No, I did not just go on a bad day, I've been to enough shops to know the difference between purely bad technique and just straight up bad matcha. I heard the owners have changed recently so maybe that has something to do with it but the amount of cafes trying to hop on the matcha trend just to serve half attempted concoctions like this is really not it.

This is an amazing pro tip to not have to drive all the way to Pike Place Market...traffic, parking, risk of items sold out, and with my current mobility issues - this is a major score! I was able to find nearby street parking and joined the queue of folks at the walk up window. I noticed that there were also people seated in the adjacent covered area. This also gave me the opportunity to look at their pastry case with nicely arranged pastries, bagels, and scones from purveyors, including Pufftown Bakehouse. There's also tea, coffee beans, and other merch available for purchase. Pleasant and efficient customer service. My vintage stamp card was no longer valid, but their POS uses the Joe app so I was able to accrue points for my purchases: an excellent well crafted 16oz mocha, and three PB pastries including ham & Wensleydale, spicy chorizo, and blood orange cinnamon. My halves later consumed were fresh and delicious. Glad to be reacquainted again with Cafe Bambino!
