I was there on Friday for an appointment and my nail tech was running 15 minutes behind. I let the gentleman up front know that I had to be somewhere and still waited another 5 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start. Finally get to me and it was rushed and I didn't like my final color as it was too transparent --- getting a gel pedicure so was hoping that the multiple layers would darken it up. It didn't-- but I had somewhere to be. I come back 2 days later for a color change. I like the final product and I go to pay and they tried to charge me $40. I explained as I did when I came in that I was just there the day before and she said " you should have said something when you were here the first time". My response was that your tech was running late and I had to be somewhere so I came back today to fix it. Then the manager said well the best I can do is take $10 off. So I paid it even though I had just paid $60 the day before. no worries, I will be moving on to another salon that cares about their clients' satisfaction.

The shop is small but cozy both women who work there are equally skilled. When I refused, she immediately dropped it to $900 and said she would take 80$ off of that. We walked out, and my daughter was incredibly upset as this was her first time looking forward to a professional salon day.As we were leaving, Edma asked what I could afford and dropped the price to $500. Cutting the price by more than half just proved how completely dishonest the initial quoting was, and I refused to even let them touch her hair after that, i managed to find an apt at 530 on a thursday night....went to the cutest place in Winchester called Alessando Salon, it was amazing we paid a completely reasonable $235, The stylists were top knotch, funny and down to earth....her came out absolutely amazing. She really cares and does her best for her clients. I find her prices to be fair. I think people need to remember when you're purchasing a Groupon, you are obviously looking for a deal but don't forget the business owner needs to make money too! I show up there and she's working on ANOTHER girl and I sat there for 40 mins while she chatted away blowing drying her hair. I left with a headache. Finally I'm up... sit in the chair. We talk for a few. I show her pictures of highlights I like so she can get an idea. She asked me if I had a groupon? I said no You emailed me a gift certificate. She goes oOoH ya ya I remember you. Well she kept dicking around. She started having a snack, texting, then she went in the hallway and spoke with the massage therapist. I sat in the chair for a half hour!!!!!!! And she didn't even touch my hair. I got up and walked out. She's like where are you going? I'm like I've been here for an hour and fifteen minutes and you havent even done anything yet. A Very Disappointing Experience After Years of Being a Loyal Customer…read more I have been a client of Lux Nails for years, and although my daughter previously had an unpleasant experience here and stop going there, I personally had never had a reason to complain until today. I made a 10:00 a.m. appointment and arrived prepared with the nail design I wanted. My nail technician, Lina, explained that she could not do my first choice, which I completely understood. I showed her another design, and she confirmed that she could do it. Halfway through my appointment, with my nails already done and essentially only the polish and design remaining, the manager, Meme, approached me because Lina's next client had arrived. Meme then asked whether I wanted to get my toes done instead or leave and come back later so Lina could take her next client. I found this extremely unprofessional and honestly shocking. I was already in the middle of a scheduled appointment. I had somewhere to be afterward and an event to attend. Why should a customer who arrived for her scheduled appointment be asked to leave halfway through her service and return later so another client can be accommodated? The situation became so uncomfortable that I could visibly see Lina becoming nervous and her hands beginning to shake. I even called my daughter while sitting there to arrange an appointment somewhere else because I realized I would likely need someone else to correct my nails. After speaking with Meme, Lina was allowed to continue. However, I ultimately left with a nail color and design that were not what I requested or agreed to. I even asked before she finished about the design I had originally shown her, but nothing was corrected or explained. I did not argue, cause a scene, or disrespect anyone. I simply paid Lina for the service and left. Now, after paying for an appointment that was supposed to have been completed correctly, I have to go somewhere else, spend additional money, and have my nails fixed before my event. As someone who is a manager for 23 years and deal with customers and customer service for many 23 years in a 30 million dollars company. I understand that appointments can run behind and unexpected situations happen. What matters is how you handle them. You should never make the customer sitting in your chair feel rushed, inconvenient, or less important because the next appointment has arrived. What disappoints me most is that I have supported Lux Nails for years. Loyalty should mean something. Every paying customer deserves to receive the service they booked, from beginning to end, without being asked to leave midway through so someone else can take their place. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I will not be returning anytime soon. Great customer service isn't only about doing nails it's about respecting your customers, their time, their money, and the trust they place in your business. The star I gave is for Welson, who was my stylist during my first appointment. He was actually excellent and gave me a wonderful cut. I made my second appointment for him specifically 2 weeks in advance, only to get a call about 30 minutes before asking if I could come in 2 1/2 hours later than my scheduled appointment time. I had prior commitments so I had to say no, the best they could do was let me in an hour late with a different stylist. I hate to say it, but I got a fully botched haircut. My hair is about 2 inches shorter than I asked, my bangs are very thick and not at all tapered and my layers aren't blended at all. My hair was curled when I left the salon so I didn't get to see the unevenness. Pictured below is my hair once I washed it at home and didn't curl it. I believe it's possible that my stylist was a little drunk when she cut my hair, which I blame on the culture in the salon rather than one stylist alone. I really don't like posting negative reviews, but I think it's important to warn people before they make their appointment here. If you do, make it with Welson.
