We came here for dinner and really enjoyed our meal, although we wish it was in a better location. We started with the oysters which were good as well as the fried burrata. We ended up just eating the burrata and not the breading since it was too heavy. I also got the tuna tartare for my main dish and it was very good. The service was also great. read more

My second visit in a year. I sat at the bar, this is a warm cozy restaurant with a friendly professional staff. Great selection of ice cold draft beer served in pint plus glasses. The Switcback Ale $9 was perfect with the complimentary Dive Oyster house homemade chips served in a cute paper bag. The half dozen baked clams were delicious on a bed of Arugula. Right amount of toasty garlic butter breadcrumbs. Tender fresh clams ($22) I wasn't overly hungry so the lobster bisque ($14) hit the spot. A beautiful bowl with Starbucks type design in the creamy top. Lobster pieces in the soup were tender, but I could have enjoyed some slightly larger pieces. Flavor and consistency were excellent. The stunning bartender offered a taste of the reds by the glass- Super Tuscan, Cabernet, Malbec etc, but there are choices of brands. Nevertheless, the Cabernet at $15 per glass was bold and perfect. The wife and I went on a Saturday evening for dinner and Dive Oyster House surpassed all expectations! The lobster bisque, the scallops, the lobster roll and pasta special were all exquisite. We started with the mussels and crab cake for appetizers. Everything was super fresh and full of flavor. The crab cake came with a tasty summer corn salad. For entrees we had the salmon, risotto and the soft shell crab special all were great! The risotto was super rich and creamy topped with fresh fish. The salmon was cooked well with super crispy skin. Not pictured were the completely empty plates. The staff was super attentive. Checking in refilling glasses and bringing fresh drinks. This quaint little store front restaurant is a surprising find. I started with the lobster bisque. It was watery but flavorful and needed a thickener. My husband had the mussels and he said they were delicious. I had the 2lb lobster for my entree. It was boiled and not flavorful. I was very disappointed that I had ask for some Old Bay on the side to make it flavorful. The other thing is that the lobster seemed old. It had a lot of white hemolymph on the claws. For $85 I would not order it again. On the other hand, the steak was banging!!!! My husband got the steak with mushrooms and onions and it was absolutely to die for so were the mashed potatoes and the grilled asparagus. In fact, if I go back that will be what I order. I ordered apple tart and it was okay. I would not order it again. I also ordered a pineapple martini and my husband ordered a glass of Merlot. The bill came to $274. I wasn't sure what to expect from this first visit to this restaurant. FOOD: if your looking for oysters, this is not your place. They had two types of oysters...at a restaurant called "Oyster". No, sorry. This is a kind of Mediterranean restaurant with a blended menu. However, I was pleasantly surprised with our meal. My well cooked octopus could use more char but came with cannellini and slight heat. Nice. The shrimp and fettuccine special with chorizo was balanced. My wife enjoyed her tuna tartar. This fish & steak restaurant is located on Pleasantville Road in the space formerly occupied by Chatterbox 54 (not to be confused with Chatterbox which is still open in nearby Pleasantville - yes Pleasantville Road is in Briarcliff, go figure). Owned by former management at Flames and family, the space is small but upscale and offers a diverse menu from Oysters to pasta to steak. The wine list is seriously overpriced and the menu operates like a steakhouse with "sides" available to order for sharing. Some menu items cone with a sides of veggies and/or potato so choose wisely! Our West coast oysters were delicious and briny, and our group of 6 ordered lots of different dishes. Service was excellent throughout. My Dive Veal, topped with crabmeat and a cognac sauce was tender and delicious, if a tad oily. Dessert sampler was delicious and a nice treat from the owner. Reservations are a must on weekends as the place was full, including bar seats. We would definitely return. read more

The ambiance was lovely. The blue LED lighting makes a trendy vibe. Sat at the bar for a drink before dinner. Lychee martini came with a color changing sphere inside the glass. Kinda cool. I was expectativa a "dive bar" vibe but it's a classy place. Sat in the dining area for dinner. The owner was very friendly and offered us any table we wanted. All the staff were dressed in traditional server attire of black pants, white shirt & black bow tie. The bread rolls seemed to be purchased and not made in house and came with an olive tapenade. We had the shishito peppers as an appetizer and they were bland and way too oily. WOW! So happy I found this place. Haven't had a good lobster since moving to Westchester from NYC and Dive Oyster House checks every box. My lobster was beyond delicious. Everyone at my table had various seafood items (oysters, seafood tower, clams, etc) and everyone at the table raved about the food. So fresh and delicious! The staff were warm and welcoming. It was absolutely the perfect meal. I will be back and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a nice night out with high end seafood and cocktails. Very special place!! read more

There was nothing good about our experience. The decor is straight out of a euro-trash handbook. The service is sub par, like you're bothering the waitress. The music was awful. The food is waaaayyyy overpriced. And if all that is not bad enough we witnessed the table next to us buy a very expensive bottle of red wine and the horrible waiter decanted it into a wet decanter with awful tap water still inside. We got up. Paid for what little we could tolerate to eat and left. Just awful. If you want seafood, check out 3 westerly or ocean oyster house in croton. Both are vastly superior. read more

