18 writing workshops organized by the library and its convenient location and cozy interior enticed me. I regret not learning her name, but the barista who was there that day was amazing. She was working alone, but she cleared the line in less than five minutes. She made me a delicious, foamy latte, and later on a big cup of rooibos tea. I must have stayed there for 4+ hours working. At one point, shortly before closing, the barista offered us some free snacks, which was a nice touch. I chose a bagel and she warmed it up for me - it was delicious, but the gesture really stayed with me! I don't usually buy food in cafes, but I know a portion of it goes to waste at closing. It just seemed to nice that she was willing to offer it to the customers instead. Not to mention, everyone seemed to love chatting with her. It does get a bit cold as the evening progresses and people come and go, but I still think it's a nice place to sit down with a cuppa and do some work. I also disagree with other reviewers who implied the baristas don't clean it - when I was there, the whole place got wiped down and vacuumed even shortly before closing for the night. The barista was attentive despite the steady stream of people coming in and made sure to chat with everyone. I got the impression she was a favourite with the regulars. Went here unexpectedly. They have a small parking lot that could fit about 6 cars - but we found street parking quite easily down the street since the lot was pretty full. Walking in - they have bar stools looking out onto the streets. They also have ample table and chairs so this place could hold more people than I expected. They have two bathrooms that are easily accessible as well. Along with coffee - they have teas & Italian sodas. I ordered peppermint tea - it was much needed after an already coffee-filled day. Sat by the window and people-watch. You bus your own tables & the bus cart is right by the bathroom. After passing by this place so many times - glad I gave them a try. Very impressed by the pastry offerings AND cold case of more hearty breakfast and lunch options. I had a pesto egg muffin with cheddar this morning, which they heated up for me. The decor and styling of the interior is on the old-fashioned side, but coffee shops like these are a breath of fresh air from all the usual modern hipster coffee places. The noise level is perfect for both small talk and productive work. The barista was super nice and patient. He answered all of my questions (it was my first time there) and gave recommendations. We didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. I ordered the chestnut praline, one of their special flavors they were promoting, and really loved it. Before I moved to Seattle, I had a romantic notion of what a neighbourhood coffeehouse would be. I imagined a sophisticated affair appointed perfectly with clean modern furniture or something like a comfortable creaky home converted with mismatched chairs, tables and music that I'd play at home over their speakers. I found the latter, the first time I entered here, score! There's no wi-fi offered but the library is literally a block away. You might be able to hop on their bandwidth but I've not tested out this theory. The pastries are pretty good. Near the biscotti cabinet there is a "day-old" basket for goodies if funds are tight. The items are still tasty and cheaper! My current favourite drink is an off menu concoction. It's an iced double short cherry non-fat mocha... and it's GOOD! If you order this, tell them Kristine from Yelp suggested it! It can never take the place of my non-fat mocha Chumley but few things can - that drink is like crack. This is such a cute little coffee shop. I feel like I am in someone's quaint living room or something. I usually do not care much for a coffee shop decor/ambiance (I am more concerned about the coffee) but I do like the feel of this shop. I got an 8oz vanilla latte. The total came out to be $3.11 which I thought was reasonable - some places charges upwards of $4 for the same size latte. My first impressions of the latte was that the foam was not as heavily microfoamed as some of the other local coffeeshops but it was still rather tasty. And the espresso blended quite nicely with the milk. The vanilla syrup was not bad (a hair too sweet), but it blended rather well with the espresso and the milk. I am a fan! I live rather far away though so I might not go out of my way for this coffee shop but if I am in the area, I will stop by for sure. read more

Great Coffee. It's easy to fall into the trap of being devoted to one or two of the many great coffee shops around Seattle. On one side, you have the standard fare of Starbucks, and on the other, the unique flavors for the many roasters around Seattle. With that said, Diva falls into one of the unique flavors around Seattle. Their coffee is full flavored, the staff there are attentive, and absolutely willing to start a conversation, while they make your coffee. This location isn't large, a few tables and a couple parking spots, but what it lacks in space, it makes up, in a clean, delicious cup of coffee. There is a line in the morning, about 5-10 people deep, but it's worth the wait. =) read more

i was in greenwood visiting from california, and was on a mission to try as many coffee shops within walking distance as i possibly could. and yet the one that stuck with me the most overall was diva espresso, i ended up coming here every single day i was there! the staff was very welcoming and helpful when i couldn't decide on what to order. i love myself a good iced oatmilk latte, i ordered mine with the english toffee flavoring and it was delicious! espresso was really nice and smooth and gave me that extra boost of energy i needed throughout my trip! it's been a few weeks since i left washington but i still have diva espresso on my mind and i can't wait until i get a chance to go back. definitely check it out if you're in the area! read more

I got the drip - 3 types available with a well stocked self help counter for milk, sugar etc My partner got the mocha chumly- fantastic coffee and chocolate flavor. Quite different from the canned hersheys syrup they use jn most places. We were able to find indoor seating on a sunday afternoon and stayed for a few hours getting work done. Don't get me wrong the coffee here is good but the service is horrible. I was in there with my 2 year old daughter having coffee and chocolate milk after going to the library. We ordered our drinks and sat by the windows in the front. I decided I was hungry and wanted to get a burrito to go with my coffee. I got in line behind a single customer to pay. The barista and customer got into a long conversation. In that time another customer had come in. Finally the barista wrapped up her conversation looked at me and told me rudely she was going to serve the other man, because he standing in the "right" place to order and I should have read the sign, (which was poorly placed). This after having already purchased coffee and standing patiently for at least 5 minutes wrangling a 2 year old while she was chatting. The gentleman was kind and seeing I had my hands full and had been there first insisted I go ahead. At that point I was upset at being treated so unexpectedly rudely that I decided to skip the burrito all together. My daughter and I love going to Seattle coffee shops on our adventures out. Usually staff in Seattle are wonderful and offer you a bit of grace when they see you have a well-behaved but lively kiddo in tow. This barista was not only dismissive but rude. Diva will not be on our list of places to go back to. read more

Recently I went to Diva to work on some writing, as I live nearby and I love the homey feel of this place. I ordered a drink that was displayed as a speciality seasonal drink. The Bautista, a tall guy, asked me "what is that?" I told him it was written on the sign in front of the espresso machine. He said "oh I don't look at that thing. What's in it?" At which point I described the nutty chai (chai with almond). There were a couple moments with him and another barista where I made a request ("not too sweet") and was met with defensiveness ("our drinks aren't too sweet here") and then of course I thought the drink was very sweet. I love sitting and relaxing at Diva, and in general I like the drinks, but the staff feels indifferent and at times callous toward customers. Not in love with that. read more
