He was responsive to my questions and communications. Scheduling was easy: I had some other work being done on my house that wasn't done by our original scheduled day, so we had to reschedule once. When the work started, the crew was obviously very experienced and talented. I really enjoyed watching! They showed up on time and the owner came on-site a few times during the day. They consulted with me on some of the form setting to make sure I was pleased with it. Drainage is tricky on my property because the houses are very close together and the grade slopes upward toward the street, but they were careful with the leveling, and the water sheds nicely. The brush finish looks great. Stress lines and edging were all well done. They finished the entire project in a day, which was impressive, and came in a week to pull forms and cut another stress line. I'm very happy with the end result and would recommend Lacaria highly for any concrete work!

Craftsman Masonry worked on my chimney and touched up the mortar around my brick house. As other…read morereviewers have said, my general experience was that they were honest and hard working. The work was done on a hot August day. The weather prediction was that it was supposed to rain the next day. In spite of that, storms started popping up on the weather radar in the afternoon. The weather radar showed one of the storms tracking straight at my general area. At this point the last area to start working on was a window sill that would be opened up to the elements (in order to fix the surrounding mortar). I talked with the job supervisor several times about the approaching storm and my concerns about working on that window. He consistently told that it wasn't raining right now (he disregarded the weather radar that I showed him) and that the window sill wouldn't take long to do. When the weather radar showed that the storm was 30-45 minutes away, they still hadn't started to work on the window. Josh (sales) told me that it wasn't raining right now and that I would be charged for a return trip if I wanted to delay the window sill work. I felt like Josh also disregarded the weather radar. It wasn't until after that conversation that they started working on the window. Unfortunately they gouged the top of the slate window sill with their angle grinder, they chipped the front face of the slate window sill and a brick below the sill. The chaulking around the window sill was done on wet mortar so parts of it didn't adhere properly. I fixed the chaulk two days later. I can't fix the sill and brick problems. I feel that the last minute push to work on the window sill contributed to the mistakes I described. It would have been better if they had started the window sill earlier when I first started talking with the job supervisor about what I was seeing on the weather radar. Yes, it rained while they were working on the window.

Finally in August the roofers completed the 10 hour job and we kind enough to point out in camera photos of the two cracked brick areas on 2 chimneys. After 3 days I called Resurrection Brick for a Free Chimney inspection since they use a Drone camera as well with overall details. History: I have attached several photos explaining this professional brick business with help and approval from their website called "Resurrection Brick, Family Owned & Operated, Licensed & Insured." From the start with Sales Rep Matthew, he was kind and detailed with his conversation that was slow and not rushed plus explaining the process of brick replacement, employees and workmanship. He even brought over several Brick Samples to match up the next day for a 35 year old Colonial Home. The Contract was written up and in one day I was approved for their financing with U S Bank. I was relieved since the roof replacement claim and deductible wiped out my cash flow and 2 other unplanned Summer projects. :-( This company is on Google, Facebook and Now YELP with My Review! Buckle up. This is going to be a long one…read more If anyone needs masonry/construction done, stay far away from this company. I needed some work done on my front porch. They charged the hell out of me. Almost $7000 to replace some outer bricks, remove my old steps and place new ones, and do a little tuckpointing under my window. I thought the work seemed good but when I initially posted it on Facebook I had several people tell me the steps weren't up to code. I called Chris, the project manager to express my concerns. His response was "which people? Who are these people?" When I told him some people on social media told me they are not up to code. One of them being a former city inspector for city of Detroit. Chris told me he could look at it but that they were up to code. Not too long after that, an inspector from city of Dearborn gave me a notice that the work had multiple violations, being that the steps were not of equal heights, no permit was pulled, no four foot footing was installed, and that they were not even licensed to work in the city of Dearborn so they were getting a ticket for that. Chris stopped by my house that evening to tell me city of Dearborn called him and in order to correct the work I needed to reimburse them for the permit and would need to pay them $1000 for the four foot footing. I was a bit taken aback but soon realized I should not pay for a violation that they committed. I wanted to speak with the owner instead I got Brittanie the operations manager who told me to "calm down" and "you would just have to pay $1000 for the four foot footing." She told me they are a licensed residential builder and that they are licensed to work in the city of Dearborn. The city inspector confirmed with me the next day that they weren't licensed to work in the city of Dearborn so she lied to me about that. I decided to have a different company correct their work. I wanted it done legally and with the way they did the steps, they were a tripping hazard and I didn't want to get sued. The other company pulled the permit and corrected their work. Unfortunately when Resurrection Brick did the work we financed through the bank they use to finance which is US Bank and the finance company is Wisetack. I tried to dispute it with them but they told me there was nothing they could do. I spoke to a lawyer who told me the bank shouldn't have given them the lump sum and they should have had me sign off that I approved of the work. I asked the finance company about me signing off on the work and giving my approval. I never did that after they were done. They explained that when I applied for the loan I checked off that I approved the work they did. How can I approve something if I never saw it? I asked the bank to send me proof of that and they told me they couldn't send me any proof of that. So there are issues with the financial institution Resurrection Brick chooses to use. Resurrection Brick also never gave me a copy of a signed contract. Now, I am going to be taking this to small claims court

