    Whew! 18 holes of golf, even starting at 7:20 AM, is no joke. We were hot, sweaty and ready for lunch at noon. Lucky for us, this classic golf club bar and grill was open and ready! First, the iced tea. I don't usually order sweet tea because it's often too sweet. But this was perfect, and we were served two full glasses with fresh lemon, and a full pitcher left on our table. We got different lunch dishes. The chicken salad sandwich was on a fresh croissant and served with crisp sweet potato fries. I had the seafood platter, which had two generous sized redfish filets, two large gulf shrimp and a free bay scallops, and some of the best steak fries I've ever had. Everything was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. The service was friendly and swift. We didn't have to wait very long for anything. I was surprised the placed was so empty at the noon hour. There were perhaps 4 or 5 other people in the bar, but only 2 others seated in the dining room. The facility is very clean and tastefully decorated. Five stars!

    Burned to a crisp with rotten avocado. No chicken and something that might have started on a cow, but was dust on cheap beans.

    This place has gone way down. Used to be good service and solid food, especially the specials, Not any more. My wife said run to Divots and order a special because we can't find the specials online. No bar tender when I got there. Then he went down the line until he got to me. I'm a top-shelf drinker. Got my martini, but no offer of a menu...the reason I was there. Some ladies came in, they got a menu. Someone the bartender knows got a menu, but not me. Eventually, i saw some paper menus by the front door, so I got up and got them myself. And then waited. I noticed that they had a number to call in your order. So I called. The lady who answered could hear I was at the bar, so hung up on me and walked away. It did get the bartender's attention. He took my order. No offer of another drink. So I sat with an empty glass. The order came and the check. But get this, I couldn't get someone to take my money. I flagged down in of the servers who was just sitting in the corner. Her excuse? We were busy. There were three tables when I walked in and half the bar was full. Finally, almost an hour later, I get home, and the taco shell was burned to a crisp. The avocado had black spots. No chicken. I would have eaten beef, but I don't think it was beef. There was this dust on top of the cheap beans. My wife wasn't touching it. I'm brave. But I couldn't finish a bit of the beans. To I had to go to @babyboomers for a pizza.

    This restaurant was a colossal disappointment under the old owner operator/management!! The food was marginal at best and the service was even worse! It was recently taken over by the Sea Ranch group so you knew that things were going to get better! IT HAS!!! I had the prime rib, really good! Chef could spice up the crust with some sweet/ heat and take this dish over the top! Came to the table looking like a small SLAB of beef! Couldn't finish it! Two whole meals of food. My wife went for what she thought would be a lighter dish, had the prime rib sandwich. Amazing! Service was much improved as well! I know that they kept a lot of the old staff, which really speaks to the quality of the management!! All in all an enjoyable experience! Definitely returning!

    Power went out on South Padre Island so we needed a place to eat on the mainland. Happy we stopped here. There was live music & the flatbread was amazing.

    Today May 1, 23 at 3:40 pm party of 3. I was pleasantly surprised first with the welcoming we got from the manager there,Raul, who seems very experienced and unbelievable nice! The coconut shrimp (with local shrimp) was one of the best I've eaten in the area. My friend was having her birthday today, oh boy was she happy and lucky we went to Divots! They gave her a very yummy and moist chocolate cake which she picked from 3 options. I will definitely be back and recommend it.

    Food is fantastic, atmosphere is wonderful, and the service is immaculate. I would recommend coming here for a great meal at a decent price.

    Overpriced, average food. Have tried it multiple times at lunch and dinner. Salads are the best item on the menu.

The star dessert was the lemon cake with fresh fruit! Light and airy cake, the fruit was to die for. Delicious! The wind pairings were good, although some of the selections were "tired" favs, like "The Prisoner"... IMHO. Such a good wine list at F&B, the pairings were disappointing! I gave it 2 stars several years ago because the service wasn't the greatest - far from it - and it was fairly quiet that night. Isn't it often that way? I went back to Kelly's Irish Pub because I believe it was more about the server and bartender that evening than it was about their regular modus operandi. I ordered the shepherd's pie and it was actually fairly decent. The service was definitely much better on this last go round. When on SPI, I usually don't return to places more than once during a stay unless I find it exceptional, it's a coffeehouse, or it's Whataburger with its great hours. However, one day I had planned to get lunch at another small eatery and it was easy to see that they were full and I'd have to wait a while. Having seen the daily specials at Kelly's, I went back for one of them. I got the fish and chips lunch platter and it was very good, not to mention a respectable value. The interior delivers with its thematic busy collection of Irish paraphernalia and its feeling of being like an old shoe. The customers seemed to be in a good mood. That could also in part be attributable to the service I encountered. Kelly's Irish Pub on SPI handily moves from 2 to 4 stars for providing a good mix of food, service, value, and atmosphere on two visits within a week. I really like their slate of lunch specials and, befitting a casual neighborhood sort of place, their friendliness is appreciated.

We don't see our server for sometime, so I went to the hostess asking if she were also the manager which she stated she wasn't & that they were at the bar.That's when our server came up behind me & asked if there was a problem. It's salad dressing, it shouldn't be this difficult! LOL After this fiasco, they brought more salad and a watered down milky dressing that had zero flavor and zero cheese along with sliced cucumber?! The consistency was like milk. It was running, bland, NO blended cheese in the base-it definitely wasn't blue cheese dressing! WT?! This ALL transpired while my husband was still waiting on his burger & fries . About another 15 minutes goes by, I finally had to just start in on the bland salad. My husband's beer still sat empty & was never told when his burger would be served the few times are server swung by regarding my order issues. 20 minutes later, she comes by again & he was asked if it was cheddar cheese & he said, "no it was pepper jack". A total of 30 minutes he waited for a very rare burger, cold fries & FINALLY another beer! Terrible service and food wasn't very good either.

We'd chartered a fishing trip and had some fresh fillets, so we did their hook-and-cook deal. Hook & cook, $11.99/person -- they'll cook all your fish however you want it, and it comes with sides, sauces, and a drink. I asked for tortillas on the side so we could make fish tacos. Good value, and the food they cooked for us was solid all around. We had a mix of sides -- french fries, onion rings, rice, beans, and fried okra -- all pretty good. On the fish prep: the fried was probably the best, the grilled was fine, and the blackened was my least favorite. Service was really efficient and nice -- the lady working the front counter was super helpful and very nice. The place was clean, the restroom was clean, plenty of tables for large groups, and a large bar area. I also noticed they have happy hour specials. The one downside: the salsa/sauce selection was pretty much nonexistent -- just Tapatío, and the sauces that came with the hook-and-cook were a low-end cocktail and tartar sauce. Honestly that's the one thing about the whole island -- nobody seems to have any good salsa. In general, if you're doing a hook-and-cook, I'd suggest coming here. Would recommend for that, and I'd return if I were doing it again.
