We dive twice a day, luckily not deep. After a few dives I noticed a slow leak. I took it to the dive repair shop and guess what?! The o rings were old. They had never been replaced. This is SCUBA. Dive Utah is putting lives at stake by taking money and then doing nothing! Don't go here.

They say that over 10,000 years ago the Homestead Crater was formed when melting snow along the Wasatch Mountains mixed with heated geothermal hot springs 2 miles below the earths surface started spewing out water and picking up minerals such as limestone which were then deposited above the earths surface forming a volcano or "beehive" like formation. A Swiss settler discovered it in the late 1800's and named it a hot pot. Originally visitors had to be lowered into it via cable. As of the mid 1990's there is now access via a tunnel. We of course had to check it out and I'm so glad we got to experience it and learn about the history. It wasn't as hot as I had expected it to be, and while I initially thought 50 min was not enough of an experience, it most certainly was.

I asked my sister if she wanted to go when they came out here for Christmas, and I had her help me choose where to go. I polled friends, and then I had her choose. She chose the Homestead Crater, and she wasn't disappointed! It isn't too interesting in terms of things to look at, but getting to swim in a hot spring in a Crater, on Christmas Eve no less, made it a cool experience for family from Virginia. The water reflected was pretty blue-ish, which reminded me of a lagoon (like in The Little Mermaid ). I loved hearing of the history of the cave, how it was formed, and the minerals in the water. The water was perfect for a cold day. There are a few stalls, built into the cave wall for changing. The time changing is included in the 1 hour time slot you pay for. The staff was nice and knowledgeable. You do have to wear a life vest, which is provided at the Crater. There are also a couple of places you can sit, like the shallow end of a pool, if you don't want to "swim." Scuba diving is an option, for a little extra. Apparently some of my friends certified there for their scuba certifications. We hope to come back again soon!

Came in for our first open water dive with Neptune divers and we had a great time. Despite the very…read morechilly temperature the water was 71 degrees over in the abyss and 56 in the outdoor water area. The staff was very friendly and there was lots of parking. They have areas for you to rinse off and change. They have a place for you to refill tanks. It's a beautiful place to practice diving. Would love to come out in the summer when it's a bit more comfortable weather wise.

Bonneville Sea Base is a commercial diving spot out by the Grantsville Mountains that lets…read moreIntermountainers have a true terrestrial saltwater diving experience! There are three ponds there that you can dive in, the deepest (and warmest of the three) being The Abyss which goes down to 60 feet, and the other ones only being about 20 or so feet deep. Since this base was founded for scuba diving, Bonneville Seabase has gone the extra mile to make the experience optimized for the activity, they have put green house covering over all water areas (to help keep them warm) as well as designed all the "flow" of the base to make things convenient for scuba divers, such as where you hang things, how you walk through it, where you change, where you sit, enter/exit, etc. For what it is, Bonneville Seabase is as good as it gets for a terrestrial scuba diving spot. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is that I would need to go again, as I only went as a scuba certification in the Abyss to 25 feet and I will need to check the other ponds and depths to give it a full review of the experience!

Shop seems cool sometimes good sale but the service side is horrible…read more Had my ss1 serviced the week before a Caribbean trip. It failed at depth. Then they took three weeks to service it again and acted like they did me a favor not charging me lol. Not like I was left stranded in Roatan without and octo/inflator or anything. THEN Book a DRYSUIT course and they change the dates 3 times the week of and then come at me salty when I couldn't make the final last minute date change. Then they didn't even refund me hahaha. Literally their trips are insanely overpriced btw. The attitude they gave me because THEY couldn't get their DRYSUIT instructor to stick to one date was laughable. I work in a business where it's not so easy to just keep changing and am shocked they stay in business treating people this way. Go anywhere else. He was so kind and patient with us all even when we kept forgetting to lay our tanks down before walking away (sorry Jon). He is also very very passionate about the wagon wheel up at the crater which I found inspiring. He got us done as efficiently as possible with a full class and lots of skills to get through and kept it fun. This place is also ran and owned by women which is a slay.

All three programs were executed professionally, with kindness and acceptance for all individuals at their level. This shop carries everything you need to be successful and the staff are extremely helpful in finding the right fit for you personally. I cannot say enough good things about this dive center, it's owner Lori, or our amazing dive Instructors who went above and beyond to ensure our safety and comfort every step of the way. But the highlight of my experience had to be getting certified with Ivan Hartle. If you are un-sure you could do SCUBA, take a class with Ivan. He is such a good instructor and is one that wants you to love your new hobby instead of just pumping you through the certification. The gear sold at The Scuba Dive is high quality, and the staff is so helpful that I couldn't imagine going to another shop. Definitely check them out, you won't regret it. (And if you do, they will keep trying to get you into it ;) )