I recently had them do work on my roof, porch and install a sump pump…read more They went out of their way to make sure I had the correct type of roof on a low pitch part of my roof. When Mike and Lee saw the condition of the roof boards after removing the shingles they switched to "peel and stick" roll roofing. This caused extra work and expense for them because other materials had already been delivered, but they wanted to make sure my roof was done the right way. The roof looks great! Steve, Dino and his crew did a great job on the porch and the sump pump. The porch looks so much better now that it is level and the cracks are filled in. The water does not all run towards the house and into the crawl space. I really appreciate the extra effort to get the sump pump deeper. The only access was a small opening inside a bedroom closet. I know how much more difficult it made the work because they had to dig in a small confined area and they were digging into wet clay. It is so much nicer and safer with the discharge pipe relocated to the other side of the house instead of running across in front the gate. Now I can simply go into the closet to start the pump. I used to have to go outside and bring a hose in through a window before pumping water out of the crawl space. Everyone was so friendly, polite and professional. This is a great company to deal with and the work was excellent!! I will definitely call them again and will recommend them to everyone I know.

We understand that stuff happens, concrete is a science, and we were told immediately that the problem would be fixed to our satisfaction. I decided to give this young upstart a chance and had Pro-Active perform some very extensive masonry work on my home in June totaling over $10,000. The job was scheduled a few weeks out and once it had begun, his crew worked pretty hard to get it all completed in a few days time. Greg did a great job securing some reclaimed brick which closely matched the existing split face brick on my 2 chimneys which needed rebuilding. Greg was very proud of his extensive knowledge on color matching mortar, however I was NOT impressed with the way the tuck pointing mortar color turned out on my mortar joints. He said it would lighten up and blend in better after it 'weathers' for a few months and if not, he would come back and re-do that work. The last part of the job was to remove and replace two front window sills. The limestone was measured and cut correctly however, after they packed up and left, I noticed one of the sills was not aligned properly and not quite flush with the house. Greg said that was an easy fix and that he would come back and re-set the sill. That was 5 months ago !! Any respectable contractor addresses customer concerns and issues before, during and after the job. Like other reviewers here have experienced, Greg will not respond to phone calls or text messages once he has your money. Such a shame - a simple one hour fix would have certainly changed my opinion. It's too late in the season to do any outside masonry work due to freezing risk and I now have a window sill that can't be sealed (aluminum trim) and will probably leak snow and water throughout the winter. Successful business owners stand behind their work, respond to their clients and take reasonable measures to assure their customers are satisfied. Greg clearly does not subscribe to these business principles as he exhibited none of these characteristics with me. I surmise that Pro-Active Masonry will not succeed - just another 'take the money and run' company. Does anyone know of a reputable mason I can get to come out and fix Greg's shoddy workmanship ??