Stopped in for lunch, randomly, after a round of golf. Very glad we did. The service was classy, the drinks were spot on and the food was excellent. I had the lunch special which included a beautifully plated Caesar salad and one of the best chicken parmigiana dishes I've ever had, and I've had my share! The Cavewoman and I went to the Dive Oyster Bar last night for an early dinner. After a day of hiking. I had been here previously 2 weeks before with a couple of my cavemen friends. Both times we sat at the Bar(which I highly recommend). Right off the bat the service was top notch. You had the bartenders, wait staff, and managers were extremely attentive. Let's get to why you're really reading this review: Drinks These guys know how to make a proper drink! Make sure you try: -The Fig Jam Old Fashion -Dive Barrel Aged Manhattan (It's a little bit of a show) -The wines by the glass did not disappoint. Food: You must try the Baked Clams or the raw Oysters. (For obvious reasons) The Whole Bronzino was outstanding (had it the first time I was there) I had the Seafood Pasta special with Shrimp and Mussels last night and wondered if this should be a regular entree it was so good. !We were there for Mother's Day. They had a prefix menu of $75.00 per person. Portions were small, and dessert was not included. The food was meh, and the service was okay. They were overwhelming and felt we were rushed. We may try it one more time and order from the regular menu and see if maybe that's better. I honestly felt disappointed that even though they were offering a Mother's Day menu, it was very limited for people who actually don't eat seafood they only had one item in the starters. They should have offered items from regular menu as an option. The prefix menu was not worth the money, sorry! read more

We had high hopes, given the many glowing reviews. We ate at the bar. Some oysters were not properly shucked so they were still attached to the shells. The cocktails were good but some were served with a flashing LED mixed in with the ice. That's not classy, it's tacky. And it's super annoying to have a glass in front of you rapidly flashing and changing color. The bartender/server repeatedly spent much time chatting with the patrons next to us while we waited to place our food and drink orders. The food was fine but not exceptional. The place is fairly pricey and overall the experience was "meh". I've eaten in many great oyster bars and this isn't one of them. read more

This was the best lobster bisque I've had in decades. Creamy, but not very, with plenty of lobster and taste. Every dish was delicious with a pleasant twist and the service excellent. This was a great place to stop in on a rainy afternoon but also a classy choice if you'd like to go somewhere quite nice. Highly recommend! read more

Disappointing and overpriced dinner. $85 for a 2lb (looked smaller) lobster that was dry and flavorless. The owner said "you should have asked for a female". What?? Why not bring the best you have at these prices. My wife didn't believe it was freshly steamed. I had the black bass special which was fine, but pricey at $45. Wedge salad was institutional, side of grilled asparagus was overcooked. Mashed potatoes were ok. They could tell we weren't happy and comp'd glasses of port and a slice of cake for dessert. All in, a $300 check. For that amount of money, you can do a lot better elsewhere. This definitely was a one and done. read more

Had amazing spicy margaritas & apps that had me so full I skipped dinner lol the mussels were so delicious, we also had the west coast raw oysters YUM so sweet and fabulously fatty!! This was our first time in the area and we were looking for somewhere local to where we were staying that had seafood. We made a reservation online and were seated quickly by one of the owners . He was very friendly and went out of his way to make us comfortable . It was slightly more upscale then somewhere we would take our kids but it was our anniversary so we decided to give it a try. So happy we did ! They don't have a kids menu but the owner assured us that he could make whatever it was the kids wanted so they opted for rigatoni in red sauce . My husband had the dive chicken which was very flavorful and delicious . I had been wanting risotto all week and ordered the shrimp and scallop risotto it did not disappoint ! This place only just opened so this review may be a little premature... There was no lunch menu yet so two of us we ordered three appetizers to share. Baked clams were great, calamari was so-so. The crab cake sandwich was strange - the tasty, large crab patty was barely browned, so it was more of a crab salad sandwich. The place was not crowded but both the kitchen and the service were slow. The renovation of the dining area looks great. Nice upscale plates, flatware, napkins and glassware. Right now, the dining room is set up with the tables very close together (they may want to reconsider this density for the next month or so). Not really a spot for an intimate dinner as the dining area is one big room. There are a couple of tables outside on the sidewalk, so you may end up chatting with the passersby, but you're only 6 feet from the parked cars and the view is of the Getty station. I think the big issue for them going forward is going to be their prices. I doubt if even in this part of the county are there enough people that will drop a hundred a head on lunch, and the way the dining room is set up it doesn't seem to match the special occasion/destination dining prices. New much needed restaurant in briarcliff. Restaurant is beautifully done with great lighting. Lots of options with great specials. We tried the raw bar, tuna tartare, crab cakes, branzino, lobster tails, filet and clam chowder. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly and all the seafood was super fresh. For dessert we had one of the specials a basil crème brûlée, tiramisu and a fruit tart all delicious. Drinks were great too. Overall a solid gem in briarcliff that's great for dinner, a special occasion or even just a drink and some oysters. Easily one of my new go to places. read more
